Shamitako
Discord Channel Tempest, the place where mortals can become gods. It is an unfriendly place, full of trial and tribulation. The seven planes of the wind are inhabited by men all struggling to reach godhood. This feat has been achieved by nine so far, and seven these nine now preside over Tempest as its rulers. It is said that a new god cannot arise until one of the current gods steps down or is killed, as a god must have a plane to rule and there are only seven. However, be it by glitch or miracle, a man has proclaimed himself the tenth god. the other gods, angry with his proclamations, tried to assassinate him. However, he showcased his godly powers--abilities which prevent any god from being killed outside the Rules of Immortality which state that all attacks on a god must be "absolute." In other words, fighting him in any way other than a fair one on one challenge will result in death. Unwilling to risk themselves against him but slowly losing followers, the gods had to come up with a plan. So they put out a challenge to the entire realm, a contest to determine the strongest. Whoever won would be sent to fight the tenth god and, should they win, granted godhood over their choice of plane. The contest would begin with individual challenges. For thirty days after the announcement, participants were to challenge whoever they could find and rack up as much Favor as they could manage. The top 8 would then by invited to a tournament across the land to fight for who was the greatest warrior This RP will be about those 8 people Setting: Unsurprisingly I'm sure, the planes are each based on one of the Seven Deadly Sins. The following list has them in order of lowest ranked to highest ranked as of the beginning of the RP. The percentages represent how many Tempest residents follow the presiding god Plane of Sloth 1%, Ruled by the Sixth God A desolate plane with very few residents. The Sixth God is too lazy to actually make it an appealing place. What few followers he has are usually outcasts from the other planes The plane of Sloth is very lacking in Anchors and has many ruins scattered about. Often people will simply camp out in the dilapidated arenas--which oddly remain unsecured. The land seems to be permanently clouded with dust Plane of Wrath 3%, Ruled by the Eighth God The Plane of Wrath is full of territorial people who tend to get very defensive about just about everything. As such, they've driven out most of their normal residents and are left only with those who actually care about wrathfulness. The Eighth God, for his part, is actually much calmer than his people and does his best to try to settle disputes before they get out of hand This Plane has an ambient orange glow to it, setting it apart from the dull grey of most other Planes. This is caused by a sun-like object permanently attached to the horizon. Sometimes the entire Plane will spontaneously combust and the high radiation emitted by the sun make it dangerous. However, Wrath Anchors are specially designed to protect against the environment and are particularly common. The air here is particularly oxygen-rich Plane of Envy 6%, Ruled by the Fifth God A place of jealousy and infighting. The plane of envy is a den of thieves ruled by a king of thieves. The Fifth God retains her control only because her status prevents anyone from killing her through devious means, and that's how she likes it Envy is a relatively boring place. The buildings are constructed simply and practically. It is one of three Planes where there is precipitation, and it will rain often. The rain will then fade off into a thick fog for several hours after it passes Plane of Lust 14%, Ruled by the Third God The first plane you'll find where the residents are not mostly adherents to the plane's concept. The plane of Lust used to hold the most money when the Second God was its ruler, but the Third God was far too keen on making the land live up to its name, resulting in much lower levels of non-Lusty residents and a lot less winning against their cash rivals in the Plane of Gluttony. Only recently has he changed his policies and begun to regrow his formerly proud plane The other Plane with a unique atmosphere, the sky in Lust is decidedly black. This darkness seems to almost be alive, and outside the range of an anchor it will swallow anyone instantly. Within anchor range there is a sort of brightness to the black that makes it possible to see as though it were any other plane. Has the largest cluster of Anchors in any single place, giving it the largest capital city in all of the Planes Plane of Gluttony 15%, Ruled by the Ninth God Also known as the "Plane of Partying." The Fourth God made this the richest plane in Tempest. Her protege, the Ninth God, carries on her legacy of constant parties which bring in more revenue and followers. However, the plane must still compete with Lust often to help keep itself afloat A frigid tundra which snows often. However, thanks to reverse engineered heating technology, it is possible for the people of gluttony to not only grow crops but also to keep livestock. There are also cold lakes in some areas which can be fished in. The high demand of food has made this Plane extremely rich Plane of Greed 22%, Ruled by the Seventh God Considered the strongest plane, the Seventh God could easily take Gluttony's title as the richest plane if he wanted. However he does not live up to his plane and is not greedy, preferring to maintain stability. Because of this plane's safety, many reside there The Plane with the most anchors of all, in some places one can actually walk between disconnected anchors without getting lost. The only Plane with more than one cluster of anchors which a city can be built around. Also receives rain, and although not able to output crops near as fast as Gluttony's complex hydroponics systems, Greed still has a fairly strong food market Plane of Pride 26%, Ruled by the First God The highest ranked plane ever since the Gods began appearing. The First God is extremely good at instilling loyalty without creating fear. Thought not as powerful as Greed or as a rich as Gluttony, Pride is a plane that most find it hard to leave. This means that it always draws in similar or greater numbers than it loses The only Plane where minerals can be found and also one full of ancient artifacts, most of Pride's people work either as scholars and engineers who study ancient technology or miners who supply the scholars with materials. Although formerly the mines had poor working conditions those who work them are now guaranteed access to food and shelter. Pride also has a strong community of martial artists who practice mech combat as a sport Plane of Nil 13%, Ruled by the Tenth God A nonexistent plane that is somehow drawing in followers anyways. Due to not having any negative connotations attached to it like the seven real planes, the Tenth God has been drawing many followers into his fold Currency: There are two types of currency in Tempest: Favor and Dirks. Dirks are small, manmade coins that come in several values and are used to trade for items and services. Favor is a purely electronic currency that can only be earned via mech combat. They are spent when modifying mechs. Since the players are the top 8 mech fighters, neither of these matter too much, but you should still know Phases: This RP will run in three phases, which I may cut off should they begin to take too long. The main one is the Combat phase. This is when fights occur and things take forever. Since it's the most important, I'll give you the most time here. Next up is the Travel phase. During this phase you'll be able to interact with the others as well as make modifications to your mech. Finally, the Audience phase, during which you will be granted a short audience with a Plane's god. The phases will loop Audience>Combat>Travel Audience Phase The audience phase will allow one post each. You may perform one verbal and one physical action, you may freely forfeit both by choosing not to attend the audience (simply let me know here in the OOC that this is your choice). At the start of your post please put in bold which verbal and physical actions your character takes After all actions have been sorted, the god will tell a little about their land’s history Verbal actions Say nothing Talk to the god Talk to Black Idol Talk to the others Say something characterizing Ask the god a question Ask Black Idol a question Ask another contestant a question. If they have already posted they may make a second post to respond. If they answer your question it does not count towards their verbal action Physical actions Do nothing Do something polite Do something rude Do something characterizing Walk out Combat Phase The most open phase. The only thing required of you is that you fight with your opponent and come to decide on a winner within a reasonable time. If your fight is taking to long or both parties request it, the winner shall be determined by coinflip. Each Combat Phase will be accompanied by a matchup analysis in the OOC Travel Phase During the travel phase you get two actions and may use them as you please. Most activities will take one action, but there are exceptions. Unlike the other social phase, Audience, there is no limit on posts. However if things are taking too long I will end the travel phase and all unused actions will go to waste. When beginning a post that uses an action please place in bold what activity you are doing Standard activities (all cost 1 action): Do nothing. A way to junk actions if you want to specifically run through them. Performing this action after being asked a question will allow you to avoid answering and cost no extra actions Visit the Diviner. Allows you to make modifications to your mech or ask the Diviner a question Modify Mech (only possible if you chose to visit the Diviner). You may make a single change to your mech (note: this will mostly be done OOC) Ask another contestant a question. When asked a question you are required to respond which will cause you to forfeit one of your actions. Characters with the two-point bonus from the Social stat will not lose an action and may choose whether or not to answer with no consequences Do something characterizing that doesn’t involve anyone else Do something characterizing that involves someone else. If your action would involve someone else, they must have agreed to participate beforehand and will also be charged an action Special activities (free actions may only be performed once per Travel Phase): Attend Black Idol’s concert (2 actions). During every travel phase, Black Idol will perform for the contestants. At this concert she will generally tell you a bit about the world. You may use this action to avoid questions from others Check mech data (2 actions). You may choose to check the data on your next tournament opponent’s mech. This will provide you with a random piece of information on their mech at the start of the next combat phase which will give you an advantage over them. There is a 25% of the Diviner catching you, which will result in you losing your access to the “Visit the Diviner” activity, the 3-point observational skill if you have it, and this activity during the next travel phase (but you’ll still get the info) Ask black idol a question (free, only possible if you attend Black Idol’s concert). After Black Idol finishes, you may ask her one question which she will always answer Ask the Diviner a question (free, only possible if you chose to visit the Diviner). If you visited the Diviner may ask him a question, however he may prove unwilling to answer or cryptic in his response Visit the food car (free, may not be performed if you went to the concert or the Diviner and prevents doing these actions). You may choose to visit the food car and get a bite to eat outside of meal time. The food car only has one table, so you’ll be exposing yourself to questions (which cannot be avoided with “do nothing,” but can be avoided with 2 social points) and conversations Talk to the table (1 action, only if you visited the food car and there is someone else there). You may strike up a conversation with everyone else who is currently in the food car. Participating will not cost them points and they cannot simply ignore it. Note that the topic must not cover anything related to the fighting in the tournament, however talking about others involved with the tournament but not at the food car is totally fine Use 3-point social skill (1-action). If you’ve had at least one conversation with another character for any reason (can be achieved with the “Talk to the table” action, asking a question of them, having them ask a question of you, or having spoken to them during the Combat Phase) you may use this skill to discern what their greatest sin is Use 3-point observational skill (free, activates the “Visit the Diviner” activity for free). If you have three points in observation, you may use this skill a to learn what weapon your next opponent will be using Everything is Combat: Keep in mind that everything about this RP is about the tournament. Even social interactions are in fact social warfare. Thus, this RP is going to have a bit of disruption to the immersion in favor of mechanics Mechs: Each character will posses a suit of battle armor, usually a humanoid not much larger than they are, unique to them (think like IS or Accel World) which is usually referred to simply as a mech. No mech is ever at a truly unwinnable disadvantage to another mech, however there is a system in place for helping determine the basics of a mech's strengths and weaknesses. The following are the ratings you will be asked to provide. There will be a bit more info on this in the character creation section. But for now just know that the standard "meta" is to have high firepower and high armor with a defensive special ability Speed: Pretty easy to comprehend, gives an idea of how fast you can move. Keep in mind that this is about mobility, not reflexes every mech is even when it comes to the speed of their joints Melee: A mech's affinity for close ranged fighting. Takes into account strength and weaponry combined, so keep in mind that a high melee mech may still be physically weak or that an unarmed mech may still be able to overpower you in melee combat. Also keep in mind that melee weapons basically just means "not guns." Weapons that are thrown or have a long reach such as knives or flails still qualify as melee Firepower: How much a mech can shoot. Lasers, projectile weapons, and