KuroCovers
So, I'm sure we've all had a moment or two where we've been sitting around in our rooms with nothing to do, bored out of our minds. We all have something we prefer to do during these times. In my case, I turn to music. Ever since I was little, I've loved singing (not always to my family's pleasure. I sing a bit too much.), and I turn to it when I'm bored. Now that I'm older and have a source of income, I've been working towards starting a cover channel on YouTube; I'm saving up to buy a mic for recording vocals. But, there's one thing I need - songs to cover. That's where I'd like the assistance of you wonderful guys and gals. If you have any songs you'd like to hear me cover, please leave them down below. I'll take almost all suggestions into consideration, but there's a few things I won't do. First off, I'm a guy in high school. I can't hit really high soprano notes with the power needed to make them shine. Please, try to limit suggestions to songs with male vocals. Songs with male/female duets are ok; I've got some female friends who wouldn't mind singing with me. English, Spanish, and Japanese songs are preferred, but I don't really mind other languages. Lastly, please no death metal, screamo, or anything of the sort. If it's... what's the word? Harder? If it's harder than... Linkin Park, please don't suggest it. I terribly apologize if anything I said came off as rude or impertinent, or if this is the wrong place to post this; I can assure you, it was not my intention to offend anybody or break the forum rules. I'll gladly change anything that needs to be changed. And with that, I pass the baton to the forum! I look forward to seeing what you guys suggest! Shad_
Lastly, please no death metal, screamo, or anything of the sort. I cried Anyway, i'll write down some songs i'd love to hear a cover of: - Faded, Alan Walker (ok it's a female voice but an acoustic, male version would be pretty cool plus i love that song tho i hate the genre) - If it means a lot to you, A Day To Remember (male/female duet) - Little lion man, Mumford and Sons - R.I.P. Bon, The Amity Affliction (I KNOW, I KNOW it's exactly a genre you asked us to avoid, acoustic should be fine tho) - Sunrise, Our Last Night (acoustic version) Hope you'll choose something from my list and gl! Praise the sun! I didn't expect a response this quickly. I took the time to listen to these songs, and here are my thoughts:Faded - I'd actually heard this song before, but I didn't realize it until you pointed out the name. A male acoustic version would be pretty cool, actually. It's a yes from me. If it means a lot - Cool song. I might be able to cover this in concert, actually. If I do, I'll see what I can do about recording the live footage. It'll be a long while, though; at least the beginning of next year. Little Lion Man - Heard this one, too. It's not as huge a fan of this one, but that doesn't mean I won't cover it. I'll give this one some thought. R.I.P Bon - I know there's screaming, but the singing itself is pretty good. I mean, it's kinda like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas a little bit. If I can find someone who can scream, I'd sing it, no problem. Even acoustic would be cool, but I figure it would detract from the song somewhat. Sunrise - This one hit a little too close to home. It really resonated with me on an emotional level, as it reminds me a bit of my past. Definite yes on this one. Thank you so much for the suggestions! Let's keep them coming! Maelstrom
Some random suggestions: Wonderwall Por Ti Volare Fotografia- Juanes and Nelly Furtado Time After Time- Mai Kuraki. I'm curious how a male cover would come out. Towa ni tomo ni- this one is do-able solo but would probably be better as a duet. Probably the one I'd be most interest in hearing a cover for. good luck finding the original to listen to w/o buying it on itunes. Chrono Trigger the Musical- Brental Floss

Chrono Trigger the Musical- Brental Floss Thanks for the suggestions! Ok...Por Ti Volaré - This was actually quite pleasant to listen to. I'm not sure if I can produce as beautiful a sound as the person singing it manages to do, but I will challenge myself with this song. I'd love to do it. Fotografía - This would definitely be cool as a duet! I may perform this one in concert, as well. If so, same deal as the above post - I'll see what I can do about the live recording of that. Time After Time - I didn't really connect with this song as much as the others. I may do it, but I'd much rather do one of these other songs. A male acoustic version might not be bad, though... Towa ni tomo ni - Another great pick. I have a friend, who also happens to be named Kuro (complete coincidence; and yes, he is a different person), that I will have to talk into performing this song. Wonderwall - The one by Oasis, right? This sounds the most like "me", or at least what I sound like according to the people who've heard me sing. It's a cool song; I'd love to perform it. Chrono Trigger the Musical - This was extremely funny. If I am ever bored one day, I might do this. Excuse me while I go play this on repeat until I'm in tears. Good stuff! You, my friend, have excellent taste in music. I like these songs! Edited September 23, 2016 by KuroCovers
Sonikku
Some songs that I think sound really great and that I'm sure you could do well: Trees - twenty one pilots Me Voy Enamorado - Chino y Nacho The Glory - Kanye West and the one and only, Shiki No Uta. I don't want to post videos of it, because they might get blown away on youtube, so no link. It might sound weird with a guy singing it, but weird can sound great. Trees - This sounds like something I'd sing. It's a yes from me. Me Voy Enamorando - I might have to do this one just because the guys who sing it are Venezuelan, like me. Cool song, but I'd need to find someone else to do it with. The Glory - Maybe. Rap has never been my most loved genre, but it may be time to step out of my comfort zone a bit. Shiki no Uta - I don't even believe I can do this song justice. I can give it a shot, but I'm not quite sure where I'd go with it. We'll see. If I do end up doing it, the result may be very interesting. I'll look at any further responses tomorrow. Thanks so much! I've found 10+ new songs to listen to and perform in one day! Bluewolf
