IntSys
Well, I'm no expert, but here are some of the more obvious flaws that I see, @Dypatome Timid Porygon-Z @ Life Orb Ability: Adaptability EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Ice Beam Thunderbolt Nasty Plot Recover Why run Adaptability when you're not running a single STAB move? Either change it to Download or switch Recover with Tri-Attack. Naive Haxorus @ BrightPowder Ability: Mold Breaker EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Dragon Dance Dragon Claw Brick Break Iron Tail Why run Naive when you're not running a special move? Just change it to Adamant. Also, Poison Jab's 100 Accuracy is much more preferred than Iron Tail's 75% Accuracy if you're trying to beat fairies. Brick Break is just a poor coverage. What it hits could be hit harder with Low Kick instead. Adamant Minior @ White Herb Ability: Shields Down EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 12 Spe Shell Smash Acrobatics Earthquake Power Gem Personal preference, but I'd opt for 252 speed so it can take advantage of Shell Smash even when in Meteor forme. Mr. Penglog
Hey guys. This is a noob question cause I'm not familiar with competitive play mechanics. Are challengers allowed with only one mega evolved pokemon on their team? Or are we allowed as many as we want provided that we dont use the banned mega stones? I've been planning to join in on the fun when the redemption league comes out and I have zero experience. The closest I could think of as competitive experience is my frequent battles in reborn online play random matchups. Edit: Ill be posting my redemption team soon for some suggestions. Lugruf
I made this in a moment. Any feedback will be appreciated. I named the team "Balance that looks like HO" Greninja @ Life Orb Ability: Protean EVs: 8 Atk / 248 SpA / 252 Spe Naive Nature - Ice Beam - Gunk Shot - Hydro Pump - U-turn Manectric-Mega @ Manectite Ability: Lightning Rod EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Thunderbolt - Volt Switch - Overheat - Hidden Power [Grass] Excadrill @ Choice Scarf Ability: Mold Breaker EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Earthquake - Iron Head - Rock Slide - Rapid Spin Infernape @ Leftovers Ability: Blaze EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 124 SpD / 48 Spe Jolly Nature - Flare Blitz - Taunt - Slack Off - Will-O-Wisp Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet Ability: Rough Skin EVs: 240 HP / 176 Def / 92 Spe Impish Nature - Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Dragon Tail - Fire Blast Scizor @ Choice Band Ability: Technician EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD Adamant Nature - Bullet Punch - U-turn - Superpower - Pursuit The idea is to use fast offensive pokemon like Gren and Manectric to force switches and get either fire off STABs for chip damage or gain momentum with the volt-turn core. Banded Scizor is a beast when brought with a slow switch that can threaten lots of pokemon with its massive damage, pursuit trap or even keep playing the volt-turn game with a its STAB choice band boosted u-turn. Excadrill can ravenge kill, clean in late game after the opposing team is weakened or act as an offensive support and rapid spin hazards when forcing a switch. Infernape has a great bulk, recovery and can act as an stallbreaker against blobs thanks to taunt. Tankchomp is pretty standard, and provided me a very solid yet hard hitting stealth rock setter. Ojama Yellow
@Lugruf your team is VERY focused on singles, which may be abused by the leaders. as in, they may go for doubles/triples more frequently when battling you. the earthquake attacks of your excadrill and garchomp are threats to your teammates as well in doubles- you have no ground resists/immunities, not to mention that half of your team is weak to earthquake and greninja wont be able to reliably bulk earthquakes either. if you want to go through with this team, may I suggest putting protect on some of your earthquake-weak pokemon? maybe this feedback is really focused towards doubles/triples, and most gym battles happen to be singles, but its likely a good idea to be prepared for it either way. Winter
