HyperspaceFury
It’s consistently portrayed as blue in the games, so why is it purple in the anime? Also, off-topic, but it’s been a few months since I’ve been on these boards, and it’s nice to be back.
Ironbound
Welcome back. As for your question, there's almost always a slight distinction in colouration between the games and the show. In some cases the show does have a more pronounced distinction in its animations. It is possible that garchomp is one such case. Or perhaps it's shiny; either way, garchomp is one Pokémon whose normal and shiny colourations are very similar and apt to confusion. I can't give a better answer because: A. It must have been years and years since the show and its plot (if it has one) ceased to interest me. B. I am partially colourblind.

Oddly enough, in the game, shiny Garchomps appear bluer than normal Garchomps to me. But I’m positive that the Garchomps I saw in the anime are not shiny, so I think it’s safe to say that’s not the case. Perhaps my eyesight is failing me. After all, I did think that dress was white and gold… Edited March 18, 2016 by HyperspaceFury