explosives all go under this category Armor: How much of a beating a mech can take. Most mechs have all-purpose armor, but there are specialty armors which can be used to keep this rating deceptively low for certain opponents (EX: anti-projectile armor that is useless against anything else is a low rating, but a projectile only user will be in trouble) There are also forcefields for dealing with energy-based attacks such as lasers and explosives Special Ability: An ability more or less unique to each mech (there's multiple people who can fly and stuff like that, but generally Tempest's residents go for more unique abilities, especially in the Plane of Pride) This ability can be used to cancel a weakness, play to your strengths, etc. A mech comes built in with an ability when a person activates it that is meant to fit that person, but the ability isn't hard to change with enough Favor. Signature Attack: Much like the above, but specifically an attack. A lot of people use this as a large finishing ability, but it can more or less be anything. The only catch is that it must have specific conditions under which it can be activated, thus the common condition of, "I'm going in to finish them off." Rules: Keep calm. I know you don't want to lose, but you're going to lose. If all else fails I can flip a coin to decide a winner, or you could try to work things out calmly No metagaming. This one is pretty big since metagaming is actually sort of in the rules. Keep in mind that, unless someone tells them, your character will only know the ratings of the other player's mechs, not their exact abilities. So even if you know that their "melee" is actually shuriken, don't have your character go in expecting attacks from afar Try to keep Suism to a minimum. Instead of the default "no Sues" I'm going to keep in mind that Suism is a fluid concept and that there's no line where things go from "not-Sue" to "Sue." So instead, just try to keep yoursuelf in check. I'll certainly let you know if you go overboard No godmodding, powerplaying, and etc. The other generic RP taboos. Just because I'm not going out of my way to explain them doesn't mean you should do them MURDER I mean, um, have fun and stuff Character Sheet: Forum Name: [Yes, this is necessary] Character Name: [Aliases only are allowed in the case of a concealed identity] Alias: [Your character's professional name, usually related to their mech's appearance] Age: [should be no less than 14 and no more than 30] Gender: [Gender, that thing where you generate derp] Sin: [Which of the seven sins your character is most guilty of, limit two of anything because otherwise we'll have to much of everything] Appearance: [What your character looks like] Mech Appearance: [What they look like in their mech] Personality: [Doesn't need to be extensive, but do use complete sentences] Motivation: [Why your character joined the tournament] Mechs Stats: [You have seventeen points to distribute across these stats, we've been over them so I won't explain them again. These can be modified slightly over the course of the RP. Put points into each and then explain what the mech has to fit these ratings] Speed: [six point bonus: Teleport once per fight] Melee: [six point bonus: Instantly disengage from the enemy once per fight] Firepower: [six point bonus: Auto-land a hit once per fight, overrides character dodges but doesn't prevent blocking such as with Armor's six bonus] Armor: [six point bonus: Become completely invulnerable to any and all attacks once per fight] Signature Attack: [Note, costs two points and may not be removed once added, although it may be altered] Special Ability: [Although not hard to change, you will likely not be granted to opportunity to do so] Character Stats: [surprise! Your character has stats too, well, more like abilities really. These are inherent and cannot be changed. You only have three points for these. When using limited-use abilities, please use brackets to note that you've done so] Observance: [How much your character notices things. One point allows your character to learn another character's age and gender, even if they are behind a mask or other disguise. Two points lets your character to learn the conditions for an enemy's signature attack after they've used it once. And three points allows you to learn what sort of weapons your next opponent will use during the Travel phase] Reflex: [How quickly your character reacts. One point lets your character almost instantly switch between weapons if they have multiples. Two points allows your character to avoid any non-signature hit in a fight no matter how unlikely, once per fight of course. Three points allows the two point effect to occur a second time Social: [Your character's social skills. One point allows verbal warfare during combat, letting your character attempt to psyche the other out. Two points allows you to dodge any and all questions asked of you, letting you keep your secrets--albeit seeming a tad suspicious in doing so. Three points lets them discern another character's Sin after a single conversation] Other: Anything else to share? And that should be everything, feel free to ask questions because I'm sure I forgot something
Shamitako
Information that all contestants are privy to. Having your character know this is not metagaming Characters: Adam, played by KosherKitten Forum Name: KosherKoneko/Kitten Character Name: Adam (no last name) Alias: Silent Requiem Age: 19 Gender: Male Sin: Pride Appearance: Adam is tall and thin, but always slouching. His white hair is wild and spiky, going in all directions. His mouth and eyes are set in an endless smirk. He dresses casually, preferring not to stick out, generally wearing blue jeans and a grey hoodie with white sneakers. He has several scars on his chest from an accident he had when he was younger Mech Appearance: Adam's mech is a perfect sphere of a little under 10 feet in diameter colored in a deep blue. It has no limbs or outward protrusions, allowing it to move omnidirectionally by rolling around Personality: Adam is a man who knows no fear. He has always lived life by throwing himself into danger. Miraculously, he's also always made it out alive. He developed quite the ego, loudly proclaiming he would become a god. During his apprenticeship under the First God, he shaped himself further, soon reaching the point where his constant boasting was backed by true strength. He's one of the strongest fighters in all of Tempest and is more than willing to make sure everyone else knows it In a fight he very rarely takes things seriously, generally toying with his opponent before quickly finishing them off. However for the tournament he is likely to forgo a lot of his joking, as his godhood is on the line Motivation: Adam is the First God's trainee, the successor to the Plane of Pride. The tournament is not just a move by the First God to stop the Tenth God, it is also a proving ground for Adam. Should he become the champion and defeat the Tenth God, he is to choose the Plane of Pride as his prize. Should he lose, however, he will lose his inheritance and be banished for marring his Plane's pride Mechs Stats: Speed: 5. Moves quite quickly and, as previously mentioned, omnidirectionally due to its spherical shape Melee: 3. Capable of ramming and dealing high damage. Also possesses extendable blades in many locations on the surface that allow it to rip into enemy armor Firepower: 1. Has a good number of small machine guns hidden under panels in its armor. These weapons do very little damage and exist largely for altering terrain Armor: 5. Very thick armor meant to withstand physical hits so that Silent Requiem can ram his foes. It is resistant to explosions but will struggle against lasers and other non-kinetic attacks Signature Attack: Alpha Screech. Emits an extremely high-pitched wavelength that cannot be properly heard, but causes great pain to the head, disrupting concentration and leaving an opponent open for a follow-up attack. The conditions for this attack are "my opponent is off-balance and I want to maintain momentum" Special Ability: Perfect Balance. The mech's armor is capable of balancing itself out so that it remains perfectly spherical and never dents. If it is punctured then it can fill itself in, however the entire surface will become slightly thinner because of this Character Stats: Observance: 2 Not much gets past Adam, but his pride can cause him to miss things Reflex: 0 Although his reflexes are nothing to sneeze at, most of the other top fighters have better reflexes than Adam Social: 1 Adam loves to toy with his opponent's heads, he feels best when he has a clear advantage physically, robotically, and mentally Other: "You think you can beat me? A future god? My what a moron you must be. Hahaha!" Hiroki, played by Adamance Ascendant Forum Name: Adamance Ascendant Character Name: Yukimura Hiroki Alias: The Hellfire Knight Age: 15 Gender: Female Sin: Wrath Appearance: A girl with fairly light skin and a rather small frame, even for her age, standing at about 4'8" or 142 cm. She has the unusual combination of somewhat large violet eyes and fine, hip-length silver hair. She's about as well-muscled as you'd expect the average fifteen year old teenage girl to be. Overall, her face lends itself to an impression of looking rather refined and aristocratic. She generally wears a dark-colored skirt with a lighter, long-sleeved top, both with violet accents to complement her eyes. She will occasionally pair this with leggings, and if she's feeling particularly adventurous (which is rare) she'll get a shorter skirt to achieve grade B zettai ryouiki. Of course, this is when she's not trying to hide her identity. She will wear platform shoes and a drab cloak that covers most of her body, and avoid speaking if at all possible. She wears a device on the left side of her face, running from her throat to her chin. Just below her chin is a speaker; the device picks up vibrations from her throat and acts as a voice changer, turning her small whispers (so no one hears her real voice) into a clearly artificial voice of some kind, which she changes on occasion. Mech Appearance: Hiroki's mech is quite bulky, making her appear larger than she really is upon initially sighting her piloting it. Its most striking features are the large cannon mounted at about the elbow of the right arm, and the "wings" that are actually an array of thrusters and guns. The cannon is orange and has a hexagonal shape, extending almost down to the feet in a neutral position, with the distinctive yellow and black "caution" pattern in a stripe at the end of it. There's a squarish panel on the back underneath which many of the important systems are housed, though this is of course covered by the heaviest armor. The plating overall is a dark gray, with faulds protecting the waist area. The chest and legs are divided into four plates each. The outer and inner edges of each plate on the chest have blue stripes along them, and similar stripes are found along each joint of the mech. An orange glow can be seen leaking from underneath the plating. The mech also features a somewhat angular helmet covering her whole face, the visor leaving just her eyes and nose visible. The visor darkens in response to intense light. Finally, it also has two shoulder-mounted cannons that can be set to automatic fire or slaved to the main gun. Personality: Contrary to her elegant appearance, Hiroki is rather jittery and easy to upset, and doesn't appear to handle stress particularly well. However, she's also stubborn (though easily frustrated, this will rarely cause her to actually give up on something) in the extreme, doubly so if it involves winning an argument or otherwise proving herself correct. She's also in possession of a rather fragile ego. Despite this, or perhaps because of this, she's determined to prove that she's at least equal to everyone else, if not better. Motivation: See above. Hiroki's stubbornness and determination led her to striving for greater and greater heights in this tournament, and this is one of the few things she considers herself competent at. Mechs Stats: Speed: 2. It actually hovers off the ground slightly for most of the fight, but it's really, really, really slow. More accurately, it has very poor acceleration and therefore maneuverability, though its top speed is actually quite high in comparison and floating makes it possible to strafe - though how useful this will be is questionable given the speed it will typically be moving at. Melee: 4. The mech lacks any truly specialized melee weapons, but the powerful servos make the mech capable of delivering punishing melee blows. The cannon was also designed and built with being used to club opponents in mind as a secondary function. Being able to float off the ground also frees her legs up to make kicks much easier to deliver. The sheer mass of the plating also adds that much more force to the blows. Firepower: 6. The mech's main cannon is incredibly powerful and the mech's powerplant is more than enough to match. Alongside this, it has auxiliary cannons mounted on the backs of the legs, and the "wings" are mostly an array of more guns and thrusters for control. Overall it's capable of firing an absurd number of low-powered bursts or concentrated, powerful beams. Some of the wing-mounted guns are slaved to the main gun, aiming and firing together with it. The leg guns essentially respond when Hiroki kicks. The main cannon can fire beams, bursts, or exploding packets of plasma, as well as creating a short ranged "plasma cutter" for melee. Armor: 5. Heavy plating and strong joints allow the thing to physically take quite the beating, and the majority of the wing-mounted cannons are controlled by an internal targeting system for the purpose of point defense - attempting to shoot down incoming projectiles. The plating is also designed with energy dispersal in mind, able to take a number of energy-based attacks before failing. Signature Attack: None. Hiroki's strategy doesn't rely on a single finishing blow; rather she simply batters down her opponents with a withering barrage of superheated plasma. Special Ability: Hellfire Mantle. The mech can direct its power into a superhot field of plasma surrounding itself, and this field can be discharged in a chosen direction allowing for a burst of acceleration or as the opener to a barrage. It takes a moment or two to form, however, disables the usage of all of the guns, and can't be maintained for too long due to the fact that it overloads the