There's a lot to say for this reupload in addition to the reupload notes above.

About shiny Gothita line: in the last announcement I mentioned I would show them when the reupload was ready. While the shiny Gothita line (along with a custom sprite for Sushi) were intended for this reupload, they'll now be added after this reupload, but before work starts on the next major reupload. Palletite and Steffi have been very busy with school, and when I said in a thread back in July that I could see this reupload arriving around mid-late August, I underestimated how busy their semester would be due to updated policies (with virtual learning as a result of COVID), class schedule challenges, etc. and there's another life situation they're dealing with too. I thought having the Gothita and Sushi sprites being in between this reupload and the next would be best and the least pressuring for everyone's schedules.

About change in debug mode: when playing in debug mode, the game skips the title screen. Since Spork does have a title screen now made by Steffi, I wanted an alternative method where the title screen and debug were both accessible (though Joiplay players can already see the title screen, since Joiplay doesn't seem to have debug). Enigma also brought up valid points earlier this year that debug can possibly sequence break. With the new debug method where you can speak to a tree in Pokemon Centers to turn it on and off, players can choose whether or not they want to use debug. With this method, I noticed that if you close the game while playing in debug, the game won't be in debug when opening, so you'll need to speak to a tree to enable it again, and will able to see the title screen.

About Team Spasma -> Team Palms change: I learned that the word spaz has a meaning that's derogatory towards people with cerebral palsy. When I originally made the clubs in Tullborn City I didn't know that's what it meant, and just learned recently. My experience with the word was from online communities around 2008-2010 where people would say things like "I'm a total spaz" in their profiles, and I assumed from the context I saw it in that it meant someone who has a lot of energy. I've changed it to Team Palms, an Exeggutor-themed club.

-removal of Fixed Bugs Memorial: I wasn't really regularly updating it since I'd forget to a lot, and it was sort of a consolation prize for the hide and seek sidequest since the original intended prize for it was obsolete. When planning and development for Spork started, the hide and seek sidequest was going to be how the player would get the Master Ball, but I later decided to have unlimited Master Balls available, so the hide and seek sidequest was in an awkward position where the purpose was obsolete but I still wanted to have it in. This issue has been solved now since the hide and seek sidequest is a prerequisite for the Eternatus quest.

Adding earlier Sea Star NPCs: The Sea Star Society is visited late-midgame, and since Sea Star NPCs and trainers appear in later areas above the surface, I thought they should appear in earlier areas too. The only reason they didn't appear until the Sea Star Society originally was because I treated the situation with how their designs would be as a bridge to cross when I got to that part of the game.

There was a lot for this reupload and I'm 100% sure I'm forgetting something I meant to say, but thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy!

Happy Halloween! 🎃 👻 🍬 🦇

     5NnT608QKTIAAAAASUVORK5CYII.png?ex=66121

Reuploaded Spork; this is mostly a bug-fixing reupload, but Solviera also updated the sprite for Delicia's cotton candy mega Ampharos, featuring seven different sweets and a radiant gradient!

-Solviera updated sprite for Delicia's cotton candy mega Ampharos

-Rillaboom's Speed corrected from 86 to 85

-Emily's Snom and Frosmoth's ability is now set to Ice Scales, and Tomas's Toxtricity's ability is now set to Technician

-Multiscale, Topsy-Turvy, and Galarian Darmantian Zen Mode issues fixed thanks to Groniack (Multiscale still activated when HP was below full, Topsy-Turvy had non-game breaking error message, and Galarian Darmanitan's Zen Mode wasn't activating)

-Galarian Darumaka now evolves into Galarian Darmanitan through Ice Stone like in the official games

-updated outdated information in obtainablepokemon notepad file that listed Forest of Feeling as a location for Murkrow, when Murkrow was switched out there for Applin

-legendarysidequests notepad file now mentions Twilight Tavern in the Eternatus quest

-the Sinistea event at Mysterious Mansion now comes with a Cracked Pot, since I realized there wasn't a way to evolve Sinistea until the Battle Mall

-raised Hex Maniac from the Ditto quest level to 42  (I changed to 40 last reupload to match Ditto's level, but I remembered wrong and the Ditto is level 42)

-the Rowlet at Aliora Meadow is now visible in the overworld

I was considering updating learnsets for the Gen 1-7 Pokemon that were added in Crown Tundra too, but since a Halloween reupload was decided on with 5 days between then and Halloween, I didn't want to push myself to update all those learnsets in 5 days, so they'll be in next time. When I was updating the Isle of Armor learnsets last reupload, I did one evo line a day to avoid physical strain from doing all of them in one or a few sittings.

One of my goals with last reupload was to get to a point where I wouldn't feel anxious about reupload timeframes (if there were bugs, inconsistencies, other pressing issues, etc.) but there were still a few things I overlooked or didn't realize. A little less than a week ago, I decided to do a bug-fixing reupload on Halloween. I was already considering it before then, and since Solviera updated the cotton candy Ampharos sprite, I thought Halloween was perfect timing!

It's been a while since there's been any news, but that doesn't mean the past couple months were uneventful. This is a major reupload that comes with several new revamped maps by Enigma, the completed shiny goth line by Palletite mentioned in a previous post, important bug fixes, and a lot more! I'm really excited to be able to release this today!

Reuploaded DDDL and Spork

DDDL:

Revamped maps added: Underwater Hotel, Technicolor Forest, Dark Dungeon, Tullborn City

SPORK UPDATES:

-Enigma revamped (and some completely new) maps added: Classic Park Sea Bed ( 🆕 ), first room of Classic Park Cave, Cool Cave, Norall City, Pokemon Research Institute, Cyberspace, Skating Rink, Norall Mountain, Dark Dungeon, Tullborn City, Inoset Island, Inoset Ocean, Underwater Hotel, Ryoko's Castle ( 🆕 ), Roundabout Rapids ( 🆕 ), Liliech City, Technicolor Forest, Tower of Heracross, Lovely Lake, Silk Studio, Secret Playground, Virtual Battlefield ( 🆕 )

-custom shiny Gothita line by Palletite

-Steffi made new party screen icon for cotton candy mega Ampharos

-Steffi made new battle background for Lanturn Lighthouse

-updated learnsets for Pokemon added to SwSh in the Crown Tundra DLC

-added an NPC to the Pokemon Research Institute that sells Pokemon-specific stat raising items (ex: Light Ball, Lucky Punch)

-added a monument to Groniack in the House of Gratitude for being very helpful with script fixes for battle errors

-changed the Impidimp and Hatenna lines' gender ratios to 50/50 because Rania's Galar Arena team has an Impidimp named after Marnie

-Darius's battle theme in the Battle Tower is now the Sea Star battle theme (he's a Sea Star, but I forgot to give him the Sea Star battle theme originally)

-the debug explanation when speaking to the trees in Pokemon Centers now happens only once, instead of the player needing to listen to the explanation from each one in each Pokemon Center

-Aurora's Abomasnow is now set to have Snow Warning

-the dentist's G-Rapidash is now set to have Pastel Veil

SPORK BUG FIXES:

-fixed freezing issue when speaking to Ashley and Dylan before their gym battles when interacting with them from the right side

-Morgrem now evolves into Grimmsnarl at level 42 as intended instead of 52

-Belch and Flower Shield now have the correct move effects

-Throat Chop's in-battle messages now line up with when the move was used, and the Pokemon's name now displays instead of {1}

-V-create no longer damages the user's ally in double battles

-Psychic Fangs now breaks through barriers and is classed as a biting move

-in double battles, Diamond Storm now targets both opponents instead of only one

-updated leftover dialogue where after the battle with Galar Lass Ayumu, she said "Maybe we'll see each other back in Alola sometime!" instead of Galar

-fixed typo with a trash can in a house in Party City said to have an empty "back of batteries" instead of pack of batteries

-the move tutor in the third EV Training Center now has one option for Close Combat instead of two, and the tmsandtutorslocationlist notepad file now lists Heat Crash once for him instead of twice

-can no longer walk through a black space tile in the starting room in Virima Hotel

It was hard to choose just a few screenshots to show of the new revamped areas. There were a lot I considered, but I didn't want to overload the post with screenshots both so that players can have areas to see for themselves and in case trying to load too many images would cause anyone's computers to lag. That's also why only the shiny Gothitelle was posted when I usually showcase the whole line. The shiny goths are blue and gold, starting out bright with Gothita and getting darker when they evolve!

