justfu**ingaraund
Hello,i would appreciate some help regarding a bet i did on this game, but i am not sure if a possible answer by a developer would be too spoilerish so i 'll propose an alternate theory:for starters last week i bet with a friend of mine a good la chouffe 1,5 stout beer that Shade is or is using somewhat as a proxy a cofagrigus without a sarcophagus. Now the first piece of evidence i have are the bulbapedia lore resume and the dex description of the mon(yes, i know that if those things were reliable pokemon world would be overrun by some alakazam and metagross sticking pokeballs you know where)from which one basically evicts a cofagrigus can get lifeless bodies and turn them into mummies. Then looking up the dex description for yamask you read that the guy used to be a spirit of some human who got entombed. It is not that foreign that a cofagrigus can decide to create new ghost pokemons by grabbing some corpses right?(a lot more plausible than cat whale speed dating at least,as far as birth science goes) Now that should ring a bell shouldn't it? Why the hell does shade need Corey 's corpse for?i know that shade 's gengar is not a yamask, but, look, not every culture masks dead people, and lacking an aviable mask maybe he settled for a gengar(still waaay better than a shuppet right?). Then there is the picture of Shade. Having started the game in 2016 i don t know anything about the origin of the battle sprites, maybe that existed way before the game itself, but looking at shade s portrait, and then at the non sarcophagus part of a cofagrigus, you 'll notice similarities in eye and mouth shape(for some reason it won't let me put the shade ingame sprite in which he laughs, you will have to use google images for that) Stil once you do thatit will seem that all you have to do is take your cofagrigus shopping at Al Capone 's favourite tailor, trade old stinky coffin for cool italian retro coat and....puff instant shade. I could add more, like what the hell ancient ghost pokemon like yamask do in a pretty recent and technological power plant(which is probably answered by the near presence of the desert),but that would be beside the point, which still is the beer i bet. So if you are a developer all i need is to know if there is a cofagrigus around(who may or may not be Shade, too keep it spoilerfree). However, even if you are not a developer, but you know something about the sprites origin,or odd things i missed because they were in the precedent versions of the game like if Shade ever used a cofagrigus(odd using it when you are one yourself),you could help me win a good beer by good old convincing argument pestering. That said i apologize for my grammar and syntax, english isn't my main language
Tomas Elliot
How Shade got his job: That kinda detracts from the credibility of the Pokemon League as a legitimate organization: can you imagine Shade's job interview?Interviewer: "So, why are you applying for this position? And what makes you think you would be the right person for it?"Shade: "..."Interviewer: "Your curriculum says that you 'collect souls', could you please expand a bit on this subject?"Shade: "..."Interviewer: "Do you have any previous experience managing a gym and/or training Pokemon on a professional level?"Shade: "..."Interviewer: "Congratulations, you are hired!" Ironbound
Sure it's not due at least in part to his tastes in music? He hasn't got that iPod 4G full of "..." for no reason, after all!
