A thread for the tea aficionados out there. A safe haven where we can talk about tea while we ponder the existence of life and our place in the universe. A place where we can embrace our inner love of tea, and express our devotion to this most magnificent of drinks through whatever medium we find appropriate.

So let us bask in the glory of cured leaves steeped in hot water.

Tea can be made in many different ways outside of the traditional green and black tea varieties people mostly drink. It can be infused with different flavors outside of the tea leaves, and sweeteners can be added to enhance the flavor. The culture of tea stretches back millennia, and the drink has been consumed by kings and peasants alike, and is today the most consumed beverage outside of water in the world.

I don't exactly know where you live, nor the tea culture in your country. But if you're interested in trying different varieties of tea, and finding out whether it's something for you, i recommend you go to a tea shop, or a dedicated tea-house and try various types of tea, and thus get a taste for it. I'm sure there's something for you our there.

Tea can be delicious, but tea of poor quality or one that is improperly brewed can really turn one off of tea. And from what you describe, as the tea you've tasted tasting like water, this may just be the case.

I have yet to try a cup of tea I like. The water does not change much in taste, but I can appreciate the scent. Other than that, what's all this fuss about tea?

Try green tea sometime. If you get a cup at the right place it's almost strong enough to taste like soup
