But only through Episode manipulation. And I don't have files for other episodes under 14. Plus it would be "cheating" in my run. The votes are still open (Really, I should know how to make a poll in this forum). Meanwhile, here is the newest episode of: Fimbulvetr, the Ice type Monorun You know why? Because I realised I cannot do the Mystery Egg without beating Corey's gym first. That makes sense, since the Policemen are proceeding to arrest him, after all. This episode will be short in gameplay... But I just... cannot cut this part of this game too much. Well, without further ado, let's go. Episode 7 : The tragic destiny of the Leader Now that ALL these PULSE are gone, we can take a break. ... Not that long though, we have a Leader to arrest. You know... I think that the Police should not attract attention when making an arrest. Especially the culprit. Hum... Are you sure I have to go? Nah! This place is interesting too. Because it's night, and we have these Noctowls who give up to 700 XP per K.O. That's neat... But careful to Uproar. it hurts. These tombstone... with specific names. They're definitely hints for later! NO! Don't take my soul! Instead, I'll take YOURS! And box it, because you won't help me. Well, It's time to grind until oblivion! Some of my Pokemon need xp at this point of the game. So much Noctowl extermination later... I was going to the daycare, because I wanted to buy healing Ice Cream and check Seel in the daycare. And I ran into this shiny little guy. I won't refuse it. After seeing that Seel is currently 24... Here we come. I'm now well prepared. What? You didn't find Corey? Why it doesn't affect us is still a mystery... You should check your guys and see if they're not taking;.. illegal things. Well, let's free the Policemen of this "Mind control". Is that seriously a Gym puzzle? Rectification : it WAS a gym puzzle. Now it's not. Well... I'm hesitating, but the Bagde should do. But I'm still freezing you after. Come on! Pokemon battles are supposed to be a source of amusement, not misery. Here's my team before the match, people: Amaura : Charged Beam/Icy wind/Mist/Ancient Power. Ability : Snow Warning. Bergmite : Take Down/Bite/Curse/Ice Fang. Ability : Sturdy Meteo(Castform) : Water Gun/Ember/Weather Ball/Hail. Ability : Forecast. Vanillite(*) : Mist/Mirror Shot/Uproar/Icy Wind. Ability : Weak Armor This sould do for this battle. Maybe there should be a "Rejuvenation Style" placement, where you go directly into your side of the battle, instead of being forced to talk to the leader. It's not a reason! You've join Meteor and threatened the ecosystem! Oy, calm down! I just did my hero job... no? *Kof kof* I must... get rid of this poison gas.. quick.. Few, that's better. Healing sessions. I decided to spam CHarged beam on Skrelp. I got some nice Spe.Atk boosts. Oh. interesting : when we change the field here, it returns to the field it should have been by default, not the one setted up at the beginning.. I take notes. Skrelp, then Croagnunk, fell to these powered-up Super Icy WindTM And these two too. So much power in this little Pokemon. I should have timed the end of the mist better. I beat the Skuntank, but it costed me a huge Spe.Def drop due to acid spray, plus an Ice Cream And what should happen happened : no 6-0 for Amaura. At least, Vanillite avenged Amaura for the win! Everything... Except the mist, which will be poisonous again after the battle... *Kof kof*... Must.. Arrest... you.. No... Come... Back... here *kof kof* *Still koffing* Thank you... But why didn't you arrest him? He hasn't exited by the door? Why... Should I do anymore for you? I did my job, you know? ... ALRIGHT! Let's go to Beryl Bridge, you slacking cops. Oh... This Absol... It won't smell good for someone around here. ... In fact, you're with Team Plasma... no? Come on! Now the Pokeballs are lost in the Desert... How am I supposed to get them now? I'm hearing you. Confess, and maybe I won't freeze you. A ring.. A beautiful wife... Sounds a good starts. How... That has gone terribly wrong.. Inb4 the Doctor a Meteor agent, then. No? Knew it. So you're basically... A slave for them? Just in order to keep a ring? I mean, I know it is very important for you, as a symbol, but.. Would caring for your daughter be a better way to honor your wife memory? ... Another person to protect? Will my duty as a hero end one day? Not sure in this world. Nonono! Please, NO! Don't do that, there should be another... NO! COME BACK! ... You didn't gave me the badge... WHO DARES? FERN! I should really freeze you! You know NOTHING! AMAURA! Just shut up this guy! ICY WIND! ... Shit, I realised it doesn't freeze the target.. I know! I have to go to Lapis anyway. But you're still a jerk! ... Will this mess never ending? And of course, avoiding these April's fools (featuring the Prankster team). Well, now I'm back with a brand new episode in hand. Hope you'll enjoy it! Episode 8 : Lapis Lazuli and the Wonder Cavern Hurry! The explosion should have made tons of victims! NO! Stop distracting me! But... What about corpses? Oh! There's just a big hole... But no victims. That's alright. WOW! What a big door. Closed btw! ... No! Just raise a Zigzagoon and use pickup. You can obtain nice items this way. I know, Arc'... But you... I've never understood what's your precise function in this game? Do we have to fight you at a time, since a VS sprite is documented in our site? A mysterious alley.. ... OH NOES! The Magma gang! After another 