In addition to all of the new revamped maps, Enigma made a few that are completely new! Classic Park Sea Bed is a diving area at the Ocean section of Classic Park, where the player can find Kabuto and Tirtouga. Ryoko's Castle is Draga's new gym, in which the player has to answer riddles about Dragon-type Pokemon to proceed. Roundabout Rapids is an area between Inoset Island and Liliech City featuring a maze of water currents. The Virtual Battlefield is an area of Cyberspace made for the postgame quest where the player battles simulations of the retired Gym Leaders.

I also added something of my own to one of the revamped maps: I thought about how after you battle Team Aqua or Magma at Mt. Chimney in Hoenn, new trainers will be there if you revisit it, and decided to do that with Norall Mountain after the Pandora battle. There's a new cutscene going back down the mountain where Team Portal offers to take you back to Norall for the players who don't want to be stuck battling trainers on the way back if their teams wouldn't be in the condition for it, since you couldn't access a Pokemon Center until you got back to the city. This cutscene is missable if you Fly back to Norall immediately instead of descending the mountain.

I hope I remembered everything I was going to say. I thought I'd have too much to say that could fit into one post, so I tried to condense it. EDIT: There actually was something I forgot to say: before updating, make sure to save in a Pokemon Center or in a map that hasn't been updated this reupload!

Happy New Year! 🎉 🎊 🎇 I hope you all have an amazing 2021! Thanks to everyone who's helped with Spork and who enjoys the game! There's still a lot planned for the future!

Reuploaded Spork again:

-added revamped Norall City houses

-fixed freeze when approaching the sliding ice at the snowy section of Weather Wonderland

-can no longer walk through the Cyberspace panorama graphic

-the underwater panorama is no longer visible behind the player in the guest rooms at the Underwater Hotel

-Skating Rink candy cane pillar priority fix

-can no longer walk through the sides of the elevator at Silk Studio and two of the wall tiles at Wendy's arena

Sorry about those errors, a couple of them didn't occur in testing and a few of them were oversights on my part, but I'm glad they were discovered and fixed early. Thanks to Vince, Enigma, and Steffi for help in finding and fixing them!

Reuploaded Spork again for recently discovered bugs:

-corrected numbering of Missingno's Flying and Poison battle sprites, they were switched around

-can no longer walk on the counters at the Underwater Hotel marketplace

-fixed passability errors where you could walk into a tile of several of the trees (as well as a lamp) in Liliech City, Wendy's arena at Silk Studio, Technicolor Forest, Tower of Heracross, Lovely Lake, and Secret Playground

-fixed directional passability of the ladder leading to Mable's treehouse and a few of the objects at the Secret Playground where you're supposed to be able to walk in some directions on them but not all

Reuploaded again for recently discovered errors

DDDL:

-added the custom border and UI that Enigma made

Spork Updates:

-added the custom border and UI that Enigma made

-for the Buzzwole event at the Tower of Heracross, Arnalda now acknowledges/has updated dialogue if the player is Champion (previously the dialogue always acted as if the player was meeting Arnalda for the first time)

-for a line of dialogue when speaking to Alumia for the Iron Plate/simulations quest, "I know you've battled ICSW and Meda", this line is now different depending on whether the player has battled ICSW or not, since that battle is optional

-automatic healing after encounters in Shiny Scouting so players don't have to backtrack between Shiny Scouting and the Pokemon Center

Spork Bug Fixes:

-fixing the panorama passability with Cyberspace caused the game to be frozen when the player entered the Virtual Battlefield; this has been fixed by giving the Virtual Battlefield its own tileset

-the Glaceon for the Regice quest is now at the revamped Norall Mountain; I forgot to copy/paste it there from the old map originally which made the Regice quest (and by extension, Entei and Regigigas's quests) uncompleteable unless you chose Eevee for the Eeveelution zodiac

-the Cufant at Lanturn Lighthouse are now level 5 as intended instead of level 65

Here's the screen border and UI that Enigma made recently!

hkWNBOQDcs0AAAAASUVORK5CYII.png?ex=6612c

I think the colors go well together, and I really like the ribbon in the top left corner! The gingham pattern also reminds me of a picnic basket, which fits well with the food themes in Spork. Thanks to Enigma for making it!

The screen border can be activated in Options -> Screen Border. Previously the screen border and UI were default Essentials.

Reuploaded Spork

UPDATES:

-shiny ice cream sand witch Hatenna line by Haku/MegaLiontamer

-Kelani's Mawile -> G-Rapidash (nickname Starlight) at Enigma's request

-since one of the NPCs I put in the revamped Liliech City gave a Rose Incense, there's now one of each incense given by NPCs or on the overworld at various places in the game

BUG FIXES:

-added missing Marble to the revamped Tullborn Harbor

-updated information in the marblelocations and hideandseeklocations notepad files for Carol's gym where the info was from before it was changed to the Candy Land layout

I was pinged in the Reborn server when MegaLiontamer/Haku posted sprites of a shiny Hatenna ice cream line, and I liked them so much I asked if I could use them in Spork! I thought they'd fit in perfectly, and Haku allowed me to use them. Thanks to MegaLiontamer/Haku for making them!

The next reupload (as of the last one) was going to include gigantamegas and a few other things too, but I thought it was important to reupload again as soon as possible for the missing Marble. When gigantamegas are added, my team will have the mega ice cream sand witch!

Reuploaded Spork and DDDL

DDDL:

-moves that had their power, accuracy, or PP changed from Gen 5 -> Gen 6 have now received those updates

SPORK UPDATES:

-added a new planet: Planet Puzzle

-gigantamegas have been added

-Angela's Mega Pidgeot -> Mega Butterfree (nickname Amazonite)

-ICSW's Mega Diancie -> shiny Mega Hatterene (nickname ICSW)

-Chelsea's Lapras, Tomas's Toxtricity, and Carol's Alcremie are now mega in their postgame rematches

-Angela now gives the Butterfreenite after the gym battle (Pidgeotite is now found in the overworld at Angela's Aviary)

-after you've unlocked Kayla's postgame rematch, there's now an additional option for a 6v6 Pokemon battle where she doesn't participate as a Pokemon herself; her other Pokemon is a Leafeon (nickname Fukua)

-added a Couragi hint system for the riddles in Ryoko's Castle

-there are now NPCs who can change the forms of Burmy, Shellos, and Deerling, since those Pokemon can normally only be found in one form unless you chose them as a starter and selected their form from there (Burmy changer is at Virima Hotel, Shellos changer is at Bolaii Beach, and Deerling changer is at Forest of Feeling)

-all Pokemon now have the highest catch rate of 255

-several characters now have custom Key Stone items like in XY and ORAS (full list further down the post)

