Tania's Team for E17

The most likely scenario for fighting Titania on the Fairy Tale Field is if we battle her at the Mirage Tower, and it winds up containing a very similar ruin to the one at Citae Arc d'Astrae within. Otherwise, I'd imagine that fighting her in the Desert Field makes the most sense, since you know... Excadrill. That field procs Sand Rush immediately, God help us all.

EDIT: Unless, of course, she has an outdoor gym built in the style of the Fairy Tale Field -- but it's hard for me to picture grass growing out there. Oh well, Pokémon magic explains everything.

why not battle her on the desert field?

Because the desert does little to help her, the only hing it does is activating sand force, sand veil and sand rush which potent only help a small section of the steel types and not even the notorious steel stypes. On top of that the field boosts sunny day and heat wave.

The fairy tail field on the other had boosts steel type moves and has synergy with known steel type moves and abilities.

As per the wiki:

  • Fairy- and Steel-type attacks increase in base power to 1.5x

Should be self-explanatory. It basically gives an innate boost to her mons. Also being a Steel-type leader means that she won't have much issue dealing with Fairy Types.

Nullifies one of Steel's hardest weaknesses. Basically, this means that Fire would just do normal or even NVE damage to most of her mons, barring x4 weak to Fire mons like Ferrothorn or Scizor. Also makes her Skarmory have only one weakness.

  • Stance Change will raise the bearer's Attack and lower the bearer's Defense by one stage when switching to Blade form, and raise the bearer's Defense and lower the bearer's Attack by one stage when switching to Shield form.

In short, this makes her Aegislash a lot more scary by giving it a x1.5 DEF boost while in shield form and a x1.5 ATK boost while in Blade form, especially how Aegislash basically has extremely high base stats already.

Basically, this means that Aegislash will have pretty much a STAB'ed Sacred Sword and her other mons will greatly enjoy the boost from Night Slash. Good luck dealing with this monster that has 150 base ATK and all of these multiplier on top of it. Especially since it'll be taking neutral damage from Fire and will have 150 DEF along with a further 1 stage defense bonus.

Moves with amplified stat changesEdit

Shield MovesEdit

  • Crafty Shield and Flower Shield will boost the user's Defense and Special Defense one stage in addition to their usual effects.
  • Spiky Shield will protect from moves that do not inflict damage in addition to its usual effects.
  • King's Shield will lower an attacker's Special Attack 2 stages on contact and will protect from moves that do not inflict damage in addition to its usual effects.

60 BP STAB priority moves from a M-Scizor after using what's pretty much a physical tail glow. Yeah, really. Also mention that it only takes x2 rather than x4 damage from Fire-type moves. And the King's Shield buff makes the already ridiculous Aegislash even worse. If the battle happens to be on a Fairy Tale field WITH constant Sandstorm then you'll also have to deal with the possibility of Excadrill sweeping your team.

So yeah, if we fight Titania in the Fairy Tale Field, it'll be a far more difficult fight than if we fight her in the desert field. Yes, her Excadrill will love perma-sand, but that's pretty much it when it comes to boosting her team. Plus, this leaves her team vulnerable to Heat Wave spam, so I really think we'll be fighting her in that field instead.