10-minutes of exploration... Well, I have enough treasures, let's go back to the main story. A Light Shard... But I won't touch it. One, my team is full health. Two, I want to grind here later. Lvl 35 Unown gives up to 1300 XP here (to Meteo). Hello, Mister. Please, continue your story. Except, of course, the only power I see as the most important : ICE! Ruby, Emerald, Saphirre, Ametyst... Hey! Corey told about a Ruby Ring earlier. Because..; You're an old man who can't stop himself to tell old legends? Free? Wait.. YOU'RE A METEOR! I knew it! ... Seriously, it was all evident, no? He's here after all. And he is your boss of course. Try it. Just try it! But don't forget there's two of us. We really should have focused on one target I think... Pignite NEVER attacked the same Pokemon I was targeting. And of course, they use Super Potion. Elite Mooks, maybe, but Mooks after all. At least, My partner is quite effective at KOing enemies. Here, I forgot that Crystal cavern makes Ancient Power behave erraticly (aka pick a random type between Plant, Fire, Water and Psychic) but we made it. If the boss said so... Is this really part of his "Master plan"? Sincerely, no Team boss should underestimate a random OP Protagonist. They ALWAYS end up destroying them. See ya next time. But I'm staying here for a while. Today, I will challenge Shelly! Will my Pokemon prevail? Will it be a perfect 6-0? Will the "Super Icy WindTM" be the perfect weapon one more time? Will Mist be used to clear the opponent field? Read this, and you will know! Episode 9 : Pest controlling at Lapis Library I understand... This scene is particularly disgusting... Did I told you I puked the first time? So I have to enter this orphanage... It does not smell good. Hum... Well let's try this, I can't really leave a leader unable to battle. I need the badge! Ow. Your face tells me... This doctor is so bad I don't want to trust him. He does not even understand the true essence of Pokemon Battles! Thanks Captain Obvious! Well she saw blood, and is traumatized. Well, I outta here. Your Scraggy and his Hi Jump Kick (Which does not even 2hKO Avalugg) will be walled by my Avalugg and his incredible defense. And then I started to use Ice Balls. two KO'd this scraggy. And two other the Pignite. Note that Arm thrust doesn't even scratch him with all these Curses. And One-shotting Hariyama, despite Thick fat. But my Ice ball serie is over now. Took me a while, because of Double teams and all this tricky thing, but One shot Kirlia with Bite. Also must take several common candies at Candy Shop, I will need them now. You have a Fighting Team... But can't handle an Ice team. Maybe you should try harder next time. And we are finally in this gym! Or this library. And full of bugs! This gym is a freaking Bug swarm! Well... The expression "Bookworm" makes all sense here. These panel command these shelves erising... I remember this puzzle being hard in the past, but now, I think I can handle this easily. But first, let's beat all the other trainers, while keeping in mind the level of my Pokemon. One hard puzzle gym later... Finally! We can pass now! Which makes me wonder... how the hell did she came here in the first place? Does Gym Leaders have a back door? And here we are. The team I'll use for this battle! Amaura@Icy Rock : Charged Beam/Icy Wind/Mist/Ancient Power. Ability : Snow Warning. Meteo (Castform) : Hydro Pump/Fire Blast/Blizzard/Hail. Ability : Forecast. Avalugg : Ice Ball/Bite/Curse/Ice Fang. Ability : Sturdy. Dewgong : Brine/Aurora Beam/Perish Song/Rest. Ability : Hydratation. Vanillish : Mist/Mirror Shot/Uproar/ Ice Beam. Ability : Weak Armor. Team begin to be nice. But not perfect though. So.. Your Brother is Bugsy? But why wondering about being good enough? You already are! You're a leader in Reborn league, and that's already a feat. Well, I consider he is just envious. He just focus on his Scyther while using other mons as fooders. Let's go for the REAL third match! Shinyrio Posted April 3, 2016 Author Share Posted April 3, 2016 Part 2 Main strategy for this match : going completely LEEEEEROOOOOOY JENKIIINS while using Hail and Blizzard combo and some Charged Beam and Ancient Power. I don't want to let her an opportunity to weaken me. Fortunately, she choosed to use Dazzling gleam instead of Struggle bug. Even though I got a lucky boost With Ancient power and eliminating Illumise. She healed Masquerain... But it let me an opportunity to KO Wormadam with a well placed Fire Blast in da face. She withdrew Masquerain for... Heather? Ah no, a Yanmega. For a strange reason, Anorith was able to outspeed my two pokemon and hurt them a lot with Rock slide. But fortunately, the combined efforts of Amaura and Meteo took him down. I healed Meteo, because he is a more essential piece with his blizzard, but fortunately, Shelly is still affected by her trauma and used Air Cutter and Energy Ball on Meteo. I call this a glitch... And then Yanmega died to the Hail. She wasted time to heal Masquerain, and Bugsy... I mean Volbeat, choose to Tail Glow. And since boosting requires a precise timing, and this is not the good one, I could beat him with a combo Ancient Power/Blizzard. And then Masquerain died with a final Ancient Power. You could have been, you know. The decisions was not right enough. I wouldn't have 6-0'd you if you were a bit smarter. Just make the right decisions next time, and it will be alright. At least, you have the excuse of being disctracted by this terrible