-added a note to the debug-enabling trees in Pokemon Centers to close the game by x-ing out of the game window instead of soft resetting with an f key if you're in debug, since soft resetting while in debug will cause an error the next time the game is loaded up

-added a vitamin seller to the Vitamin Factory, as well as an ingredient-mixing NPC that can give the X2, X3, and X6 variations of the X items

-the rainbow ice at the Skating Rink now has the properties of sliding ice as Enigma intended

-Rapid Spin now also raises the user's Speed like in Gen 8

-moves that had their power, accuracy, or PP changed from Gen 5 -> Gen 6 have now received those updates

-added a sign outside the Name Rater's house in Cianosa City

-removed Sky Drop and Copycat from the game's data entirely. While previously they had been deleted from Pokemon learnsets due to infinite loop errors when using the moves, it was still possible for Metronome to call them

SPORK BUG FIXES:

-Emily no longer reappears in the starting room at Virima Hotel if you enter the room with the Run option set to hold or set Run to hold while in the room and perform any action

-using a healing machine after getting the second badge no longer causes the second gym battle or story progress from the 7th-8th gym to reset

-all Pokemon should now have the correct EXP growth rates

-the Totodile line can now learn Dragon Dance as a tutor move

-Mystical Fire now lowers the target's Special Attack

-the end of the scene with the Pandora battle at Silk Studio no longer shows Pandora walking back into the elevator

-fixed typo in the tmandtutorlocationlist notepad file where District was spelled "Distruct"

On Planet Puzzle, you'll participate in a game show with eight puzzle rooms, switching between each member of Smoothie! You can visit Planet Puzzle after getting Regigigas and having visited Planet Amity at least once. I had a lot of fun making this area! This is also where you'll be able to obtain Regieleki and Regidrago when the Gen 8 DLC Pokemon are ready to be added (which will be when Rejuvenation adds the data for them in V13.5). Thanks to Steffi for Planet Puzzle's battle background, and Palletite for the player character simulation nickname themes (and also help with some of the custom Key Stone names for characters)!

Since several people were having a hard time with the riddles at Draga's gym (especially the Dragapult one), I added a Couragi hint system, where if you answer a riddle incorrectly, Couragi will appear and ask if you want a hint. I'm not yet sure if the hints are the final safety net, it depends on how helpful the hints end up being for people. Another option I considered was a guide, but that would maybe be included in a long-term goal I have of adding a walkthrough file for the main story to the game folder, which would happen late this year at earliest. Enigma also asked if the Dragapult riddle should be updated or replaced, which is something I'm open to.

List of custom Key Stone items: Gina = Mega Mirror, Chelsea = Mega Microphone, Lee = Mega Bracelet, Draga = Mega Cube, Tomas = Mega Mask, Carol = Mega Whisk, Mulder = Mega Belt, Angela = Mega Lapis, DJ Ultra Beats = Mega Headphones, Triston = Mega Stickpin, Seamus = Mega Clover, Peach = Mega Pin, Agne = Mega Meteorite, Pandora = Mega Shades, ICSW = Mega Spork, Guardian = Mega Key, Meda = Mega Stethoscope, Dentist = Mega Drill

Emily and Crolea keep the Mega Ring since they get it the same time the player does. I think Ring already fits Alumia, and I don't imagine Rania or Brutus would care much about customizing theirs. Arnalda got the Mega Ring from Kalos before coming to Ceolis. and Delicia and Ceolis's megas already appear in their mega form when they're sent out.

I feel like my scripting and mapping ability leveled 🆙 slightly this reupload!

Something that isn't in this reupload that I still wanted to show is the Ceolis region map that Enigma made! Enigma said that the map would need to be remade due to alignment issues, but here's what it'll look like! I really like how each area is noticeable from the background details!

This is mainly a bug fixing reupload that was done at this time to fix an issue reported yesterday that prevented completion of the hide and seek quest, and by extension the Eternatus quest as well.

The reason the incense vendor was moved to the day care is that incenses are very expensive for the beginning of the game, and the day care might be the most convenient place to have them be sold at since a few Pokemon need to have an incense in order to have an egg of their first stage. A feather vendor now takes the incense vendor's place at Virima City because I realized the feather items weren't available anywhere in the game.

DDDL

-when characters sing, there's now a music note icon at the end of their singing lines instead of a tilde

SPORK UPDATES

-each Eeveelution now has a custom move (thanks to Cynesthesia for the move ideas, and to Cervys for helping to script the Espeon move!)

-Shiny, Dawn, Dusk, and Ice Stones can now be found while mining (thanks to Cass for the mining scripts and graphics!)

-the EV Training Center rooms now also have EV Trainers with teams of 6 you can battle if you're looking for faster EV gain than individual wild encounters

-Steffi made shiny Mega Alakazam backsprite (I didn't realize it was missing until last year, and kept procrastinating because I couldn't remember which pattern in Paint I used to make the rest of the line)

-added some trainers and items to Roundabout Rapids

-added Shell Bell as a Battle Frontier prize since I realized it wasn't available there or anywhere else ingame (one of the items added to Roundabout Rapids is also a Shell Bell)

-re-added the move Infestation as well as the TM for it since I was able to fix the error message that popped up when it was used

-changed the way Deerling and Sawsbuck's forms work. Instead of being dependent on the season, they're now randomly generated like Unown and Flabebe

-when characters sing, there's now a music note icon at the end of their singing lines instead of a tilde

-The Department Store floor that sells Poke Balls now also has an NPC that can change the type of Poke Ball your Pokemon is in

-Victory Road waterfalls are now like the other waterfalls in the game where you just need the HM and not a Pokemon in your party that knows the move

-the tourist trainer who appears at both the Virima Hotel and Underwater Hotel now only appears at the latter after you've battled him and gotten the Marble from his computer at the former

-syntax: all uses of Gym, Badge, League, Trial Captain, Island Kahuna, and the word mega in reference to Mega Evolution have been capitalized like in the official games

SPORK BUG FIXES

-doing the postgame rematch with Ashley or Dylan a second time while you're still in the room after having done the rematch once no longer causes them to walk into a wall (also fixed direction facing when speaking to them from the sides)

-when viewing a Pokemon species in the Pokedex, the Fairy-type icon now displays for Fairy-type Pokemon

-corrected the color of the top half of the Lure Ball in the Pictures folder; previously it was green when it's supposed to be blue

-in the tmandtutorlocationlist notepad file, the Volt Switch TM's description has been updated to refer to Team Palms; previously it still mentioned the club's older name

-fixed inconsistency where Milcery's Pokedex entry was "Magical girl" with the g in girl lowercase while Alcremie's was "Magical Girl" capitalized

-added Adventurer Cradily, Dreamer Musharna, and Musical Corsola to the Pokemon League Pokemon Center since I realized they were missing from there
-corrected the base stats and EV yield of some Gen 8 Pokemon that had incorrect stats listed for them

-corrected the steps for eggs to hatch for all Gen 8 Pokemon (they were a little higher than they were supposed to be)

-a few Pokemon had incorrect base EXP yields, those have been corrected

-adjusted battler altitude for Pokemon whose battlefield positioning/placement needed adjusting

The Eeveelution moves are as follows:

Vaporeon has Vaporeonwave, a 90 power move that lowers the target's Speed one stage

Jolteon has Spiky Surge, which does damage based on the user's Speed vs the target's Defense

Flareon has Volcano Tackle, which is a physical Lava Plume

Espeon has Psyswitch, which is a damage-dealing move that switches out the user after like Volt Switch, and the Pokemon Espeon switches into also gains Espeon's stat changes like Baton Pass

Umbreon has Shadow Slam, which is a Dark-type Body Press

Leafeon has Life Blade, which is Leaf Blade as a draining move

Glaceon has Aurora Hail, which sets up Aurora Veil without the need for Hail

Sylveon still has Pix (now not just exclusive to ICSW's), but the conditions were changed from Tri Attack's to sleep, infatuation, and confusion. This was the original intended effect but I didn't have the scripting skills to make it that way when I first added it during 2017 development

These moves are learned at level 50.

