I don't know you keep doing this Bfroger. But damn it, you're doing it well... with a guy as annoying as Klaren, there's no way in hell I should have any reason to care whether he starts bawling or not...but...

you got some serious skill boy. I'll give ya that much.

Awwwwww, thanks~ It means a lot. Really. And I do try. Always.

like, it's totally not my actual edginess translating into my characters

Besides, Klaren does all the work. If it weren't for him there also wouldn't be me writing him~

TFW you're just hamfisting lore so hard right from the handbook right now...

EDIT: Hey, wait...

Pyon, you never gave either me or Bfroger a legit explanation on why we can't exorcise the undead and shit....and the whole thing with the crystal doesn't really count, cause from how that scene was set up, it seemed like we were only going to get even more questions than answers if we had actually examined it... seeing as how not even the ultra-critting, badass designated historian in the group knew what the hell it was.

Congratulations Ecquis! You have officially signed up for the healing magic torture methods test study. The conductor of the test, Mayanna, will be conducting her second round of testing. Have fun, and remember to leave all of your comments in the box of cares...oh wait

The magic in the crystal was Light Magic, therefore the undead creatures were made from Light Magic, and could not be driven out by Light Magic. Honestly, I can't help but feel like Dark Magic is needed to exorcise them. Seems to make sense in my weird logic.

Also, I know you exorcise demons and spirits, but do you really exorcise undead? Can't help but feel there's a different term for it.

I think it depends on your working definition of undead. If they're reanimated corpses made by plonking spirits/souls into flesh vessels, then you could probably exorcise them.

Maybe next time you'll actually allow me to try stuff with the crystal and we'll friggin' see, lol, not just be like, "quick, shoot it with an arrow that somehow should manage to break it for some reason!"

Oh yeah, that's right.... don't know how that slipped my mind, given I friggin commented about that at length IC when it happened and she was saying 'fuck examination, burn it all to the ground'

Your lightning would've done nothing most likely... except make it angry somehow and cause the whole mob to rise up and nibble on our giblets

Yep without spoiling the actual mystery this is pretty much it.

I'd also like to just say that while exorcisms are common in our world and in many other settings, in this one it isn't the most common thing. In fact it's barely done at all as spirits never come out of their realms. There are few instances of actually "haunted" places and most necromancers fail dramatically. But if this was "traditional" necromancy light magic would be effective in some way against the spirits. This isn't traditional in any way. And I can say that the event your characters witnessed is the first of it's kind in all of the history of this world.

"But little did they know, it would not the last..." The cliched voice over called promptly from wherever he hid.

Well guess that puts that to bed then...but no seriously, I doubt this is just gonna fade into the past... there will probably be some serious consequences from this whole crystal/Ignexeus thing further down the line, just watch ya'll

Apologies I just vanished. I was writing a response on friday and my mobile data ran out. Our ISP should FINALLY get things working tomorrow so I'll have wifi, but it's already a week late so god knows what problems might hold it uo again. Apologies for any inconvenience or if I've held anything up, I'll read up what I've missed and reply in a little bit. With any luck this will all be sorted tomorrow so I'll be able to post properly and regularly again

Can you say, "Scouting ahead?"

"Dash here, the next map is going to have some tasty treasure... A lot of locks to fiddle with. There are some people riding pegasus and enemy mages."

Vote away!

EDIT: If it wasn't clear, only three NPCs. That will be a staple until the end of the game.