scene. THE BADGE! THE PRECIOUS BADGE! And I can use rock smash too. No Ice Pokemon can currently learn this... Maybe Nintendo will release an Ice/Bug Pokemon someday. FEW! That was a long episode, guys. i need to stop here for now. See you next time. And that conclude this 9th Episode. A lot of things have been done here. Sure a very long one. And I still have to take 2 posts for this. Maybe should I request an augmentation of the number of images up to 150. It would be perfect... I wanted to give a try building a Redemption League team Monday... and then being caught by so much obligations IRL. But now here I am again, ready to bring you the next part. Without further ado, here it is: Episode 10 : Secondary time with Aqua Crew and Co! What? You want a rematch? Well, Corey killed himself... If this counts as "retirement", well we certainly have to bring the reserve leader back. Well I want my Poison badge after all.. And since I can't loot Corey's corpse.. This is the only way. BUT... I have other things to do on the way! Like helping the Aqua Crew. Sorry guys for keeping you wait. I have a Leader to beat. Rare? I just want an EPIC... I mean LEGENDARY! pokemon. Translation : let's go steal the Rare Pokemon before them. Maybe the only person in this world who has common sense about not letting any trainer enter her house freely... But I agree! HERE WE GO! Yessir! Magma snail detected. Proceeding to termination! This should do! AND THIS IS RARE? Even Munchlax are more rare than this. Plus it's not an Ice Pokemon, so... useless! See you later... ... Just kidding! I'm already here. Ready to finish the Aqua quests. I was here the whole time, Archer! Of course it is impeccable. I don't know if Ice Pokemon will do well against Magma Gang and their fire, but let's go anyway. Hum... *Checks if any Ice Pokemon evolves via trading.* Well... No! Hum... Guess it's the third part of the "Magikarp" quest. Plus he is a Magma. 2 reasons to beat him, of course! Hum... Maybe I should question Archer about this later. But here we are! Let's raid the Magma Hideout! And the guards are now out of the game! Go, my crew! Let's beat the Sea Warlord and free this country! And of course, I have to do the most difficult job myself. We maybe few, but remember : we have the type advantage! Few! That was hard. I didn't expected this overleveled trainer at this point of the game. But I managed to beat him when I realized Houndoom has only physical moves. VICTORY! Hey! You could give me a Spheal... But no problem! It will just end up in the PC. Bye Archer. Let's back to the main quest! Hum... I wonder.. What will happen if I try to return to Mrs Craudburry's house... OH CRAP! She remembers! Oh! Again! Being a hero acts like a "Out of Jail free" card too! Trust me, Policeman I forgot the name! This old woman is crazy! Of course! Why would I have stolen a Pokemon who obviously belongs to someone else? Well, I guess picking a random rare pokemon in the street is fair game, after all. YEEPEE! That, guys, is a treasure amoung treasures! How... Sorry man... Meteor will pay for this! IT'S MINE! Finally! AND WE CAN GO F4ST! Well, let's back to the main quest... ... Hum, not yet! I've spotted these rematchable trainers in the Grand Hall! Free Xp incoming! Some grinding later... Ans my TRUE starter finally evolves. Isn't Aurorus beautiful? I didn't go that far in the training, cuz I need some room for incoming xp form the main quest. But this should do for now! Okay.. Let's go back in the main quest! Definitely! ... Don't tell me! While I was destroying Magma Gang, Fern fulfills the hero's job... AM I RIGHT! I KNEW IT! Don't pretend to be a good guy! You're not! This should mean... if I kill Florinia, you would stop messing with me forever. I wonder how the hell you beat her without a proper combo nor an anti-nsect in your grass team... Are you cheating? Like playing in "Easy Mode?" OF COURSE I WANT! I still need this poison badge! Remember : I'm an Ice trainer! You'll suffer! Really? A Ferroseed? Well, Fire Blast, and it's ok. Ludicolo's moveset is not really threatening at all! So I could setup and Kill with some Ice balls. And the final Ice Ball finished Roserade, despite a powerful attack. OH YES I WANT! Ice beam'd, scrub! Well, one : My Pokemon are overleveld for you. two : I have the type advantage. Go check the type chart before challenging me, Fern. Oh... You mean the really OUTRAGEOUS guy? Cain? Well, fortunately, in the good way. He know I could Ice Beam him if he tries anything. The place full of Noctowls? Got it. But hey! let's stop here. I don't have any more room for images. It's just because I try a new formula, since I have less time than expected. Don"t worry, it's just I want to shoot more scenario at once, instead of publish each time I completed a part of the game. And that's more refreshing for me. As for this episode.. Well I have an important amount of images for it, so, like Episode 6 , it will be a double episode. Well, here we go! Enjoy this episode. EPISODE 11 : Icy Raid at the Orphanage (Part 1) It would be a gold ring, I would qualify it of "Precious"... But still valuable. Yep, I felt bad for this poor ring left at Corey's gym. But I musn't forget one thing : I still need the Poison Badge, so let's talk to Cain. He should be here. But I expected you to be here... Even if I had doubts, since it was Fern's info... The bound of "Poison Dudes" are still unknown for me. I can only understand Ice Language. *Talking about