Some random suggestions: Wonderwall Por Ti Volare THIS IS MY FAVORITE FUCKING SONG. Like seriously Andrea Bocelli is amazing. I want to sing this at my recital for senior as a surprise for my dad and I'm so excited. On the subject of cover songs, you don't have to sing them like the original artist would. And by that I just mean make it entirely your own if you need to. I've made the mistake of trying to sing No One like Alicia Keys instead of interpreting it like I would've. But you've probably have already been told stuff like that a bunch so you'll be fine, just my little quip of advice from singer to singer I also like your range of genres, It's nice to know that my reach of preferences isn't all THAT out of the ordinary. I appreciate the advice! I've always had trouble putting my own spin on things, as the perfectionist inside of me always tells me "that's not good enough", and that original artist sang it best. It's just a habit I need to break for myself, and I'll have to work on it as I practice the songs you guys suggested. It's a wonderful bit of advice. Thank you! Also, don't worry about the genres. I used to be very closed off, listening only to a few kinds of music. As I grew up, I realized that the wider the range of music I could perform, the better I would end up in the future. I suppose it's just a part of growing up. I'm glad to see other singers with diverse preferences! Thank you for the kind words! Even the smallest things keep me going forward, so this means a lot! Oh, and this one too. I believe this falls just within my range, so I'll definitely consider it.
Arkhi
Let's crack open Pandora's box :3c (I'll try to post the YouTube links for videos that have the lyrics) Olivver the Kid - 4 AM: It's pretty straightforward and sounds great. Absolutely swell song. Only problem is it'll be rough to find the lyrics online; otherwise, you'll be transcribing the lyrics by ear. Oh Wonder - Midnight Moon: Literally anything from Oh Wonder will work- I just happen to like this one a lot. The Eden Project - xo: EDEN (previously The Eden Project) is absolutely incredible. The only down side is you'll feel more than a twinge of sadness in a lot of his songs. That said, his vocal range is within the range of lots of people about 80% of the time. Pierce Fulton - No More (ft. EDEN): Pierce Fulton is like EDEN, but a little less popular and less experimental. His work is by no means sub-par, so I encourage you to check out other songs from him (Pantheon and Borrowed Lives, for example). One eskimO - Chosen One: Pretty song, huh? Too bad I can't find the lyrics anywhere- I wish you luck on that front if you cover this one. Lemaitre - Cut to Black: It's a fun, groovy little piece. I think it'd be fun to play. I can tell you it is to play on the flute. Check out the acoustic cover if you want another perspective. nano - Magenta: Here's a pretty sweet rock tune- it'll be rough to sing, but this is something worth aspiring towards. Yoe Mase - Thrive: Lots of this guy's material sounds great. I think this one is manageable for a practiced vocalist. If you're wanting more, search under the name Joey's Dead- he changed his pen name. I can't find the vocals upon first search, but they might be out there somewhere. I've got several other suggestions if you're curious, but I don't want to overwhelm. Hope some of these are enjoyable!

Sorry for the late response! I didn't believe it at first when I saw that you posted on my thread, but I am honored that you took the time to suggest so many songs, Arkhi! Let's do this.4 AM - Really cool song. I don't mind transcribing lyrics; I've had to do it for some Japanese songs before, and that was... Interesting, to say the least. Anyways, this one is a yes. Midnight Moon - I could probably hit both parts on this song, but I'll try both solo and duet to see which works best. Another yes. XO - I can see what you mean by "twinge of sadness". His vocal range sits comfortably within mine, and the song itself evokes quite a bit of emotion. I can see quite a few people relating to it. Yet another yes. No More - While I do like this song, I can't say I like it as much as some of your other suggestions. I'm not quite sure what it is about the song, but I just wasn't immediately hooked like your other suggestions. I will still consider it, though. Chosen One - This song was beautiful. It's the same deal as Midnight Moon in regards to vocals. I'd be down to cover this. Cut to Black - I loved the vibe this song presented. I'd love to cover this, as well. Magenta - I never thought I'd find another nano fan on here! Yes, her notes are a bit high, but I can still attempt to work toward it. I was planning on covering Sable, Exist, Born to Be, and Now or Never at some point, so I can add this to the mix, as well. Thrive - I'd either have to do acoustic with this, or find an instrumental, because I'm not the best at recreating this type of music. However, this song gives me a feel-good vibe, and I would love to cover it. Don't worry about bombarding me with suggestions. I'm going to create a list of all the songs I plan to cover, and I will get to all of the songs eventually. I should hopefully still be doing this in college, so I'll have about five years to get to all the songs people want. So, there's no need for modesty! Thank you very much for your suggestions! the team valor national anthem Oh, man. My father and little brother are both obsessed with this song. If I eventually do this one, I'll have to do it when they aren't home, or else I'll never get it done! This suggestion made my day.
