[Spoiler] Whiscash catching

In episode 16 in the Tanzan Cave is a fisherman. After diving in the pond and finding dead bodies, I talked to him(hadn't noticed him at first). He said something about finding a whiscash that looted a body.

Now my job is to get a whiscash for him so he can search it. Thing is, after catching one, the loot wasn't in it. How big is the chance to actually get the loot from this event? Is it just random, or do I need to catch and give up a fixed amount? Also, will it even EVER give the loot, or is this just a "joke" quest?

If possible, don't spoil the ending of the quest, I was just curious for the amount I need to catch

i finished the quest. it took me 3 wishcashs though i killed one shiny for this quest.(the amount needed to catch may differ from yours)  this quest is definitely not a joke quest as the reward at the end of this quest, SOME people might find it useful and others might not find it useful

There is a set amount, which is indeed three as said above. After you get the reward you should return to Simon.