Heather* You know that it is MY mission? Well Corey just entrusted me before diying, so I have no proff, but... Ha! Ha! Ha! I usually stalk people when I REALLY need something ultra important from them. This, for exemple. That's important. Well I agree about THAT kind of beating... For the other one.. It would be a big no. Hum.. Never fully experienced this field. But I know certain things about it. Like it will transform itself after 3 turns of Haling. Ouch, I remember : he know Revenge. But It's ok, I have Charged beam (with a nice Spe.ATK boost) But let's switch : he wants to send his Nidoking and I fear Double Kick. Dat Ice Beam Crit! Poor Nidoking got one-shoted! Well, the Snowy mountain is here. I have to plan about these two fields for later, should be very important. Well, It strenghtened Ice Beam.. And OF COURSE! I have to negociate with Hades himself to open a simple door. At least he's a Gym Leader, so beating him will grant me a badge, so it's ok. But it will be next time! Well, he CH'd twice in a row, that was a bit unexpected. Fortunately, somehow, Vanillish managed to survive to see the Beartic dying to Perish song. And finally, I can claim another new Pokemon in my Squad! Nice offensive Iv's, good capa. Quiet is a So-So nature, but fortunately, it's not a problem. Well, you see, it's from here that things went crazy! I decided to got over-ripped Pokemon. Not only for Shade, but also for what follows him. And by over-ripping... I mean overtraining! This world is even more creepy. Well this well placed Night Slash is highly susceptible to liberate this poor soul. Rest in REAL peace, Corey. And yeah, I'll go Leeroy Jenkins once more. This field helps me too. Well at least he have a weapon (litteraly) against my Ice type. But I have Fire Bla.. Oh, he survived? And hurts me anyways with Brick break. I set up Hail while Shade healed is Pokemon. And this tiny portion of damage plus a Fire Blast was enough to K.O him. Yep, I don't care that much about level truancy. Hope Ame will fix it for good in the next update. Because tellling he won't listen me, then listen to me anyways (and KOing the Banette) is a bit... strange. Well, I don't think this Critical was useful. Blizzard is surely strong enough to K.O Trevenant anyways. Meteo's hail stopped. So I switched to Aurorus to set it up again. And try to beat this rotom with. OUCH! Discharge with Stab + Field + Critical... HURTS! A LOT! Even to Aurorus. And on top of it, it Paralysed Aurorus. By chance, I still could pull an Icy Wind anyways, to slow him. He predicted my switch... Fortunately, thanks to the field change caused by Discharge, Shadow ball is Weaker. And I assure myself, with a well placed Icicle Crash, that Rotom won't change it anymore. This Chandelure... That was a nightmare back to my first game... I hope It will tank a fire attack with thick fat and... Wait.. WHAT! Piloswine outspeeded him? Did I really buff her speed too much? I think... I really over trained this time.. no? You know... I'm quite shocked too. I know I trained my Pokemon well... but that was really unexpected. Badge... Mine... Good... Less good... WHAT? It's not Shadow ball anymore? Well I surely missed one episode... And of course, no Pokemon can have usage of this TM. Oh, I barely forgot with all this training. But my primary goal is to restore energy. ... TOLD IT! Shade is a freaking stalker. He really installed cameras everywhere in this town! RUN! GUYS! RUN! He is evil! ... Shit, they can't hear me. This computer has not any micro installed. Hey! Don't touch my allies... OR YOU WILL PAY! I swear I'll beat the crap out of you! Well... now how am I supposed to get here to rescue the kids, Cain? At least, you escaped. And here we are... This Sigmung-guy and this ???-guy are really allied. Wish Reborn was more simple... Hell, no! It's what makes this game's charm! Hem.. Do you mean.. Save them? If yes. Of course I will! And of course, you won't help me. You maybe have demonic powers, but you don't really use them. So what's the point of having powers after all? Unfortunately, I have to stop here. This episode... still one of the most strange of all the Reborn game. And my Pokemon's performances too.. is beyond what I wanted. Well, it's finally finished. Yeah, I know! I went a bit too far this time for the training. Fortunately it won't happen for a big time, since I will have no Ice-typed Pokemon for a really long time. I'm conscious it's not entertaining at all... But I really wanted to destroy Shade and avenge myself of a full day of suffering. Maybe it was a bit too far. I've made some episodes since this one, and well... as you'll see, the results of only these 3 Pokemon... is absolutely horrible! That's why, when all of this will end, I will ask for a rule for all Monotypes challenges : to not allow Power Items before a certain point (Maybe 8th or 9th Badge). Because it's not fun at all, and is absolutely time eating. That being said, welcome to this new Episode of : Fimbulvetr, the Ice type Monorun Last time, I beated Shade... And by Beating, I mean "Destroying everything in his goddamn team". And then the most important part of this challenge, as I think, begins in this chapter. A high concentrations of challenges awaits me. Will I succeed? The answers will be in the next 3-4 chapters. Episode 13 : Meteor Strike at the Factory I really didn't expect you here. Well, to be serious, each time there's a problem, you're here. And you don't ask me how I knew it? Because