Sigh I don't know where you keep getting this attacking from. Jelly just made an activity post and I was just talking to my good friend Jericho In a private room. Nothing to be upset over.

So Skitty telling Secundum she shouldn't post here anymore and getting 9(!) upvotes is not attacking anyone?

I'll admit I may have jumped the gun when it came to Jelly.

Uhh...you do realize people sometimes upvote for the sake of upvoting otherwise I'd have 0 rep. Usually it's the stupid things that get upvoted instead of legitimate good points, but that's off topic.

Let's change the subject. I can honestly say I really liked this weeks challenge as the one item makes for some surprising strategy. Since there's no mega spam it really turned it back a bit towards Gen V. Some very interesting teams were made that even I certainly wasn't expecting.

I mentioned that it needed to be taken elsewhere, yes, but also that it needed to be handled better. If the issue is people being attacked that's bigger than a bit of rivalry between opponents and should probably be taken to committee members and/or the staff.

I'm not involved on either side but I can tell you right now that upvotes at the least should not be given as much value as they seemingly are; this is an organised event with six teams of at least 20 people so people rallying behind someone speaking up for them or on their behalf is not entirely surprising. Your post right after Jelly's has the same number of upvotes as his does. Yes, there is an underlying issue that has been a thing since before this but ultimately it's the same concept- a popularity contest where everyone upvotes something they agree with. I don't approve of the negative bias towards any given user and there have been two warnings handed out and a ton of unnecessary posts have been deleted from the other thread.

And because no one else has said so yet as far as I can tell, I'm going to make it official here, regarding banter:

  • Since some users do enjoy in engaging in banter, we can keep in two stipulations when dealing with it: 1) It should be left out of public channels and 2) Users in private spaces should feel comfortable reporting instances where it was unwanted so we can address them (even if without warnings)

Basically this means that we'd like it to be voluntary on both sides such that nobody who doesn't want to deal with it has to deal with it.

Today, I will be resigning from the committee ((and dropping out of Nations as a whole.))

I started on the committee really wanting to help with something that I knew some people really loved despite it's flaws back in the day. I said despite by the way. Most people knew that the first run of nations had it's issues... cause man it did. But, I really was intrigued by the idea of bringing it back to those who wanted it. To those who first found friends here, and came and stayed at Reborn because of the first Nations. Not going to name names, but I know quite a few that found a home here because of it. In part I wanted to help something that was that impactful to people back in the day once more thrive and breathe. To become something of it's own once more.

We had some plans to fix the the gripes of the past and have tried our damnedest to do so. But, I feel like any effort of doing so has fallen on deaf ears. I'm tired of being accused of rigging challenges... being blamed for my teammates match-ups in the weeks((and as a result being the reason they lost.)), and for countless other things of this nature. Any of the desire I had to make this thing something great has just been whittled away bit by bit. With the rocky as hell start maybe this was to be expected for me but I jsut cannot handle the stress. I'm tried of walking around this giant powder keg of an event where literally anything and everything turns into a giant flame war and argument. I'm tired of walking around in a place where no matter what we do...we get our heads bitten off for it.

Now, before we start to point fingers at people for "why Hukuna is leaving" don't start. Because it's no one thing in particular. I'm just tired of events that are supposed to be for fun, to bring the community together, instead doing the opposite. I'm tired of a casual event, being perverted into being only entirely about winning and competitiveness.. I understand winning is fun but at what cost? There is a reason we have things like the Redemption League, these are about testing ones skill trying to win. Nations... at least to me, should be about coming together with your nation mates, strengthening bonds and the enjoyment of it. But... maybe i'm just naive thinking that something like this could ever be a simple casual affair. Maybe I'm just an idiot for believing that maybe for once... we could make an event where players could just enjoy themselves. Instead, like always we find that everything must be drama, drama and more bad drama. Stress, stress and more stress.

All this event has been for me has been a major point of stress. I constantly have to worry about every little thing I say anytime I post in a thread and half the time it blows up around me anyway. Every time we make any decision as the committee we get everyone immediately down our throats and have to go over it time and time again.

And maybe it just sounds like I'm complaining etc... but I'm just at the end of my rope here. Before this I was in the biggest depressive spiral of my life since I actually was battling depression. I just can't handle this stress anymore. I cannot sit here and grin and bear the entirety of this weight and be okay at the end of it. I just can't have this stress in my life right now without seriously regressing... seriously going back to a place I don't want to be. This fight... isn't worth it for me. And I feel like a disgusting awful person for saying that. Because I feel like I'm letting everyone down by stepping down and not finishing this out. Yet again I step down from something I said I would do. I'm sorry for this. I apologize for giving up... However, I must, for the sake of my well being. I just cannot be a part of this any longer. The enjoyment for me... is outweighed by the the incredible amounts of stress... having to wake up everyday to another shitstorm, another 50 posts that need to be dealt with... yet another time something I've done is wrong... another message accusing me of having a bad character when I'm and trying my damn hardest to make this event as fair as possible...I just literally cannot take this anymore without it being seriously damaging to me in some way or another mentally. So, I'm have to drop.

I'm sorry for not riding this out with you guys until the end. But... I just can't be a part of this anymore.

Huk, what's important is that you're prioritising your own mental health here. If Nations was a burden to you, there's nothing wrong with lifting said burden off your shoulders.

Thanks for playing your part in organising it. Your contribution is appreciated.

Sorry to hear that, I don't really know the staff, but you're doing a good job at least as far as I can see.

another message accusing me of having a bad character when I'm and trying my damn hardest to make this event as fair as possible

Who the fuck would do something like this? That's some horrible behaviour.

