PROLOGUE: RESTORIA LEAGUE'S CHAMPION

 

She cannot believe her eyes. She cannot comprehend what is actually happening right now.

"How. How could this happened ??!!"

"Why it must be you ??!!"

In front of her is her dear partner, the first pokemon she got, her sword and shield. A master of swordsmanship and courtesy. And in his full glory of Mega form. A Mega Gallade, pokemon that is feared for his fighting prowess and speed. Yet, the feared sword master is now hanging with his last ounce of stamina. The strength he had left is so little that he couldn't even use telepathy to speak with his Lady Trainer. All he could do know is stayed focus for next instruction and not averted his eyes from the opponent before him.

Across the battlefield, a mountain top littered with crystals and rainbows up above the sky, stands a smiling giant. A Snorlax, with a jet-colored belt tied along his waist, standing calmly without even a scratch. Behind him is his Trainer, a beauty wearing jet black gothic lolita dress.

Reiss Kujikawa Eden. She is a 16 years old Pokemon Trainer.

She was born into a family of exceptional Pokemon Trainers. Her father is a master martial artist and also the Fighting type Gym Leader in her region league, Lacross Region, and ought to be the strongest among Gym Leaders.

While her father is an exceptional trainer, her mother is no normal women either. Before retiring, she were feared as the most merciless among the Lacross League's Elite Four and specialized in using Dark type pokemons with must-not-be-mentioned strategy. It is rumored that the first Lacross League Champion would shiver when hearing her name and if she doesn't decided to retire, there will be no Lacross League Champion until now, saying that she were holding back during her battle with the first Lacross League Champion.

Of course, children take over their parents. Since her childhood, Reiss shown great potential as a pokemon Trainer. Moreover, she undergo martial arts training by her father and tought tactics by her mother. With mental fortitude and intellect gained from her parents' teachings combined with her talent, she is already on the victory road to glory.
Living in a Dojo plus Fighting-type Gym, she has a knack of using Fighting-type pokemons. Ever since she got her male Ralts, a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokemon, she've been aiming to raise her Ralts into Gallade, a pokemon with an image of knight. At least, in her imagination.

With fate by her side, it's just matter of time till she become a legendary-tier pokemon trainer and league champion. When she reaches 14-years old, she embarked on her journey to conquer Lacross Trainer League. It only takes her half a year to conquer the league and became Lacross League Champion also the fastest and second Trainer to become a League Champion in Lacross region.

After Lacross, she embarked for a journey to Kanto to conquer Kanto League. It takes her another half a year to replace the current Champion. She once again embarked on journey to challenge another league, this time Johto League. Also, takes her half a year to become Johto League Champion. Winning 3 leagues within a year and half, she became the hot topic across the world and placed among legendary trainers.

After Johto, Reiss set her eyes to Reborn League. The rumors of Reborn League is a very challenging league and a lot of strong trainers flocking in Reborn legion, piques her interest. Indeed, Reborn is a challenging journey. The region is corrupted with pollution and has very little pokemon population. On top of that, since the region were just reopened, it's quite lawless.

Yet, even such condition pose no threat to Reiss. With her mental strength, even such lawless place is nothing but slightly hard to find pokemon. What give her excitement in this region is the strength of the Gym Leaders and some trainers. Previous leagues not yet introduce terrain advantages, so the Gym Leaders and Elite Four has no advantage. In Reborn, with the usage of terrain effects and advantages across battlefield, Reborn Gym Leaders gave Reiss and her team the adrenaline rush they seek. It takes her a bit of time to win Reborn League, a year and half. After becoming Reborn League Champion, she decided to take a time off and gave her Gallade plus her pokemon teams a short rest. It was during this time, Reiss found a Galladite and her dear Gallade able to reach his peak of strength.

After six months of rest, Reiss and her team prepared to conquer another Pokemon League. This time is in Restoria Region, a continent that just reopened just like Reborn but after nearly 90 years disconnected from the world. From rumors she got from Ame, Reborn League's moderator, Restoria Region once raged by civil wars among them and they even used pokemon in war, resulting near extinct pokemon population as the aftermath.

The civil war even resulted to weird conditions across the region; multiple climates and unstable weather, maybe the caused by pokemon weather summoning moves used during the war. The League were reintroduced to stimulate economy and has been opened for two years already. Though there are already a League Champion not long after the league were reintroduced.