you know, it's not everyday a goddamn Underworld King shows his omniscience. Strength. My current team can't even land a scratch on this Lokhlass, even if I try to Perish Song it. You said it! She's double my Pokemon in levels! At least, she won't level grind until I have to battle her! Well, a one-woman army against an army of mooks.. I'm sure you'll handle this pretty well. LEEROOOOOOY JENKINS! Let's destroy anything! So basically.. The sole purpose of this factory.. Is to produce pollution? Well, that's Meteor's business, what could I expect, besides this? ... Do you smell the trap? Cause, you know, the Meteor guy behind that tube is not very hidden. I KNEW IIIIIIiiiiiitttttttt.... *Boom* I go where I'm pleased! And it will not this prison which will handle me. Oh oh! Even simple grunts have some scientific expertise, it seems. Unfortunately for him, this prison is full of Pokemon I can use. And the cages aren't a problem for them. Like this Jigglypuff, who can make everything asleep, even the guard. This Loudred, to make me immune to Jigglypuff singing. And this Abra, to Teleport other Pokemons in the right cage. Oh right, like I said, we need to put the guard asleep first... This puzzle was difficult to handle the forst time, but now.. That's not that difficult, after all! Well, you know what? I will awake the guard and beat him. Yep, It's mean! But it's a Meteor guy, and every XP source is useful. Well, sorry, but I had to. This passage goes nowhere, but at least there's a TM and a strange item. Even though Psych Up is not that useful, concerning my team and my type. ALRIGHT! It's time to kick some Meteor butt! They have quite another outfit, it seems. Well it must be my Imagination. Well now, I can exit this place and heal myself. But who cares? My Pokemon are still healthy! You need to access the 4th floor to get them. Which means you need at least 3 stickers from various secondary quests. I do these quests as a part of my run, but you can also have all the infos concerning Stickers here. Have an ice day! Today, I'll enter in the massive bunch of Boss battles every Ice Monorunners like me fears. Without other words, let's go! Episode 14 : The Academy and the Volcano F*** yeah! So I can finally exit Reborn City for a moment. It would be a nice place, if it wasn't for this brown lake. Maybe Ame will think about "blueing" the Lake in E16. Especially here. As a Lucario embodiment, this is the kind of place in where I would have gladly studied. Too bad I'm a French guy... Maybe in another life. Ans there's all the commodities a trainer needs! Sure this place is great. Sure the building is nice. I always had this nice feeling each time I see something Oriental like! why not... But another day. I'm a trainer, and my quest awaits me. Well, being a trainer in a journey is a harsh job, you know? Especialy when an evil team is always in your way! A mysterious trainer, heh? Can't wait to battle him. Well, it's obvious that this Cal and the mysterious trainer are one and the same. Nice place, isn't it? And of course, Kiki is obviously a Fighting leader. ... THANKS FOR WARNING ME! Last time you said this, the leader died! Or rather, killed himself. It's like a bad omen. Yep, I could probably go there right away. But I want to explore the Academy first. Oh, the Hidden Power checker! Can be useful. I checked the two "Special" Pokemon I had in hand at this moment. HP Rock on Jynx could be useful, but I clearly don't need HP Grass on Aurorus. He can already learn Freeze Dry against Water/Ground Pokemon. And it's enough. You, you are obviously a secondary quest I'll take without hesitation. Even though it's a theft... Ohoh... Busted! Well, let's negociate it with a battle. Maybe I can get away safely. Well, looks like it settled. Although, I like the joys of the Hammerspace : I can put a giant TV in my pocket! So that's logic... At least, she is useful this time, and unlock me the way to kiki's room. Even though it wasn't blocked this time. At least, you acknowledge it's an excellent reason... But, of course... Plot wall to the max, there's still a inconvenient. Quite fair... But isn't saving children a good way to demonstrate inner strength? Nice idea, for once, Victoria! So you can pass the TMX to me! What? You're sick? Finally someone who has a good judgement. That's rare. If we're talking about this "Cal", no problem, Kiki-san. I'll accept any challenge. If they are plot relevant. A promise is a promise, Kiki. May we both fulfill it, or die trying. Thanks, but I have already understood this. Fire? FIRE! MY WORST NIGHTMARE! But I have no choice, I must beat him! Inb4 a field which gaves him an advantage on top of this. Also, a lava puzzle. I don't have even Strenght, that this nice TM, under my feet, trolls me... I wan't Rock climb! Guess it's here! Ow! That's hot here! Hope my Ice Pokemon won't melt here. That being said, this super-heated field... Not only it weakens water type attacks, but my ice attacks as well.. Fortunately, Beartic can learn Rock Smash. So I can solve this puzzle without Zigzagoon. That being said, think I won't need him anymore. Don't do this, kids. Lava his particulary hot! Don't even approach it without proper Ice-type in your party. That happens when you Rock Smash a correct pillar. Otherwise, you got a Magcargo to beat. And surprise! No more lava in the path. Hope it doesn't fill each time I leave the area. And OF COURSE! Strength still trolls me. Once again! Let's finish this trial, so I