The reason for the change in Deerling and Sawsbuck's forms is that when playtesting during this reupload, I noticed Deerling and Sawsbuck couldn't change forms at all, even with debug. I did research and learned that their forms are tied to IRL months. This also meant that if you chose Deerling as a starter, it would always be in whichever form matches the current month regardless of which form you selected when choosing it. I made the forms randomly generated so that if players have a favorite Deerling and Sawsbuck form, they can get them during any season.

I make lists in advance of what to do for each reupload, and this one is a lot different than what was originally intended. Me and a few other members of the Spork team had a lot of IRL situations in April. I thought I wouldn't be able to do anything super major and time-consuming for a while, so I shifted focus to smaller odds and ends. But I think I'll be able to move forward with some of 2021's major plans soon! Some of them I can't do until Rejuv V13.5 when we have Gen 8 DLC assets, but there are others that won't require them.

DDDL

-added better day and night screen tones script by VanillaSunshine

-syntax: candy shop -> Sweets Shop

Spork Updates

-custom shiny Finneon and Lumineon sprites made by Palletite and Steffi

-separated starter selection into rooms for each Pokemon generation

-added better day and night screen tones script by VanillaSunshine (found by Enigma)

-syntax: candy shop -> Sweets Shop, Herb Shop and Berry Shop are now capitalized when mentioned by NPCs, Dentist's Office is capitalized

Spork Bug Fixes

-Farfetch'd, Teddiursa, Wailmer, Skorupi, and Yamask are available as starters again (they got lost last year when I separated starter selection into two maps, and I didn't realize until a couple days ago)

-can no longer hop up a part of the ledge at the Cave of Resolve

-for Pokemon caught with a Lure Ball, the top half of the Lure Ball icon on their summary screen is now the correct blue instead of green (last reupload I fixed the colors for when the player is throwing a Lure Ball, but didn't realize the summary screen icon for Lure Balls was like that too)

-Aron no longer faces backwards in starter selection

This is an early reupload. When I was playtesting the starter rooms and learned there were five missing starters I thought it was best to reupload as soon as I was able. Last year I separated starter selection into two connected maps to reduce lag, and I think it helped but didn't erase it completely. I still noticed it taking longer to walk, and at the area where the maps are connected, there would be a couple seconds of inactivity before the player resumed walking.

Someone requested me to separate the starter room by generation last year, and at the time I responded that it was something I considered before but didn't know how to address a few factors, like if Litwick would follow the player into each room, and I also felt having all of them in one room fit better with the dream context. But I think I was overthinking it back then. There's also Joiplay and future gens to consider. I think helping reduce lag would be especially important for people playing on Joiplay. And for Gen 9 and beyond, with the old layout I'd have to keep making updates to the starter selection to ensure the least amount of lag. With each gen having its own room, I don't have to worry about planning around having too many events on one map.

Alolan and Galarian forms are in the Alola and Galar sections respectively, since they function as different species in Spork.

The shiny Finneon and Lumineon are based on the Gen 4 beta sprites for them that were leaked a few months ago! I really liked the Lumineon's colors and immediately considered it as a shiny idea when I saw it. I'm amazed at how the sprites Palletite and Steffi made turned out!

Something else I wanted to show in the post that's for a future reupload is a screenshot of the revamped Ocean Coast Enigma's been working on!

image.png.d6d29ddcd2e6c08160c6bb01d7a21cca.png

This is the shoreline. While before you entered Ocean Coast going west from the Sea of Knowledge, now you go north. Ocean Coast's layout and connections to surrounding areas have been updated completely. Although you can't see all of them just from this screenshot, I like how many colors and shades are in the rocks and cliffs for Ocean Coast!

I was originally going to post a screenshot in front of the diving entrance to the Sea Star Society too, but I decided to save that for the reupload when the map set is complete. The next set of new maps will be added to Spork when the revamps reach up to Mt. Comet, since that fits best for map transitions (like having both parts of the Sea of Knowledge) and is Enigma's current vision with this set.

Reuploaded. All the info below is for Spork; I don't believe I made any changes to DDDL since the last reupload (but still reuploaded DDDL just in case)

Updates

-custom shiny Sunkern and Sunflora sprites made by Steffi

-PC boxes are now available on the pause menu like in SwSh

-all player character options now show up at once on the intro scene, so players can see all three at the same time when making a decision. The boy, girl, and non-binary text options for the decision have also been changed to Left, Middle, and Right

-added items: Twisted Rock (a Trick Room extending item, thanks to Cervys for the script!), Terrain Extender, and Room Service. These items are sold by the weather rock and seed vendor at the Battle Mall, and a Twisted Rock is now also given by the Hiker at the Fork Gatehouse who gives weather rocks when spoken to

-added Poke Balls: Dream Ball and Ceolis Ball (thanks to Steffi for the Ceolis Ball graphics and Dream Ball summary icon!). These Poke Balls can be bought at the Poke Ball floor of the Department Store, and Ceolis Balls are also sold at the Sea Star Society's Pokemart

-added abilities Water Bubble and Punk Rock

-changed Tomas's Toxtricity's ability to Punk Rock

-added notepad file "evomethodsandotherchanges" for mechanics that work differently in Spork than they do in the official games

-Mr. Rhyme is now a Mr. Rime (still named Mr. Rhyme)

-added text to more objects in Gina's house in the first Dark Dungeon dream

-changed the Surf prompt text because "The water is a deep blue" doesn't apply to the Yellow Sea

-updated the Nosy Nosepass interview of Chelsea with a couple more puns

-removed the red and blue font colors from dialogue of NPCs copied from base Essentials (move relearner, Game Corner employees, daycare couple, name rater) (I kept the red text for the nurses though)

-syntax: Bike Shop capitalization

Bug Fixes

-Stamina now activates/was (possibly re-?)added to the game

-When Berserk activates, the text now says Berserk instead of Stamina

-the Hiker at the Battle VR now uses the more recent Hiker sprite

-the obtainablepokemon notepad file info for Goomy is now accurate

-can no longer walk through the books in Gina's room in the first Dark Dungeon dream

The shiny Sunkern and Sunflora are based on the tree at the Crown Tundra where the Galarian legendary birds are first seen! We've had this idea since last year. Sunkern was brought up for consideration due to being one of the shinies that looks very close to the regular Pokemon, and when I saw that tree from the trailer I thought of how the shinies would look with those colors, and also really liked the way the tree looks.

The Ceolis Ball is like a Premier Ball in that it doesn't have any functional differences from a regular Poke Ball and is purely cosmetic. It's existed in the game's data for a while, as it's the type of Poke Ball Ceolis sends out his Pokemon with in battle, but hasn't been obtainable until now.

For the intro scene: I've always wanted to have all player character options available on the screen at once. In a reupload last year I added an "Is this you?" question after selecting a player so that people can go back and see the other options, but now I was able to put all three on the screen at once from looking at the intro scene event page in Pokemon Redemption.

