Tartar
It's fluffy, it's cute. It's all you could ever want in a starter Pokémon!

mar_mar
Favorite starters in general: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Torchic, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Fennekin, Froakie and all of the gen 7 starters.
Chase
1. Charmander (Fire) 2. Totodile (Water) 3. Treecko (Grass) 4. Piplup (Water) 5. Snivy (Grass) 6. Chespin (Grass) 7. Litten (Fire) 3 Grass, 2 Water, 2 Fire. Fairly balanced.
TimTim
Gen 1: Squirtle Gen 2: Totodile Gen 3: Treecko Gen 4: All of them as a set, cant choose one Gen 5: Oshawott Gen 6: Fennekin no doubt Gen 7: Tie between Popplio and Rowlet, if final evo definitely Primarina I am biased towards water starters as they tend to be cute in early stage and least weakness in final evo, Fennekin/Braixen/Delphox is an exception due to psychic type being my favourite type
Personthing
Gen 1: Charmander Gen 2: Cyndaquil (Though the Totodile and Chikorita lines are both among my top 10 favorites mons, just the Cyndaquil line is my all time favorite) Gen 3: Mudkip Gen 4: None of them Gen 5: Snivy Gen 6: Froakie Gen 7: Litten
doombotmecha
1. Bulbasaur 2. Cyndaquil 3. Torchic 4. Piplup 5. I don't any of them but I hate Tepig the least 6. Chespin 7. Rowlet 3 fire, 3 grass, 1 water. Huh. I don't really like grass as a type, but grass starters are frequently much nicer than average. Fire is my favorite of the three types, and the fire-types in gens other than 6 are all pretty great. The only uncontested gen is 2, because back when I played Silver Typhlosion was leaps and bounds better than Meganium and could even go toe-to-toe with Feraligatr before it learned hydro pump. Frozenwolf94
Gen I. Charmander Gen II. Totodile Gen III. Treecko Gen IV. Chimchar Gen V. Oshawott Gen VI. Chespin Gen VII. Litten So that makes 3 fire, 2 water and 2 grass. Pretty much I love these starters mainly cause I also love there final evolutions with the design giving them a fierce or cool look to them. LeonVermillion
gen 1: Charmander line gen 2: Cyndaquil line gen 3: it's a tie between Treecko line and Mudkip line gen 4: Chimchar line gen 5: non gen 6: Froakie line gen 7: Rowlet line top three between all of them? 1. Mudkip (Mudkip is the reason why I played RSE multiple time) 2. Froakie (if it weren't for Greninja, my Showdown and Reborn would probably fail... a lot) 3. Chimchar (same with Mudkip but change RSE with DPPt)

Froiky
1st gen: Bulbasaur. Charizard is a bit too popular (though still awesome) and I haven't played using Blastoise. That and Bulbasaur is cute, Ivysaur is cool, and Venusaur is strong. 2nd gen: Cyndaquill. Everyone seems to love Tododile (and its evolutions) but I love Cyndaquill. 3rd gen: Treecko. Partly due to Ash having on in the anime, but Sceptile is just pretty cool, especially now it has a Grass/Dragon mega evo. Like with Charizard, Blaziken is too commonly over hyped. Swampert is in a close second though. 4th gen: Torterra. Infernape is interesting but I've gotten bored of it. And I just didn't play with Empoleon a lot. 5th gen: None. Snivy's design remains boring. Oshawott I had high hopes for but was a disappointment. Tepig is probably the least disappointing, but still fire fighting. 6th gen: Foakie. The underdog that proved to come out on top. I didn't think much of it until it became Greninja. However, the similarity to my username is cool. 7th gen: Rowlet was my favorite from the start and didn't disappoint. Sadly I was spoiled to its final stage before the games came out. Cool Girl
Gen I: Charizard Gen II: All of them. I always have a hard time picking between Cyndaquill, Totodile, and Chikorita. I've used all of them and love it. Gen III: Treecko and Torchic Gen IV: Like Gen II, all of them. I've used them all and love it. Gen V: Samurott Gen VI: Fennekin, Froakie comes pretty close too Gen VII: Litten, Popplio comes pretty close too
Enigma Shot U
Bulbasaur, perfect mix of bulk and power. Chikorita, Extremely underrated. Torchic, That speed boost tho. Chimchar, Cute, and really fast. Snivy, Contrary Leaf storm anyone? Froakie, because Greninja that's why. And Popplio. Androgynous and Badass.
