Well, hopefully there's something here that's worth my time. Cade approached the counter, taking note of the wooden prosthetic. Not many places she'd seen their like before, but she wasn't about to go prying into how the shopkeep had gotten it. She cleared her throat before asking "Excuse me sir, I was wondering what you might have in stock right now.

"Spears huh? Let me check," Anna rummages through some of the crates before finding something. "Lucky you. I happen to have a Short Spear on hand. Considerably lighter than the one you've got there. Want it?" Anna asks with a smile.

"Hmm? Sure, give me one sec...aiee," the man yells as he falls behind the counter. "Er...what exactly are you doing here, and what do you want from me," the man asks in a panicked tone.

"Huh? What are you screa..." She stopped when she actually saw the man's face "Dear goddess, it's you... the mercenary who was working for Gonzap...I..." She didn't know what to say, honestly. She had never expected she'd cross paths with the man again, especially considering the storm. Why, not that long ago she'd thought him surely dead or worse.

5CEKNqZ.png

"...nothing." she finally said, "Calm down, I'm not here to finish you off or anything; hell, I didn't know you were even still alive, let alone that you were running this shop. How... did you survive that shipwreck and the storm though? Surely you couldn't have floated the entire way here from so far..."

Rayne stared a the weapons for quite awhile looking it up and down with her eyes. She seemingly spaced out to those around her. Th weapon had a lot more balance to it. She could tell it'd still be a little heavy for her but it's build was much more balanced then the workmanship on the Steel Javelin in her hand. It's shorter length would also be a boon for handling it while atop a Pegasus. Still she stared at it long enough that it was probably just on the verge of getting uncomfortable.

"That'll be perfect.~ I'll take it." she said placing holding the vespers up for the merchant to take. "I'll take it in a moment. First I need to drop off this... uh thing. I won't need it anymore."

She wondered off a bit to the side before whistling to summon the Convoy man from before. She waited happily whistling the little tune to herself.

"You called?" the convoy man responds, appearing out of the blue before taking a quick look around. "Oh, Anna, good to see you."

AnnaP2.png

"Not entirely sure I can say the same, though it certainly seems like you aren't around for your normal collection jobs," Anna frowns, eyeing the convoy man.

Von_Coy.png

"Not at the moment no. I'm attending to other matters at the moment, one of which involving the guard. That's all." he finishes before looking back at Rayne. "So what did you need?"

--------------------------

Mercenary_1.png

"Heavens no. I probably would have died if I drifted out that long. Probably due to the injuries on my arm. At any rate, I ended up floating to Pasir. The people there were rather pleasant, and some of the healers took me in to help me recover. Unfortunately my arm was in rather bad shape so..." Biden lifts up his wooden arm. "Anyways, after that, I ended up getting involved with some people, which led to me coming here and opening this shop. Now I make an honest living here selling swords," he finishes.

Seeing Voy Con here, now was a perfect time for dropping of the scimitar.  "Sorry for interrupting," Belros spoke up trying to get the attention of Voy Con. He held out his scimitar for him.  "I have a blade I wish to store, mind taking it?" He pondered for a moment before also taking his knives out as well.  "Also, I'd like to store these knives. I have something else I want to get in town."

Darius realized that, with his new purchase, he is now overburdened with items. As if on queue, though, the mysterious person that he gave the staff to appeared. Deciding against questioning it, he walked over to him.

"Hey, I remember you...you are the one to give our items if we're overburdened, right? In that case, mind taking this Hustle tome? I have no need for it." he spoke out, presenting the still-fresh tome.

Deposit Hustle into the convoy.

Once that was done, the shaman decided to wander off in search of a store that might have more dark magic tomes. His Flux tome was starting to look a little worn...

"I need ya to take this off my hands! I won't be needing it anymore as I've gotten a spear more suited to my needs." she said holding the steel javelin forward. She pressed the haft into his hand quite firmly.