mech's cooling systems. Character Stats: Observance: 1. Though initial conversations with her might not reveal this, Hiroki is fairly intelligent. Reflex: 2. She gets hit, a lot. She tries very hard to not allow this to happen and has gotten much better at it. Social: 0. Any attempt at trying to wage psychological warfare would probably just end up with her flustering herself. Other: She's also a pretty good singer. (She's an alto.) Tai, played by IntSys Forum Name: IntSys Character Name: Tai Alias: Supernova Age: 21 Gender: Male Sin: Gluttony Appearance: A young man with short, red hair and yellow skin. He usually wears an unzipped jacket on top of his white shirt, a pair of sports jeans, and a pair of red sneakers. Fitting his personality, his clothing is generally very loose. He's of average height, but his bright smile makes him stand out in a crowd. Mech Appearance: Tai's mech isn't very bulky, allowing swifter movements. Exhaust ports are laid all over the body, preventing overheating from the inside. The chest of the mech is the biggest part of the mech, and it houses the Fire-Shield system, which powers on the heat of the mech. It also has four flame cannons attached to it. The arms and legs of the mech are completely covered with orange heatproof armor plates, with yellow stripes from top to bottom. The back of the mech is attached with powerful thruster rockets, providing high-speed movement and good handling. The mech's main features are the large and powerful fists, colored in black with orange stripes connecting the joints. The armor plated on top of them are much tougher compared to the rest of the mech. The palms contain mini-cannons which can shoot out laser blasts. The feet of the mech are colored in black with a yellow heel. Finally, Tai's head is completely covered by a red heatproof helmet with a black visor. Personality: Tai works hard and plays hard. Like, really, really hard. As such, he's always wearing a big smile on his face, even when fighting, because he knows he's gonna "reward" himself with excessive partying. Tai is also very energetic due to this. Motivation: Tai wants to be the god of the Plane of Gluttony. He considers going through the tournament and killing the Tenth God altogether to be the hardest work there is, and it should have the best reward of all jobs -- Eternal satisfaction. Mechs Stats: Speed: 6. Tai's mech has powerful thruster rockets to give him incredible speed and handling, on the surface and in the air. Melee: 6. The mech's fists are absolute jawbreakers. On top of the velocity the rockets give, the fists can deal devastating damage upon impact. Firepower: 1. The flame cannons on top of the chest can't actually be aimed, and only serves as a way to repel enemy approaches. The mini-cannons in the palms do the same thing to similar extents as well. However, the fire rate is stupidly high, making the cannons extremely good at their jobs. Armor: 2. The heatproof armor is there to prevent backward heat-flow when the Fire-Shield is activated, so it's only slightly good at resisting energy-based attacks. It's comparably frail toward physical blows. Signature Attack: Nova Strike. Tai puts the thruster rockets to maximum power and turn all the heat into a powerful energy shield, which gives incredibly high resistance against energy attacks. He then blasts toward the enemy, breaking his/her shield if there is one, and delivers a powerful punch. The shield dissipates shortly after the punch lands. The condition for this Signature Attack is "The opponent is in a defensive position and I have enough heat stored!" Special Ability: Fire-Shield. Tai turns the heat generated from the thruster engines into a shield made of flames, coating the entire mech. This shield can resist energy attacks pretty well and transfer heat to the opponent upon physical contact. It also reinforces Tai's fists with flames, powering them up. As long as the Fire-Shield is active, the mech won't overheat. Note that this shield differs from the energy shield used in Nova Strike, and they do not stack on top of each other. Character Stats: Observance: 0. Tai doesn't care about details too much, he just cares about the results. Reflex: 3. To accommodate the high-speed movement the mech provides, Tai trained himself to have incredibly good reflexes. Social: 0. Tai does his own things alone, even when partying. As such, he rarely engages in conversation with others. Other: (Nope!) Kagari, played by Acqui Forum Name: Code: PIRULUK/Acquiescence/Mechanical Lily Character Name: Koizumi Kagari Alias: LOLI_HUNTER Age: 18 Gender: Female Sin: Lust Appearance: Long, brown hair tied into a ponytail, which is held in place by butterfly-motif hairclips. Black eyes, often hidden behind sunglasses. On the tall side for a girl, with perky B-cups. She tends to dress in highly revealing, light clothing. Except when she's stalking a loli. Then she dresses heavily, wearing multiple layers, along with a cap and sunglasses, to hide her profile and identity. Mech Appearance: Her mech is characterised by long limbs. Contrary to her love of lolis, her mech stands rather tall, with long, slender, multiple-jointed arms and legs. Her manipulators are large and edged, allowing her to claw opponents when necessary. The sides of her limbs are adorned with compartments holding her various weapons, and a circular container on her back holds her 16 flying Bits. The entire ensemble is stark white in color, save for pink Sakura motifs on her shoulders and back. Personality: She is a self-proclaimed irredeemable lolicon. She loves all lolis, and finds beauty in them. Her obsession runs so deep that it's common for her to set aside a full day to just pick a loli and stalk her and observe her actions. It's gotten her in trouble with the law on more than one occasion. When she's not obsessing over lolis, however, she is a girl who gives off a "cool" impression, saying little. Motivation: She heard that the person who won would be granted godhood and rule over one plane. Naturally, she immediately saw this as an opportunity to engineer her dream plane, a plane populated with nothing but cute lolis. What other reason does a woman need to fight? Mechs Stats: Speed: 4. The Mech has multiple hidden thrusters on its arms, legs, back, head and basically everywhere, designed to let it change direction and break momentum easily. Speed-wise she may not be the fastest, but she's very agile. Melee: 6. The mech is heavily melee-specialised, with a myriad of weapons. At the latest count, her arsenal included, but is not limited to, knives, swords, spears, maces, claws, knuckledusters, wires and leg blades.[six point bonus: Instantly disengage from the enemy once per fight] Firepower: 4. To supplement her melee attacks, learning from experience fighting the ridiculous number of ranged opponents, she has incorporated ranged weaponry into her arsenal. That said, she has terrible aim. So all she has is a bit system, with multiple smaller self-propelled slave guns attached to a holder on her back, that can move freely at her direction and fire independently based on a rudimentary AI. She tends to use these to provide support or pressure fire. Armor: 3. With all her armament, she didn't really have much space left for armor. She has relatively average armor, enough to stop an ordinary blow and a low-to-medium-caliber bullet. Would fail against high-caliber armament and powerful crushing attacks. Signature Attack: 0. Her fighting style places an emphasis on maneuverability and versatility; she doesn't have any one attack she can consider a signature. Special Ability: Loli Battery. The power of loli compels her on an instinctive level. As long as there is a loli in sight, all her parameters are boosted by 1. If any loli shouts at her to get up after she falls, once per battle, she can revive in a damaged condition, with all parameters boosted by 2. Character Stats: Observance: 2. Her strong obsession with lolis and her stalker-like tendencies have caused her to develop a sharp eye for even the tiniest details. When you're recording down how many times a loli yawned in a twenty-four-hour time period to the exact millisecond, it's hard to not develop inhuman observation skills. Reflex: 1. Years of practice evading notice, suspicion, and the law have allowed her to develop reflexes which are far higher than a normal human's. Social: 0. She spends half her time not talking, and the other half obsessing over lolis. Neither of these are really socially acceptable activities. Other: She's actually a rather talented singer, with a great mezzosoprano range. Needs to be motivated to actually bother though. Sully, played by Stratos Forum Name: StratosCharacter Name: Solomon "Sully" RykeAlias: The RevenantAge: 25Gender: MaleSin: PrideAppearance: A dark-skinned male standing at a rough 5'9", bearing a well toned and powerful physique. His hair is darker than the night itself, bound in dreadlocks cascading down around his shoulders and upper back and framing a diamond shaped face with an upturned nose, almond-shaped amber eyes so vibrantly deep they nigh appear the shade of dying embers, and a tightly trimmed goatee. His outfit of choice is a black muscle shirt displaying his thoroughly sculpted arms and the myriad of black tribal tattoos scrawling their way down their length, along with charcoal grey trousers bloused into similarly dark boots at the upper calves. The pair of sleek, silver and neon orange safety glasses resting on his head is aren't an uncommon sight, nor is the charcoal gray jacket tied around his waistMech Appearance: The Mech is slim and sleek in build, it's armored-form darker than the night itself, accented in the deepest of crimson linework flowing down it's limbs with swirled patterns arcing across it's chest and back. It bears elongated projections on either shoulder, serving as built in pauldrons as well as concealed storage docks, while it's chest armor serves as the centerpiece of the body, bearing a similar elongated form. It's Triangular Helm has a singular, diagonal projection arching forwards from it's center, with a visor burning with the same sinister crimson light as it's intricate accenting work. Numerous small, spherical devices, "Tesla Spheres" as Solomon calls them, lie visibly docked into depressions in it's limbs and body, and exert a constant, electromagnetic field which both powers the mech's needs as well as enhances it's combat abilities, while a large, metallic sheath lies fixed diagonally across it's back, often bearing Solomon's main arm and weapon of choice, the Katana called Ragnarok, though at it's hips there are two smaller sheaths, housing a set of twin plasma sabers. It's sleek arms end in just as sleek fingers the color of fresh blood, Hidden in the palms of the mech's hands are a pair of laser cutter aparati.Personality: ISTP. A friendly yet highly brash fellow, never one to back down from a decent challenge. He's not afraid to admit fair and square when he's been bested however (or, for that matter, to boast and brag about things if the outcome is the otherway around), nor is he afraid to voice his mind without filter, calling shit exactly as he sees it with little concern over whether or not it's exactly "Tactful" to do so at that moment. Having dealt with more than just a few bullies as a boy, he sees the act of actively trash talking or using verbal warfare against an opponent as a cowardly tactic that only signifies the true extent of the hidden weaknesses and insecurities one hides in one's own heart. The only thing worse to him than trash talking is the use of cheating in order to win a challenge. As loud as he often is, the only thing that speaks even louder than his words are his actions, and he won't hesitate to back up the former with the latter if needed...Motivation: A bet he made with his girlfriend (and on-again/off-again rival of sorts) Sasha over a few drinks one late evening at the shop. An advertisement for the tourney played over the airwaves, and after a bit of his typical bragging about how totally sure he was that he could conquer the other competitors with his eyes closed, to which Sasha countered she'd kick his ass long before he ever got that far. Never one to back down from the lady's challenges, he didn't hesitate to accept. The terms were very simple, by the end of the first thirty days of individual conflicts, whoever had the most Favor between the two of them would be the winner. Except they weren't that simple. By the last day of the challenge period, both Solomon and Sasha were evenly tied for the exact same amount. There was only one way to settle it... her guns versus his blades. the victor would go on to the inner circle, the loser would have to swallow their damn pride and stay home. Sasha... didn't talk very much to him that night as she helped him pack. He was nice enough not to brag like an ass for once. Even with the only victory he really cared about under his belt now though, the mechanic didn't see any reason to just take it all the way home, see it all through to the end since he'd already gotten so far, plus he always was one to appreciate a good challenge. If he won the whole thing, then great, if he lost... well, at least he'd go out of the competition with a bang.Mechs Stats: Speed: 6 [Bearing immensely powerful legs, a carefully tailored Load-out to reduce it's overall weight, and the ability to launch itself at high speeds, hover, and amplify it's physical motions by manipulating the constant EMFs it emits, Revenant specializes in the art of outmaneuvering and quickly closing in on opponents, and retreating just as quickly if necessary.] Melee: 8 [With high-powered, modded servos granting it Mammoth amounts of raw physical strength, the mech is easily powerful enough to deal extensive damage with crushing unarmed strikes alone, and it's use of EM augmentation only further amplifies it's innate might. It's main Armament, Ragnarok, is a circular blade resembling a chakram. Crafted out of an incredibly durable alloy and equipped with high-frequency oscillation to greatly increase it's raw cutting power, it is also capable of rotating it's blade in place much like a circular saw, and can even be thrown as a high speed projectile whose trajectory can be freely controlled by the Tesla Pulse, as well as being able to split into multiple, smaller blades to attack enemies from multiple angles at once. The mech additionally relies on two plasma sabers as backup arms. The hilts of said backups are made of the same alloy as