ANNOUNCING STUFF

AND NEW REDEMPTION STAFF

Hello Reborn! We’d like to announce that everyone’s favorite pony, @DashingStorm, is resigning from Redemption League.

We thank him for all the things he’s done for Redemption League and we would’ve liked if he had the time to stay with us.

We also thank @Nova for all the sprites and contributions to Redemption League.

May he rest in peace. (He’s not dead, he's gone for now.)

But we also have some new people in our staff.

Please welcome @Sonata and @Personthing

They will surely put in work for the Redemption League!

Don’t forget to check out the new Redemption channel in Reborn’s Pokémon Showdown server.

You can find it using this link: http://reborn.psim.us/theredemptionleague

The Redemption tiers are also updated with gen 7 Pokémon. Triples included.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Greetings, challengers! I'm here to announce the official League hours for Season 2! To account for our challengers all around the world, League hours will operate a little bit differently to the previous season.

League Hours will run every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from:

1) EARLY - 12pm ~ 3pm EST (5pm ~ 8pm GMT)

2) LATE - 6pm ~ 9pm EST (11pm ~ 2am GMT)

A couple of important rules regarding this:

1. You may only challenge ONCE per day. Even though there are 2 sessions of League each day, you may only challenge only on one session per day. You may face consequences if you are caught challenging more than once per day.

2. Leaders won't be available at all League sessions. Details of their availability will be announced once they are officially revealed.

Please post any questions in the Discussions thread. Good luck to all the participants!

ANNOUNCEMENT

Starting Sunday, after you register a team, you may not register another team for 2 weeks.

The reasons are: people re-registering their teams too often, putting too much work and confusion for both our Trainer Card makers and Leaders.

The teams posted in the Sign-Up thread are supposed to be your finalized teams.

Just a suggestion, not saying anything against the rule or anything but maybe you should make a restart thread to prevent the clutter and confusion? Unless it's too much of a pain for someone to check it like once a week?

ANNOUNCEMENT

Just in case, people didn't read the recent Redemption Weekly post, there has been a bracket shift:

Spoiler

MIRA has been promoted to Bracket 2

HALEY has been demoted  to Bracket 1

Make sure to keep these changes in mind while making your respective challenge!

Regarding the counter-teaming issues from before, we've discussed this issue and we're aware of the fact that it's annoying for some, often leading to a restart. We get it, it's difficult to adapt to situations, but it's even more difficult for us to fine-tune the actual border of what's considered countering and what isn't.

So we've come up with this PSA.

PSA: Leaders work around a core and are indeed allowed to switch things up every now and then. Considering that most of them run static teams already, this will usually lead to a 1-move or 1-mon change. If that greatly disadvantages the challenger, please keep in mind that leaders are already heavily limited to their type, as opposed to challengers having free choice of the types they choose to bring into battle. The only thing we can actually do to get rid of this "counter teaming" issue, is to force leaders to have 100% static teams, with set Pokemon and set movesets. This would make the aspect of a challenging League void, since people do watch battles, people strategize with eachother and/or talk about previously used strategies by leaders. This is something we're trying to avoid, and is really hard to fine-tune, but the best we can have the leaders do, is to try and limit changing Pokemon/teams as little as possible, while still trying to provide a reasonable challenge that isn't over-the-top difficult.
