I know we're under spoiler lock, but we're allowed discussion threads on the episode, right? If not, admins, feel free to remove this thread. Spoilers in case anyone wanders into this thread.

Anyway, E16 has been out to the community for over 24 hours now, and us non-Ace users have had their chance to bite into the new release, hopefully long enough to form and share a few opinions on it. Here's mine.

So E16 was my first release, having found Reborn a few months after E15 came out. I have to say, this Episode blew all of my expectations out of the water. The update in music made the return to Reborn fresh and exciting, seeing the city fixed, vibrant, and full of life was incredible; especially after all we've been through. I will admit to not liking the Champion reveal (I was really gunning for Anna), but then Ame died and I felt better. I also really like this development because it further solidifies Lyn as this huge threat, as well as leave the region champion-less. I love Adrienn's incentive to drive the MC to become the new champion; makes sense within the story. Also excited that we're finally set to explore the desert. Been wanting to do that since I saw my first glimpse of it in Beryl.

The fights in this episode were solid. I run a Dark/Ghost dual-type team, so Victoria was my hardest challenge (her Meinfoo outsped my flyer; not cool). I enjoyed battling Arclight after knowing him for so long, and the teaser of Ame vs Lyn was quite the twist. The image of Hydregon flying towards Ame before devouring her is haunting. My favorite fight however was against LEZ. Not only because of the implications behind it (Are two of the three personalities gone for good?), but because that PULSE Magnezone sprite is all kinds of bad-ass. I legit panicked when I saw that thing transform, and felt like an absolute champ when I took it down first try. (Thank you Chandelure!) But seriously, I need A. a back sprite for that amazing pokemon, and B. a way to get it on my team.

I will say though, my absolute favorite thing about the update is the new city and its NPCs! Although surfing on Azurine Lake was a close second; that was super cathartic. But I love the sense of progression that the city gives you. It's no longer run down, full of cracks, and taken over by Team Meteor. Instead, it's vibrant, full of life (with new citizens to boot!), and stunningly beautiful. On top of that, every single NPC that you've encountered in the game remembers you. That blew me away. Those punks you battles on Opal Bridge after each badge? Yeah, they remember you, and recall that time you were a noob with only one badge, taking on the world. The students in Onyx treat you like you're the most popular kid in school for beating Fern. The scientist that heals you in the library's still there, and remembers that time he helped you take down Team Meteor. Even the old man with the bug garden makes a return and has a few positive things to say to you. The NPCs recognize you as one of the people who are bringing them salvation and it's extremely rewarding to see. There's even a girl who's rooting for Shelly! I smiled when reading that.

I'd go on, but I think I've gushed long enough. I haven't fully delved into the side-quests yet, school and exams preventing me from doing that. But, I do think that this episode was worth the wait. Looking forward to starting a new save and experiencing it all in one go!

Spoiler

ZEL's fight:
> Setting up Sandstrom
> Setting up Sand Rush - Excadrill with Swords Dance
Me: "Pulse Magnezone? More like Pup Magnezone, LOL."

** Levitates **

Me: "Nai wa. Seriously? Nai wa..."

Ame: "Get f*cked."
Me: "Please don't say that phrase when you get yourself rekt just before me."

And thanks to my Iron Fist - Infernape's Close Combat, Ability Capsule, F12 button(soft-reset for Jolly, though I doubt my Infernape is slower than Pulse Magnezone) and dozens of Tauros corpses for those juicy EVs that make me past on first run.

But seriously, I thought that I will get to read a lot more dialogues of Ame when I saw that she's a champion now.
Why do you have to kill yourself!? x(((
(I know you're laughing aren't you Ame? To betray ones expectations.)

Anyways.
Other than that:

- The puzzle is pretty hard for me if I want to pass it w/o getting hit at all.
(R.I.P. F12 button)

- Adrien(?) was pretty easy for me overall. Excadrill FTW.

- Those entrance are hidden so well, especially those caves since I am playing at night. Well enough that I literally want to jump off the bridge.

(get it? The bridge. N-not funny? What're you talking about!?)

- Newer sprites are very well refined. I personally favor those house under the water. Looks super kool. Attack animations are kool too.

- Wtf are with those compensation price to fix those stuff? Are you trying to make me go bankrupt or something!?

Though, again, it feels very short, story-wise.
But can't complain I guess.

Good job!

EDIT: No one seems to wants my autograph. Maybe I slain too much Tauros?
EDIT-2: What's with relationship value? Can I marry Luna now? :D

I haven't finished the ep yet so I'll avoid talking about it besides

Spoiler

the students at the Onyx school talking about how I kicked Fern's ass. Love it. Made the episode for me even though I haven't finished it.

So non spoily stuff ...Some of the shiny sprites got redone like Gardevoir! Not a huge amount but a few and I do like the new Gardevoir. Another thing I notice was well...I was a bit under leveled with most of my mons being at the 70s. That's ok since I remembered the trainers at the Grandhall were upgraded whoo!

Spoiler

To 80+s.

I don't know if that's spoily but I'll hide it to make sure but..that's a huge jump from Clown Inwin(I think that was his name) 65 teams. I mean they are possible to beat but you're not one shotting anything without set up and type advantage, that's for sure.
