If you haven't read that, then what the hell are you doing here?

Basically, this is the place to ask questions, point out stuff that I missed and all-around, family-friendly Despair bashing.

Please direct all your complaints to this thread.

Also, feel free to donate your Rejuv screenshots here. If I deem them useful enough, I might add them to my guide, along with a ~~stupid~~ witty Despair™ Brand Caption.

It should be possible to get into the basement in the Prologue part. Maria even said "Adventure here I come" when she entered the basement.

Another side note: In the starters room, if you get close to the Oshawott in the room, it will chase you relentlessly.

Nice work! Guides like this will be a huge help to newcomers and will probably reduce the number of help threads created.

A small note: You say Axew is unobtainable through any method other than the jackpot starter machine. Axew can actually also be obtained from the mystery egg, but it's a 1/18 chance.

In the guide, it says, "Worth noting is that Axew currently is the only jackpot starter unavailable through other means.", does that mean it is unavailable throughout the game because I'm pretty sure you can get one in the mystery egg.

Funny, cause both options give me the "No means no!" dialog. It may be bugged though so I'll definitely try it out again.

I didn't recall them being called Dexoy on my first run. Even if it's just a name for Deoxys clones, I still think it's pretty stupid. I probably just really want an excuse to bash Team Xen. I remember even Melia calls them morons at one point.

I didn't notice that Oshawott thing, I never set foot in the Water biome I think. Reborn made me lose my faith in Water starters.

I wonder if the other starters do other Pokemon-ish stuff...

Watch out for the following two trainers, as they're extremely hostile to unwanted visitors.

(Velvet Apartment, 2B)

(Team: Lv. 8 Aipom, Lv. 10 Aipom)

(Aqua Apartment, 2B)

(Team: Lv. 85 Alakazam, Lv. 85 Machamp, Lv. 85 Golem)
Alakazam only has Psychic-type attacking moves, while Machamp only has Fighting-type attacking moves.

One way to cheese this fight in early game is to get Poochyena, Misdreavus and Geodude (which can be found in the Goldenleaf Cave).

Poochyena can wall the Alakazam while getting +6 on Howl, then proceed to bite the heck out of the spoony wizard.
Misdreavus can learn Confuse Ray at Level 14, making Machamp whittle down its own HP.
Golem is a bit tricky. You'll need to breed a Geodude with HP IVs of 19 or lower. Making its HP exactly 11 at level 1. It also needs to have the ability Sturdy.
Buy about 50 Oran Berries. Switch Geodude in against Golem, and keep using Oran Berries on Geodude every time Sturdy activates. Once Golem's PP run out, it will use Struggle instead. Keep using Oran Berries and the recoil will KO Golem.

Ducklett is now available at level 5 after getting your starter from the Ranger representing Terujima Island on Oceana Pier.

Also, I need more info on Venam's Whirlipede, that thing is a living myth.

Quick information here:

One of the trainers in Venam's gym hinted that there are items hidden in the gym. Turns out there's a hidden Ability Capsule in the center room of the gym, sitting comfortably on a rock.

Go to Venam's house after beating her, and you can get the TM Poison Sweep from her mom. (Poison Sweep is useful as an anti-fairy move for Axew and a decent STAB move for the Nidorans.)

About the Casino in the hotel, the slot machines can actually be played to maximize your chances of getting a 777 (Big Bonus). One of the slot machines have the 7s closer to each other in each row, allowing you to get a maximum of 3 Reg Bonus (777 but with two different colors)! I gambled my way to 10000 coins using that slot machine.

Also, in East Gearen's shopping district, there's a chance of a Moomoo Milk Vendor to appear. Excellent recovery for midgame, but you'll be able to farm Moomoo Milk later on, easily. Another vendor that could appear there is a Flute vendor, selling Black and White Flutes for an extremely low price (I think it was 400$). Unfortunately, the Black Flute's effect isn't very potent. For the long run, you'll want to stick to Repels. I think they appear depending on the time of day.

Another thing to note is that there's a vendor in the shopping district that sells Lava Cookies, a four times cheaper alternative to the high-end Full Heals. This vendor appears here all the time, so don't worry.

Lastly, if you've updated to V8, you'll notice the Pokemon Center outside of Venam's gym got taken down and replaced by a tent. Enter there and meet ~~Radomus~~ Mr. Luck, who offers the service of changing difficulty levels. The first time is free, but I've heard that it's very expensive after the first time.

Some useful (not sure if intended) info.

After you unlock Jenkel's laboratory and the ability to go back to the goldenwood encounter to re-catch shadow pokemon (which is after the scene in Gearen Lab iirc), it is actually possible for you to purify pokemon as long as they are ready to be purified. (which isnt that difficult, you can just walk around with them for a bit)

Once they are ready all you have to do is bring that pokemon to Jenkel's Lab and use HIS purifier (on the right side of his lab) which will allow you to use Duskull/Tympole vs Venam. (You can only purify 1 pokemon per day using this method however)

You can also use this method to purify the pokemon you can catch before Keta. (although I don't know why you would want to use Vanillite or Bonsly vs Keta)

I'll also be adding the shops (don't know when each one appears though) and the slot machine once I determine which slot machine has the closer 7s (unless they are randomized of course.

Alright so I went back to reconfirm whether the slots are randomized or not.

Turns out in fact the slots are randomized and aren't bound to one slot machine only, but the possible combinations seem to be fixed.

A good way to check the slot machine's odds is to test it by putting 1 coin in first, that way you can get the slots rolling, allowing you to see everything.

Pokemon Center isn't there, since you can always heal in the Lab or the Hotel, only the tent is there.

Had no idea he shops were randomized tho, but that expains why I saw the Moomoo Milk girl on my first day of playing

You can change your difficulty for three blue shards after you changed it for free. Don't know if one would consider that "expensive", especially when considering that there doesn't appear to be any other way to put those shards to good use.

I don't really recall it correctly, but the guy offered me to change difficulty for red shards. I'm not sure if it's randomized or if I'm just dumb and remembered wrongly, but I'm assuming it's randomized for now.

Btw, part 4 is out babes. :^)

There's a hidden Moon Stone just before you fight Zetta, so if you really feel like it, you can have a Nidoqueen/Nidoking or Clefable before Keta.

I am fairly sure there are mons in Amethyst Cave... Maybe only after Galvantula?

Daily reminder: Inkay is not Water/Psychic, it's Dark/Psychic. Also, Psyduck and Golduck are pure Water, and Staryu does not gain Psychic-type until evolution. Among other things!

^ might have been fixed in public release, but I don't know because the game is still crashing during my fight with Venam q-q