Ragnarok itself and are capable of interlocking with each other to form a Saberstaff, while the lengths of the actual blades can be extended to keep approaching opponents at bay.] Firepower: 1 [The Tesla Spheres can be used to generate high-power electrical blasts to assault enemies from a distance, only scorching or slightly melting the surface of most armors, but doing far more extensive damage beneath the surface as it ravages their internal circuitry and electrical systems.] Armor: 2 [solomon's mech employs a specially built dampening field which heavily buffers energy-based damage, sitting over the top of the mech's exterior like a sleek, invisible skin. The weight of the generator of this field however, comes at the cost of having to sacrifice quite a bit of physical plating in order to maintain the ratio of speed to mass. As a result, his remaining armor can do little against kinetic attacks, forcing the mech to rely on constant Repulsion Fields created by the Tesla Pulse in order to mitigate the weakness, though even they are only effective at warding off metallic attacks and projectiles.] Signature Attack: None Special Ability: Tesla Pulse. By manipulating the electromagnetic fields emitted by the Tesla Spheres, Solomon can concentrate their energy to form small scale EMPs as well as powerful repulsion and attraction fields. the EMPs can be fired towards opponent units to temporarily disrupt and damage their electrical systems and interfering with processes such as targeting, visual input, audio feed, movement, etc. to create an opening for him to close in; however, while they are more effective at disrupting systems for longer than the mech's raw electrical blasts, EMPs come at the cost of requiring a significantly higher amount of power to be drawn and diverted from the mech, and overusing them will easily result in Solomon's own mech unit becoming virtually dead in the water for a time as the spheres work to build up a sufficient enough power supply needed to operate it again. The Repulsion and Attraction Fields meanwhile, require very minikin energy to maintain, and can be used for a variety of purposes, from repelling metallic projectiles and even melee attacks by repulsing them, amplifying solomon's motions and strikes by actively propelling his mech's limbs in a desired direction using a repulsing field, to forcing back opponents that draw too close or drawing them in even closer for Solomon to Attack, as well as propelling his own unit in a given direction at incredibly high speed. Character Stats: Observance: 1. Solomon's an incredibly intelligent bloke, that much easily becomes obvious the moment one sees him working on a mech or other piece of machinery, and while he's not about to go out of his way to try to dig up info or lean every little detail about someone like some obsessive stalker (feeling that doing so takes away from the suspense and rush of a fight... plus it's "kinda fucking creepy", as he likes to put it), he is at least observant enough to spot subtle details such as the way one carries themselves, physical stature, body language, etc. when he encounters someone. Reflex: 2. The training with his old man when he was a kid did wonders teaching him the fact that if your reflexes are shit, you're gonna get hit; how can you expect to beat a damn bully if you can't even block or feint out of the way fast enough? Those same training sessions proved more valuable than even gold when he finally became old enough to move up from fist-fights in the school yards and streets, to actual mech-combat. Social: 0. Talk is cheap. That's honestly all Solomon has to say to those who enjoy verbal warfare. "Talk shit, get hit" has always been among his favorite mottos. Other: He's a mechanic, studied under his father and has been working on mechs among other devices and machinery for nearly his entire life. When the man died a few years ago, Solomon was left to run the garage himself. He knows the technology better than the back of his own hand. He's also well versed in the art of how to put away one's liquor... Morgan, played by Komodojoe Forum Name: Komodojoe Character Name: Morgan Belle Alias: Strider Age: 17 Gender: Female Sin: Envy Appearance: A lightly tan skinned girl with a slim and somewhat athletic build while standing with a fair size of 5'8, Morgan has shoulder length jet black hair along with a pair of yellow eyes and a set of round glasses to accommodate for her poor eyesight. Her outfit usually consists of a simple red shirt with a tan jacket covering it, a pair of jeans, and a pair of red sneakers. However, this may slightly change to fit in with the crowd better. Mech Appearance: While Morgan's mech is pretty bulky, it's not really meant for strength enhancing purposes. A lot of the bulk comes from the numerous built in jet boosters and weapon holsters. The rest is for the armor. Strider has a large generator on it's back that draws in a lot of excess energy that is accumulated, which can be used to distribute said energy throughout the rest of the mech, or it can all be put into the large cannon on the back of it's right shoulder, which, when extended, is actually drawn and aimed over the right shoulder. The color scheme is mainly red with thick blue lines running down the sides and various blue patches on various joints throughout the body. The helmet shape looks like an upside down U and has another blue line running down the middle and sides. The mech's visor consists of two circular, glowing blue eyes that seem to just stare right into your very core. Personality: Morgan is, for the most part, both a kind and shy girl. She'll try her best to help others in almost any way, shape, or form. But at the same time, you'll usually be the one trying to start up any sort of conversation. That being said, you'll have to ask her for her help nine times out of ten. Despite Morgan's kindness, she gets pretty competitive out of both jealousy and the fact that she wants to become better at whatever it is that makes her want to compete in the first place. Not to mention that she hates to lose. She also has quite the short temper when it comes to inflated egos and showoffs. Motivation: Morgan's abundance of envy was the very reason that she signed up. Not because she wants to be better than the rest, but because she wants to get rid of all of that jealousy and anger that's followed her throughout her life. She doesn't even really care about this promise of godhood and ruling over the planes and whatnot. She's really just doing this because she feels as if once all of this is over, she'll finally be able to let go of the burdens of negativity that she's been carrying all of these years. Her Goal is to climb as high up as she possibly can and be happy with where she is in life. If she wins it all, then she knows that she'll be able to leave it all behind. If she loses, then hopefully she'll be able to accept her fate and find some other way to rid herself of the envy that's been haunting her. Mechs Stats: Speed: 5. Strider has various jets built in throughout it's body that allow for speed, strafing, and some aerial movement, allowing for quite a bit of flexibility in combat. Melee: 1. This mech's gauntlets emit an offensive shield to pummel others with when her guns can't do the job for whatever reason. The damage they deal is highly dependent on Strider's velocity toward the opponent and vice versa. Basically, they'll do more damage the faster they're charging at each other, less damage if one is retreating and the other is pursuing, and the least amount of damage if they're both retreating. If both combatants are standing still or if the pursuer and the one retreating are equal in speed, they'll do as much damage as you'd expect. Firepower: 6. Strider's equipped with numerous weapons. The mech has two heavy machine guns built into the arms that are mainly used at short to midrange and when strafing is required, a shotgun with cryogenic rounds for when Miss Belle really needs to get up close, and a railgun for mid to long range combat. Armor: 3. Strider's armor is made up of a durable, yet lighter metallic alloy so the weight of the armor doesn't cut back on speed and maneuverability as much as it should. While the armor does provide a solid defense, there are definitely others that can do it's job better. Signature Attack: Revenge Blast. Using the cannon that's directly hooked up to the generator on Strider's back, it will use all of that excess power to fire a powerful laser that deals double the damage that it took while it's EAS was activated. The conditions for this attack are "take damage while Special Ability is active." Special Ability: Energy Absorption Shield (EAS). Strider boosts its armor significantly at the cost of some firepower and speed... usually more on the latter than the former. But at the same time, it also gains energy from any damage that's inflicted to it, which can be used to temporarily boost the mech's current parameters as it's pilot sees fit, or initiate Revenge Blast. The energy that is gained with this doesn't have to be used right away, but it will start depleting if it's held for too long. Character Stats: Observance: 2. Morgan's glasses have opened up a new perspective for her (literally... she would almost be blind without them), allowing her to keep a sharp eye on her opponent to watch for any suspicious moves and/or reactions to gain the advantage. Reflex: 1. Ms. Belle has a bit of a sleight of hand when it comes to switching weapons, allowing her to have a bit more flexibility in combat. Social: 0. Being as shy as she is, Morgan doesn't have very good social skills. Nor can she really keep a secret. She's practically an open book, to be honest. Other: Morgan is very fond of many kinds of music. When you put together a good style of music with the right vocals, she'll practically go into a trance as she sits idly with her eyes closed, allowing her to better focus on the melody that plays before her. ... She also has a bit of a weakness to sweets surrounding the strawberry-flavored variety. Mommo, played by Bfroger Forum Name: Bfroger6Character Name: Mommo MikuriAlias: The Slumbering GiantAge: 20Gender: FemaleSin: SlothAppearance: Mommo's body is unbefitting of a 20-year old woman. Unripe and of small proportions (152cm/37kg), with her dark, bob-cut hair, one couln't easily determine her real age. Her eyes, looming above her pale but round, child-like soft cheeks and mouth constantly agape, dull and always halfway-shut, like she's sleepwalking, dart with unusual lucidity, scanning through her surroundings whenever she's up, two shining silver mirrors hiding the never-stopping gears so they could work safely shrouded deep inside her enigmatic brain... Usually clad in a simple, black dress without any motifs on it, and unfitting sock-slippers, carrying a weird, somewhat creepy teddy-bear pillow with herself wherever she goes. What? It provides her with sufficient neck-support inside her mech!Mech Appearance: Mommo's mech is big. Like, real big. While she stands at 152 cm, her mech stands at 221 (without the head)! How, you say? Because of armors. Lots and lots of layers of armor. Now, let's talk body shape. It's bulky. Think FE General armor kind of bulky. Or a more common example... That russian robot from Pacific Rim. When appearing around Mommo, she will first be enveloped in a separate armor of her own, a skin tight black armor that's more there for her to be able to more easily handle all the explosions and attacks that are bound to come at her mech, since, you know, it's really slow. In any case, her armor fits directly into the third and second layers of her mech's armor (is explained below) with a square accumulator attached to her back. It's her own self-sufficient power supply, and also the main console for all of the mech's functions, therefore, most guarded. That's why the armor on her back goes up to 50 cm of thickness. The other two layers of armor appear over her and connect in the middle, like a sort of clamp. The massive hands that double as energy cannons (way bulkier and larger than her own) attach themselves to both sides of her mech, followed by the legs...which are pretty much the same lenght as hers, just heavily armored like the rest. Her head is also covered by armor, as thick as the rest, so it kind of ends up looking like the mech has no head, instead she has a screen appear on her visor which shows her the area around. In fact, the whole middle of the mech serves as her cockpit (where she can comfortably lie down in this small, enclosed space, with her knees to her chin, but feet and hands on the controls, because that's what she does), so she's not the one moving around, she's the one ordering her mech aroundusing control sticks. But it works. The mech is dark grey, with silver linings along her arms and around all the uneven parts on her armor. The mech's too large rectangular pieces of armor make it very difficult to move.Personality: There is no easy way to describe Mommo's personality, with all its multiple layers and deep, phylosophical questions that clearly bother the child's poor soul... it would take at least a whole, extensive essay to be able to portray such a complicated interweb of various emotions, this primal soup, brimming with questions still unanswered, while trying to answer them all at the same time...! ...Or not. Mommo is, in fact, really simple, at least the part that she shows to others. She is clearly highly intelligent, cunning and motivated...while she's awake. You see, Mommo likes to spend her days moving as little as she can. When she really needs to, she can force herself to go to the bathroom or something, but most of the time, she's in a horizontal position with 'Z's floating above her head, or just laying there, she ain't gonna be picky, as long as she can laze. She built her own mech, but only so she could design it so that she doesn't have to move much while fighting. Really, every time she's done something in her life was so that she could spend as much time afterwards lazing her butt off. So yeah, she can really push it when she wants to, she just never does. That's just how she is. Oh, yeah, she also comes off as really pragmatic and cold, and is cranky when she wakes up.Motivation: Motivation is a fickle concept. It comes in many shapes and sizes, but what exactly is it? The drive that pushes one to do something, to accomplish something? What would Mommo want to accomplish? What could possibly be her reason!? Well... You can probably guess it