What 's the "server name" in the registration supposed to be? Also, I can't decide on a favourite type.

That'd talking about the showdown server and the name you happen to use on it, on the top left of the site is a way to access it.

What happened?

Let's just say I have a tendency to find loopholes in rules. A while back we had a team tour of sorts and one of said teams happened to suffer quite the interesting downfall. Some other teams followed suit to win the tourney in a fashion that wasn't exactly how it was expected to to go.

Do you mean "trumping" as in flatulence, or "trumping" as in building a wall between your nation and it's neighbour and making the neighbouring nation pay for it?

I mean "trumping" as in Dual Screens + Safeguard + Protect + Magic Coat + Mirror Coat + Wide Guard + a Snorlax using other nations' PP and various resources

And also having a toupee made of 60% car wax

All in all the action was coined "Bageling" and it's not the most straightforward way to win. I remember being in the winning team and not enjoying it. A bit.

By the way, the names won't be predictable. We are not trying our hardest to name them, but if you are not part of the group, you won't be able to find that knowledge. Simple as that.

Well, the rules don't say anything about it, so I guess such tactics are technically allowed as long as they fit in with the 2nd rule(not sure what that weekly challenge thing means exactly). Although, you're kinda hoping to get Normal for your nation in order for the Snorlax part to be a thing. Just because it's not against the rules doesn't mean such tactics won't be frowned upon, btw.

Also, ew, no thanks. I don't exactly take great care of my hair and that's toupee's still a bloody downgrade.

What do the nation's leaders actually do? Do they just get a fancy schmancy title and get to be the face of their nation? Or what is the deal with them?

They submit the list f people who fight each week and generally rep the nation.

It depends on the leader and their leadership style.

When I led Aurora, I decided who would battle (everyone had input, but I generally made the final decision - other leaders either just decided, or went full democratic), submitted the roster, and generally encouraged discussion on what mons we would use, who the other nation would select, what their battle skills and strategies might be, and what the best mons the opposing team had that week.

I had no title, but I think some of the other nations did. (Every nation had it's own 'culture' of sorts)

Additionally, in PokeNations 2 leaders will make represent their nation at the draft for the first 12 types and make the call when their nation is on the clock. I will make a thread detailing the process further once teams are announced. In the event that the leader can not or does not want to make the call at the draft they can PM me or Rose or Frar or.... etc. and tell us who will take their spot at the event.

Y'know, this is in the thread I made in Community Announcements

How do I become a Nation leader, and what are the responsibilities?

  • Each Nation should select a leader by popular vote. Nation leaders will speak on behalf of their nations during the Type Draft, voicing the final decision on the type that their Nation will take. Additionally, leaders are responsible for posting their Nation's roster of battlers, any decisions that the Nation makes should a challenge call for it, and contacting the committee should any problems arise.
