"Look, I really don't care about whatever junk they're hoarding, Ecquis." the priestess answered bluntly as she walked over a few paces to meet the rider. She didn't even bother to raise her staff, merely snapped her fingers with a curtness matched in degree only by the exasperation in her eyes as she took stock of the ones still coming after them. And like that, a brief wave of light came over the man and wyvern, far weaker than her normal stuff, given there was far less to mend.  

         "If you want it, go ahead and get it already, or stay here and help set up some type of way for us to break through... whatever you do, Just try not to get yourself killed; Those pathetic excuses for Mages and those horse-riding apostates deluding themselves as apostles don't scare me, their magic will wither faster than their career prospects the moment they even try to touch me... you though, if you go down to a stray thunderbolt, so do the chances of any of the rest us getting out. The only thing that matters here is that we find a way to get to Meredith again, and end this mess..."

 

Move to G16, Heal Ecquis

Thunder leaps from Terrin's tome, wrapping around his arm and shooting out at the soldier dealing significant damage.

Hoshiko indeed deals out holy wrath. Unexplainably her arrow begins to shine. The light blinds the pegasus rider. When she regains vision, the pegasus rider is on the ground. An arrow in her gut, and her pegasus is flying off to safety.

Pegasus 8 moves to X11

 

Pegasus 11 moves to AD10

 

Soldier 8 moves to AD11

 

Soldier 9 moves to AD12

 

Soldier 7 moves to A18 and attacks Klaren

The soldier runs closer, his spear lunging forward in a move that pierces Klaren. However with lance still stuck in his leg, Klaren counter attack sending soldier flying into the afterlife.

 

Troubadour 3 moves to H16 and casts sleep on Ecquis

With his allies slain but his confidence high knowing many more soldiers come behind her, the Troubadour rides forward and with a twirl of her staff sends a spell that puts both Ecquis and his wyvern to sleep.

As Dash works to undo the lock, the girl on the other side doesn't cease her pleas for help. When the door is unlocked she immediately runs out. Her hair is a mess, cut badly and dirty. It looks like the prefect lice nest, her clothes are in a similar dirty status. She looks like the picture of your common thief; But even Dash is a thousand times more groomed than her. "Ah, fresh air at last! Thank ya pipsqueak. Didn' think a street rat like ya could unlock a door like tha'."

"Pipsqueak?" Dash balls his hands into fists angered by the girl's mannerisms. "I might have been a street rat, but I'm quite proud of my achievements. No one can pick locks quite like I can!"

The girl was searching around the building, looking for something. "Oh wha's tha'? Sorry I don' speak street rat." She responds mockingly irritating Dash evne further. Finally she finds what she is searching for with a loud "Ahah". Near the knight's body there was a small bag that held a knife and a tome. "Ahrmed an' ready again. Now le's see if I can' rob a few folks blind." A devilish grin appears on her face.

 

 

Saffron moves to X8 and takes Serene

"Let me tend to her I will take care of her. Please hold the line." Saffron says, helping Serene onto her Pegasus and dropping her off nearby.  "Use any first aid you have here, we'll protect you from further harm.

 

Saffron drops Serene at Y7

 

Anna moves to X10 and attacks Pegasus Rider 8

Anna's blow misses instead hitting a tree and nearly taking it down on the spot. The rider manages to land a hit but misses her second attack

"Ooooh, we actually ended up getting to beat him after all, Teri~" Klaren turned to Terrin and smiled before shuffling away into the forest waving at Maya and the rest of the gang. "What're you doing, let's go open the door, Q~! Q? Can you hear me? It's Klaren~ Are you sleeping? I think a battlefield isn't such a good place to have a power nap at, wouldn't you agree~?"

Serene grit her teeth in shame at having caused such a commotion just for one bloody injury. She joked with Saffron as they flew, attempting to disguise her embarrassment.

 

"Hey, hey. I thought you were the princess here, Saffron!"

 

She tried very hard to think up a fire pun that she could work in, to keep in character, but fell short. She settled for quietly resting atop the pegasus. All of these little considerations were far too insignificant, anyway. They had a battle to fight. Better to rest up and prepare for the next bit.