The new notepad file lists information on evo methods, forms (like Alolan and Galarian forms being treated as their own species), gender mechanics, ability notes, and a few other details where Spork differs from the official games. A lot of this information is already listed elsewhere, like in other notepad files or in the FAQ, but I thought it'd be helpful to have all of it accessible in one place too.

I've noticed how each year from 2019 to now has a different reupload frequency.

2019: after the initial release of ep 8 and the bug-fixing reuploads that followed shortly after, reuploads happened around every month and a half-2 months.

2020: aside from a few bug-fixing reuploads, there were less reuploads, with a few months in between but with a lot of content

2021: so far it's been very chaotic. There's been a mix of major reuploads, reuploads solely for bug-fixing, and reuploads that included a couple additions that were made early due to major bugs being found.

It's possible there might be a shift for the second half of 2021, with longer times between reuploads. Looking at upcoming plans, a lot will take a while.

Here's what I have planned currently for the future, in no particular order:

Smoothie solo songs: each member of Smoothie getting their own individual song. This is probably the one I can do the soonest, since it doesn't require Gen 8 DLC or any other resources I don't currently have. But I would need to do some planning in advance, for the songs (lyrics and choosing the locations) and the start of the quest.

Gen 8 DLC + new planet: I've planned out most of the quests for the Gen 8 DLC Pokemon in advance, and I don't think those by themselves would take that long. But I'm also adding a new planet. This new planet will be Isabelle-connected like Wonky Woods and Umira. Although it's not related to any Pokemon quests, I'll still need to wait for the Gen 8 DLC resources to add it, because along with its own atmosphere, it'll also have simulation trainers with teams matching those of every character from the official series. Since Klara and Avery have G-Slowbro and Mustard has Urshifu, that's why I'd need to wait until then. I also plan to go all out with this planet on the zaniness. In addition to the random text and objects already featured in maps like Wonky Woods and Umira and with the simulation trainers, I'd like to up my game here and add more factors.

Colorful Reupload: for episode 8 I made skin tone variations of most NPCs. For the colorful reupload, what I'd be doing is making both versions of these NPCs have different colors for the hair, clothes, and/or eyes (with review + assistance from Palletite and Steffi). I actually spent a lot of time between last reupload and this one forming ideas and some designs have already been made, but may not be the final versions.

Experimental Reupload: this is where I'll be looking at ideas I've had for a while but haven't fully decided on whether or not I want to do.

There's also smaller tasks like attempting to script more moves and items from Gens 7 and 8, and I also have a few more ideas for custom shiny concepts.

It should be noted that this just covers upcoming plans from my end. I'm not able to speak for the schedules of the rest of team Spork for example with spriting and map revamps, but I thought it was important to mention possible length between reupload times in the future since my plans might take a while and I know other members of team Spork have ongoing IRL situations. Thank you for your patience and continued enjoyment of Spork!

UPDATES

-added a Galar legendary quiz to the legendary move tutor quizzes

-male Pokemon can now breed with other male Pokemon and female Pokemon can breed with other female Pokemon

-it no longer costs money to withdraw a Pokemon from the day care

-updated Cherry's rap at the Rap Battle House

-added text to the books on the floor in Virima Library

-added info to evomethodsandotherchanges notepad file on learnsets, HMs, and shiny rate

-Anthony's Araquanid's nickname changed from Waterfox to Netscape

-added a Toxtricity to Noise Pollution

BUG FIXES

-fixed freeze that occurs in Quinn's office in the BCC Building if you approach the scene from the left or right tiles instead of the middle

-fixed typo in the Kanto quiz where if you answer "Make quizzes" to the fourth question, the response was "Sorry, that's incorrect. Do I like anything like Lorelei to you?" instead of "Do I look anything like Lorelei to you?"

-updated leftover text in the Sinnoh quiz where answering Rad Rickshaw to the second question would lead to dialogue about Felicity instead of Rad Rickshaw

ZtvO69O.png

I've been unsure about the older version of Cherry's intro rap since I first made it in ep 1. House and douse don't rhyme, they're just spelled similar. There were also a couple other lines that either felt like a stretch to me or I just wasn't feeling. If I had to rate the raps of all the trainers in the Rap Battle House from favorite to least favorite, Cherry's original part here might've been on the lower end, and I think this is an improvement.

The line "I don't just box on the beat" (referring to beatboxing) randomly popped into my head a few days ago and that's when I decided to update Cherry's rap here.

Overall a lot of the updates in this reupload are smaller ones. The Smoothie solo songs were going to be in this one, but the BCC Building bug was game-breaking, and I try to upload fixes for game-breaking bugs as soon as I'm able to find the cause and fix them.

On the subject of music, Noise Pollution will also be getting a song called Toxtri City in the future! That one will be related to the Galarian Moltres quest when Gen 8 DLC Pokemon can be added.

-Anthony now has different dialogue at Crolea's birthday party if you didn't speak to him at the Pokemon Research Institute prior to attending the party

BUG FIXES

-at Shiny Scouting, Eternatus encounter options are now activated by action button instead of event touch

-evomethodsandotherchanges notepad file now mentions that it doesn't need to be night for Galarian Linoone to evolve into Obstagoon

Reupload plans changed a lot the past month. Smoothie solos and Gen 8 DLC Pokemon were added at the same time. One day last month the topic of Gen 8 DLC Pokemon came up in the Rejuv dev server, where Jan mentioned that we do have sprites for them since leparagon gave us permission to use theirs, and they just hadn't been added yet. Following this realization, I started adding them to Spork.

The legendarysidequests notepad file has been updated with information on how to obtain the new legendaries.

The following are not currently included:

-Gen 8 DLC gigantamegas: the document we (Rejuv team) have for deciding on their abilities and stats doesn't currently have anything for Urshifu

-battle cries

-summary screen icons for Gen 8 DLC Pokemon are all Slowpoke as placeholders for now, similar to how Lycanroc was once used as a placeholder for the Pokemon added in USUM

Smoothie solo song names

Lemon: Scenic Route

Orange: Aromatherapy

Cherry: Cherry Blossoms

Lime: GRASS GREEN NEW WORLD

Grape: Solo Solo

Blueberry: Relic Anthem

Strawberry: Plushie Party

You can start the Smoothie solos arc after completing Planet Puzzle. If you've already completed it, you would go back to Planet Puzzle and then leave.

Also as part of the change in reupload plans, the new planet that was going to be included with Gen 8 DLC has been moved to next reupload. There's still brainstorming that needs to be done for it, and I feel like it'd be easier to work on at 💯 % energy as opposed to in the same timeframe as Smoothie solos and Gen 8 DLC Pokemon, which both used a lot of brain battery. I really enjoyed doing them, though, and I hope everyone else enjoys them too!

Reuploaded Spork

UPDATES

-new planet added: Planet Spork

-for the Olidroll Police Station quests, replaced Martial Arts Melee with a new quest called Weakness Police

-Gigantamegas for Kanto starters, Galar starters, and Gengar now available (Urshifu still pending)

-the Zygarde at Shiny Scouting is now in 10% form instead of 50%

-updated BDSP learnsets

-item in Cave of Gratitude changed from Weakness Policy to Terrain Extender, Room Service, and Twisted Rock

-changed Planet Amity's music to GlitchxCity's recent Deltarune Sound Studio remix, which is also the music for Planet Spork

BUG FIXES

-can no longer surf in the overworld if you have a Pokemon that learns Surf by level up before obtaining the HM for it*

-Blackwater Cave now has autoheal for players who chose the Leafeon sign

-the evomethodsandotherchanges notepad file now mentions that it doesn't need to be raining for Sliggoo to evolve into Goodra

*I set the required badges to surf in the overworld to 8, meaning it's still possible between getting the 8th badge and obtaining the Surf HM. I wasn't sure how to prevent that, but it's a small timeframe that I'm way less concerned about than being able to surf from the start of the game

For the new police station sidequest, I had a sudden idea for a sidequest a few days ago when thinking of a pun on the item Weakness Policy (Weakness Police). It replaces the sidequest where you would battle a trainer who was preparing to take on Olidroll's gyms, since that quest wasn't very police-related. Unfortunately, if you've already completed the police station quests, it's not possible to go back and do the Weakness Police quest since I wasn't sure how to make it retroactive with the quests structure. I can edit save files to set the necessary switches on or off and have it doable that way though.

