Where to begin?

Mao. Of course.

At any rate, I wanted to return to the forums to perhaps inspire myself to have new hobbies while I await returning to college this fall, and potentially keep these hobbies as I move forward in my career. A good friend of mine moved away recently, so I have pretty much been left to my own devices of what to do while my husband is working. A lot about me has changed over the last few years of my absence in the forums, but undoubtedly, most of you already know this through chat. However, there is a lot about me that has not changed, haha. A prime example would be the title of this post!

Over the last few years, I have found what I want to do with myself. I wanted to make a difference for a lot of people, but I was unsure of where to start at first. As many of you probably know, I used to volunteer at my high school for students with disabilities by helping them learn and developing good social skills. Over time, it just became clear that I can make a difference as an educator. Thus, I started the long, winding journey of becoming a certified teacher. Now my only problem is what area I want to specialize in; special education or elementary, haha. With the support of my husband, family, and friends, I reckon I will make a great teacher, no matter what area I specialize in.

Other than these differences, I would consider myself the same cat that we all know and get annoyed by. That's kinda like love, right? xD

Overall, I would like to get back in the community and pick up new hobbies for myself. I am open to suggestions of what I could get into. Referring back to my career choice, I do enjoy teaching and learning new things to give back to others, so maybe something along those lines would be a great side hobby for myself and others in the forums. Especially with schools opening back up this fall.

So throw some ideas my way, forum!

Hi Kitty! Welcome back to the forums!

I'm not really sure what to suggest as a new hobby, as I don't have the widest range of interests myself.

But I'm really impressed at your career choice. As someone who is also interested in becoming a teacher, it is great to see someone who is so dedicated to it.

Enjoy your forum return.

Hi Kitteh, welcome back to forum, for hobbies, you can always pick up a musical instrument to play and when you get comfortable with it, you can pass on that knowledge by teaching your students how to play. See you around on the forum :)