"Oh, and here. For your service~" Rayne handed him another bag of 200 vespers. She was always taught to give what people are due. Running the convoy was probably quite the thankless job. Basically he was keeping an entire companies inventory for them. It was an essiteinal thing but one Rayne knew couldn't be all sunshine and roses. Her mother always told her to give the people that did these jobs the utmost respect. In general it was this respect the Marigolds were highly known for. That they respected every single courier, runner, accountant etc that worked with them. It didn't only extend to the members of their guild, but all the people that made it possible for them to function. Voy Con was one such person. He made it possible for their company to continue running smoothly.

TL;DR, Dump Steel Javelin in convoy, buy short spear. ((and tip the man an extra 200 gold. 1700 spent.))

"OH, uh... well, I see. Yeh, sorry about the arm, I... didn't really mean for it to be... permanent, ya know...If that random storm hadn't rolled in and destroyed everything like it did, you probably could've gotten it treated... a lot faster... uh..." By the goddess this was awkward. She took a breath, using her centering technique

J1HZpp0.png

"Um...anyways. At least you've remembered our deal, that's good. Not many people would, so I'm glad I ran into you here instead of say... working for yet another mad man out on some battlefield. So..."

gS8A5U7.png

"I hope there's no hard feelings. I was just wondering what you might have to sell- if... you're still in the mood to do business with me, that is."

"Since you're here, let me drop off this tome and key," Helena says, giving the convoy man her wind tome and chest key that she acquired. "Now then, do you have any anima tomes on hand?" she asks Anna.

AnnaP2.png

"Hope you like siege tomes, cause that's what I've got in right now," Anna responds in an upbeat voice, showing Helena the three tomes. "Take your pick!"

Jasmine.png

"Hrm, as much as I want to experiment with the Bolting tome, for now I'll simply make due with the Meteor tome. It's a bit more reliable and is still rather strong," Helena decides, handing Anna the money before running off to follow Darius. Now that she had started dabbling in thunder magic, she figured she could get a slight upgrade as well.

After some walking, the pair found a rather large block of the town with stalls chocked full of tomes. All manner of tomes could be found in the group of 6 stalls, and the area itself was somewhat crowded. The pair could overhear various discussions on magic and some traders trying to sell of some tomes.

"Well, seems like you're mainly here for shopping, so I don't mind selling to you. And well, you did decide not to kill me back then. Losing an arm doesn't seem as bad when you consider the alternatives. So, what sort of swords are you looking for?"

After handing off the weapons to Voy Con, Belros left to look find a store more accustom to to what he's looking for. More specifically one selling knifes, poisons, and lockpicks. He left without saying a word as to not draw attention to himself, whether it be from his comrades or anyone nearby. Don't want anyone following him around.

"well, what swords do you have? Wait..." she turned away from the man for a moment, the chattering of the anima holding her attention

5CEKNqZ.png

What the hell are you wandroughts on about now? What? What the hell is a wind sword? ...wait... my goddess... is that right... well...

gS8A5U7.png

"Ummm... on second thought, this is probably a stretch but... you wouldn't happen to have any... enchanted swords, would you?" The memory of the poison knife that she still to this day knew she had seen in the pawn shop flashed by. She continued on with "It's uh, fine if you don't. I'd be fine just looking at whatever you have if you don't have any, poisoned knives especially."

"Enchanted swords eh? There are a few lying about. You see, when I was over at Pasir, I ended up getting involved with a group that specializes in magical weapons. Some chats happened here and there, and I ended up becoming good friends with some of the members. That's how I got this shop. But yes, for enchanted swords, one moment," Biden says, going to the back of the shop. After a bit of rustling, he comes back with a medium sized sword that gave off a green aura. "Sadly, it's not a true wind sword. Only a prototype that some of the guys ended up coming up with. Still though, it's fashioned like a wind sword, so it has some similar properties, even if it's a bit weaker," he explains. "Given various history, I'll sell it to you for 1400 vespers. And also, if you ever happen to run into one of the members of the Four Swords Guild, you can show them this. You might be able to get yourself an actual wind sword from them. Sound good?"

