Before you recommend a book, please fill out the following form: Name of Book: Author: Category (Sci-Fi, Action, Comedy etc.): Summary (optional): Sci-Fi Name of Book: Pendragon Series Author: D.J. MacHale Category: Science Fiction Summary: Teenager finds out he has the ability to shift between worlds and is tasked to thwart the evil plans of Saint Dane in each of the ten worlds (10 books). Name of Book: Unwind (Series) Author: Neal Shusterman Category: Sci-Fi Summary: Imagine a world in which the United States fought a second civil war, this time about abortion. The nation was torn in two to such an extent that the US Military, acting as a mediator, proposed the Unwind Accords, a treaty which was intentionally designed to be so horrifying that it would shock the sides out of fighting each other and snap out of the stupor. But then this plan backfired and it backfired hard when both sides agreed to the treaty and the "War of Life" was over. You see, since it was such a polarized issue, every sort of government function began to break down, including public schools. This lead to mass amounts of teenagers to being stuck on the streets and so they naturally decide to organize and work to end the war in any way they can. The US Government sought to remove two birds with one stone: find a solution to the war and find a solution to the gluttons of children assaulting them into actually doing their jobs. The Unwind Accords allowed parents to chose to "Unwind" their children if they ever became a problem or they decided they no longer desired them. "Unwinding" was where the person was essentially taken apart, piece by piece, and divided up for organ donation. Except for one extra stipulation: the person is still alive, only fractured to the point where each part of their body holds a sliver of their personality. The story takes place in this society which has adapted to the idea of absolute compliance or unwinding being used as a more "permanent" solution to troublesome children. Ironbound
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember Michael, that is, mde, making a book review/recommendation thread a while ago. Granted, that one went a little...dormant...quite some time back, but even so, this would be a redundant topic unless it is specifically aimed at recommending books for you, CG, and not for all. In which case: I don't know what kind of person you are to appreciate more serious literature, but I would recommend adding a category for Fact or Non-fiction. It could contain subcategories for all kinds of good books on Economics, Political history, geography, botanical and zoological works, chronicles, and so on. I'm also surprised you didn't add a special category for Humour. It's important to laugh.

Raindrop Valkyrie
I dunno, imo a review of a book is a recommendation of a book. These threads for the most part serve the same purpose or at least over lap so much that this one just isn't necessary. I'ts like overly redunudant. ((espically if you actually looked in mde's thread since the reviews are thus without spoiling etc.. of the story so these threads are EXACTLY the same.)) Well, I may exaggerate. There were some "meh" parts in that play, but I still loved it.