can have it. A Heatmor? No, I won't feed him with Pokesnax. He is already fed like this. Plus, I don't need him. Semms like the path is completely cleared. ... Well, I guess not. Which mean I have to drop all this lava from this level to the extreme bottom... Well... Let's go! A few more Rock Smashes later... Well, the path is cleared! I can access to the top of the mountain. Nice View here. Ok, it's raining, but the view is still nice. How convenient! I'm here to battle you. You should be happy! So you're here to control your emotions? Well, I guess this is the right place here. I wish I could attend such a school for my own anger control when I was younger. Of course! *Shows the 3rd badge I forgot the name* Oy oy! You hurted her? Can you dare explain? Is it because you're a fire dude? Hey, don't change the subject... Unless this is for a battle. Here, we speak the same language. Yeah, it is raining. In fact, I came at this moment on purpose. To weaken his fire techniques, which are already boosted thanks to his field. Fortunately, he has secondary types I can exploit. Like Fighting, so Jynx can Psychic them to OS them. And of course, Rock Type attacks are devastating. But... I made a mistake here. This is your challenge for you, people. Can you guess it? Endgame, Cal! Hey, do you know! In another reality, in my first game... You gave me so much trouble. And now, I can 6-0 you with an Ice Team? There's no better indicator of my progress in this game, I guess. I'll go, but... The view is still nice here. I think I'll save here. And this is the end of this Episode. Don't worry, the TRUE challenges will come in the next one! And it will be a VERY long episode! I think it will take me a full day to do it. Se you next time for the 15th Episode! That being said, I think it would be a better idea to up them into the Department store. This is quite early, I think. Well, enough talked about that. It's time for your new episode of : Fimbulvetr, the Ice type Monorun Here we are finally. The climax of this challenge! Challenging Kiki, the fighting leader, and some other strong trainers. It will be a very, very big Episode, so as usual, I will split it into defined parts. I won't let you wait more. Let's go! Episode 15 : The True Tests (Part 1) Fortunately, backing from was easier than going to the volcano. At least, the lava was gone. No. No! NO! You can't die! Not before our gym match! Everything seems easy since Shade... I need more challenge. ... She didn't said "Victoria has passed the Graduation" That smells bad. That's an evidence : each Champion beaten HAVE to give you a badge and a machine. Instead of killing themselves, of course. Clearly you're not! Keep it until I win the match... Please... Smelled it! But what did she gave you instead? So, she choose you as a successor.. Which confirms... First, a suicide, and now, an uncurable disease... Just hopes she doesn't die before giving me the badge. ... You really intend to stop me? Again? First, Shelly, and now, Kiki-Sensei? Guess I have to beat you first, then... Well, Avalugg, let's do as usual! Survives while Cursing to the max! He missed a HJK, so one Ice ball was enough to beat him. I missed the second Ice ball. But fortunately, I don't think I ever need it. The newly learned Avalanche OS Emboar. Avalugg resists perfectly! And Avalanche does tons of damage! The perfect combo! Victoria... The orphans needs me. I want them to live longer. Respect the fact that Kiki's life is ending. Sorry, but I really need that Machine. Glad you understand, Victoria. Here we are. Now that we can finally challenge Kiki. Let's have an overview of the Team I want to use : Jynx@NeverMeltIce : Psychic/Powder Snow/Sing/Nasty Plot. Ability : Dry Skin. Dewgong : Brine/Aurora Beam/Rest/Perish Song. Ability : Hydratation. Aurorus@Icy Rock : Charged Beam/icy Wind/Mist/Ancient Power. Ability : Snow Warning Avalugg : Ice Ball/Bite/Curse/Avalanche. Ability : Sturdy. Beartic : Icicle Crash/Rock Smash/Night Slash/ Brine. Ability : Snow Cloak Piloswine : Icicle Crash/Earthquake/Endure/Ice SHard. Ability : Thick Fat Ice VS Fighting. Advantage to the Leader. But I won't give up! Here we go. the First Trial! I have Jynx though, but sh'es 45. Hope it will be ok. This Field gives a boost to Psychic! And other kinds of "Zen attacks". I must be wary with keeping this field here. Well, the first K.O is for Jynx and the said Op Psychic Let's try Avalugg and her Avalanche... Well, Gallade is hurt, but not enough for the K.O. And he hurts me a lot too. Fortunately, I can place a Curse during the heal so the next hit will K.O Well, the critical was useless, but Avalugg survives. But she has critical health. Fortunately, the Kicklee is here. And after a healing and receiving 2 HJK and surviving, Avalugg K.O's Kicklee! But Critical health again. And this time, Kiki's Lucario is incoming! And it's a Special one! Let's switch! Well... For once, Piloswine didn't outspeed her opponent, and got OS by the overpowered Field boosted Aura Sphere! Welp, Kiki. I have to change my plans! Put the Lucario asleep, and Nasty Plot to raise the Spe.Atk to high levels. So i can hope to OS the remaining Pokemons! He woke up early, but used Psychic.. Well, I expected HP Dark or Aurasphere, but ok! it allows me to OS him! I tried to anticipate the Sucker Punch by using Sing, but unfortunately misses... And got One shot by Strength instead... Said Strength which is now Psychic/Fighting in this field. That's unlucky... Well, the