already, right? Yeah, she wants to become god so she can laze for all eternity. Hooray for her! But yes, compared to an eternity of doing nothing, this ordeal she has to overcome appears as small as a speck of dust! And she can overcome some puny speck, and then she'll finally be free...Mechs Stats: [You have seventeen points to distribute across these stats, we've been over them so I won't explain them again. These can be modified slightly over the course of the RP. Put points into each and then explain what the mech has to fit these ratings] Speed: 1 - Mommo's mech is reeeeeeeeally sluggish! Like damn, even if she wanted to, she probably wouldn't be able to move it properly, that's just how much armor and firepower is crammed into this thing! But yeah, that was king of the point behind it. Melee: 2 - Although the mech itself is physically powerful and able to use its weight as a weapon, it's far too slow to do any of the sorts. The most it can do at close range is swing its gigantic cannon around. Firepower: 6 - Cluster grenade launchers in its shoulders, fists opening to reveal energy cannons, machine guns installed in its forearms, chest and every other small indent, rockets, flash-bombs, even laser kneecaps!!! and cannons on her back for those swift enemies. And to top it all off, a giant, 3 meter long, half a meter wide detachable cannon the mech can carry and launch powerful artillery at the enemy from. Mommo's mech is a walking artillery station! Armor: 6 - When you're really slow, you gotta make up for it by having heavy armor. Really heavy armor. Mommo's mech has three distinct layers of plating and defense. The first and outermost one are the energy barriers serving to protect the mech from direct contact with explosives and lasers. They weaken them just enough so that they don't harm the other plating layers way too much. The second layer is a tough, metallic allow, nearly 25 cm, but up to 50 cm thick in certain areas (sides of chest, back...) which protects the mech from diret attacks and takes the remaining punishment from the lasers/explosives. The third and innermost layer is the layer of sleek, black armor, not quite thick, but providing extra defense against slashing weaponry with its smooth surface set up at an angle unlike the outer layers so it could redirect direct slashes that manage to get through the second layer, minimizing the damage to the systems. The second layer is the heaviest, thickest and sturdiest, effective both against strikes and pierces. Signature Attack: 2 - "Earth... quake..." - Mommo uses her mech's size and weight, as well as its strenght to jump up and smash itself into the ground in the general direction of her enemy. While doing so, she sticks the giant cannon its mounting into the ground and blast it to cause a massive earthquake shaking the very foundation of the entire area around her, sure to dislodge any and all of the annoying enemies trying to be smart by running around all the time, preferably making them lose balance and stay vulnerable long enough to get shot at. The condition for this attack is: "Watashi no... enemy managed to evade my cluster grenade twice... Rude..." Special Ability: "Drop... armor..." - In case the second layer of her armor is heavily damaged, like, really damaged, she can have it detached and leave herself "exposed" with only the third and first layers, but far more mobile. This breaks the cockpit and leaves her in immediate control of her movements, as the mech is not too oversized for her to pilot it anymore. She's probably not gonna move much anyways... But it's still better than having to fight in a disfigured armor. When she does this, her Armor drops to 2, but her Speed goes up to 5. She also can't use her Signature Attack anymore, as her mech is no longer strong nor heavy enough. Character Stats: [surprise! Your character has stats too, well, more like abilities really. These are inherent and cannot be changed. You only have three points for these. When using limited-use abilities, please use brackets to note that you've done so] Observance: 1 - Mommo is perceptive enough to be able to notice some general signs other people could overlook without a special inspection. Reflex: 0 - Sleepy slowpokes and good reflexes don't go together. Social: 2 - Not a social butterfly, but very very very intelligent and capable of probing into the feeble minds of others. Also, pretty good at keeping her mouth shut. Maybe because she just doesn't care ~ Other: Anything else to share? - She likes laying in other people's laps while they pat her cutesy head. Lawrence, played by K_H Forum Name: K_H Character Name: Lawrence Lomellian Alias: Ricochet Age: 30 Gender: Male Sin: Pride Appearance: 6'10", red hair, caucasian complexion, blue eyes, lean and athletic build. Mech Appearance: His Mech packs a punch and is lightweight, but isn't bulky. It also has a pair of forward-facing ranged weapons, one on top of each shoulder. The one on the left is a missile launcher, while the one on the right is a laser gun. Personality: For the most part, he's pretty calm and generally somewhat laid-back. He does have a love of the thrill of all-out combat, but it's just hidden very deeply inside and tempered by years of experience in the ring. Motivation: He's in it mainly for the fun, but the prospect of ruling his own plane was also a big factor in it. Who wouldn't want to be able to create a plane mainly dedicated to whatever they wanted? Mechs Stats: Speed: 6. The fact that it's so lightweight affords lawrence an extreme amount of speed on the battlefield, and the fact that his hands are capable of being used like grappling hooks allows him the capability to go in directions that one might not expect for a mech that has no wings, depending on whether or not there's stuff above him that he can grab onto. Melee: 6. The Mech's heavy-duty servomotors allow his mech the capability to deal out devastating melee damage despite having no dedicated Melee Weaponry other than its fists. This also allows the mech to lift and throw things that are rather heavy. Firepower: 2. The fact that his mech's hands can shot off and then be retracted makes him capable of using them like long-range punches. The mech also has the two shoulder-mounted weapons for dealing extra ranged damage. However, these are the only long-range weapons that it has. Armor: 1. The mech is only very lightly armored, since Lawrence uses speed as a core part of his fighting style. Signature Attack: The One-Two-Whackarooney. He grabs his target at a distance, then makes his mech speed towards it by rapidly reeling in his mech's hands. Once he's collided with the target, he hits them with a very strong punch. The conditions for this are that he needs to be at long range from his opponent for this to work. Special Ability: Grappling hands. The mech's hands can be fired to any location and then quickly pulled back, either bringing back whatever they've grabbed onto with them or bringing the mech to whatever they've grabbed onto. Character Stats: Observance: 1. Fighting with a speed oriented style tends to result in a few "Loss by damage from a thousand Cuts" experiences. Most of the time, though, he pays attention to the weakpoints of his opponent's mech and hits hard in those locations. Reflex: 2. Having spent years in the ring using a combat style that tends to require quick reaction times tends to help one hone their reflexes to superhuman levels. Social: 0. Any attempt at waging psychological warfare would probably end in frustrated failure for Lawrence, despite his years of experience in the ring. Other: He's a hardened veteran of the ring, with a decade-and-a-half or so worth of fighting experience. NPCs: [Notes: If you wish to have a prior relation with any NPCs, including the gods, please PM me and we'll see if we can work something out All of the gods are NPCs, however their sheets will not be posted until your first audience with them, and will only possess information learned during the audience phase] Temperance Lucas, Libra Character Name: Temperance Lucas Alias: Libra Age: 15 Gender: Female Sin: Envy Appearance: Temperance is a short girl with light brown skin, she almost looks like a 12 year old. *Whistles* Her black hair is pulled up in a neat ponytail. Her lilac eyes hold a sense of curiosity and energy within them. She dresses fairly casually, usually wearing colorful tank tops over her flat chest alongside blue jean shorts. Her feet are generally covered by some color of sneakers with a plastic wheel in the heel. Alternatively she may outright wear roller blades. She has a little deep blue and green bracelet hanging loosely on her right wrist. She also has several scars on her back from an accident she had when she was younger Mech Appearance: Libra is an artificial mech created by the Diviner. It is one of twelve that he has created. All of his artificial mechs have two modes: pendant and active. As the name would suggest, in pendant form Libra is an emerald pendant. In this mode it can still access some of its more basic functions, but it’s not suitable for combat In mech form, Libra has two layers. The inner layer is where Temperance resides, wearing a white halter top, matching shorts, and a pair of green roller-blades in case she gets ejected. The outer one is a large metal armor cloak with green decals and a pair of arms extending from the sides and wheels on the bottom. The arms each hold a pan for weights and a tube called a liquid welder which can dispense molten metal into the pans or the body (to form weights and for repairs respectively) Inside Temperance stands on a platform which generates a virtual reality, allowing her to move Libra as if it were her own body. Combined with AI assistance this forms an extremely smooth control interface despite the mech being artificial Personality: A very single-minded young girl, Temperance is always focused on one thing or another. She hates a lot about herself, particularly her clumsiness, and often grasps desperately at some sense of organization in her life. She’s not particularly smart and can even be a bit of an airhead at times, just another thing she desperately wishes to fix. Her sin of envy is born of obsession with those who are more capable than her. Due to bullying issues, she has a short barrier of suspicious that all prospective friends must hop before she’ll open up to them, but it’s not particularly hard to get past. On a positive note, her single-minded nature gives her strong decision making skills and good perseverance Her mech’s AI (AIs are not uncommon in mechs, but are required in artificial ones), The Scales (“affectionately” nicknamed Kayli because “it sounds like scaly”), are the epitome of balance and self-control, which doesn't mix well with Temperance's klutziness. Temperance also has a tendency to get herself into trouble that she needs rescued from, causing Kayli to be fairly exasperated with her about being summoned into mech form so often Mechs Stats: Speed: 2. Temperance doesn’t accelerate particularly fast in her heavy armor, but she does have wheels so she can build momentum to gain speed Melee: 4. Libra wields a pair of traditional looking scale pans which can be swung around like flails. The outer body can also rotate at high speed to generate a large amount of force. On top of this, the scales can be loaded with metal weights generated by liquid welders on the arms, giving them ever more force behind their assault. With enough momentum, Libra can also outright ram opponents to deal heavy damage and send them flying. If the outer layer is torn off, Temperance can also fight on her own wielding a massive hammer with two heads and enough power to dent her own mech’s armor Firepower: 1. The scales can be used like slings to fire weights from range. These travel at high speeds and do passable damage but are very telegraphed by the long windup Armor: 8. Libra’s armor is extremely thick, granting it strong resistances to most kinetic attacks. Libra also has a powerful energy shield that allows it to absorb most energy based attacks. The combination of these grants it a good defense against explosions as well. The only chink in this armor is that it can’t hold up against melee attacks very well, as a melee opponent can more easily strike between the segments Signature Attack: Emotional Distortion (Note: more of a second Ability than a Signature due to its passive nature). Temperance’s emotions are balanced with those around her. If she feels calm and they are angry then she’ll get angrier and they’ll get calmer. There isn’t too much combat application to this except when facing emotionally driven opponents, where she can sap their driving force and repurpose it for herself. The condition for this attack is that she be wearing Libra’s activation pendant (being inside the mech qualifies. The condition and passive nature of the Signature is the same for all of the Diviner’s artificial mechs) Special Ability: Imperfect Balance. When Libra’s armor takes damage it can move to balance itself out, this will allow it to retain its original shape, but it will be slightly weaker as a whole. It can be repaired with the liquid welders, eventually fully repairing itself. The downside is that she can’t use the welders offensively during this time, weakening her attacks significantly Character Stats: Observance: 3. Not many details slip by Temperance, unfortunately for her that just means she notices her mistakes all the more clearly. Still, it can be useful for sorting out what her opponent can do Reflex: 0. Temperance’s mind moves forward, and only forward, she has no time to think about reflexes Social: 0. Social skills? Temperance? The closest she gets is her klutziness being endearing to some Other: “I may be the densest girl you know, but that just means you’re never getting through me!” Leonard Davidson, the Diviner NPC Name: Leonard Davidson Alias: The Diviner Age: 47 Gender: Male Sin: Lust Appearance: An elderly man in a labcoat, his receding black hairline is clearly dyed. Personality: An eccentric man who could really care less how much he's paid, so long as he gets to watch Favor in action Other: Visit him to change your mech's stats during the travel phase Fukari Adere, Black Idol Name: Fukari Adere Alias: Black Idol Age: >:c r00d (but 19) Gender: Female Sin: Greed Appearance: Often called the epitome of cute, Adere is truly adorable. She has medium length black twintails held up with blue ribbons. She wears a simple black dress with blue frills at the end and