alaneapen
I am in the process of ev training a metagross. Since we do not have mega stones yet, should I go with 248 hp/252 atk/8 sp def tank spread or the full speed ev 252 spe spread. Nevertheless metagross's main goal is to dent the opponents team so max attack is necsssary.
DemICE
i put max attack, and then put most EVs in HP. and put just enough EVs at speed so it can reach like 350 at level 100 with one agility. i used psypoke's stat calculator
alaneapen
Thanks for the beldum trade by the way, it is a monster.
DemICE
i know right? well you could get your own beldum but it is A PAIN IN THE ASS. and breeding for a good one (shadow beldum has 10 in all IVs) is like being Dante. you go through all levels of hell until you eventually reach paradise you can use that stat calculator to put s many EVs at speed as you find comfortable. Just dont forget Agility = speed x2. now if you dont wanna use agility u can try your own stuff Edited June 8, 2016 by DemICE
Ironbound
Go 248 HP and max attack, rest in Spdef. Run agility to compensate for speed. Mash/Zenbutt/HamnerArm. Profit. Also breeding for IVs with a genderless Mon is painful. If you are not a painful perfectionist like me, don't bother.
DemICE
unfortunately i am. but i settle for 27+ rather than 30-31. you can call me a "light" perfectionist
Ironbound
And I sit here with 223 Magnemites, Magnetons and one Magnezone, in the quest to get 30/12/31/30/31/30 HP Fire IVs (which that Magnezone has.) Genderless HP Fire breeding with only one Ditto is a hellish nightmare. I needed a life back then. At least getting perfect or near-perfect IVs on Metagross was easier because no hidden power was specifically required. I had settled for 29/31/30/31/28/26; the speed was iffy but it was running Agility anyway, with the aforementioned EVs to maximise bulk and power. DemICE
just run electric move / flash cannon / signal beam / magnet rise magneton and call it a day :X its a single player game anyway and you can rely on your team for extra coverage. even if its a little challenging. Though i expect next episodes not be anymore cuz now i have monsters with egg moves running 29+ IVs :X Thats why if i ever create a game i will disable the EV system and make 30 and 31 the only possible IVs. Even wild pokemon will be challenging with that setup, and there will be no need for all this. Edited June 8, 2016 by DemICE
Ironbound
I don't go to these lengths because they're necessary to play the game. I'm a perfectionist for perfection's own sake: a collector of perfection, so to speak. I did it for the trophy value. My way of enjoying a game more. DemICE
well same for me i just for some reason don't feel right when i know that what i have is not at least CLOSE to optimal. I even did the same at rom hacks like Ruby Destiny Life of Guardians...
Tartar
I just finished training my shiny =D Beldum into an awesome Metagross with 252 atk and 252 def EV's (In Reborn). This is mostly due my team having no defensive walls, and I needed one. But if you want a sweeper you could go for 252 atk and 252 spd. Both are viable options.
