Haha, but you know, I keep taking your word for it every time; ah, no more of Viri's sassy and weirdly well-articulate self for a day, how can I entertain myself now? And every time you show back up again with more art and I'm forced to abandon my re-reads of my grandmothers harlequin novels. I might be a monster, but I'm a monster of your design.

and on the topic of monsters of your design. I like the way his horn protrudes from under his, helmet! and the way shit is layered overall is sweet, but you're good at that shit. the colors too, pretty neatos.

the only problem, really is implementation, and I'm not even sure if that's a real issue - Pokémon has to be squeezed down to sprite size, and for that you might wanna make him/parts of him a little fatter? with the horn, he's very long to start with, so the amount of detail length-wise would be limited. Eelektrik, all the snakes and Serperior for ref.

Anyways, here is another pencil-drawn lineart, that I drew to amuse myself, because there's obviously no such thing as too much steel.

I'll keep filling in the colour with pencils over the week, since it's my principal way to relax. I'll post that too, when it's done.

Although this doesn't feature a Mega, the core of Heatran/Skarmory/Ferrothorn/Doublade is perfect, by definition. Throw in a Magnezone for POWAH and the unholy monster called Jirachi, and it's a theoretical wrap, unless you make dumb plays or let tings set up in your face.

This is partly why I was a nightmare on PS monotype main in my hayday.

LOL, you can't just use all three at once! well...hydreigon can do that technically, I suppose, but even there there are ways and means to get around them. Scarftran, the hilarious TormenTran, SpDef Skarm, Air balloon Magnet Rise Zone, the unholy FlinchToDeath, etc. Besides, this drawing is for aesthetic purposes only; in a real steel mono, some members would be switched for a Mega that can take such stuff on better, like bulky SD M-Scizor, or some more offensive members like Bisharp, Lucario, Excadrill.

Or the keys. never play games with the keys. it will destroy your soul.

i thought burd was an euphemism for something else because the warning was so... Capitalized, and I was like, ok, I bet Scizor will be on this team and everyone that views this picture will be put on a special watchlist by the save the bees foundation.

I like Scarmory's ear. it's the little details that just does this. and the metal parts on heatran, the yellow really paid off to make the metal more anisotropic. missing speculars around his heat-y parts but w/e i'm just happy you keep coming back to us like an alcoholic promising he'll never drink again

And as for the Bird warning, burd is literally just a bird. Some people expressed an ornithophobic tendency, so I put a noticeable warning and/or joke to caution them about the presence and nature of the burd in question.

Five days, it has been, since I last put pencil to paper for anything other than accounts. Granted, I deal in figures, but even I can't go five days without the other kind of figures! Exams or no exams, I had to draw, if only for my peace of mind, so here I am again, for now and halloween is probably going to kid me to death.

Anyway, not too much for now, just simple lineart of our beloved Hydra of Lernea. Maybe I'll turn this into a full sketch in a few days, when I have an easier exam that I don't really need to study much for, or when I can't stand this art-abstinence anymore.

five days, that won't even get you a "one week somber" at the AA checkout; when everyone else stands up and says "i've been spending time with my family instead", you'll sit there muttering "it's been five days, i've earned it".

but i have to admit, I support your problem. enable, even, to take this bizarre metaphor further; I'd drive for an hour 2am to the one open gasoline station and buy you shiny new ballpoint pens for the kids college funds. help you smuggle in the sketchbooks your wife mustn't know about. and i'm sitting here, right now, nodding along like yes, you've earned this, that's a damn great drawing.

the thing about your art is that whenever i google that particular pokémon to get a reference for what it looks like, i always get underwhelmed with the actual design. I can't tell what's going on with your legs and tail placement on that thing, but looking at the actual design... yeah ok you did a good job, it's a fucking traffic balloon with turfs of... legs.

I do think the heads should be bigger thou; one of them look about the size of his claws. Or... something? it looks a bit unbalanced, but i can't tell what it is.

I knew it was just a matter of time before you showed up.

And yes, you're right about the heads, though it was deliberate. The actual head is sizeable enough, but the subheads (as I call them) are smaller, small enough to be the same size as its hands if it had any.

