koboldsftw
I haven't attempted the gym battle yet, so it could be super easy for all i know, but how do i beat Julia with just a Igglybuff/Jigglypuff? My igglybuff is currently lvl. 9 Calm nature HP: 36 Atk: 9 Def: 7 SpAtk: 12 SpDef:12 Spd: 10 Thanks for any help! Edit: I also saved right before picking up the igglybuff, so I can go back and theoretically get any nature and stats I want, I'm just not sure what I'm looking for. mwijsman
No, not even close, you should probably be around level 15ish when you have multiple pokemon, Julia loves using selfdestruct/explosion so you need to be pretty well prepared if you are planning a monotype battle with a single pokemon Edited March 11, 2016 by mwijsman
CMV
I don't think you can. Julia's pokémon love spamming Sonic Boom, you cannot really solo her with one pokémon unless you have a really good setup sweeper (which at this stage of the game means Torchic/Combusken). Ask for 3-4 decent Fairy-types here. Something like Togepi, Azurill, Mawile should be able to do the job. Good luck!
Zane0144
Okay, firstly is it competitive ability? If no, it may not matter. Second, decide when to evolve it. Iggly is nice cause it evolves through the power of FRIENDSHIP. So, you can level it up to level 10 and learn all of iggly's moves. The first move it learns as jigglypuff is at level 11, disarming voice (which would be decent with competitive. If you want disarming then you need to walk around in circles or back and forth somewhere. Every 255 steps (i think) will raise its happiness. (Sadly there is no happiness checker to check how happy it is. It doesn't have to be max, just very happy.) Then your moves learned are as follows (for jiggly) 15 disable 18 double slap 21 rollout 24 round (probably your best move at this point) So, yeah, just get that happiness up and evolve it by level 11. Iggly also learns copy cat at level 11 but that move is meh. Hopefully that power at level 21 or 24 can carry you through the battle. Good luck. Another tip, maybe just look through the items you have. See if any x-attacks or something can help you out. Maybe a hold item. I think some pokes may hold berries at this stage of the game but i could be wrong. Back when i did this run i had a ton of other fairies helping me. It's much harder now. But i do know your pain cause i had to grind in a similar fashion to beat the first tangrowth on my monorock run. Fumble
Igglybuff/Jigglypuff really can't do much besides changing the Field to Misty Terrain (if you have that event move) or using Perish Song when Electrode finally comes out (if you have that event move). You can't use Perish Song on any other Pokemon, really, because the AI knows to switch out on the last turn of Perish Song. There are other things that can sweep Julia, like Technician Fury Cutter Kricketune or Moxie Bite Mightyena.
