dotahkin01
So pretty soon you can catch these bugs: Bug: Spinarak, Combee, Pineco, Caterpie, Ledyba, Wurmple, Burmy, Kricketot, Surskit But where? and how valid/strong are the evolves of these bugs? cheers, Edit: I already have a zigzagoon with headbutt :):)
0 Farnsworth
Try looking for them in the Pokemon Location Guide Thread. Also, most of these bugs aren't very strong, but they're fine for the start of the game.

0 Alistair
Kricketot is given for adoption by a woman in a building on the eastern side of peridot. The ability technician it gets when evolving makes it extremely useful at least for the first 2 gyms, so I would definitely recommend using it. 0 Supporter AiedailEclipsed Posted December 20, 2016 Supporter Share Posted December 20, 2016 In my current playthrough, I've only used two of these: Kricketot and Combee. As for Kricketot, I only really used it for a bit until I could build my full team up to what I wanted. However, I've heard it does have a fair bit of use early game with Technician + Fury Cutter. Combee... <3 The gender disparity was rigged against me with only a 12.5% chance to find a female. However, one Cute Charm male Igglybuff later, I had a suitable female Combee in short order. Once evolved into Vespiquen, it is actually a pretty powerful early game Pokémon, with nice stats though the move pool isn't great without TMs and her good moves won't really come in until level 25. Kricketot is indeed available freely via event in Peridot. Combee is available as a headbutt Pokémon from the Opal Ward outside of the Grand Hall. 0 dotahkin01
@Farnsworth @Lord Drakyle @Alistair @AiedailEclipsed @Amine elhedhili Thx guys! I'll get kricketot and try to find a good combee (luckily there's a speed hack built in Ep 16 with alt haha) Also, which bugs are good? For now I have "cheeted" Larvesta and scatterbug (shiny ofc ) which i play to use for a the remaining of this run. Which leaves 4 slots. Yanma and dwebble seems realy strong and venipede seems a good addition as well. Ofcourse i watn joltik and anorith seems good to have in rotation as well. Heracross and pincer are a no-brainer. Crustle seems nice for setting up or as somewhat of a tank? Maybe add shuckle and that steel-ant? Did i miss a major bugtype?

Pokémon are good nor bad, just more suited to the intent you want and the purpose more so than others depending on the situation, if you want pokemon good at taking hits, Pineco's evolution into Fortress puts him as quite a useful pokemon in that field as does Shuckle share that same ability to take hits, if you want fast pokemon that can hit with strong attacks you have Joltik, Prankster Illumise offers priority to land those crucial status ailments or debuffs, again it's down to purpose
0 Alistair
Volcarona is undoubtedly excellent but until Larvesta evolves it's going to be dead weight. Be prepared to compensate him with other team members if you plan on keeping him around permanently. Among the other mons you listed, I would say Scolipede, Galvantula, Heracross and Durant are the most reliably useful. Durant in particular can really shine against some leaders. To give you an idea, I always thought Radomus was super easy because I always had Durant. No later than this morning I faced him without Durant and struggled a LOT more than usual. 0 ChineseSkyCandy
In my Mono-bug runthrough, the main way of winning major battles has been Sticky Web Galvantula + Moxie Heracross and Shell Smash Crustle, depending on the matchup; otherwise, the MVP is Escavalier, which will usually be your go-to when you need to tank a hit. I'd go as far as to say that these four are pretty much mandatory and I have never rotated them out since picking them up. In terms of other options, Vivillon is probably the best Quiver Dancer with Venomoth not far behind, Leavanny can be extremely useful in certain battles with Nature Power (for example, mine swept Kiki using Nature Power --> Meditate, which boosts Attack 3 stages on her field), Yanmega and Scolipede's Speed Boost can be a lifesaver in some situations as well. In the early game, don't sleep on some more lesser-used bugs either; my Wormadam-G proved invaluable in certain battles as it is the only Bug at that point with access to an offensive Rock-type move (Crustle arrives quite late), which I needed to take on people like Cal (who is incidentally probably Bug Mono's greatest enemy due to lack of options). Forretress helps immensely vs. Aya, with Spikes + field effect wearing down her team. Bug Monotype is great fun! Hope you have as much fun as I have doing it! I was actually not plannign on using escavalier ;p And yes, Galvantula and heracross will be core in my team once I can pick them up And i think i'm gonna wing Cal..... XD IDK how i'll defeat him but i won't train wormadam unless I cant do it without. Anyways, i'll have to rely on vivillion, fortress and kricketune for a long time which Kinda suck but i'll manage