With Serene in a reasonably safe position, Rosalvya decided it was time to move up to the front lines. With enemy reinforcements in the distance, they couldn't take their time any longer. For the moment, it seemed like the former captive would fight with them. She couldn't complain, as there was certainly strength to be had in numbers. Moving up beside Anna, Rosalvya stood by, waiting for a good opportunity.

 

Move to X9, equip Iron Blade and hold

"Hey Klaren, what are you yelling at Ecquis for?" Terrin asked curiously as he ducked under cover of the trees, beside the monk. As tern glanced over his shoulder, he noticed another monk, but not one of their own. He reached to his tome, but then shrugged. "It's a monk, I'll barely be able to scratch him and just waste a use of my tome..." He decided, before whispering in the enemy monk's direction. "Great job hiding among the trees, nobody can see you, keep it up."

 

Move to D18 and hold.

ZL7mt8W.pngThe archer looked about worriedly, her brave facade faltering for a moment. It was getting entirely too crowded around here with both allies and enemies, and she was just one girl with a bow; but still, surely the favor of the goddess would remain with her and defend her from the blows of her enemy. She took a deep breath before loosing her next shot.

 

F16, DELIVER THE GODDESS'S WRATH WROUGHT IN WOOD AND FEATHER TO THE ONE WHO DARES USE THE SPIRITS OF NATURE FOR EVIL (aka shoot the mage with a longbow)

Rosalvya glanced in the distance, more enemy reinforcements appearing on the horizon. It was clear that the western party was beginning to become overwhelmed in numbers. With no other objectives for her group at the moment, she decided that it might be prudent to join the others to take down the enemy commander. At the very least, they could prevent the eastern reinforcements from flanking them at the same time. They couldn't keep up the offense forever, as Anna, Serene, and herself were already wearing thin from fighting already. Vulneraries could only keep them afloat for so long.

 

"Saffron, when you find the chance, please take Anna with you and go ahead to join the others. It looks like they could start using the help. We'll catch up with you later," said Rosalvya. She then directed her attention over to Dash and the girl, and smirked. "Dash, I'm glad you're getting along well with your new friend, but we're going to be leaving. There's nothing left for us here."

 

All the while, Rosalvya kept an eye on the pegasus rider in front of Anna, watching for any sudden movements. She wouldn't allow herself to be surprised by the opponent, even while talking.

 

"Also... Meredith, Serene, the two of you have been awful quiet all of a sudden. Is something the matter?"

"What? No. Nothing at all. It's a battle. Talking isn't that common, got to focus." Meredith looked a bit flustered though. She went about two shades more red at the address. It might've been hard to tell though due to how red her hair was. Meredith took a deep breath pushing all of it down. She was pretty good at suppressing emotion at this point. Especially on the field of battle.

"Speaking of which... YOU!!!" she shouted pointing her spear at the Pegasus Knight. "You're mine~" Deflecting having to have a conversation by fighting. Well, least it was something pretty important to be doing.

 

Move to Y11, and attack Pegasus Knight 8 with Iron Lance.

“Hoshiko, mind delivering a bit more justice? Terrin, help her out while you can.” Luka raised his hand up, calling the attention of the two allies. Maybe a bit more quiet this time? I like my thinking time! “We need to keep Ecquis safe for now while the eastern team gets here.” Taking a deep breath, Luka began to dance for the Archer and the Mage.

Perhaps spurred by wanting to forget the embarrassment she was feeling for whatever reason, Meredith put her all into her next blow. She struck out with her lance and it met it's target. A sickening crack sounded, clearly bones breaking, indicating that the blow had struck true. The Spear had lodged itself up and through the Pegasus Rider's ribcage, pushing aside the bone in an effort to find it's way out the other side. Meredith went to yank her spear back, but, the rider came with it, colliding into the dirt, now naught but a puppet without strings. The pegasus reared back in protest as it's rider was ripped from it's saddle, fear in it's eyes. The beast knew it's master was gone and as a result in fled.

 

Meredith turned back to her group. "Hopefully that gives ya some time to patch yourselves up. It's important we're in as good of shape as we can be." She gave them a thumbs up, smiling with just a small tilt of her head. It might've been considered cute... if she wasn't covered in blood.