Ame also added that Gym Leaders there use the combination of terrain, climate and weather conditions for their advantage, giving destructive effect to even simple pokemon moves. According to Ame, even Reiss' fellow rival, Cain, despaired at Restoria Region. Hearing such inviting challenge, Reiss prepared her Gallade and main team roster, then embarked for Restoria Region.

And Ame wasn't wrong. Restoria League is a real deal, even for legendary tier Trainer like Reiss. No wonder her rival, Cain, felt despair although he's challenging Gym for the type he specialize in, the Poison-type Gym. For each gym, it takes Reiss four to seven times of re-challenging the Gym Leader for each types. The only gym that cause Reiss so much difficulty is her father's own gym back in Lacross League. Back then, her father knows all her tactics and team's strength, added with his pokemon's fighting specialty. It takes her seven times until she finally defeat her father.

In this Restoria League, every Gym Leaders gave her the same difficulty. Yet she perservere and continues to win despite so much losses. Reiss' Mega Gallade proved to be her lucky charm. Everytime when she's in dire state of losing, her gallant knight strive the crisis with his speed, evasion and critical damages. Even when she faced Restoria's Elite Four and much more crisis befall her, Reiss' Mega Gallade, Gawain, still remain her spark for comeback. That's what Reiss believe until she defeated the last of the Elite Four. His words after their battle spell the doom before Reiss.

"Reiss, you and your team are really strong. You and your Gallade together are much more stronger. Yet, I want you to remember my words and never, ever, forget it ...

 

Even with this level of strength and tactics, you doesn't have even a grain of sand of chance to win against Restoria's League Champion."

Reiss' make sure she remember that words but she only thought that the Restoria's League Champion is two or three times harder than Elite Four. Even if she won't win in first or second try, she will win sooner or later.

Reiss look sharply at the Restoria's League Champion. Or, it's to more that she recognize that person, no, she could never not recognize that face. The Restoria's League Champion is the weakest trainer that she ever know in her whole life.

"Heh, you still wearing goth loli dress like that ? I don't know if you're a homosexual but guys that fall for you are sure heartbroken when they knew you actually a guy, Mel"  - Reiss concealed her despair with sarcasm towards her opponent.

"Is that all, Reiss ?"- Mel answered with a very sweet and girlish voice. Anyone who heard it are sure mistaken it for young girl's voice but the reply contains no emotion at all.
Reiss heart filled with rage, yet she still maintained her composure. Seeing Gawain standing with a little energy he had left, Reiss racked her brain for any strategy she could think. Yet she couldn't find any.

Mel's Snorlax is too much strong. It had KOed five of Reiss' pokemon in a row. Even though Reiss team is make up of Fighting-types, that Snorlax defeats them without taking too much damage. Reiss remembered the Elite Four's reminder on how she doesn't even have a chance of winning.

Reiss cannot accept this. Losing to the weakest pokemon trainer she know would bring shame to her reputation as 4 League Champion. Losing her composure, she orders Gawain by  using telepathy. As a Psychic-type pokemon, Gawain could use telepathy and converse with human language but this time, he couldn't even spend any strength to meaningless conversation.

"Gawain, use [Close Combat] !!" - Reiss shouted in Gawain's mind

Without hesitating, Gawain muster all his strength and dashes towards his opponent, greatly reduce the range between them. Then he rush Mel's Snorlax with his fists and elbow blades, using all his martial art techniques that he hone for years.

"Master Smile, evade the attack" - Mel softly order his Snorlax.

As a pokemon with human intelligence, Gawain cannot comprehend what happened next. Even Reiss felt like she was dreaming. Mel's Master Smile evaded Gawain's [Close Combat] rush like it's nothing. A large pokemon like Snorlax could never evade high speed attacks like that, all they can do is guard against it. Yet Master Smile is doing the impossible. He evade Gawain's attacks by hair's thickness and not taking a single damage. After Gawain's [Close Combat] finishes, the Snorlax called Master Smile retreat by three steps back and taking offensive posture.

"Master Smile, use Giga Impact" - Mel said to Master Smile.

At the same time, the energy from the littered crystals and rainbows aura resonated. Master Smile absorbed the resonating energy and dashes towards the weaken Mega Gallade. Like announcing his victory, Master Smile roared and it's paws pounds his opponent.

The very mountain range is shaken.
