just to clarify (its been a long time) but how do i get here again??

It's part of the story. After beating Amber (the fire gym leader), the player and Venam follow Melia through Mount Valor and a large set of doors, since I don't know if you've actually played through this part I won't spoil what's there.

Okay then I'll just put it in a spoiler.

Spoiler

Behind the doors you follow Melia to the past, where you get some clearance of where she's been all this time and what she's been doing. That room is where Melia lived when she wasn't out doing missions, and that's her diary we're reading. (I never actually knew this diary existed so I'm gonna have to go and give that a read)

So I'm pretty sure the next leader is flying type? Have we seen a field effect that really helps flying types?

(Before you bring up mountain field, Talon is one of GDC's Gym leaders, so chances are, there are no mountains in that city. We also fought Amber on a mountain and I doubt Jan would have us fight there again. Then there's also that stupid Eli and Sharon fight...,)

Thinking on it, I've only seen one field effect that directly helps flying types, and that was in Desolation (f that fight btw, complete booty)

Well dang. But I hope you're right. Because right now her team can REALLY be capitalized on.  But if they have specific roles, it makes sense. I'll check out their dex entries later to see what they could possibly do.

Talon better have an Aerodactyl after getting turned to stone.

But in all seriousness, I think a good flying team would be: Skarmory, Aerodactyl, Gliscor, Staraptor, Rotom-F, Archeops/Talonflame

He could also have Oricorio. And He could have Dragonite and Salamence (Those Sweet, Sweet Pseudolegendaries that we have been denied for so long).

Togekiss is also a mon worth considering. Jan will probably want to annoy players by giving talon a Serene Grace Togekiss with Air Slash, Thunder Wave, Nasty Plot, and Roost.

We could also have Gyarados, but this is unlikely, considering that Gyarados doesn't really come to mind when you think of a Flying type pokemon.

Xatu could also be used.

Talon also has an assortment of mega's to choose from. Mega Pinsir, Mega Charizard Y (Or X, but Mega Charizard X is no Flying Type), Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Rayquaza (If Jan is feeling like trolling us), Mega Salamence (Oh, Please, God No).

Crobat is also Extremely Fast. He could be used in Conjunction with Noivern and Aerodactyl to create an especially Speedy Core. Hawlucha would work well with this core with Normal Gem + Acrobatics + Unburden.

I also expect that the Field might have some sort of Answer to Stealth Rock. Any player with knowledge about Flying type pokemon would probably try to start this fight by setting up Stealth Rocks.

1. Electric Oricorio could work on the team giving an electric neutral. Even though Gliscor gives an immunity. But Oricorio doesn't really have anything to do in return to the electric pokemon it would switch in on. It would rely on hidden powers for the most part, and a 60 base power move, combined with it's mediocre special attack isn't much. Salamence and Dragonite are always an option lol.

2. Togekiss can die.

3. Gyarados with Z-bounce is DEFINITELY possible.

4. Xatu is useful for magic bouncing hazards, although I think the field will be something like: "The winds blew the stealth rocks to the other side of the field/away!"

5.Hawlucha has been used already but it's definitely possible to destroy the ice and fighting weakness. Along with Crobat, Noivern, and Aerodactyl for shenanigans like tailwind, toxic, etc. Special Crobat is always an option.

I completely forgot about Gyarados and Z-bounce. But yes, that is an option for Talon.

Magic bounce Xatu would most likely be a lead. But if the field was like "The winds blew the stealth rocks to the other side of the field/away!", wouldn't the role of the magic Bouncer be mitigated somewhat? It could still reflect status moves, but given that Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web are almost completely useless in this situation, that really hurts Magic Bounce Xatu's Viability on this team.

How would you feel if He ended up having Mega Salamence?