duel of big muscles is here! And toxicroak kept spamming Poison Jab, so Beartic 2 Shot him with icicle Crash! But unfortunately, Beartic fainted to Strength. And Dewgong was used as a meat shield to heal Avalugg. It's my last hope! I didn't wanted to use this tactic that early, but I have no choice! I need an early Def Boost to survive more than One hit from Medicham! That's the problem with Avalugg being super slow. Fortunately, she resists enough to finish Medicham with Avalanche! Finally someone really challenging, for once. Even my trio of overtrained Pokemon fainted early! Yes, the badge is mi- ... NO! Don't die now! Not before giving the badge... Please! Few, you survived... But... How about the badge? Hey, don't say this! You're not THAT weak, to be able to do a Pokemon battle anyway! But how about the badge? But... My Badge... Well... It will be delayed... Once more... Or on the worst case, never... You know, your master is in a critical state. I don't think resting is enough for this... Yeah, this is really important! Too important to be ignored. Hope all of this will be ok... We just have to say to Ame she gave it to me, no? ... Well, there's a bunch of student who saw this match, and saw she never gave it to me officially, so... bad plan. Well, I forgot about him, but you're right. Where is he, though? Oh, come on! I don't think someone would ever mistake a Island in the middle of the lake with the Ashen Beach of Apophyll. Well, except Zoro! Well, I need him, that's sure. But he could have given the key to me a while ago. The turn of events is strange in this world. But first, I need to return to Reborn, to buy enough common candies for a while. My Pokemon have a high risk to be overleveled now! Also, I rotate these two Pokemon with Meteo and Vanillite. I need to XP them too. Well, this place is kinda gooey here. I can't even realise how Cain ended here. Not only this place is a real Labyrinth, but it's also the home of various Item Balls who are in fact Foongus. Well, he's clearly here! But if he lost this... Would he be in danger? That would be an ok TM. Unfortunately, Version 15 has a bug with this Attack, so I can't use it. That being said, Rest is also bugged : 3 turns instead of 2. Hem, I forgot Zigzagoon in the PC... Fortunately, since they are TMX and not HM, I can replace them at will. Various treasures here, from TinyMushrooms to a Shiny Stone. This is the way out. The first time, I thought it would be the end of the road, but I discovered ledge could also be jumped from down to up! An isolated house.. A light shard... That smells bad... NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Come on : if you hav killed him, it would be on the newspaper. Thanks for admitting this. So I can have a reason this time to destroy your butt! You have 6 Pokemon, and I have 6 as well. So... We're still even! Combo Brine + Mirror shot K.O's. At this time, I originally planned to focus one side of their team, but, as you'll see later, it's as if it was one trainer, with a full party of 6. It surprised me! Well, Rhydon didn't even time to see the floor, that Dewgong One Shot him with Brine. Which changes the target of Ice Beam from Vanillish from Rhydon to Solrock! The healing on Solrock allows me to focus Magmar, because it's the most dangerous threat for my team. But Brine + Uproar isn't enough. Milotic is problematic, since none of my attackes are super effective against water. Fortunately, Blizzard froze Milotic and Damaged Solrock as well. I Decided to K.O Solrock at this instant to remove a threat, but Milotic thawed too early and K.Oed Meteo. My bad. And finally, Charged Beam, and all is cleared! Well, luck won't be useful in this situation. Only a good eye is enough! But let's use the Light Shard first! Well, this is a very obvious secret passage here. AND OF COURSE! There's a healing machine here. Why did I even bother going back to heal with the Light Shard? Well, you should, since you captured Cain. Even if he is strange, he is a valuable person. A good enough reason to free him! Cain, don't overact, please. I knew I should bring Zani here, to distract him. Well, this is the only location possible. Besides being drowned in the Lake, but it wasn't stormy this week! WHAT? You dare attack the shool of my dreams? The temple of zen martial arts? I won't allow this! ... I won't blame you for not stopping them at this moment After all, you're weak, and lambda trainers can't beat them. Ouch, what an eruption! We have to stop this! At all costs! Episode 15 : The True Tests (Part 3) For the next challenge, even worse than a gym battle, i gathered the following Pokemon : Avalugg : Ice Ball/Bite/Curse/Avalanche. Ability : Sturdy. Piloswine : Icicle Crash/Earthquake/Endure/Ice Shard. Ability : Thick Fat. Dewgong : Dive/Aurora Beam/Rest/ Perish Song. Ability : Hrdratation. Beartic : Icicle Crash/Cut/Night Slash/Brine. Ability : Snow Cloak. Aurorus@Icy Rock : Charged Beam/Icy Wind/Mist/Ancient Power. Ability : Snow Warning. Meteo(Castform) : Hydro Pump/ Fire Blast/Blizzard/Hail. Ability : Forecast. Will it be enough? Next fight will be tough. How what? You want to confess your love? That being said, Emboar was the only fire Starter he doesn't have, so... That's definitely a sign! OP Chatot I presume. Or even worse. That being said... Cal didn't helped you? Was he already defeated? Nicely said, Victoria! Apophyll will not perish today! Well, let's kick the bad guys, destroy the PULSE, and happy end! Even