black knee-high boots. The long sleeves on the dress end in similar frills to the dress, but have the addition of having a large sapphire sewn into the back of the wrist. Her sweet, pale face bears a simple headset that hooks over her right ear. Her eyes are a lovely teal and hold a strong determination. Her petite nose sits happily above equally petite pink lips which are almost always smiling cheerily Mech Appearance: Adere's "mech" is outfit for dancing and singing, not combat. It is little more than a costume consisting of a black leotard and black metal boots both lined with white. She wears finger gloves of the same design and a black hair ribbon which holds her hair in a side-ponytail on the left side of her head. Her headset remains from her normal outfit, although it now covers her ear with a flat black circle adorned with a blue flower in the center Personality: Adere has two personalities, her idol personality and the one hidden behind it. As an idol she is confident and cheerful, always doing her best to make her fans happy. However behind that lies a nervous and insecure girl who is always worried she'll make a mistake. She tends to push others away by pretending to dislike them Mechs Stats: Speed: 5 Gotta keep pace with the music. Adere's Special Ability gives her superhuman speed allowing her to perform mind-boggling dance moves Melee: 4 Strength is important for dance too. Her Ability gives her bonuses that make her stronger as well Firepower: 0 Who needs flashy guns when you have a stage? Armor: 6 Even more important than speed or strength, Adere needs protection. Her field makes her impervious to ranged attacks of all kinds, bullets, lasers, and explosions will not harm her. However, she has no protection against a punch or kick Signature Attack: Divine Stardom. Not exactly an attack, Adere's Signature causes her Special Ability's field to glow brighter, creating a strobe-light effect as she moves. The white lines on her outfit also join in. In the unlikely scenario of combat, this can befocused at an opponent to temporarily blind them. It's condition is, "My fans are cheering wildly." Special Ability: Hi-Def Glow. Adere's ability grants her a form-fitting forcefield like layer of energy over her body. This field gives her a blue glow and provides her physical bonuses Character Stats: Observance: 0 Adere isn't very good at noticing details Reflex: 2 Good reflexes are a must for any dancer Social: 1 An idol has to keep up appearances Other: She is in charge of hospitality for the combatants during the Travel phase and introducing the Gods during the Audience phase Gods:
Chevaleresse
Forum Name: Adamance Ascendant Character Name: Yukimura Hiroki Alias: The Hellfire Knight Age: 15 Gender: Female Sin: Wrath Appearance: A girl with fairly light skin and a rather small frame, even for her age, standing at about 4'8" or 142 cm. (She's an alto.) I'm using anime rules on appearance, shh. Also not sure if the special ability costs points, or if the Speed stat should cost more or less. Shadow Sketches
When you say mech, do you mean 100 feet tall giant robots that look like they come straight out of the Power Rangers? Or do you mean a sort of "full body suit" that the characters wear, like an exo-skeleton of sorts? Edit: Read over it again and I answered my own question, so ignore~ Edited March 21, 2016 by Shadow Sketches
Code: PIRULUK
WIP SHEET Forum Name: Code: PIRULUK/Acquiescence/Mechanical Lily Character Name: Koizumi Kagari Alias: [Your character's professional name, usually related to their mech's appearance] Age: 18 Gender: Female Sin: Lust Appearance: Long, brown hair tied into a ponytail, which is held in place by butterfly-motif hairclips. In case anyone doesn't know what a Bit system is, it's a Gundam 00 thing that basically refers to this:
K_H
Reserved. Character Sheet: Forum Name: K_H Character Name: Lawrence Lomellian Alias: RicochetAge: 30Gender: MaleSin: PrideAppearance: 6'10", red hair, caucasian complexion, blue eyes, lean and athletic build.Mech Appearance: His Mech packs a punch and is lightweight, but isn't bulky. It also has a pair of forward-facing ranged weapons, one on top of each shoulder. The one on the left is a missile launcher, while the one on the right is a laser gun.Personality: For the most part, he's pretty calm and generally somewhat laid-back. He does have a love of the thrill of all-out combat, but it's just hidden very deeply inside and tempered by years of experience in the ring.Motivation: He's in it mainly for the fun, but the prospect of ruling his own plane was also a big factor in it. Who wouldn't want to be able to create a plane mainly dedicated to whatever they wanted?Mechs Stats: Speed: 7. Melee: 5. The mech's hands can be fired to any location and then quickly pulled back, either bringing back whatever they've grabbed onto with them or bringing the mech to whatever they've grabbed onto.Character Stats: Observance: 1. Edited April 3, 2016 by K_H
Shamitako
COMMANDEER The Second God, Plane of Lust (former) Character Name: Sarah Argyle Alias: Future Seeker Age: 38 Gender: Female Sin: Wrath Appearance: A fairly short woman, Sarah has pale skin, brown eyes, and purple hair cut short and neat. She usually wears a suit with pants and a striped purple tie Mech Appearance: Future Seeker wears a massive suit of armor (think knights from FE) that shields her from most attacks but also restricts movement. Her only armament is a pair of polearms. One a large lance the other a javelin Personality: The power to choose your fate is a strong one, one which leads to arrogance. But rather than forming Pride, Seeker’s arrogance led to Wrath. She is well known for her short temper, the fiercest in all of Tempest. Her hair-trigger temper is absolutely explosive. But she’s also known for her charisma. When she isn’t going off on someone she does a good job of showcasing strong leadership skills. This combination of traits has led to her oft being referred to as “General Seeker” by her people, or sometimes “General Sore-Ass” Mechs Stats: Speed: 2. Seeker’s armor is heavy and bulky, making her very slow. This weakness is partially mitigated by her Special Ability Melee: 6. Future Seeker’s heavy spear is capable of piercing most armor, or at the very least battering it down to the point where it can be pierced Firepower: 4. Seeker’s Javelin can be thrown and then retracted via a chain, allowing her to deal solid damage at a medium range. Seeker can use her Fate ability to hit even the most elusive of opponents Armor: 5. That heavy armor isn’t just for show, there’s very few physical attacks Seeker can’t take. However it isn’t made to handle energy attacks, which can prove troublesome for her Signature Attack: None. Future Seeker doesn’t feel a need to use a signature, not with the strength of her Fate ability Special Ability: Fate. Future Seeker’s most powerful ability is to determine the results of her actions without determining the actions themselves. She can create “do” without needing to know “how” Character Stats: Observance: 1. Sarah is good at catching small details Reflex: 0. Sarah hasn’t trained her reflexes much, she doesn’t really need to Social: 2. Sarah is fairly good in social situations, but she’s not the greatest socializer of all time Other: Her maiden name is Derrek. She became the Second God by killing herself and using her Fate ability to survive death The Third God, Plane of Lust Character Name: Sain Derrek Alias: Swagalicious Age: 36 Gender: Male Sin: Lust Appearance: Faceclaim. A young-looking fellow with a flashy haircut, weirdly enticing brown eyes, and a pair of pierced ears which usually have some sort of diamond or gold earring in them. Wears a leather jacket over a white shirt and has extremely tight leather pants. His shoes are generally leather boots but occasionally are leather boots with heels Mech Appearance: A fairly normal humanoid mech in a red color. Swagalicious is of average height with a lean build and no ornamentation of any kind. The face is blank other than a black visor. The feet don’t have any toes and are entirely flat on the bottom. It has rocket boosters installed into its back, stomach and extremities to help with maneuvering. The only truly strange thing about it is the oddly prominent nipples Personality: Totally swagalicious. The Third God is just one giant hunk of pleasure. He’s quite the player and never thinks twice about playing around… Except that not all that many want to because he’s kind of a dork who thinks he’s more interesting than he actually is. Because of this, he decided to drive the Plane of Lust to become true to its name. But not long after he realized that he didn’t actually enjoy being a player (although he does still enjoy making terrible innuendos) and has since made moves to reconcile himself and his land. He’s an earnest guy who can be selfish at times but in the end wants the best for everyone around him Mechs Stats: Speed: 6. Swagalicious is a fast mech built specifically to outmaneuver other speed-based mechs. His light frame and maneuvering thrusters combine with his passive to allow him to keep pace with most opponents easily Melee: 1. Swagalicious can punch and kick, but he won’t do much damage, more likely he’ll use his flexible limbs for deflecting melee attacks Firepower: 5. Those oddly prominent nipples are actually twin laser cannons which can do massive amounts of damage if they hit, but can only fire directly ahead. Each of Swagalicious’s fingers contains a single, high power missile that he can fire to seek out his target and proc his ability if they avoid it. He also has a missile bay stored in each of his shoulders, but these fire swarms of weaker missiles and do not proc his ability. And finally he has a shotgun that extends from just beneath his belly Armor: 3. Swagalicious has thin armor plating that can protect him from some weaker attacks, but it’s not made for a heavy defense Signature Attack: Barely Understandable Killer Krazy Aerial Kurvy Engagement. Swagalicious freezes the opponent in place before jumping above them. He then delivers a full barrage from all of his weapons at once. The condition for this attack is, “My body is ready.” Special Ability: Endless Repetitive Organic Gentle Ejection. Every time one of Swagalicious’s finger missiles fails to deliver its payload (note that he can’t just intentionally miss, the attack must be avoided or blocked), he gains a short burst of speed and armor (going up to 8 and 5 respectively) allowing him to close in and deal a quick hit with his shotgun or titty guns Character Stats: Observance: 1. Sain has Certain Understandings of the Minute, which is just his fancy way of saying he can catch small details Reflex: 0. Who needs reflexes when you have ROBOTIC NIPPLES? Social: 2. He’s alright at social situations, but tends to make dorky comments that prevent him from reaching the highest echelon of social swag Other: His predecessor had great faith in him, he regrets that he betrayed said faith The Fourth God, Plane of Gluttony (Former) Character Name: None Alias: Wine Age: 36 (since being injected into her body, physically she appears to be in her mid-50s) Gender: Female Sin: Gluttony Appearance: Wine is not actually a physical existence, but rather an ancient and very complex biotech AI. She inhabits a donated body from a young woman whose mind was deteriorating (as in, the woman was gonna die so she offered her body to give someone else a life). Her system appears to have been created to inhabit some form of organic computer. The woman she inhabits has aged to around 50, and looks like a middle aged woman with a wrinkling face and greying blonde hair. She is also slightly obese, mainly due to her body reacting slowly to being full (or at least that’s her excuse for eating entire cakes in one sitting) Mech Appearance: Wine does not participate directly in combat and thus has no proper mech. When she needs to access Favor, she wears a charm around her neck which grants her access to some functionality Personality: Wine is entirely self-aware and understands that she is not properly human, but nonetheless values life and human experience. She tries to govern her lands as though she were a mere citizen, and often mingles with her people. She wants to experience all there is in life, sand spends. She is not a fighter, and actually gained all of her Favor as gifts, generally in return for doing something kind or helpful Mechs Stats: Speed: 1. Walking is fun Melee: 0. Wine is too frail for physical combat, even with a mech to assist her Firepower: 3. Wine can fire off blasts of kinetic energy from her forcefield which push threats back with a significant force but don’t do much in the way of damage to those with even a little armor Armor: 6. The primary function of Wine’s pendant is to grant her a protective forcefield, just in case she receives a proper combat challenge Signature Attack: None Special Ability: Meld. Wine can merge her self into other mechs, granting her full access to the dream space of anyone she melds with as well as control of their mech within reason. Character Stats: Observance: 0. Wine’s ability to control her body is limited, and she struggles with focusing her senses Reflex:-1. Wine’s system has degraded over time and is only loosely connected to her physical body, making her slow to react to most stimuli Social: 4. Wine can perfectly analyze speech patterns, allowing her to understand people at a level they can’t even understand themselves. [unique: 4-point bonus skill, Spatial Translation. Wine can learn to understand and speak any language instantly upon encountering it] It’s been suggested she was created by a civilization that utilized Favor in their technology to serve as a translator Other: Her body and mind are not well connected, and it won’t be long before her aging body rejects her mind completely The Sixth God, Plane of Sloth Character Name: Tobias Hartford Alias: Sleeping Bear, the Sixth God Age: 37 Gender: Male Sin: Sloth Appearance: Bear is a heavyset man. His brown hairline is receding and he has thick and scruffy facial hair. His eyes are yellow and look pretty bored. He’s usually somewhere between asleep and half-asleep. He wears t-shirts and shorts, as well as preferring to go barefoot. When he’s meeting with important guests he switches to a t-shirt and jeans with sneakers Mech Appearance: Bear’s mech is very literal. It looks just like a bear, albeit a bit more shiny and metallic. It is very large, very heavy, and very brown Personality: Bear is