Planet Spork has: a room where you can battle all the characters from the official Pokemon games as mentioned in previous posts, trivia related to the development process of the other planets in Spork (Disco, Coral, Amity, and Puzzle), a campfire scene, and more silliness from Isabelle's abilities. I had a lot of fun making it and I hope it's a lot of fun to explore for everyone else too! Planet Spork is available after having visited Planet Amity.

Reuploaded:

-Legendary Pokemon are now available as starter options

-Dialga quest has been changed; the Temple of Time is now a place where you can replay story battles and Dialga can be obtained after unlocking every available battle

-Sinnoh quiz changes: the question about who you would go to if you wanted to see rare Pokemon has been changed to a question about the names of the three major lakes in Sinnoh, and the question about the attributes represented by the Lake Trio has been changed to a question about the region's original name

-Pokemon that learned new moves in PLA now have those moves in Spork

-Pandora's Gardevoir's moveset: Focus Blast changed to Aura Sphere

-Cherrim's Sunshine form now has its PLA stats

-added a battle on Planet Spork for the Kimono Girls. Like the Shadow Triad battle, it's one trainer battle containing all their Pokemon

-DJ Ultra Beats' Xurkitree nickname changed from vflower to flower (the Vocaloid Xurkitree is named after used to be called vflower but now just goes by flower)

-Gen 8 DLC Pokemon battle cries added (thanks to Bladeheart111x for uploading them in another thread!)

-Trainer class changes:

  • Delicia: Portal Eater -> Devourer from Dreamland
  • Pandora: Portal Empress -> Shining Supermodel
  • Barker: Portal Hustler -> Entrepreneur
  • Felicia: Portal Magician -> Magician
  • Quinn: Portal Diver -> Scuba Diver

March 18 edit (was unsure if it was better to make a new post or edit):

-fixed issue where battle replays couldn't be interacted with from the front

-updated Charmander event: Charmander will now join the player if the player has either Charizardite Y or Charizardite G in inventory

Legendary Pokemon as starter options is something I've been going back and forth on in my mind for several months. Spork is all about giving players a lot of options. I've never taken into consideration the stats, abilities, and competitive tier of Pokemon when deciding where to place them before. The main factor has always been which Pokemon would fit in which environment. Because of that, there's never been a reason they needed to be unavailable as starter options from a balancing standpoint.

From an in-universe perspective though, it's a lot harder to explain how the player would have one. There's also that some legendary Pokemon are only one in existence while others have multiple members, and outside of ones that've been officially confirmed, not everyone may agree on which ones are which. In the end, I decided to add them as starter options because there could be people whose favorite Pokemon is a legendary who'd like the opportunity to have one from the beginning, or people who want to do some kind of themed run that a certain legendary would be suited for. For explanations for how the player can have a legendary, it can be considered non-canon and existing for player convenience, like the Shiny Scouting area. Or you could enjoy coming up with your player's backstory on how they met!

For the Dialga quest change: I've been thinking of changing the Dialga quest since early 2020, but I never had the confidence I could pull off any of the new ideas I had for it. Dialga had always had my least favorite legendary quest in Spork. It consisted of the player going through an area and hearing about things they already knew. It wasn't my first idea for the quest, but like with later ideas, I didn't have the confidence I could pull off the original ones, so the Dialga quest ended up stuck as something that I could event but didn't enjoy making or playing through.

The idea of being able to redo battles with major characters exactly as their teams were when you first did the battles came to me at the end of January. It was originally going to be Mov the Venonat who would allow the player to do this, but then I realized since the idea of replaying battles could tie into time, it could be the opportunity to remake the Dialga quest. Thanks to Steffi for the flow chart shown in the top left of the screenshot at the beginning of the post! It shows the flow of time for the Pokemon games' releases, starting with Red & Green and going all the way to Scarlet & Violet.

This is also mentioned in the legendaryquests notepad file, but you don't need to actually replay any of the battles to obtain Dialga, you just need to unlock all of them, which involves completing the post-Champion story and doing all of the optional battles with Rania, Drew, Kelani, and ICSW.

On the subject of time, the reason for the gap between this reupload and the last one is because of Reborn E19 alpha testing followed immediately by playing through PLA. There were a few updates and other ideas I wanted to look into for this reupload that were moved to the future because I was worried about seeming inactive if there was no reupload or news for a while, and in order to recover energy as I'm currently experiencing a crash after a month and a half long period of high energy and productivity. But I had fun with this reupload and I'm looking forward to the future!

The EXP All starts as turned on, but can be toggled off and on in your inventory.

Move animation lag: in battles, when a Pokemon used a move, it would previously take a few seconds longer for the animation to show and the move to be used than Reborn and other fangames that use Reborn's custom animations. I was PM'd about this in April by the user Nicocchi who was able to fix it after investigating some of the script sections!

The reason that this is a smaller reupload of mainly QOL updates despite the amount of time between last reupload and this one is because I jumped the pun with adding PLA Pokemon. Something that had come up in the PM convo about move animation lag was the Reborn mod Plates of Arceus, which I looked at the thread for and saw it had PLA Pokemon added. I was excited to be able to add them, so I shifted around reupload plans to adding PLA Pokemon, but I didn't realize until after I'd already added the data for them that not all shiny sprites and backsprites have been completed yet by the projects that the Plates of Arceus mod uses. Additionally, I searched online and didn't find any overworld sprites for any of the PLA Pokemon yet.

By the time I realized I didn't have all the resources needed to make them available yet, I had already added all of the data for the PLA Pokemon, the evolution items for Kleavor and Ursaluna, PLA character simulation teams to Planet Spork, and evolution method info to the evomethodsandotherchanges notepad file. This was too much to just delete, because I would have to readd everything in a future reupload if I did that, so I just made a lot of it hidden. After this, I didn't want to widen the gap between reuploads too much by starting on something major or time-consuming when I had already spent a lot of time on this. I was also eager to get a few of these QOL updates out there. Thank you for your patience!

Reuploaded DDDL and Spork

DDDL:

-There are now nature changer and Ability Capsule NPCs (Ability Capsules are given by the NPC that gives healing items)

-Olidroll Sweets Shop now has Whipped Dream; the item they're out of has been changed to Cotton Candy

Spork Updates:

-added the following items: EXP Candies, Reborn ice cream flavors, Cotton Candy from Reborn, and a new item called Mini Pie

  • EXP Candies are given as rewards for the Temple of Time battle replays
  • Reborn ice cream flavor vendor locations: an NPC in Ashley's Dance Studio who looks like a Pokemart clerk, a Vanillite near the vending machines in the Olidroll Department Store, and ICSW's Vanilluxe in Crystal Castle
  • Cotton Candy is sold in the Olidroll Sweets Shop
  • Mini Pie is sold on the battle items floor of the Olidroll Department Store. On the same floor, you can get a free sample from Carol

-Lemon's Pikachu is now Pikachu Belle

-Peach's Solgaleo changed to Victini (nickname Frye)

-Galarian Legendary Birds now have their own party screen icons (previously were using Galarian Slowpoke as a placeholder)

Spork Bug Fixes:

-Orbeetle now learns Psychic at level 36 and After You at level 40 instead of level 36 (previously, Psychic was missing from Orbeetle's level up learnset, and After You was learned at the level Psychic was supposed to be learned)

-Volcarona now has the canon shiny sprite instead of the Reborn one

-Hatterene now has the correct battle cry

I realized that there's not a version of the X items for evasion, and Mini Pie is like if there were an X Evasion. The free sample from Carol can be obtained at any point in the game after the Department Store is open. Carol's dialogue will have a few different lines depending on whether you've already met her in the main story, and if the first time you meet Carol is getting the free Mini Pie sample, she'll acknowledge that when you first meet her in the main story at Ocean Coast.

