Zyxeos
Hi, I am posting here because I want to ask fellow developers how they go about incorporating their own Midi Sequences into their Fan Games. I have mixed a couple background music pieces using audacity but found no way to convert my music files to the ones needed in order for the music to work properly in RPGMAKER XP. Skullkin
Use Realplayer to convert it.
Veterans Zumi Posted August 21, 2016 Veterans Share Posted August 21, 2016 Either try finding if a song you want already has a MIDI for it, or make it yourself. MP3 to MIDI usually does NOT work correctly, so save yourself the effort of converting your MP3s.
Administrators Amethyst Posted August 21, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 21, 2016 To elaborate, the problem with doing that is that MP3 is a file format that holds sound, whereas midi is a file format that holds data that can be read as sound. It's like, trying to convert something you see in a picture, into a real life 3d format. It's fundamentally not going to work. That said RMXP is capable of handling mp3 or midi files, so if you're making your own music then either format will be totally fine. There's no need to convert. I found that worked after making this thread! However, there were a couple MP3 songs that I tried importing and it oddly would turn the song in my BME folder into a 0 KBs file!