The legs and tail seem in property position to me; it's actually hovering ('cause, you know, Levitate) so it isn't assuming a resting position with either of its legs on the floor. The tail might have thrown you off because of the row of scales on it; unlike a conventional Dragon/reptile which has a noticeable band of scutes running down its belly, Hydreigon has two such bands that run down either side of its vertical bisection; rather like two 'tank tracks'. So yeah, I did the best I could while keeping it similar enough to be recognizable. Anatomically speaking, those Wings should not be able to support flight, but eh, Hydreigon has six thin Wings which always looked more feathery than leathery, so a burd it had to be. Also I hate the fact that Hydrrigon's legs are atrophied and digitless, basically validating your point when you liken it to a balloon with too many heads and no actual limbs. So I took a liberty and added some functional, properly segmented legs, while still keeping the slight atrophy theme by leaving the toes and claws indistinguishable.

And a reminder: Don't take my homes seriously; I honestly welcome your criticism and feedback.

Oh yeah, also. Hydreigon X Sylveon is a thing because Sylveon was the first Fairy-ass to see the light of ruinous day (hah, see what I did there) and the moment people realised what Fairy was SE against, they immediately paired Sylveon up with what was previously an OU terror, and which now became x4 weak to a screaming pink catdog.

I guess they could've done Sylveon X Scrafty too, but it's less hilariously incongruous for a loose-pants-hoodlum-lizard to be paired with aforementioned domineering catdog than a monstrous Hydra.

Actually, scratch that. I know what my next drawing is going to be.

Ahh, Economics is one exam for which I didn't have to study too much, leaving me with enough time to indulge my weakness again. Granted, it's only a pen sketch, but I liked the idea; it is an experiment in a new design. Maybe I will turn it into digital art/full colour later.

What do you do when you face a God?

EDIT: Yes, I know it's supposed to be in Origin Forme if it's in the Distortion World, but I didn't want to draw a serpentine figure again, okay? Assume it's the portal in Turnback Cave if you're a sticker for canon details.

Viri, to be honest, I've been trying to avoid being the first one to comment here after you post something new 'cause i don't wanna scare people off with our collective swagitude. also been busy the last week but u know that. but i'd wreck u whenever whatever. and almost however too i suppose, even if shakira didn't mention that one.

and yeah don't diss on the lady and the tramp romance of scrafty x sylveon. sharing spaghetti while racist stereotypes singing in the background and all.

the face on tina is really really great. it's the face of a pissed-off god, shattering god and that chick or, to put it in reborn terms, "person of ambiguous gender" has balls of 24 karat gold, some srs big nuggets dangling there. i'd have nope'd the fuck out if i saw that.

i do have a personal theory thou: you got so tired of drawing the chains so you just said "fuck it" to the wings. wings, viri! They're your thing! you draw them so well that you need to put out warnings basically reading "GRAPHICAL WING AHEAD, NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 18". what the fuck is that up there supposed to be, a dry-cleaned paper?

i can't believe you spent that much detail on the chains, but then again, i've seen your breeding box. which is totally what imma call the drawer under my bed from now on.

also, internet on the plane is slow as hell so i can't get a good reference, but: why is he melting?

and the legs. i get that he must look something like that in-game, but... since it's you, and it's somewhat realistic, born to run, this guy was not. in fact, this scrawny thighs hardly even look like they can support the calves and hoves. moreso, the mental image of him walking the way he's lifting his hove there, with all six legs, is fucking hilarious.

and to nitpick, if you're digitalizing this: the angle of the tail is weird. either hold it up, or make less of it visible, that does not look natural. the face, again, thou, i have been looking at it for a while now and i keep just looking at the face, which, a+ compositing. i've said it before, but since i keep going back to it in my head, again: it's tits.

disclaimer: i wanna acknowledge that birds are scary motherfuckers and a swan once chased me like are-you-the-father-tests chase eddie murphy: they're a total legit thing to not be cool with.

Finally, I was drea- I mean, waiting to receive your criticism on this one. Don't bother about scaring people off; your banner is Halloween, what do they expect?

And yes, I agree with you about the tail. I'll lift it and change the angle when I digitise it, although that makes it look fatter, Giratina is after all pretty fat.

As for the wings...eh idk, really. I didn't put any texture or solidity to the wings, you're right, because- Giratina's wings don't have any texture or solidity. Just look at his actual sprites, both the 2D and the XY 3D ones. The wings DO look like they're made of irregularly shaped but perfectly flat paper. I guess it's because they're meant to be made of a shadowy plasma-like substance whi h has no depth. But yeah, point noted, I'll add some shading when I digitise the thing.

Same things with the legs, really. I followed the anime illustration for their shape, even though the thighs are suspended, as you say. (Don't imagine Giratina walking. It's blasphemy! he can FLY and Shadow-Force/Teleport, why would you wanna bother about him walking!)

But yeah, thanks very much for the feedback. I'll work on it more atvthe thime of completion.