unsurprisingly very lazy, he just generally doesn’t like doing anything. He doesn’t even really want to bother having a full personality, just sit there and yawn. It’s said that when he was a child he had to live a tough life and lazes around now as a way to compensate for those hardships, but there is no real evidence to substantiate this theory Mechs Stats: Speed: 0. Bear doesn’t like moving. His mech’s limbs will remain close to his torso at all times and only move a small amount unless his ability is triggered Melee: 2. Just enough to push things away when they get too close. Bear’s mech isn’t especially weak, but it has next to no reach or mobility. His arms and legs can however manage to push a lighter enemy off of him Firepower: 7. If they lose they go away. Bear’s mech is outfit with a massive swarm of independent drones which fly around and harass the enemy with a mix of lasers and bullets. Individually they aren’t very strong, but their sheer numbers lets themwear down even heavily armored opponents very quickly Armor: 8. More armor means people are less likely to disturb him. His armor is extremely thick, capable of blocking nearly any attack without even a scratch Signature Attack: Maul. Bear gains a burst of speed which lets him quickly catch up to his opponents (he’ll catch anything below 8 speed). The condition for this signature is “my Special ability just triggered.” Special Ability: Awaken. Bear’s mech has a sensor deep inside the cockpit which will trigger if a vibration of a certain strength (the exact amount that will wake Tobias from his deepest sleep) If it detects this vibration, the mech switches to “awake” mode. The drone swarm recedes and attaches itself to his limbs, bringing his firepower to 0 but upping his speed to 4 and his melee to 7 (for an overall stat gain of 2). Combined with his Maul Signature, this allows him to almost certainly finish off any enemy that manage to survive his drones and hit him hard enough to trigger this ability Character Stats: Observance: 3. Bear may not have the fastest body, but his mind is razor sharp, he catches details very easily Reflex: 0. Bear doesn’t like moving around, why bother training reflexes? Social: 0. Bear doesn’t like interacting with people any more than necessary and his social skills are very lacking Other: Became the Sixth God by sleeping on an important road for two weeks straight. Powerful opponents were constantly trying to move him which resulted in a massive gain of favor. If this hadn’t happened he likely would have been too lazy to do it himself despite his overwhelming strength The Seventh God, Plane of Greed Spoiler Character Name: Joshua King Alias: Queen Age: 15 Gender: Male Sin: Greed Appearance: A short boy with dark skin and curly black hair. Joshua tends to always look cheerful. He usually wears a large purple robe and a plain gold circlet on his head in an effort to look like royalty (or maybe as a joke, nobody but him really knows) He’s happy and personable, and has proven himself a wise governor for his Plane many times over Mech Appearance: Queen’s mech is nothing more than gauntlets and greaves. They are made of a thick metal which is colored primarily in black. Through the joints a fiery orange glow can be seen emanating from the inside. While piloting his mech he wears a black jumpsuit which covers his entire body below the neck. He also carries a small pouch on his hip Personality: Although his greatest sin is Greed, none of Joshua’s sins are especially great. He wants for more than he needs, but is content with all that he has. He understands what it means to have little. So instead of using his great power to fight for personal gain, he instead uses it to make his plane a stable and welcoming home for all. His goal is to have a Plane where everyone can go to have a good life Mechs Stats: Speed: 2. Queen can’t move all that much faster than a normal human. But he does have rocket boosters around his wrists and in the soles of his greaves that can grant him bursts of extra speed Melee: 4. Queen’s fists can strike with a good amount of force that can send most lighter mechs flying and do heavy damage to weaker opponents. His adequate melee damage can be combined with his Special Ability to help him deal significant damage in a melee brawl when necessary Firepower: 7. Queen has powerful heat rays in his palms which can be used at range to deal damage and destroy projectiles. Close up he can use them to melt through armor or weld shut gun barrels. In addition, his pouch is loaded with hollow projectiles which can be filled with energies stored from his passive and thrown for a variety of effects Armor: 2. Queen can’t take much punishment, and relies largely on his special ability to prevent him from being obliterated. He has a weak force field which can mitigate some of the damage, but largely he relies on his own stamina to survive the damage his ability doesn’t absorb Signature Attack: King Meld Hand. Queen charges a powerful blast using his own energies in addition to his opponents. He then fires out a multi-energized beam which drains all of his gathered energy and most of his own. The condition for this attack is, “I’m ready to finish my opponent off” Special Ability: Shock Absorber. Queen’s mech stores damage that strikes him, mitigating it slightly. This damage can be released through the gauntlets in the same form that it was absorbed as, creating an attack that strikes the opponent with their own power. Energy attacks (barring fire and explosions) will coat the gauntlets in whatever energy form he was struck with, fire and explosions will be discharged through the boosters around his wrists to increase his speed, and kinetic attacks will be used directly as part of the attack to increase his melee damage. This energy can also be discharged into his throwing stones or his Signature Character Stats: Observance: 0. Joshua tends to tunnel vision pretty drastically Reflex: 2. Joshua has good reflexes and can adapt quickly to most situations Social: 1. Joshua is a very personable gay Other: He often redesigns his mech to mimic other designs he finds interesting, retaining only his Special Ability and Signature Attack The Ninth God, Plane of Gluttony Character Name: Lain Argyle Alias: Ice Gryffin Age: 16 Gender: Male Sin: Gluttony Appearance: Lain is a tall and skinny teenage boy who can’t ever seem to put any weight on no matter how much he eats. He has short purple hair and matching eyes. His skin is slightly darker than most of my characters’ with a bronze tint to it. He wears whatever style is “in.” that currently being a clean-looking shirt with black jeans and a simple belt. His left ear is pierced and usually has a diamond-shaped gold earring attached to the lobe Mech Appearance: Ice Gryffin is a largely humanoid mech made with royal blue and gold plating. Its armor is ridged to make it look feathery. Its legs are designed to look like a bird’s, being split into three segments with two opposite joints and standing on three large talons. Its arms are much more humanoid extremities, however the hands look much like the claws of a large cat. On its back extend large wings of ice. Its head is shaped like an eagle and is primarily blue with a golden beak. It has an ornately designed belt area which shows a story of a grand battle between an eagle and a lion. Holstered on the right side of this belt resides a large golden cannon. The cannon is a simple cylinder with a straight handle near the front allowing it to be held alongside the mech’s arm. When held, the cannon is coated in ice, forming a lion-head design at the front Personality: Lain grew up around the Fourth God’s parties and has grown quite the appetite for pleasure because of it. He is also a tad spoiled and can act entitled. However his end goal is to have everyone in his plane have just as much as he does. And thus, following his mentor’s guidance, he throws a lot of parties. He tries to interact with people as much as possible so that his wealth and station don’t seem quite so unattainable. He’s always encouraging to everyone around him. Mechs Stats: Speed: 3. Ice Gryffin isn’t built for speed, but its light figure makes it quick enough on its feet. If it pulls in its wings it can gain a burst of speed for a dash in return for losing the ability to curtain fire for the duration of the dash Melee: 3. Although not melee-oriented, Ice Gryffin does have the ability to deal some damage with its claws and talons. But even more so, its talons are very good for grappling, allowing it to be very flexible when either it or its opponent are on the ground Firepower: 6. Ice Gryffin is a primarily ranged mech which focuses on flinging shards of ice at opponents. The wings in particular are capable of launching hundreds of icicles in a very short period of time. The wings are generally set to autofire, creating a curtain of projectiles over the combat zone. Ice Gryffin’s cannon fires rounds of ice which are filled with a small amount of an electrically charged acid, its acid tanks are large enough for it to fire up to ten of these rounds before it must switch to solid-ice rounds. While the ice will be destroyed by projectile defenses, the acid will often get through. Conversely, energy defenses will stop the acid’s effects, but the projectile itself will still deal damage. Slaved to this main cannon are another set of high-output icicle launchers like the wings which are housed in the sides of the mech’s abdomen. The slave guns can be fired without discharging one of the primary shots by simply not loading the main cannon, allowing for bursts of small projectiles without using up any of Ice Gryffin’s limited stores of conductive acid Armor: 5. Ice Gryffin is outfit with a powerful energy field which can cancel out most energy-based attacks before they reach the main body. In addition, it has ice pores in its palms which can be used to create thick ice walls to block projectiles. It notably struggles against explosive attacks and heated projectiles as these will weaken its ice shields with both heat and kinetic energy Signature Attack: None Special Ability: Ice Reactor. Ice Gryffin generates ice within itself which can be output through its hands, back (generating the wings), and sides as well as a direct pipe to its cannon from its right arm. This ice is very dense and is not easily smashed or melted Character Stats: Observance: 1. Lain can catch details quite well. Reflex: 0. Reflexes are not one of Lain’s strong suits Social: 2. You can’t attend as many parties as Lain has and not pick up some social skills Other: The Second God’s son The Tenth God, Plane of Nil Alias: CardinalAge: 22Gender: FemaleSin: WrathAppearance: Average height, red eyes, long black hair, maid outfit Personality: A nervous and timid girl, Cardinal doesn’t have very much experience interacting with people. She’s fairly childish, acting closer to a ten year old than a twenty year oldMechs Stats: Signature Attack: Null Dimension. Cardinal temporarily (a nonspecific time period from half an instant to around a minute) dispels her opponent’s magic/mech. They are still considered in combat and protected by Favor. The condition for this attack is “I have not used my Signature yet” effectively limiting her to a single usage but freeing her to use it whenever she likes Special Ability: Cardinal Paradox. Cardinal can generate deviant timeplanes that only exist for herself and have different events from the real world which are centered around her, but are nonetheless real Character Stats: Observance: 4. Watching the world from afar has given Cardinal some of the strongest observational skills in existence [unique: 4-point bonus skill, Wormhole Eye. Allows Cardinal to see between planes, dimensions, and realities (but not timeplanes) Reflex: 0 Social: -1. Cardinal has never interacted with anyone in person, she has next to no concept of realistic human interaction Other: Lives in the post apocalyptic ruins of a place she calls “Caroline Rally” The ability does not cost points. The speed is fine as-is. Oh, also, I forgot to mention. These are going to function much like Infinite Stratos where the mech simply materializes around the pilot when they summon it

IntSys
Is this okay? Forum Name: IntSys Character Name: Tai Alias: Nova Age: 21 Gender: Male Sin: Gluttony Appearance: A young man with short, red hair and yellow skin. He usually wears an unzipped jacket on top of his white shirt, a pair of sports jeans, and a pair of red sneakers. Fitting his personality, his clothing is generally very loose. He's of average height, but his bright smile makes him stand out in a crowd.Mech Appearance: Tai's mech isn't very bulky, allowing swifter movements. Exhaust ports are laid all over the body, preventing overheating from the inside. The chest of the mech is the biggest part of the mech, and it houses the Fire-Shield system, which powers on the heat of the mech. It also has four flame cannons attached to it. The arms of the mech are completely covered with orange heatproof armor plates, with yellow stripes from top to bottom. The back of the mech is attached with powerful thruster rockets, providing high-speed movement and good handling. The mech's main features are the large and powerful fists. The armor plated on top of them are much tougher compared to the rest of the mech. The palms contain mini-cannons which can shoot out laser blasts. Motivation: Tai wants to be the god of the Plane of Gluttony. He considers going through the tournament and killing the Tenth God altogether to be the hardiest work there is, and it should have the best reward of all jobs -- Eternal satisfaction. Mechs Stats: [You have seventeen points to distribute across these stats, we've been over them so I won't explain them again. These can be modified slightly over the course of the RP. Put points into each and then explain what the mech has to fit these ratings] Speed: 6. Tai puts the thruster rockets to maximum power and turn all the heat into a powerful energy shield. He then blasts toward the enemy, breaking his/her shield if there is one, and delivers a powerful punch. The condition for this Signature Attack is "The opponent is weakened and is now taking a defensive position!" Special Ability: Fire-Shield. Tai turns the heat generated from the thruster engines into a shield made of flames, coating the entire mech. This makes Tai's physical blows stronger. Character Stats: [surprise! Your character has stats too, well, more like abilities really. These are inherent and cannot be changed. You only have three points for these. When using limited-use abilities, please use brackets to note that you've done so] Observance: 0. Tai doesn't care about details too much, he just cares about the results. Reflex: 3. To accommodate the high-speed movement the mech provides, Tai trained himself to have incredibly good reflexes. Social: 0. Other: Anything else to share? (Nope.) Shamitako
