Reborn Mods

I redownloaded it and it worked, it seems my first download corrupted the file.

Question: will this work with e16 update or does the mod overwrite story stuff and such ?

When E16 comes out every mod will be in one menu. None of the mods affects the story.

Since you're apparently hesitant to discuss online functionality, allow me since the anti-cheat system for online is my brainchild and was already explained to it's great extent from when it was first envisioned.

If your save file is flagged as a file that has illegaly obtained a pokémon, and what constitutes an "illegal" pokémon is dependant on several factors, then you're locked out of online battling permanently within that save file. That's about it.

Pretty sure the save flagging's purpose is pretty much to demote cheating. I wouldn't have been so keen or accepting of what this could entail if I haven't seen what the average person obtaining mons through unofficial means do. This does mean that anyone who adds or uses the flag system mod wise will also not be able to have those save use the online features. I'm sure I misread something, but I'm not really looking into the flagging system. I probably should, but I'm not.

Forgive me if I missed it somewhere, but I am clueless on how these mods actually take effect in the game once you add them to the Data folder. I have a pretty severe lack of knowledge on this cause this isn't something I do often. :)

You just replace the script file in the data folder. That way the game will be able to run the scripts I made. :)

So, uh mods like the hm move mod, which donnot affect online fair play in any way I can imagine, will hopefully not flag the save file? I think I kinda tried that mod on my main run..

For now none of the mods trigger the flag. As for the matter which will... Well I will just add a "cheat mod" tag in the post so everyone knows which mods do trigger the flag and also add a safe question inb4 activating them. (ex. "Are you sure you want to turn on this mod? It will flag your save file.")

I have three mod idea's that could potentially be useful

PC on the go: Allows PC access whilst not at pokecenters (Allows to swicth team members before hard fights without needing to go back to a pokecenter)

Move breeding mod: Allows pokes to breed moves from one two another without it being an egg move, like breeding scald from Panpour or ice beam from seel to milotic, this was possible in episode 12, but hasn't been since

Ev boosting mod(s): Increase EV gain while mod is on to greatly decrease EV training time, (saves lots of time in the long run like the IV mod)

PC Mod is a no. Mainly because it would be too much of a cheat. (Mainly cause of the healing factor)

Move breeding is a maybe. Basically I have to think about it properly. I am sure that it will flag your save file.

Ev boost is a yes BUT it will flag your save file.

Anyways all in all the second and third mod will be added to my to-do list and will be coded and released in E16.

Why would EV boosting do that, it's just a time saver, i don't mean just stand in a pokecenter hit a few buttons then get EVs i mean multiply the rate at which you obtain EVs, like woobat gives 1 speed, times that by 4-6-8 or whatever to speed up training :P

correct me if am wrong, but healing in pc isn't in reborn, the pokemon's health stays the same unlike canon games

everything is about perspective. You can say that the IV mod i suggested is also a time-saver since you can eventually obtain 30-31 IV pokemons if you breed for like a week, or soft-reset like a maniac.

and in the online world, obtaining something much faster than your potential opponents, can be considered an unfair advantage

This is correct: Pokemon are not healed when sent to the PC. This is to prevent the issue Kisuo mentioned (healing via PC).

Even if it did heal, there's like a healthy spot 2 minutes away so this would mostly just save a little bit of time and be convenient.

As for the EVs, instead of increasing EVS maybe you could go the opposite and set them back to zero totally or choose a certain stat. EV training doesn't take that long other than that.

Ok. I will make the PC mod.
That said, no more suggestion will be considered at the moment.
Just because I have a limited amount of time to work on these mods :)
Anyways, thank you all for your suggestions. The mod menu will be out in E16.

Edit:

Just a quick update. I just got info that there is no need for my mods to automatically flag save files.

I started E16 with the mod, is there a chance it might mess up the game ?

(it seems to change the dialog box format)

  Yes, also

Quick Update:
I will be getting back to my mods not this week, but next week on friday due to my college project.
Please be patient. As promised I will turn the existing mods into a mod menu.
This will take some time, because I decided that I will turn every mod (that is more complicated) into a seperate script that will be launched somewhere in the original scripts. Why? So that I can modify, fix and add stuff to them more easily (and also to the mod menu).

So your mods will not work for reborn hardcore, correct?

- No modding of other mods (I don't and will not do any mods for other Pokemon Reborn mods)

I'll keep this short and blunt due to the threads rules: unless either of us look at the other's coding/game files, I can't exactly say for sure as a variable and/or switch may be used causing interference making either unplayable (though non-CoM Hardcore will work fine with it). If they did not, then it would be plausible to use some features from this mod before swapping over to Hardcore, but it's not recommended. This is a little bit of manipulation stuff as this mod was not designed or intended to be used with Hardcore.

I probably could answer or better answer your question (and others you may have) better in a non-public place (cough PMs cough). I have a pretty good idea how to answer.

Modding aside, I just  wanna know where in the scripts can you change a pokemon's ability?

This is a bit off-topic. Anyways I suggest you check the pokemon essentials documentation for that. It will help you learn and you won't forget it easily if you do it that way.
Hope I helped :)