ZL7mt8W.png Hoshiko replied to the dance with a pose, before running forward. "You, servant of evil, whose foul machinations put my comrades to sleep! FEEL THE WRATH OF A TRUE SERVANT OF THE GODDESS! HIIIIYAH!" She punctuated her bold proclaimation with an arrow headed straight at the mounted healer.

Hoshiko locks into a heated ranged battle with the mounted archer. In the space of a few seconds Hoshiko looses two arrows and the Troubadour looses one. The Troubadour's arrow scratches Hoshiko's side leaving a slight wound. When she looks up her two arrows struck their mark and the mount was running away, carrying a newly made cadaver as it's rider.

Terrin shook his head, frustrated. He had hoped just walking past the monk and not wasting any of his tome's power on it would faze them, but it had no such effect. In fact, the monk hiding merely a few trees away from him had entirely ignored him to this point. In his attempt to freak out his opponent, all the mage had accomplished was fazing himself.

 

"Damned Monk, fine. Didn't your parents ever tell you to stay away from big trees in a thunderstorm?" Terrin asked, trying his hardest to sound dramatic as he jumped behind another tree, did a bit of a haphazard roll, and then posed heroically as he flung open his tome to attack- Perhaps he had been spending too much time speaking to Hoshiko.

 

Move to D19, attack Monk 1.

"Aaaaaaaaaand he's sleeping. Of course he is. Of course..." Taking a deep breath, she stepped away from the comatose rider and mount. Nothing to do for them, not under that damned curse from the Troubador. The irony it had been the exact same curse she herself had tried and failed earlier wasn't either.

"I'm not surprised anymore. No point in me even getting angry over it. really, not like I can take it out on them. Just ends up sitting and festering until it becomes so utterly black and twisted I can barely even recognize what it was originally for. Not like that's gonna get us out of here alive."

Terrin and the monk exchange blows; however as the blast of light approaches Terrin lightning crackles softening the blow. The monk clearly takes more damage.

Two soldiers move in to attack Dash. He falls over clutching his stomach in pain where the spears opened bleeding wounds. 

 

Soldier 9 moves to Z11 and attacks RudeGirl

Dodging out of the way, a mysterious light begins to surround the girl. With one slash she cuts through the soldier's armor leaving a strange dark residue behind. She then rolls under in between the soldier's legs and ends up on the other side with a purse in her hands. "Ya' dropped sumtin' you bucket." She grinned from ear to ear. 

 

Monk 2 moves to H16 and attacks Ecquis

A monk behind enemy lines a bit confused that he hasn't been noticed yet searches for a target. Bringing light magic up he shoots a blast at Ecquis that brings him back to his senses.

Putting her hand to her ear the girl makes a frowning face. "A lot mo' buckets joinin' this party. I ain't gonna stick around to see it." She places the purse somewhere under her cloak and jumps over Dash's crouching body and runs off into the forrest. 

 

RudeGirl moves to AD10 and escapes the map!

"I trust you will take care of everything here. We'll support everyone. Stay safe!" Saffron reaches her hand out to Anna who takes it and gets on the pegasus. The pegasus grumbles loudly at the added weight but makes no move to throw them off. Soon, they are faraway with the pegasus' great speeds. 

 

Saffron moves to X9 and rescues Anna

 

Saffron retreats to S10

Klaren chirped to life as Maya healed him (albeit somewhat unwillingly) and went on ahead, glad that everything was slowly falling into place.

 

...except the fact they wouldn't get to see what was behind that door...

Meredith engages one of the soldiers keeping it occupied, while Serene with a running start jumps and sends two flaming swords flying over the soldier's head. They hit the soldier next to him, killing him quickly.

Terrin looked at the monk, who would likely have been better off throwing the tome at him than casting, given he was in more or less perfect condition now, and smirked as he began to open his own tome to launch another spell - That is, untill he noticed the rather ominous wall of soldiers approaching from the west. And the fact most of his allies appeared to be doing the smart thing and heading in the opposite direction.

 

"Weeeellll, I could keep giving that monk what for... Or I could go say hi to my friend Klaren!" Terrin assured himself he wasn't running away, and just being a good friend, as he too headed eastwards.

 

"How you holding up?" He asked Klaren once he was near, although Terrin seemed worse for ware himself, panting a fair bit as his not-retreat had been perhaps a tad too swift.
