SgtNoobly
Doesn't anyone find it annoying how you are the only one really challenging the Pokemon league for their respective game and no one else does, expect for your gen 1 rival gary oak( as far as I know). And how you never truly become the Pokemon champion! What do you guys think about an idea where the game adds a pokemon leauge tournament, which you can only compete in if you have 8 badges and the winner gets in the hall of fame, but also has the chance to battle the elite four and the champion, and if he/she succeeds they become the champion! btw Is this something you can imagine happening in reborn? Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted August 2, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted August 2, 2016 Blue isn't the only rival to have challenged the league. Wally, Barry, Bianca (although she changed her route), Cheren, N, Hugh, and Calem/Serena also did. Silver never explicitly mentioned challenging gyms, but since he got to the Indigo Plateau I assume he did.
SgtNoobly
Ya oops sorry I was speaking out of the blue, I fixed it my bad xD I meant though the elite four and not the gyms alone but ya thanks for pointing my mistake out Edited August 2, 2016 by SgtNoobly
InnocentSerenity
I always just imagined a bunch of other Trainers were challenging the Leagues. But why would you care about them? They're not fighting random evil organizations, taming Legendary creatures. and running into really convenient coincidences that get you items necessary to progress through the Regions cough HMs cough. Narckarth
I could see this getting implemented as a post game challenge. It would probably work similar to the Battle Subway/Battle Maison/ Battle Tower/ World tournament etc... But if it was to be put in as a main story point that you have to go through before the elite 4 that would be awesome. They could liter the game with a few one off trainers who are a bit more memorable than your average fishers and hikers who you could meet again and verse in the tournament. DerogatoryTrainer
Because you usually stomp them into the ground before getting to the league. Usually at the end of Victory Road. So they'll only challenge the league after they've beaten you, the rival.

Ya I get that but what if they were almost as strong as you or maybe as strong as you so you cant just power through them Edited August 3, 2016 by SgtNoobly
Monochrome_Complex
N did challenge the E4, but what's more interesting is that he did so without challenging the gyms. Not only did he challenge the E4 and win, but he handed the champ his butt on a silver platter as well. N probably still wouldn't be considered champion due to technically never taking the league challenge, but at that point he had accomplished the task of beating the Leafue's strongest, which was the pC/cheren were trying to do as well. I assume by league you mean the E4/champ.

Jmanultrax1
I didn't se any indication that he did. I just assumed that he thought he had the authority to challenge the gym being the chosen trainer for the legendary depending on the game. Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted August 5, 2016 Global Mods Share Posted August 5, 2016 But you're not allowed to challenge the E4 if you don't have any badges.
YinYang9705
in Nacrene City, we see N come out of the gym, so from that you could assume N just beat Leonra
Monochrome_Complex
Isn't that before Plasma jacks the skull? I figure he was scoping the museum for Plasma's later robbery.
