TheMadHatter
Hey guys, so I've been thinking about doing a Monotype challenge and I want you guys to give me one. The one that either has the most say or upvotes will be the one I will attempt to do. I'll also keep updates if you guys want to see my progress. And of course, do you want this done in intense mode? Fumble
Ice :3 Poison, Normal, or Flying are ones that have a lot of Pokemon early on, so I'd say one of those for a variety of team members, and in Intense because wynaut?
Imperial
Dragon in intense mode. Did one on Reborn Hardcore, with just a Deino as a starter. It was long, hard and painful at first. But once your dragons begin to evolve and easily wreck all you opponents, you really feel it was worth the hard times
daigotsurezan
I'm doing a Bug-type run in Reborn, and it's surprisingly challenging given that anything with Fire, Rock or Flying that outspeeds you becomes an unstoppable force. It's an interesting challenge, but I don't know how it would do in Rejuvenation.
Milotic
I really like flying tbh, might consider doing one myself and intense mode is always more fun Edited June 18, 2016 by Milotic
LemonJones
Find a picture with all pokemon types, assign numbers to them and hit random number generator. That's how I like to do it.
nrataw
Dragon in intense mode. Did one on Reborn Hardcore, with just a Deino as a starter. It was long, hard and painful at first. But once your dragons begin to evolve and easily wreck all you opponents, you really feel it was worth the hard times That's what I've attempted in Reju, and (although I'm not sure you can have multiple of the same pokemon in a monotype challenge,) it's freakin' hard. The only 4 dragon types you can currently have are Axew (jackpot starter), Noibat, Swablu, and one from a lucky mistery egg (but that's later in the game). All 3 of my pokes have good nature, Noibat and Swablu having good IVs as well, Axew and Noibat EV trained, yet I'm having so much trouble. I had to overlevel Axew to get dragon dance, and reverse it back to lvl30, so I can beat Keta and Amaria after. The rest often just drops to 2 resisted hits, not to mention the weak attack moves at this level. Definitely a challenge, even if you can setup somehow. TheMadHatter
Currently flying and dragon are in a tie.
Tartar
I'd go for flying since flying types are more readily available
TheMadHatter
Does the HM slave also have to be the same type?
nrataw
Does the HM slave also have to be the same type? I'm not sure about the others types (or the "rules" in general), but teaching (for example) surf to one of the 3-4 available dragons seems to be a bit problematic, so I have an other HM slave. daigotsurezan
HM slaves don't count. However you cannot use them in battle; they are only allowed to facilitate your movement through the game. If they had to share a type some runs (i.e. mono-Bug) would be impossible long-term, as no Bug types learn Surf. If you're doing a monotype run and you DO end up with your HM slave in battle (because a sudden boss wiped out everyone else), it should be weak enough to quickly die and cannot take actions which would let you win or advance in any way. TheMadHatter
Alright guys, we're gonna do a dragon monotype run. Got our first boy Axew http://prntscr.com/bkpava I will probably be adding Noibat to the team soon and later Swablu. Aside from the mystery egg, I am not sure if there's more dragons than that (Kingra?) So help would be appreciated. Also, can you have the same exact pokemon in your team as long as it follows the Monotype?

Also you're not supposed to use the same mons in a monotype, but then again you're the one playing, so its up to you lol, but right now I think all the possible dragon types right now are Dragalge, Haxorus, Altaria, Noivern, and Flygon (mystery egg). Imperial
Well, good luck, you'll need it. In my own dragon mono I had a second Noibat, but only because it was a shiny. It had very low IV and was undertrained, but Supersonic+Screech saved me several times. My advice would be to EV train quickly (in Reborn I trained speed before the second gym and the second stat before the third), it will really help. And don't hesitate to spend money on X items, especially for gym leaders. Boost while against the weakest pokemon, then you can get strong enough to face the stronger ones.