As someone who joined this event late last week, and haven't been any part of the planning process at all, it's sad to hear that such things have been going on. An event like this, as with any sporting event, is based on a mutual trust where everyone trusts everyone else to play by the rules, and anyone doubting or accusing someone of cheating or in any way compromising the rules through baseless conjecture shouldn't participate in such events to begin with.

Please don't condemn the whole concept because as of this moment this event has brought me much joy through the many strategic meetings, and banter that have been going on. If there ever is a Poke Nations 3, I hope you'll reconsider your stance and try to participate once more. Though I can understand if your experiences have soured you to the concept as a whole.

I hope you get better soon, and won't let this negative experience trouble you longer than needed.

Perhaps you should visit a Pokecenter?

Names aren't important and I know the times it has happened it wasn't meant to be such, so I'm not actually angry at anyone who has for soem degree. All that needs to be known is that it's just something that has contributed to at least for me... a somewhat hostile environment while I'm in a fragile state of mind. Nobody was trying to attack me, or that in truth. I'm jsut a person that doesn't take well to that being thought about him, even if it's a joke... or a passing comment that really isn't about him but is in honest just an observation. I at times have a very hard time putting aside anger towards an outward concept and having it not look like it's at the person that said it ((when I'm not mad at them at all.))

It's jsut events that make me sure that I can't handle this right now. In the state of mind I am, this is too much for me. But, don't think in those situations that people are trying to attack me etc... almost entirely in every case I can think of, it wasn't their intent and it was me who drew the conclusion or was instead angry that it was even possible I coudl be precieved in such a light. So, don't go trying to go on a witch hunt etc... getting too up in arms about things without thinking is a lot of what is creating this stress for me in the first place.

Just know that the envirnoment in this event just isn't something I can can handle anymore and that... no one is to blame for it. No pointing fingers and I don't want to see anyone trying to pin my leaving on any one person etc... this isn't anyone's fault.

Mostly since it's an in-general statement. It's not just me I mean the accusing of the Committee as a whole. That we're tying to make things inherently unbalanced etc... I've seen it enough time that it really jsut started to irk me.

Huk, you've been trying to do nothing but good by joining Nations as a committee member. I know you wouldn't play it unfairly, like some people may say, because that's just not you. So don't beat yourself up too much over baseless accusations, okay?

I completely support your withdrawal out of Nations. As I stated before, your intention was to help people, to do good. But your health always takes priority, man. If Nations, or anything else for that matter, starts affecting you mentally in a negative way, then that's your cue to drop off. No shame in doing this, no reason to apologize. Nobody's gonna think less of you for doing this, Huk. Thanks for the work you put in Nations.

And for what it's worth, I, for one, see Nations more as a way to get acquainted with new people than as a battling event. In my opinion, this is the most important edge Nations had over other battling events on Reborn such as Zero Alliance or PRCL. In Zero Alliance, there was the constant worry of teammates backstabbing each other. In PRCL, there was literally a price on your head that determined how much you were worth. However, in Nations... You don't get to choose who you will end up with. But at the same time, all of you have the same worth and don't have to worry about a thing such as backstabbing. People that may have never met before start working together, and who knows? Maybe even a friendship will sprout out of it. That's the magic of Nations.

I also want to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone in the Atlantis Nation. Spending time with all and every one of you has been a blast so far. I won't end up naming people because then others will be left out and I don't want that to happen. Just know that, despite knowing very few people from Atlantis initially, looking back now I wouldn't want to switch Nations no matter what. Doesn't matter whether we win or lose, I've had a fun ride with Atlantis so far, and I hope that it will stay this fun. Thanks so much, all of you.

Maybe I've strayed a little too far away from what my initial post was supposed to be. But I've seen so much negativity in this topic already, that I thought some positive vibes wouldn't be out of place. So here. Have some positivity.

...I never would've expected Bibs of all people to give a well done post. (Then again I've seen him RP). Nations last season was a mess, but it was very fun. I'm sure you know the whole we are men thing in which created some drama, but you can't stop all of it. It happens and it's uncontrollable. I remember Nations well since that was the first time I made my own topic and I screwed up hard and my freak out was golden.

Anyways, I really think the whole nations thing has been taken way out of context. It's just a game where you battle other people for fun in the end. I won't give names but I did see something about an argument over how a certain user shouldn't have won a battle. A win is a win and that's all that matters. Yeah it feels bad when you make a mistake but the best is when you have those golden moments such as Dash's lucky Heracross win which you can't help but laugh about. It's frustrating to get haxed, but it also is how glorious moments come about. And I'd rather be in a nation that loses every single week while still having fun that one that pushes people around and does whatever they can to win. It's just a game.

I had a lot of fun in the first nations which is why I joined there and it wasn't always about winning. I mean you tried to win but we chatted and tried our best to win. Sometimes we had those random wtf moments such as one member of Apophyll uses Teeter Dance. Yeah we it wasn't always daisy and flowers but this is just a game where you work with other people for better or worse. I said it so many times and I'll say it one last time: it's just a game. Don't take it too seriously.

I agree completely with this. Out of all the people in Avalon, the only ones I knew before were Void, Wendel, and Swimms. I do think that while no reborn event is perfect, nations is easily the best one, as it's very much a team event.

(taps foot impatiently) Y'know for someone called Sonic, my opponent's taking his sweet time accepting my call to battle. Maybe all that time with the Water lovers has given him cold feet.

Please be patient. I've already informed one of our substitutes to prepare their team. If Sonic doesn't respond by the end of Friday, I will inform the staff that he will be subbed.

No, you dropped out because you got mad when you lost because we refused to ghost for you. And we were all polite to you.