The Reborn ice cream flavors were added because of an expansion to the Sea Star Society Food Section that Enigma made for the map revamps. There will be a few more vendors in the revamped version of the map: one that sells the Reborn ice cream flavors, one that sells Rare Candies, and one that sells the vending machine drinks. I also decided to add Cotton Candy to the game while I was at it because I think it fits Spork's atmosphere, and could be sold along with the EXP Candies by the Rare Candy vendor. (to be clear: I didn't add any map revamps in this reupload, this is for the future when the Sea Star Society maps are ready to be added) EXP Candies were actually planned to be added as rewards for the Temple of Time battle replays in the same reupload that was done, but I was unsuccessful in scripting them at the time. However, I was successful for this reupload!

Since Splatoon 3 was released recently, I started looking at Peach's team to see if any new characters would fit as nicknames for his team. This is also what led to replacing Solgaleo on his team with Victini. The reasons he had Solgaleo were that Peach has a lot of energy like the sun, and Natalie has Lunala so it would be an opportunity for both to be on characters' teams. But when thinking about Victini, both are small and full of energy, and the energy connection with Victini is more direct than with Solgaleo on top of Victini and Peach both being small.

A lot of food items were added this reupload! 🍨 🥧830253903660187659.webp?size=128&quality=lossless

Reuploaded Spork

Updates:

-custom shiny Durant made by Steffi

-Cosplay Pikachu forms are now available for the player by speaking to a Pikachu in the Contest Hall (specifically in the area where the contests are going on)

-EXP All now looks like how it did in Gen 1 (item icon made by Steffi)

-when fishing, if you hook a Pokemon, it'll be landed automatically. This means that you don't have to worry about getting the exact button timing with the "Oh! A bite!" sequence

-The X items ingredient mixing NPC at the Vitamin Factory can now make X Evasion 2, X Evasion 3, and X Evasion 6 variations from Mini Pies

Bug Fixes:

-Cufant now has the correct battle cry

The colors of shiny Durant are based on Flick from Animal Crossing! Flick is a bug enthusiast who hosts Bug-Off events and buys insects for higher prices than can normally be sold for. He also can make figures of insects. I think Flick would really like the shiny Durant!862736454229032980.webp?size=128&quality=lossless

This is a shorter reupload. For the last part of the year, I'll probably be very busy between Sonic Frontiers, Pokemon Violet, and testing for ep 6 of Desolation, so I wanted to do a reupload around this time in case I wouldn't be able to later in November or December. However, before I end the post, I'd also like to show you a preview of the revamped Raila Jungle that Enigma recently completed:

PtCFa6W.png

I was very amazed at how much Raila Jungle had been expanded! The revamped jungle has several different areas that include a bridge over a waterfall shown in the image above, an arena for Stryker, Xurkitree getting its own area for its event, and a puzzle that involves finding Pikachu and feeding them pancakes to evolve them into Alolan Raichu.

To avoid any confusion: no new map revamps have been added for this reupload, this is a preview of the future. All of the additions, changes, and bug fixes for reuploads are noted in the notes at the beginning of reupload announcement posts.

I hope you all have a good rest of 2022!

Reuploaded DDDL and Spork

DDDL:

-Changed hail weather to match snow weather in Gen 9, and the move Hail has been changed to Snowscape

Spork Updates:

-added a Paldea quiz to the region quizzes in the Trainer School

-Changed hail weather to match snow weather in Gen 9, and the move Hail has been changed to Snowscape

-added moves Trailblaze, Pounce, Chilling Water, Twin Beam, Aqua Cutter, Comeuppance, Behemoth Blade, Behemoth Bash, Bleakwind Storm, Headlong Rush, Mystical Power, Power Shift, Psyshield Bash, Raging Fury, Sandsear Storm, Shelter, Wave Crash, Wildbolt Storm, Ice Spinner, Steel Roller, and Eerie Spell

-added abilities Sharpness and Steam Engine

-added TMs for Trailblaze, Pounce, Chilling Water, and Ice Spinner

-added Power Shift to Gellene Town move tutor

-added Steel Roller to Inoset Island Pokemon Center move tutor

-updated Regirock rap

-added item Protective Pads (sold in the Battle Mall, and is also a Battle Frontier prize)

-added dialogue after Draga gym battle indicating where to go next

-added a move tutor to Wonky Woods for the moves that existed in previous gens and became TMs in Gen 9: Take Down, Mud Slap, Acid Spray, Psybeam, Confuse Ray, Disarming Voice, Poison Tail, and Metal Claw

-it no longer needs to be daytime to evolve Happiny into Chansey, only the Oval Stone is required now (I never knew that it needed to be daytime for Happiny to evolve)

-the Name Rater is now a Feraligatr called the Name Gator

-name of notepad file gen7and8movesandabilities changed to gen7+movesandabilities so that each gen doesn't make the name longer

Spork Bug Fixes:

-fixed a land tile being on a bridge in Forest of Feeling

-can no longer walk through a wall tile above the sink and cupboards in Twilight Tavern

-Steelix now gets Gyro Ball at level 20 like Onix does

-Gallade and Froslass's gender ratio changed to 50/50 to match the rest of their line since all Kirlia and Snorunt can evolve into them

-fixed typo where Jirachi said "becuase" instead of "because" when meeting it at Mt. Comet

-when Aurora Hail is used, it now says that Aurora Hail raised the team's defenses instead of Aurora Veil

This reupload starts setting the stage for when Gen 9 Pokemon can be added in the future. In addition to the Gen 9 moves and abilities I was able to add along with PLA moves that SV changed to match the usual battle system, I felt inspired to try a few from Gen 8 that I either wasn't confident I could script before, or tried in the past and didn't succeed.

For the Name Rater (now Gator), my original plan was to change renaming to be like PLA and SV where you can rename them any time from the party menu, but I was unsuccessful in scripting that. Every time I tried, I either got an error when loading up the game or when going into the Rename option. I thought of the Name Gator pun while I was trying to do that. In the future I'd definitely like to try again for renaming and relearning moves to be as accessible as they've become in the official games. I would still like to keep the Name Gator if that happens though!

For the Regirock rap: I updated Cherry's rap at the Rap Battle House in 2021, and recently wanted to see what I could do here too.

6andcit.png

The Paldea quiz is the region quiz I enjoyed making the most! Paldea has a lot of history and a colorful cast of characters. I had close to a dozen questions I thought of and had to narrow them down to 5. I also made sure to avoid any questions that would be spoilers.