though it won't be that easy! There's two Meteor Admins to beat! Wait... Taka is Solaris' son? Well... I think he's likely in Meteor against his will... Solaris... You may be named from a final boss of a game I won't tell here, this time, you're too cocky! Here we are! The most difficult challenge of this episode! My entire team versus... THIS... ABSOLUTE... MONSTER! Well, I maybe have a cool Ice Team versus him, but there's the problem: -This Garchomp is Freaking lvl 75 -The field halves my Ice attacks -It's windy, so I can't use Hail. And even without it, it would be negated by the field. So no Snow Cloak haxx from Beartic. -He has two super effective attacks against Ice, with one boosted by the field. It will hurt! Plus I don't want to rely on a Focus Sash + Perish song tactic. I want to keep this Item for later. Fortunately, I can exploit one Weakness of this Garchomp : he has only Physical attacks. This is why I rely on Avalugg for this battle. If she faints before my plan can unveil, the battle is over... Step one : survive and being tanky! That's why I bought lots of X Defend and use them on Avalugg. Why X Defend? To have defense boosts quicker than using curse. So I can have at least a +2 Boost before his second attack. If Avalugg can survive 2 attacks, I have a chance. good, she survived. And now, let's continue spamming X Defend! I totally healed once with ice creams, and I took a critical Stone Edge in the face. Fortunately, Avalugg have Sturdy : she can survive this hit! So i can heal! At this point, I managed to boost Avalugg's defense to the maximum. And see, Garchomps attacks won't hurt me more than a quarter now! My biggest fear is a misplaced critical, especially from stone edge! I placed an Avalanche to see how much I need to boost. And that's a serious boost I need. I don't want to waste Curse PP's. X Attacks are the solution. Yeah, that's an item tactic! That's not skill at all, I know, but I have no choice : I don't have any stats reducing Pokemon in my party! And this Garchomp is sooooo fast! My last full restore. So I can Curse peacefully. That being said, you should think "How the Hell did he have Full restores?". The answer is a tiny Pokemon named Zigzaggon! he dropped me these valuable items! I'm nearly here! Nearly One shot by Avalanche! These attacks are frightening. I hope Avalugg can survive... I know he would heal, he has three Full restore after all. So i can place a final curse. Now please, don't crit now... Please... YEEEEPEEEEEE! The Garchomp is finally down! Until the end, I feared the worst critical ever. fortunately, it didn't come. I'm also speechless too, you know? I got you with ONE Pokemon... And of course, lots of X items, but still.. Wait... THE GARCHOMP IS STILL OK? But I KO'd him... How? WHADDAFUK? Kiki, you shouldn't be here, it's too dangerous! Especially for your team! But... how can you beat this lvl 75 Garchomp? I beaten him, but he came back.. And I even have difficulties in doing the former. How could you even achieve this? I still have an healthy Party! I could take care of the PULSE! Wow, nice idea. If this Charmina can jump this lava lake it surely can des- Wait... Cal? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING? ... And of course he did! Well it wasn't obvious this time. But him being here and with nobody questionning is presence.. That was definitely suspect. Oh no... I can't see worse death ever... Brings back my trauma about video games and lava levels... Kiki... NO! This scene... I know! Shade showed it to me in the Power Plant... I knew I already saw Kiki somewhere... ... Kiki really gave her life? She really decided to die heroically rather than letting the illness take her? If I can suggest you something, Solaris. Stop talking. You'll just encourage strange behaviors. Like this hell-face-turn! Although I still can't pardon Cal for indirectly killing Kiki! I HIGHLY PROTEST! Magmortar CAN'T learn Blast Burn! But at least, the PULSE is destroyed! I guess, Cal, you're definitely screwed. For each side. Just go away... I don't want to see you more... Cal... You purposely thrown Medicham in the lava... You originally intended this! The very school who managed to calm your anger? You're still weak, Cal. Just imagining sinding with the "Strongest side" will not make you strong. ... Well... If Victoria loved him before, now it's definitely lost forever... She was what she was. A brave and heroic Sensei. Who gave her life to protect her home. Don't ever forget her . One Burial Ceremony later... Finally, the Strength badge. But I still need the Poison badge... ... This time, I won't complain. Kiki Died on purpose, but unlike Corey, she died heroically. Guess I have to fight another Fighting leader then. Who should be even STRONGER than Kiki! That will be hard. You... Don't continue? Now that al these adventures in Apophyll are finally over, nothing can prevent you to open the Door to Byxbysion. But I need a rest. This Episode is the longest ever! And it was challenging enough. Two fighting Type Trainers, some Meteor admins, a freaking lvl 75 Garchomp... This made my day... That's finally here! The end of the 15th Episode of this Ice Monorun! What an Episode, dear Reborn followers! A good part of the scenario has been covered, and the challenges were up to their reputation. This is surely one of the hardest part of this game, for an ice trainer like me. But I think I took care of it pretty well. Well, i hope you enjoyed it. See you next time!
