DemICE
I mean, is this even intended? To spawn while riding it inside the wasteland house? Well Aya's mom IS shouting at you about riding a pokemon in her house so it SHOULD be intended, but objectively it seems like an abuse to me. Lostelle
Uh, yeah it's intended. It allows you to get certain Pokemon, such as Beldum.
DemICE
I see. I guess at first it was a bug, and then Ame made it an actual feature. Because dying at route 1... and magically teleporting hundreds of miles away WITH the bull... screw logic

That's always how you were supposed to obtain Beldum since pseudos are supposed to be really hard to get.

DemICE
well you can always delete this thread entirely. it has served its purpose anyway i just dont feel good doing unintended things (like strength glitches) so i kinda needed a small confirmation (on the obvious) Edited June 7, 2016 by DemICE

Like a big chunk of my time on here long. People could look it up very easily at this point. It is, yeah. I wasn't really addressing this point insomuch as commenting because of a much older post I made at some point about game development and how it was hard for Reborn to have a lot of cool(er) stuff because it usually gets picked apart fairly quickly (which is what prevented me from, as I initially intended, adding a secret Eevee starter among other things)
DemICE
Yeah, its normal when you have a big community, with quite a few number of hardcore poke-adventurers who try to find out every single secret in the game And they have the time to do it because this particular game is released in parts, and there is an indefinite amount of waiting between each part. I think a good way to keep both good and old members of the community on edge, is constant changes. Though this means more work than has already been piled up, soooooo checkmate

Would you want to share the details behind that scrapped plan, or do you wish to keep it under wraps?
Kurotsune
Tl;dr I was going to add a hidden spot in the starter room that contained a hidden pokéball and flavor text about it being one of several smuggled pokémon that was left there as a gift by someone who really likes foxes. Inside there'd be an Eevee. Amethyst would be none the wiser, and assume the trainer brought their own starter along, register them and continue the game as normal. The Eevee event was going to be in a specific, hard to find tile, and as a reward the Eevee was a guaranteed shiny. Except finding that in RPG maker would take you literally five seconds and it wouldn't be worth hiding that just to have someone disclose it the same day as the beta release. So the idea was scrapped and since I really wanted to do something in regards to giving away exclusive pokémon (because I think that's a generally cool idea) I instead created the dragon tour. The problem really isn't that people are going to look for secrets, that's fine. The problem is that there are members of the community who openly use the development tools to find those secrets and often disclose them, making certain development easter eggs (like the mew inside a cage) easier to find, and other secrets that really should be found by accident or merit, fairly simple to pinpoint. Just out of curiosity, is this the same Mew that's rumored to spawn on a single patch of grass that can't be accessed? Also, what's this about a dragon tour? I hate to say this, but Kuro is right on point. People have spoiled many things in the game due to using RPGmaker such as the Sneasel and Totodile events BEFORE EPISODE 15 CAME OUT! I think people searching for this stuff no more about Reborn's secrets than myself and reveal them (there's also stuff like the bookshelf glitch which I had no idea you could interact with those books). And I mod Reborn to make the game "harder". Fun fact: I threw something in Reborn Hardcore for the sole purpose of somebody opening it up in RPGmaker and spoiling it for everybody within the week. No seriously, that's what I kind of wanted to happen since it happens all the time with regular reborn. Since it didn't, I'm probably going to scrap/change it since I can trust you people not to be spoiling everything. You guys passed the test. Aka you get Corey's mons bar Crobat. ALL. OF. THEM. Also, what's this about a dragon tour? idk about the Mew thing but the dragon tours were tournaments Reborn had monthly in which there were special twists, and the winners of each tour would get an unavailable Pokemon, mainly the Dragon pseudo-legendaries (e.g. Deino, Goomy, Dratini, etc.)

Now I feel bad. Although the dratini tile was fairly successful anyway. Guess not a lot of people had access to Maker XP then.

Tartar
If anyone asks, don't tell them I told you this but that may or may not be in my to-do list Can't you just not release the source code for the game, so that people can't rummage through the code? Kurotsune
Can't you just not release the source code for the game, so that people can't rummage through the code? That's not how it works. The game is made through RPG Maker XP which has existed by 10+ years and so there are way too many tools that can make the game editable with just one simple google search - "Decrypt rpg maker xp" and you're golden. So we don't even go through the bother.
Tartar
Oh, that's really sad that something like this is preventing you from including those really interesting secrets and Easter eggs.
Administrators Amethyst Posted June 16, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 16, 2016 The beldum event itself isn't changing. Just the timing. TI don't want the game to be closed anyway. People are going to find a way around it regardless, and I'd much rather leave it open in case people want to make mods or something.
