Yo guys. Even though I started playing Reborn about 2 years ago (think around episode 10-11?), I just wanted to come here to express my feelings of gratitude. Seriously this game is god-tier and Ame (and others?) is a freakin genious for inventing and creating this game.

About my experience with Pokemon, especially Gen I and II I have played to death (including Pokemon Stadium I and II), and probably rank in my top 10 games of all time. To date I have played every gen including the X.5 games such as yellow, crystal, emerald etc.

I unintentionally found out about Reborn by watching Shofu’s youtube channel. At first I was just watching the competitive videos, but then I saw he also did playthroughs of (fanmade) Pokemon games. So I looked through the playlists and saw Reborn. I thought by myself “hmm that sounds pretty cool” so I decided to download the game to try it. For real, ever since I hopped off that train, my mind has been blown (Hmm, there’s another awesome RPG where you hop off a train *cough* FF7 *cough*, could it be coincidence? ). Let me just sum it up in a few bullet points:

-In contrast to the normal games that have a more cheerful setting, this game is dark as shit and Reborn City looks like a complete mess after all the devastation. Especially in the beginning of the game, Pokemon are scarce and you really have to look for them.

-The second thing that struck me was the excellent soundtrack. Not only the awesome Reborn theme, but also the remixes made by GlitchCity (seriously, why can’t more grills be so awesome like Ame and Glitch L ). Not only do the remixes have a lot of nostalgic value, they add something new and fit like a glove to the game.

-The boss battles are challenging and I actually have to use my brain cells instead of just facerolling my way through the game (Yes, I’m looking in particular at you Gen VI. What a total disgrace you were with that laughable difficulty, exp share and free legendaries). The field effects are a nice addition, I have no idea how so many people hate them (they are probably just too lazy to figure it out).

-Awesome storyline. For me especially the first part of the game that took part in Reborn City was the shit, and of course the infamous Volcano scene. There were some really questionable things happening in the storyline, like for example Glitch City, but overall the story has been excellent and leaves me hungry for more.

Although the game is friggin awesome, there’s some things that could be better:

-Characters. Although the characters are really well fleshed out, there’s simply too many of them. I only play the game every X months anxiously waiting for a new release, so I just forget about characters sometimes. It would be nice if you reintroduce some of them, or add a glossary to the game so that you can quickly look up info about them.

-Not necessary linked to Reborn only, but I really hate random battles. Yes you can buy repels, but it is super annoying to encounter wild pokemon, especially in caves. Would be nice to have the option to avoid them without having to waste a lot of repels.

At the moment I’m playing Rejuvenation on Intense and have 5 badges so far. It is nowhere near as good as Reborn though (which is of course the game everyone is comparing it to). There’s some real cringe worthy moments where I just shake my head in disbelief, but regardless it is still fun playing the game. I’ll write a review probably once I finished current content.

Before I end this post, there’s some questions I’d like to ask:

1. How can you change natures in Reborn and Rejuvenation?

2. Where can I find the move relearner and Heart Link in Rejuvenation?

But anyway, hoping to have a nice stay here on the forum J

That's pretty good post of your thoughts of reborn. I liked the read quite.

I agreed all except for the wild pokemon thing. Yes it can be annoying even through repels. But it has a purpose like finding pokemon the player wants. Not every pokemon have their own sidequest and wild pokemon have actually been pretty useful for gym battles. It let me get motivated to catch more wild pokemon instead of the pokemon i want that may not work for each gym. Pretty much new stratergies.

For reju, i have to agree. It's another discussion so i'll not talk about it deeply.

For question 1.

I actually forgot a bit about Reborn. It have been quite a while since playing reborn. So my memories is bit messy. Somebody else will tell it for you.

For Rejuvenation, it's not possible yet for current release.

For question 2.

Move relearner is in sheridan village, right side down below of the houses.

I forgot that one too. Sorry man. Someone else can tell you it. If you need help for other items, quests etc --->Go to this topic for help.

Ame has the story all written out, so I'm unsure if she'll change so that the older characters (like Victoria and Radomus) can come back and you can remember them (although I think she actually forgot about Serra when writing the story). It would be nice, though, since I was confused on my first playthrough on who some of the characters back in episode 4 were.

1. In Reborn, there's a Nature Changer at 7th Street who will randomly change Natures for a Heart Scale. In Rejuvenation, there's no Nature Changer yet.

2. Move Relearner is in Sheridan Village, like Shing says, but I think she only works at night? I'm not sure. As for Link Hearts, there's someone who sells them if I remember correctly, but I don't know where... Sorry, :/

Regarding point 2, the move relearner indeed only works during the night, and the link hearts are sold by a merchant on Route 3 during the day. She may not always be there though.

1. The nature changer in Pokemon Reborn is located iirc in the house to the far south west of 7th street. There is no nature changer in Pokemon rejuvention as of now. There will be soon though, I believe.

2. Shing has you there about the move relearner in Sheridan, but it doesn't work at the ends Versions 6 and 7 for some reason. :[ Link hearts can be bought in that route to the west of Goldenwood town, and found through the overworld.
