Edmond, having made the location of Solomon's ring known to him and received supplies, entered the appointed house. He saw no one inside, so he sat uncomfortably down to one side of the door to rest momentarily.

"So there's a machine on the other side that detects gold and tears no matter what universe you are in and then sends you books irrespective of your location? You are not making this sound less magical. "

"Not a machine robotic one, Librarians, the Librarians of the lost Alexandrian library retrieves the books, and the tears are for the rock, and the gold is for the ring, let me show you how this works."

The grey cloaked man shouts "Ring, wherever you are right now summon a single book at my command, something lost that will never be found."

The grey cloaked man looks at the robotic woman for a moment.

"You like Homer yes? Do you also like comedies? If you do, you will love this".

"The Margites, one that has been translated into Latin, anytime now Ring."

Snow, The Lady Ashford.

"And until he proves he cannot be trusted beyond a shadow of a doubt, no one is going to kill him. Or anyone else without due cause. "

"I agree wholeheartedly. Trust me, life taking should never be the first option considered in any situation. Wanton violence and rash killing is not a path one should walk. But, if any innocent is in danger, don't hesitate. You will know then there is no trust that should be laid in his hands. Until that happens however, there is no need. After all... I believe in 78th chances. No person is truly beyond reparation until they prove to be without a doubt. I take my leave. It is within your capable hands. I'm sure you are one of the better judges of character around here, at least one not seen in a light as I am. I know that the way I act isn't endearing. But that's not my purpose." Continued now on her way, hoping those words were enough to impart her meaning.

Edmond was sitting quietly in the seemingly empty house, minding his own business, when out of nowhere , or more precisely, out of an infinite library somewhere, a large tome appeared in midair. Edmond had just enough time to notice it and remove his head from harms way. However, it bounced off of his shoulder and fell to the floor, with the pages down. Edmond hurriedly snatched the book from the floor, hoping that there was no damage to this obviously ancient and priceless text.

What...a book? So he can use his ring without contact...

He looked at the cover. The Margites? I've never heard of that...it's in Latin. Edmond, though quite surprised, decided to take advantage of his fortune, and began to read.

Visrii looked at the grey cloaked man enviously. "If only I had some locating thing in my own staff," he mused, "then again, I probably won't get it back anyway." He shrugged and looked at the strange new potion. Some sort of restorative potion. Probably. He was tempted to mistrust the item, but then again so far no-one has attempted to kill him yet. He'd trust them for now, but as soon as he registered them hostile, he'll take back his halberd by force and leave, where-ever he would go.

The Hellfire Knight shook their head in response to Magna's second question. "No, I am fine. As for what I was doing, it was fighting in the greatest tournament Tempest has ever held. The winner will receive the right to challenge the Tenth God and become the god of whatever plane you want." The figure fell silent once again, Hiroki retreating to her thoughts once more.

The grey cloaked man rushes inside the nearest building and says "Have you seen a man/dragon/robot/mecha/necromancer/etc. Who has either been carrying a crude ring, or who has just been hit by a book?"

"Oh. That would be me. I think that I told you earlier, but I'm going to be holding onto this for a little while, just to keep things civil."

Edmond smiled in a friendly manner.

((here's what happened in case you missed it:

As he exited, he heard Solomon shouting.

"Calm down. I've got your ring, and it will be given back in due time. By that I mean very soon. We just have to prevent any bloodshed between you and the man you fought"))

"Oh, it's you; well have you at least checked the stranger for weapons other than his halberd? Because everyone who's ready for combat has a weapon in their boots, at least the crazy prepared one's anyway, and he is at least the first one".

"You do realize that I am going to continue summoning books in your general direction right? So I hope you liked classical literature and dodgeball back when you were in school. Ring, change it to the english translated version; I kind of want to read it now."

"Somebody tried to knife me once," Alexandria reminisces airily, "It tickled. And you, no hard cover. We don't have an unlimited supply of medicine, and I enjoy his company."

"Could you just delay that command for a few days? I'm kind of trying to read this book."

Edmond was uncertain of what Solomon hoped to do by summoning more books, but he knew that it had the capacity to be painful.

"Actually, this text kind of reminds me of real life right now."

"No...Just the strangeness of finding a lost treasure like this is rather comparable to the shock of being transported to another world to fight Heartless creatures. From what I can tell, it's by Homer, though I don't know who translated it. However, I've never seen a copy of it."

"It's a comedy, the original was made from papyrus, and it was lost to time; not a lot of people know that Homer had a good sense of humor; although I still prefer Voltaire; the lost book was translated somewhere else, and oh watch out here comes another one."

"What? Why?"

Edmond got to his feet swiftly, and, expecting a concussive rain of books, he pulled out the ring, planted his feet, and held it out as far as possible from his body.

I don't think he has much control over it right now...Perhaps this will direct the books away from my head?

"Ahem. Do you think you could be patient? You'll have your ring back when we begin our missions against the Heartless."

"I was simply basing my expectations of the common knowledge that when people tell me to 'watch out', I'm in danger of being hit by something."

Edmond relaxed, placed the ring back in his pocket, and sat down. He flipped open to the third page, and resumed his reading.

"Oh please, if I had wanted to kill you, you would have a rather large hole where the book fell on you, but anyway it has been a rather odd day hasn't it? I mean have you noticed the gravitational anomaly yet? It's really quite interesting".