Happy New Year! I'm excited for Spork in 2023 and I hope it'll be a great year! 🎆

Reuploaded Spork

Updates:

-Enigma revamped maps added: Sea of Knowledge, Ocean Coast, Staryu Cove (formerly Staryu Valley), Serenity Seaside, most of Sea Star Society (all of the sections before Celium Park), Hemola Swamp, Water Treatment Plant (🆕), Raila Jungle, Astral Observatory, Lunar Lake (🆕), Molten Mountain, Happy Hot Springs, Mt. Comet, Petilil Prairie, Giggly Grove (formerly Giggly Grasslands), Cosmic Castle

-custom shiny Munchlax and Snorlax (including gigantamega) shinies made by Steffi

-battle backgrounds for new Sea Star Society Shopping, Food, Help, Community, and Battle sections made by Steffi

-new Yellow Sea battle background made by Steffi

-Musical Corsola now holds an Air Balloon in the Team Chaotix battle

-Tomas's birthplace changed from Virbank City, Unova to Levincia, Paldea

-expanded Brutus's dialogue at the Sea Star battle tournament

Bug Fixes:

-the water at the southeast part of Inoset Island no longer has map transfers that takes the player to black space within the dream starter selection

-thetmandtutorlocationlist notepad file has been updated to call TM07 Snowscape instead of Hail

-when first speaking to Mulder for his Earth Plate quest at Hemola Swamp, he now refers to the player by their name instead of always calling them Sierran

-the player's head no longer overlaps with the bottom of palm trees at Inoset Island

The next batch of map revamps have arrived! Please make sure to not be in any of the older versions of the mentioned maps before updating. The map revamps now go up to the 14th gym, meaning that this covers three new badges of revamped content. The preview I showed of Raila Jungle two reupload posts ago applies to a lot of the new maps in this batch: areas that were previously many events packed onto a single small map have been expanded, and there are a lot of background details that enhance the atmosphere and environment of the maps. As with the previous batch of revamps, there are a couple new maps here too.

For Celium Park and the areas beyond in the Sea Star Society: although revamped maps were made for them, they were lost due to file corruption. Enigma plans to remake those maps again in the future.

The Totoro-based shiny Munchlax and Snorlax were an idea Steffi came up with! The Munchlax is based on the small white Mini Totoro, while Snorlax (and the gigantamega) are based on the main Totoro. Snorlax and Totoro definitely have a lot of similarities, and I think all the shiny sprites for the line turned out very cute!

Some of the major changes and additions that come with this batch of map revamps:

  • Both parts of the Sea of Knowledge have a handful of questions that you answer in order to proceed.
  • Ocean Coast has a new map structure. It's north of the first part of Sea of Knowledge, and the second part is to the east. Staryu Cove (new name for Staryu Valley) and Serenity Seaside are to the west of Ocean Coast, and Hemola Swamp is through a gatehouse in Staryu Cove.
  • The locked house in Serenity Seaside becomes the player and Emily's house in the postgame
  • Like previous revamped dive areas, the Ocean Coast/Sea Star Society underwater diving spot is now a proper map of its own instead of being a small nondescript transition map between the two areas.
  • The Heart Scale vendor in the Sea Star Society was replaced with an area called Heart's Cradle, where you can fish for Luvdisc which hold Heart Scales.
  • As mentioned in a previous reupload post, the Food Section has a few new vendors: one that sells candy (Rare Candies, EXP Candies, and Cotton Candy), one that sells the vending machine drinks, and one that sells the Reborn ice cream flavors
  • I added Heart Scales as additional rewards for the Help Section sidequests and the tournament. Also of note, there's a monitor in the tournament that was originally intended to be used for the Help Section quests, however Enigma later decided to keep the NPC quest interaction the same. Although the monitor currently doesn't do anything, I kept it in case I have an idea for a Gen 9 Pokemon event related to it.
  • There's now an official building and arena for the tournament at the Battle Section. Two new battles have also been added with Kelani and a new character, Alexander. Like Kelani, Alexander is a character from Enigma's fangame Pokemon Conspiracy. He wouldn't be a familiar face to those who played Conspiracy because he was from future/unreleased content, but he's Zhyion's Dark-type Gym Leader, Kelani's boyfriend, and makes trance and DnB music!
  • The Sea Star School has been expanded into the Sea Star University, and the Learning Section also now has the Sea Star Library. For the quiz to get the Sea Star Diploma, I changed it to where you get the diploma for speaking to the teacher after answering all the questions on both parts of the Sea of Knowledge
  • Tomas's Gym is now the Water Treatment Plant, which is located in Hemola Swamp. The Water Treatment Plant has a puzzle where there are four monitors with four number options each. You have to select the options from each that add up to a total of 💯 in order to purify the water. I added a hint system with the Grimer that swim around the plant, but I'm unsure whether the hint system is too little, too much, or just right, and I expect to adjust it in the future based on feedback.
  • Crimson Path has been removed. Belinda and Belladonna's house will be in a completely new town in a future batch of map revamps (you still meet them during the story in the jungle). The wild Pokemon that were previously in Crimson Path can now be found in the first part of Raila Jungle.
  • In Raila Jungle, you need to feed pancakes called Claire Cakes to five Pikachu throughout the jungle, which evolves them into Alolan Raichu, in order to power the bell to Umira. The Claire Cakes will be given to you as you progress through the story there.
  • Raila Shrine has been removed, and Tapu Koko's event has been changed. In the postgame, the Pikachu you evolved into Alolan Raichu will be back, and Tapu Koko will appear after you've battled all of them.
  • Lunar Lake is a new area to the east of Astral Observatory. This is where Cresselia and the Sun and Moon Shrines are.
  • Molten Mountain now has several floors, and Happy Hot Springs is near the top.
  • In order to proceed to Giggly Grove (new name for Giggly Grasslands) from Petilil Prairie, you have one of two options given by a Lilligant named Delilah: a Sudoku-based flower puzzle or paying 40 Miracle Seeds. Only one is required, but you can do both if you want to (when Gen 9 is added in the future, you'll need to do both for Wo-Chien's quest).
  • Cosmic Castle now lives up to the castle part of its name.

Thanks a lot to Enigma for continually making major improvements to Spork's maps, to Steffi and Palletite for Spork's colorful and friendly sprites, and everyone else who's helped and supported Spork throughout the years! 🎉

Very important bug-fixing reupload:

-fixed not being able to enter Celium Park due to Emily, Delicia, and Crolea not having the conversation where they go there and continuing to stand in front of the door after you've done everything in the outer sections

-the vendors behind boxes at the Sea Star Society Food Section can now be interacted with

-the sign at the Sea of Knowledge in front of the Slowbronite now disappears after correctly answering the question

-the player's head no longer overlaps with pillars at the Sea Star Society Learning Section

-the Sea Star Society maps now have the correct fountain autotile

-Molten Mountain autotiles no longer missing

-can no longer surf through the railings at the Water Treatment Plant and the Giggly Grove bridge

-invisible Vanilluxe at Sea Star Society Food Section is now visible

Additionally, the music that plays in the tournament building and arena for the Sea Star Society Battle Section is now the Wyndon Tournament Lobby music from SWSH.

Reupload #3 for map revamp batch #3, which also comes with 3 notes!

-Xurkitree intro event activation changed from parallel process to autorun

-lightning readded to Raila Jungle

-updated some outdated info in the House of Gratitude. Specifically:

  • Enigma's monument said the revamps currently go up to Liliech City, when they now go up to Giggly Grove
  • Vince's monument mentioned Forest Guardian when his current project is Virtualization; both are now mentioned
  • Ame's monument said that I'd been part of the Reborn community for 5 years, when it's now been 8 years. I changed it to "several years" so that it would always be accurate