LFMtHb9.png

"It's definitely a deal!" she said, rather enthusiastically as she pulled out that proper vespers and handed them to the man. It actually took a sizable bit of self-control to avoid screaming like a fan girl, but she managed it "Its... perfect, exactly what I need. Thank you. About this four swords guild though- do they mainly stick to Pasir, or could I find them on other islands too?"

"That's a-" Cass exclaimed as the woman pulled the lyric out. He recignized it right away. It was one of those really quality ones. Ninis' Grace. Songs of dragons that used it in their dances have been passed through centuries. And he wanted it.

"How much?" He quickly asks, wasting no time to reach for his pouch and get the needed money.

Darius was surprised to see the magic part of the market being so crowded, not just with merchants selling tomes, but people examining them and discussing their merits. The shaman made sure to keep his ears out as he made his way towards the merchant selling Dread Magic tomes. Once there, he perused the selection and made his inquiry.

"Hm. I would like to purchase a fresh Flux and a Carrion tome. Would you be willing to take these as part of the payment for those two tomes?" Darius spoke, presenting his Worm and Flux tomes for examination. All the while, he continued to try and listen into the various conversations to pick up on any potential rumors or other useful bits of information.

"The guild itself is situated in Pasir, but some of the guild members go all over the place looking for new swords. Seeing as how you're part of the guard, I'd reckon you'd find them pretty easy. Just mention me and they'll be able to tell you about some neat swords they may have or know about. Anything else you need?"

-----------------------------------------------

AnnaP2.png

"1500 vespers, just like everything else. One time only deals here. And Percival worried about us going over-budget, this totally worked out," Anna muttered the last part, but still maintained a smile.

------------------------------------

"Hmm, 510 vespers is what I'll give you for your tomes. For the tomes you requested, your total would be 690 vespers. Good enough for you?" the man asks. Most of the background chatter is about various magical theories or some discussion on wind ships or some such. One pair of individuals, each appearing to be some sort of scholar, mentions something interesting.

"That woman, isn't she the firstborn of the Vulcan family? I've heard she went out on field studies to finish her thesis, but didn't they say she was lost at sea?"

Helena, incidentally, was too busy trying to decide what tomes she wanted to get to notice the conversation.

Belros takes a look at his wares, there was really only one thing that caught his eye. Not that that is a bad thing, just as long as he's able to find something of value it's worth it.  "I'll give you 800 for the poison knife, deal?" The hooded spy asked the shop owner obviously placing more then 800 on the table. 1000 to be exact.  "Also, what's the word on the street? Anything... interesting or more particular, about the Silver Raven?"

"Yeah, it is good enough." Darius spoke and, in exchange for the new Flux and Carrion tomes, traded in his old Flux and Worm tomes, alongside the 690 vespers requested.

Sell Flux and Worm tomes, purchase Flux and Carrion tomes for the reduced price of 690 vespers.

After that was done, Darius moved to the side and watched and listened the conversations go while waiting for Helena to make her purchases. He did overhear something about a woman who was lost at sea while trying to finish her thesis. He decided to keep it in mind and watched the two scholars, looking if they might actually be referring to her, while keeping an ear out.

“Wow!” Karik walked off the boat in wonder, staring up into the sky at the dragons flying high. “Aye haven’t seen any manakete traders in so long.” A spring in his step to see the sights, Karik followed the rest of the group. As he saw Clarisse attempt to talk with the woman, the heavy throwing axe caught his attention.

“I’ll take that Fransesca. Franchesca?” Karik shrugged his shoulders before pulling out his vespers “However ya say it.”