Okay, so I haven't done any competitive battling in forever, but I saw this and thought it would be fun, so I threw a team together and started battling. But I could really use some other people's input to make it as good as it could be! Spoiler Earth (Slurpuff) @ Sitrus Berry Ability: Unburden EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Belly Drum - Play Rough - Drain Punch - Return My favorite Pokemon, and an amazing (But situational) sweeper! Slurpuff really only has one strategy, but it's so good it's hard to pass up. The plan is to use Belly Drum, and then eat the Sitrus Berry, which gives back some HP and activates Unburden. Now Slurpuff has double speed, and FOUR TIMES ATTACK. It's honestly ridiculous how good Slurpuff is, and as long as it's checks have been taken care of Slurpuff essentially becomes a "Press here to win" button. However, it does have trouble setting up, and even if it does, it can still be taken care of by priority. (Having a Tapu Lele would have been nice, but alas, no legendaries.) But if it's given a chance to set up and all it's checks are dead, it can turn entire games around. Halley (Azumarill) @ Assault Vest Ability: Huge Power EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD Adamant Nature - Play Rough - Waterfall - Aqua Jet - Knock Off Azumarill is lovely, it's a great revenge killer and counter to plenty of things. It doesn't need much explaining, it just hits things until they're dead. Centauri (Pinsir) @ Pinsirite Ability: Hyper Cutter EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Swords Dance - Return - X-Scissor - Quick Attack The Mega of my team, and another amazing physical sweeper and revenge killer. It's attack is ludicrously high, and Aeriliate + STAB makes Return into a 183 base power move with perfect accuracy and no drawbacks. It's so strong that it can sometimes get OHKO's on neutral hits, and will almost always OHKO on neutral hits after Swords Dance. Quick Attack is also really strong, and makes Pinsir a great revenge killer. The problem, like Slurpuff, is that it is hard for it to set up since it can't take hits all that well. But if it gets one Swords Dance boost it can tear through entire teams, and not even priority can stop it. The only drawbacks are that regular non-mega Pinsir kinda sucks, so it always has to hold the Mega Stone, and it also very weak to Stealth Rocks, especially in Mega-Form. Io (Tyranitar) @ Lum Berry Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Dragon Dance - Stone Edge - Crunch - Earthquake Tyranitar is honestly in a league of it's own, for starters it's bulk is nothing to scoff at, and often allows it to set up multiple Dragon Dances which makes it a deadly sweeper. Also it has sand, which is nice for removing weather. Lum Berry is also a great item on Tyranitar, allowing it to shrug of burns, paralysis or toxic. Which are otherwise the bane of sweepers. Really, the only things wrong with it is that it's Stone Edge has pretty shaky accuracy, and the fact that Tyranitar is kind of slow, so even with one Dragon Dance it won't be able to outspeed everything. And I also suppose it could potentially Mega Evolve if I give it a Tyranitarite, but Pinsir needs the Mega way more. I guess it will depend on who I'm facing. Andromeda (Volcarona) @ Leftovers Ability: Flame Body EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Quiver Dance - Roost - Bug Buzz - Fiery Dance Here it is, Volcarona, one of my all-time favorite Pokemon and the only special sweeper on my team. I believe that Volcarona is criminally underrated, as it's easily one of the best non-legendary Pokemon in the game, and the only thing really holding it back is Stealth Rocks. An acceptable flaw when you realise that Volcarona is the best Quiver Dancer and one of the best special sweepers in the game, with a signature move that makes it EVEN STRONGER. As long as there is no Stealth Rock, Volcarona can switch into a resisted special attack and set up from there, as well as recover any damage with Roost and Leftovers. (I know Leftovers seems odd for a sweeper, but it really helps) After a few Quiver Dances, Volcarona is unstoppable. The only thing that kind of sucks is that there are many Pokemon that resist both of it's STABs. So Volcarona can easily get walled. Eris (Hydreigon) @ Choice Specs Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Dark Pulse - Draco Meteor - Flash Cannon - Flamethrower And finally, the dark dragon herself, Hydreigon! An excellent wallbreaker, and another Pokemon that doesn't need much explaining. Timid nature is so it will get as many outspeeds as possible. It also really, REALLY hates fairies, and having Flash Cannon unfortunately doesn't help much. I know that my team is very far from perfect, and that's why I could really use some suggestions to help me. Since you aren't allowed to change Pokemon or Moves, I kind of want it to be the best it can be from the start.

Hi! I dont have experience on competitive matches but seeing one obvious flaw (which you mentioned), 2 of your pokemons are 4x weak against stealth rock. I suggest including a pokemon who could atleast remove that entry hazard. A pokemon with magic bounce or a spinner and defogger would be IMO a great help on setting up your volcarona (because you have to waste a turn on roost to heal it to full health and you have to wait for another opportunity to set up quiver dance) and mega pinsir. Hope I helped
