Masquerain
I would have to agree with you entirely up there ^ They should probably make something that doesn't require you to travel to the atlantic ocean to find a squirtle

CURIE
damn, this means the only thing im gonna find around my house is miltank :/ Good news, you won't have to see a single Miltank. Because Miltank isn't gen 1. It's still possible that the other 570 Pokemon could be added by the time the game comes out, but after ORAS and its "beta" I wouldn't count on it. Combat
I love generation one as much as the next guy, but I'm really trying to figure out the logic with this one. Generation one just feels kind of boring to me, and really lacked any sort of balance to it. Normal type was useless, there were only three ghost types total, and the balancing was awful. If there i going to be a competitive battling scene, I'm a little afraid to see how it will turn out...

Spineblade
I don't really know what to make of what we've seen so far. If capturing Pokemon really is just throwing a ball, with no real 'battling' or whatever to it, that seems kind of disappointing (since battling is one of the core aspects of the entire franchise). I guess time will tell what the final result is.
CURIE
Another leaker popped up and gave away an interesting bit of information. Remember how they said in the press release that you evolve Pokemon by combining multiples their kind? Well apparently that's completely untrue. You're supposed to collect these crystal things and spend them to make your Pokemon evolve. Still no word on how "battles" are supposed to work, although it's been noted that out of all two hundred and something moves found in the datamine, every single one is an attacking move with the exception of Splash. This makes it seem even more likely to end up as some kind of automated mobile stupidity...
Ironbound
I hope I don't have to traipse around a Power Plant to get a Magnemite...

I don't imagine a mobile thing would have too much diversity, especially being the first of its kind for pokemon
laggless01
Me and some guys were rather interested/excited for Go, but with what I hear here, a lot of our expectations will be shattered. just walk to x area and throw balls... ...I will not add anything to this. Too obvious.
Developers Caz Posted April 13, 2016 Developers Share Posted April 13, 2016 Every place worldwide will only have wild Grimer and Muk, except Japan. It's secretly a tactic to increase tourism in Japan.

Muk is pretty decent. Paras on the other hand...

CURIE
Well, turns out we didn't ever get any leaks about how battling works because up until now, the player was locked out of using gyms. But now they've been enabled in the beta, and we know what combat is like. As it turns out, the reason Pokemon have only two attacks is because one of them is a "standard" attack, and the other is a "charged" attack. Good news is, at the very least the battle system itself isn't a clone of Ingress. Bad news is it's not what you want, it's one of those "tapfest" kinda mobile games. Spamtap to do regular attack, tap and hold to do charge attack, swipe to dodge, and all these actions drain your stamina bar wich refills at about 20% per second. I gotta admit though, it seems to have more potential for depth and strategy than most tapfest games... Except that there are attacks that can't be dodged. What the hell devs, now everyone's obviously gonna use those over the Pokemon who can be dodged! The people who leak it claim it's funner than it sounds, tho. And I have to respect the devs for (seemingly) making it that you can only use items to heal when outside of battle, otherwise it'd be unfair towards the attacker. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. This battle system is the attacking player vs the Pokemon who was set to defend the gym by another player, which is obviously computer controlled because the other player can't be expected to always be on the ready for someone to attack. While understandable, this makes it seem more and more that actual pvp does not exist... You can train at your own gym by fighting the Pokemon you set there with any other Pokemon you have. This seems to be for little more than practice, since Pokemon seem to not have levels. At the end of a battle the defending Pokemon goes back to full health, but any damage or fainting the attacker takes persists forever until the player does something. And since there are no Pokemon Centers, items are the only way. Yes, this even happens during training. When you attack a gym you select a team of six out of the Pokemon you have, and when a guy of yours faints you can send out more. This seems rigged in the attacker's favor, but it's balanced out by the fact that the battle can only last 120 seconds or you fail. That and the fact that afterward, you're gonna have to use items to heal all your damaged 'mons. The fighting itself is one on one, butit's suggested that in the full release it'll be three on three. Maybe the other slots are for two other players on your team? Because it sounds like it would be hell to manage 3 guys at once with this kind of battle system. And still Gen 1 only.