Yeah, that looks alright. Murdoc's character is accepted as well EDIT: Some examples of common mech archetypes and why they're a thing: [Note: Balance means that there are two or more stats treated fairly equally after the main stat] FAD (Firepower-Armor-Defense) Coincidentally, the current fad among tryhards. the FAD setup provides very high reward for very little risk. Many FAD mechs are basically artillery that batter their opponents with constant barrages of attacks while staying back and safely avoiding damage, shrugging off attacks with their high armor and defensive special abilities A variant form of this strategy is the build FAO, using your special ability as an extra source of offensive power, giving a strong advantage over melee-oriented opponents. However this leaves one struggling a bit against other FAD types Most FADs do not waste favor on signature attacks, they have plenty of firepower already and it's better to simply get more armor MAD (Melee-Armor-Defense) Next up is the melee tank. This build focuses on being hard to kill so that it can get in close and deal a lethal blow, usually using a signature attack with a condition like, "I've closed in on my opponent and wish to deal heavy damage." This is essentially a FAD counter-strategy and will not perform nearly as well against most other builds SFO (Speed-Firepower-Offense) Instead of avoiding damage by being hard to kill, SFO builds avoid damage by moving too fast for the opponent to target. This frees them up to have an offensive special ability. Their high firepower lets them keep the enemy at bay while they race around avoiding attacks. This build is often considered a troll build as it's not likely to win many fights, but is a pain in the ass for FAD mechs A variant of this is to sacrifice all hope of dealing significant damage and forgo a signature attack for more speed/armor as well as using a defensive special ability. This strategy makes one extremely hard to kill, but relies on the opponent becoming frustrated and making mistakes to have any hope of winning a fight FBO (Firepower-Balance-Offense) A new build that has been gaining popularity as of late. FBO is similar to FAD, but with greater mobility and a bit less armor. This lets it go toe-to-toe with the MAD and SFO mechs that FADs struggle against. However it's too slow to avoid everything and not armored enough to tank everything, so FAD mechs can still easily beat this build out SMD (Speed-Melee-Defense) Normally build Speed-Melee in the FAD meta is very dangerous. But with a defensive special ability it can be made to work. By using its special ability at an opportune moment, an SMD mechs can dive in an do significant damage to an enemy while avoiding most damage itself. It it 100% necessary for this build to acquire the six point speed bonus to use as an emergency escape or to get behind an opponent before they can react A variant of this is the SMO build which dominated Tempest's competitive scene for several years before people started building FAD. SMO is very strong against many builds, but is generally directly countered by FAD. An SMO mech has very few chances to get in close and deal damage against as FAD mech, which in return can fire a constant barrage of pain and misery at the SMO pilot SBO (Speed-Balance-Offense) An outlying build generally only used as a leftover from the SMO meta, it retains a shred of popularity due to simply being fun to play. It fares well in dealing both melee and firepower damage, and can race in and out of fights at high speed. It was originally used purely as a counterbuild to SMO mechs, but with their decline the SBO build has become much less useful. With enough luck, one can beat an MAD or SFO mech, but an FBO build is much more reliable in that sense. This is generally considered a casual build only for players who want to have fun or those who refuse to give up on their glory days of constantly wrecking SMO opponents TL;DR The stat meta is basically: Firepower>Armor>Speed>Melee. And defensive ability>offensive ability
Sutoratosu
Just gonna slap up this reserve post here real quick while I work on getting a sheet together.Forum Name: StratosCharacter Name: Solomon "Sully" RykeAlias: The RevenantAge: 25Gender: MaleSin: PrideAppearance: A dark-skinned male standing at a rough 5'9", bearing a well toned and powerful physique. There was only one way to settle it... her guns versus his blades. the victor would go on to the inner circle, the loser would have to swallow their damn pride and stay home.Sasha... didn't talk very much to him that night as she helped him pack. He was nice enough not to brag like an ass for once.Even with the only victory he really cared about under his belt now though, the mechanic didn't see any reason to just take it all the way home, see it all through to the end since he'd already gotten so far, plus he always was one to appreciate a good challenge. If he won the whole thing, then great, if he lost... well, at least he'd go out of the competition with a bang. Mechs Stats: Speed: 6 [The mech was built with speed and maneuverability at the forefront of Solomon's mind, and as such special attention is given to fine tuning the efficiency and power of it's legs, while measures have been taken to reduce the overall weight of the unit. The fact that the electromagnetic fields created by the Tesla Spheres embedded in the mech can be manipulated in battle to further augment their already impressive performance by amplifying any motion Solomon makes only makes the mech that much more of a speed demon.] Melee: 7 [Melee is the unit's strongest claim to fame, affirmed by the high-powered, modified servos granting it mammoth levels of strength, twin plasma sabers lying dormant at it's hip, and the Twin Laser Cutter Aparati concealed in the palms, all of which commonly used to tear, slash, and slice away the opponent's defenses in a frenzied, merciless onslaught of flashing energy. The pride and joy of the unit though, is none other than Ragnarok; the large, circular blade reminiscent of a chakram, bearing three diagonal projections along it's edge and as crimson as blood rain. Outfitted with a high frequency cutting blade, it is far sharper than it's mere appearance might suggest, capable of easily being swung with surprising speed using the momentum of solomon's limbs and using electromagnetic manipulation to greatly augment the force and speed of his movements, as well as even spin the weapon in place like a saw blade or throw it like a high speed projectile whose trajectory can be freely controlled by the Tesla Pulse.] Firepower: 2 [The unit has no true designated ranged weapon, however the Tesla Sphere devices can be used to generate high-power electrical blasts; while such blasts may scorch or mar the surface of armor plating, they are far more likely (and actually intended) to damage and temporarily disrupt the internal wiring and systems of the impacted zone rather than actually managing to penetrate and destroy the opponent's armor. The Laser Aparati in the palms on the other hand, can be used as sweeping, ranged beams if needed, and pack an incredible amount of actual destructive force behind them compared to the electric bursts.] Armor: 2 [solomon's mech employs a specially built dampening field which heavily buffers energy-based damage, sitting over the top of the mech's exterior like a sleek skin of defense. The weight of the generator of this field however, comes at the cost of having to sacrifice quite a bit of physical plating in order to maintain the ratio of speed to mass. As a result, his remaining armor can do little against kinetic attacks, forcing him to largely rely on the Tesla Pulse in order to mitigate this weakness, and even then only being effective at warding off Metallic attacks and projectiles] Special Ability: Tesla Pulse.
Bfroger6
I'll reserve a spot, I suppose. Better to waste time on something than nothing, and it's about time I got to join an original story, and not one that's based off of some franchise ~ W.I.P. Character Sheet: Forum Name: Bfroger6 Character Name: Mommo Mikuri Alias: The Slumbering Giant Age: 20 Gender: Female Sin: Sloth Appearance: Mommo's body is unbefitting of a 20-year old woman. What? It provides her with sufficient neck-support inside her mech! Mech Appearance: Mommo's mech is big. The mech's too large rectangular pieces of armor make it very difficult to move. Personality: There is no easy way to describe Mommo's personality, with all its multiple layers and deep, phylosophical questions that clearly bother the child's poor soul... it would take at least a whole, extensive essay to be able to portray such a complicated interweb of various emotions, this primal soup, brimming with questions still unanswered, while trying to answer them all at the same time...! Oh, yeah, she also comes off as really pragmatic and cold, and is cranky when she wakes up. Motivation: Motivation is a fickle concept. And she can overcome some puny speck, and then she'll finally be free... Mechs Stats: [You have seventeen points to distribute across these stats, we've been over them so I won't explain them again. These can be modified slightly over the course of the RP. When she does this, her Armor drops to 3, but her Speed goes up to 4. She also can't use her Signature Attack anymore, as her mech is no longer strong nor heavy enough. Character Stats: [surprise! Your character has stats too, well, more like abilities really. These are inherent and cannot be changed. You only have three points for these. When using limited-use abilities, please use brackets to note that you've done so]Observance: 1 - Mommo is perceptive enough to be able to notice some general signs other people could overlook without a special inspection. Sutoratosu
alright, I've finished my sheet. I've done what I can, so... yeah. The personality will probably change a bit though, as I fine tune things and figure it out a bit better, but for the time being what's already present should be more than sufficient enough to give an basic idea of what I'm going for here
Shamitako
Note: I have yet to actually read and judge your sheet for real Denied, Jack the Ripper is supposed to be a loli girl
Sutoratosu
If that's a legit denial and that's the only reason why, I can easily just change the alias to something else, I've got a list of like five or ten potential ones lined up already. I just felt Jack the ripper was the most appropriate given how he goes about the act of combat...
Shamitako
No, I was joking. As I said, I haven't read the sheet yet so I can't comment on it seriously However, I was thinking about it and I should probably mention that there was no real Jack the Ripper in Tempest. So if it's intended to hearken back to the famous serial killer to instill fear or anything like that, it won't work
rustytengo
you where also wrong Lexi Jake the Ripper only appears as a Loli when summoned under the Assassin class. and just from looking through all this there really isn't a reason to put points into the other stats for the pilot other then reflex since they don't really effect the battles at all. or at least as far as i can tell they wouldn't effect the battle as drastically as reflex does. Solomon honestly gives no damns if his professional name scares people or not.Anyway, I've changed it to one of the alternatives on my list. Still fits just as aptly in its own way
Shamitako
And then you realize that Reflex is bad because #FADMeta Reflex is only useful if you have low Armor and/or Firepower. The ability to know an opponent's worst sin (and use it against them because social ability 1) or how they're going to try to fight you (keep in mind that everyone is fighting their battles at once, so no watching and learning their strategies) is a lot more powerful than ducking a powerful attack unless that attack is going to one-shot you. On top of that, things with low F and A will often have one of the point bonuses from speed or melee, which can be used effectively for dodging and perform a secondary task at the same time Think of this like a Touhou game. Would you rather play the main character who has to dodge meticulously, or the enemy who can just destroy the entire screen and take a butt-ton of hits. Then assume you're the latter, what use is dodging over shooting more bullets or tanking more hits?

Komodojoe
Alright, I'm convinced. Here's my character sheet. Forum Name: Komodojoe Character Name: Morgan Belle Alias: Strider Age: 17 Gender: Female Sin: Envy Appearance: A lightly tan skinned girl with a slim and somewhat athletic build while standing with a fair size of 5'8, Morgan has shoulder length jet black hair along with a pair of yellow eyes and a set of round glasses to accommodate for her poor eyesight. Melee: 1. This mech doesn't have much for melee combat. Strider just has a pair of spiked gauntlets that allow for it to attempt to repel the attacker long enough to get away. AAaaaannndd... done... I think. Hopefully, that's everything. Let me know of I have to change anything and all that other signup jazz than I can't think of... unless that was actually it. I might change a few things here and there, but this is it for the most part. Until then, it's back to the Excera drawing board for me. Bfroger6
T-that's really similiar to what I was gonna do! Alas, first come, first serve, it is my fault alone! *scrapes his mental blackboard clean and grabs the chalk again* Oh well, gonna have to go with sloth then, or greed? Shamitako
Just FYI in case anyone didn't catch on, I've only been giving slots to people who've posted sheets (at least WIP sheets) Since I want to see that people have put in at least a little work before giving them a spot that someone else could have used I'll look over sheets tomorrow morning, this evening is for bingeing
Bfroger6
Yeah, that's why I've already started working on my sheet. Otherwise it'd be bullcrap if people could just grab slots like they're freebies on a yard sale
K_H
Well, my sheet is completed as much as necessary, but I might or might not make some tweaks based on the feedback I receive. Edited March 23, 2016 by K_H
