wallaby_wizard
Hey there Shuckle enthusiasts, I bet this will be the first time you see someone actively using Shuckle in Reborn. Hold your horses: It does not have a nickname, since nicknames don't make me experience any extra joy on top of regular butterflies in my belly put there by this entertaining game. It is level seventy-five, and it has been with me since it helped me beat Kiki way back on that volcanic island. I hear you ask, how the flippity flock did this frivolous little Rock-type help someone beat a criminally tough Fighting-type gym leader? I KNOW, it isn't weak to fighting, but still. Before I answer that, I take you back to the period in which I was lucky enough to meet my pathetically slow buddy. I just arrived on the island, by a boat I borrowed from some broad on the mainland, whose name I already forgot. There are too many edgy teen females in the game to keep track. I felt dissatisfied with my team, since it struggled greatly to beat the last few gym leaders. The team, featuring Skuntank, Liepard, Blaziken, Hariyama, Scraggy and Elgyem, didn't match up very well against the upcoming Fighting-type leader either, so I was in for quite the grind. I didn't know this for sure, but the dojo kind of gave it away. I made sure Scraggy and Elgyem evolved and my whole team was level forty-four, as the level cap was a mere level higher. Elgyem seemed like a promising front runner. I exchanged some old doll for him at some totem pole in some forest, as some of you may have done. I thought he was exclusively available there and since event Pokémon are typically strong, I figured it would powerhouse through that bunch of Fighting-types. Both assumptions proved to be false, as I got pummeled by Kiki and I found wild Beheeyem later in the game. It was simply too slow, Lucario and Gallade had no trouble whatsoever slaughtering the poor thing. And the rest of my team for that matter. After five tries and too much Common Candy for my liking, I started thinking. Finding and grinding another Psychic-type was too much work for me, so I sought out which Pokémon were readily available on the island. When I saw Shuckle, I saw Sticky Web. This is the answer to the aforementioned question all of you presumably had in mind. Besides the awesome support move, I was very much attracted to the originality of using Shuckle in this game, as I hadn't seen him in any signatures. It was all I needed, and I set out to grind the living hell out of Shuckle, which involved a tedious amount of switching because Shuckle couldn't harm a fly if the fly were raping Shuckle's entire family before his very eyes. Let alone this bloody Lucario. Eventually, Shuckle reached the ripe old level of forty-four. Shuckle was primed for battle, with loads of EV's in that decent Defense stat. The battle was straightforward. With Sticky Web up, Beheeyem ripped its pure Fighting-type opponents to shreds, while Blaziken had Lucario's number. Gourgeist could now take care of that pesky Gallade. Yes, I had a Gourgeist as well. I obliterated Kiki, with five Pokémon to spare. Shuckle saved my ass from the time loop me and my shitty team were trapped in, and secured himself a first team spot for the rest of his worm-turtle days. Never again did it take more than two tries to beat a leader. Never again was there need to grind. Thanks to Shucks, my whole team was merely level sixty-four or less at the end of episode fifteen. But not all is happy in the Reborn region, since a new problem arises, with which you should feel free to help me: Encore, Rest, Guard Split, Power Split, Power Trick, Safeguard, Gastro Acid, Stone Edge, Shell Smash... what moves should I put on this glorious bastard? By the way, I'm male, from the Netherlands, and I play tennis. Have a good one!