"Hmmmm... weeell..." She pondered it over for a few moments. A Specialty shop like this would probably have weappons specially designed for killing horsemen, peg riders, the peg riders and the like- just unsaddle them with a thrust to the right place and let the weapon do the rest. Though... horses, Pegs, and Wyverns... there was one common theme among all their riders: a nasty penchant for poking people on the ground with lances. Hmmm... she doubted she'd do terribly much to a Wyvern even with a special arm... pegs would probably go down fairly easily, horses a bit less so but still possible. But then again, she did have this little gem Biden had sold her, and in all honesty it could make short work of at one of these three on it's own... given well... Pegesi and strong wind never mix well.

LFMtHb9.png

"Nah, I think that's about it for now, oh wait..." taking the gale blade and attaching it to her belt, he drew the iron knife from it's place and put it on the counter. The blade was surprisingly clean and polished, despite all the blood it'd tasted since entering the girl's possession. Had to do at least some basic maintenance to keep it from wearing down any quicker than necessary, afterall...

"I've got a feeling that this old thing has outlived it's usefulness to me- I've been trying to find a poison knife to replace it. You sell any here, or know where I might find one? Could use this as a trade in..." she, of course, neglected any mention of the phantom knife from the pawnshop- even if she might be going crazy and clearly seeing things that she knew were there yet vanished seconds later, he didn't need to know that.

"1500! I'll need to trick Idei five more times to make up for that...but fine." Cass pulls enough Vespers from his pouch to satisfy the woman before taking the lyric for himself. He rolled it up nice and tidy and placed it away safely.

Somewhat less satisfied with the price he had to pay, Cass moved away from the merchant, but not before throwing another glance at the Manakete. He then remembered he was actually looking for instruments and ran back up to her. "Are there any shops that do sell instruments around here..?" He asked.

The shady shopkeeper looks at Belros for a bit, before taking the money and giving him the knife he requested. "Can't say I've heard too much, though I did hear that some thieves moved north to other islands. That any useful?" the man replies.

------------------------------

Jasmine.png

"Alright, I've got a new tome. Now then, anything you care to do here next? If not, there's a place I want to visit here," Helena remarks.

-------------------------------

AnnaP2.png

"Thank you for your business. And don't worry, I also think it's a weird name to give to an axe," Anna responds before thinking about Cass' question. "Music shops huh? See that isn't my personal specialty. Percival!" Anna calls out to the man, who is just coming back from moving stuff back to their shop.

Annahusbando.png

"You called? Any trouble?"

AnnaP2.png

"No, this man here just wants to know where a few music shops are," Anna replies.

Annahusbando.png

"Oh is that all? Well if you head towards the center of the square, you'll find a music hall. It also doubles as a school, but you should be able to find some nice instruments there. Does that help?"

-------------------------------

Mercenary_1.png

"Poison knifes eh? Well there is a shop in a back alley that sells them but it's pretty shady. Actually, I remember a few days ago some rich-looking man went by there for some reason. I don't think he bought anything, but I wouldn't know. I think the guy himself is one of the political nobles of Z'ark or something, not that it means too much to the merchants here. Just thought you would know. Also uhh, don't mention any of what I just said to the shopkeeper there if you do go over there. I'd rather not end up in another mess," Biden answers.

"Huh, I see then... well, thanks. I'll go check them out. And don't worry, just a few days ago we had to put down some asshat of a Baron trying to perform a Coup over some girl who didn't want him. I've already had more than my fill of any noble nonsense for now..."

And with that, she saw herself out, but not before passing an extra 100 vespers Biden's way "here, to comemerate you turning a new leaf. And to thank ya for keeping that promise. I'm sure karik will be glad to hear you're still kicking."

Then she was back in the streets, trying to find this supposed poisoner's shop, hand on her rapier as scanned the alley ways. She had more than a few ideas why the place would go to the trouble of hiding it's store front amount the dark and the refuge, especially if it was as seedy as Biden had warned...
