Sinkaio
After 10 hours of gameplay, I've met my wall. Entity Shade(I've spent 4 days grinding and trying again but he DESTROYS me). It seems that I don't have any Pokemon able to outspeed his really fast Pokemon—Gengar, Rotom, Bannette and Chandelure(?). But really, it's the Rotom and Gengar that keeps KO-ing my team. I can't get a good start without Gengar hitting my Mightyena first and completely destroying my chances of even reaching Rotom. However, when I did manage to get around his Pokemon, Rotom just obliterated me and I can't do anything about his health because LEFTOVERS. Here's my current team: Mightyena(The lead) Quiet Nature Moxie Ability -Assurance -Crunch(Many common candies were used to bring down his level after obtaining this move) -Bite -Roar Growlithe(Hopeful follow up but since I can't evolve him to Arcanine without the fire stone, he's going to get out-sped.) Naughty Nature Flash Fire Ability -Crunch -Retaliate -Flamethrower -Flame burst Greninja Hasty Nature Protean ability -Water Pulse -Feint Attack -Shadow Sneak -Round Luxray Hasty Nature Guts ability -Thunder Fang -Roar -Spark -Bite Zebstrika(Field Changer) Lax Nature Lightning Rod Ability -Flame Charge -Stomp -Discharge -Thunder Wave Other Pokemon to take note of that are in rotation: Nidoking Impish Nature Sheer Force Ability -Horn Attack -Double Kick -Thrash -Toxic Spikes (Was thinking of using him for a set-up) Ampharos Bold Nature Static Ability -Thunder Wave -Thunder Punch -Power Gem -Confuse Ray Onix(Um I'm not sure if he's even suitable for this gym, so I haven't levelled him up yet) Timid Nature Weak Armour Ability Buizel(Maybe, as of how he's Lvl 25) Gentle Nature Swift Swim Ability -Pursuit -Swift -Aqua Jet -Furry Cutter
Mr. Penglog
Hi, i don't fully remember my entire battle with shade but what I did with his speedy mon gengar was paralyze it using my ampharos with static ability and thunder wave and then using confuse ray so it cant move. i remember using electric terrain to somehow limit his mon's ghost type moves. And for his other mons, i used my female meowstic with shadow ball which out-sped his chandelure and rotom. I don't remember how i defeated his banette but i remember using ampharos to paralyze and confuse it. Hope this helps Edited October 25, 2016 by Mr. Penglog
Shinoda Yagami
Well it just so happens that I literally beat this gym like ten minutes ago and my starter was also greninja What I did was lead ampharos and charge beam gengar to death since it can eat a shadow claw. Then for banette I used mightyena, for trevenant and doublade, pyroar would OHKO them. Then rotom, the biggest problem for me, I managed to hit that with a confuse ray from ampharos and I basically haxed it with power gem For Chandelure I switched to diggersby and used oder sleuth, he took me out with two energy balls. then I switch to pyroar and basically headbutt it to death since I walled him. Bear in mind the charge beam in turn one turns it to factory field so pyroar could live hits. You dont have pyroar so do it this way: Lead zebstrika, get off a discharge and it should be able to live a shadow claw. Then use mightyena to KO banette and DONT SWITCH to use moxie to kill doublade and trevenant. I hope that it can live, and after that give it a potion to face rotom and the double moxie should OHKO rotom with crunch. For chandelure Water Pulse + Aqua Jet should take it out. Mightyena is your big game player here so make sure it lasts until rotom because rotom is a pain in the behind X_X Edited October 25, 2016 by Shinoda Yagami
Aurorain
If you're having problems with Shade, a Normal type on your team would go a long way. Especially one that knows Crunch or Sucker Punch, like Raticate(don't underestimate this guy early on since he can get both way before you reach Shade) or Stoutland. Diggersby would completely body Rotom, though Bunnelby's a fairly rare encounter before later on, so it's up to luck on that one. Jmanultrax1
I had a slaking on my team. despite it having truant it killed some things in two hits or even a one it. My lead at the time was a cofagrigus which it ate gengars attacks or rarely shade would switch out. But only when my cofagrigus was out for some reason. I had an eelektrik to deal with the field and switch it along with the rotom. dewgong was their for banette or others, noibat was somewhat useful, but not really. And my chesnaught stalled with leech seed and spiky shield. My main tactic was to get one of his pokemon to land a physical attack on my cofagrigus. so when he switched out his gengar it would either be rotom or trevenant. When the trevenant killed my cofagrigus I sent out my slaking to hit it with and gain mummy. Without a constraint slaking just destroyed his team. slakoth can be found in the park where you fought the pulse tangrowth. You need a pokemon with headbutt. They are very rare as the pokemon that mostly show up are pineco Edited October 25, 2016 by Jmanultrax1
