StrangledFish
You know how pokemon trainers tend to have this pokemon that people usually identify them with like Ash's Pikachu or Cynthia's garchomp. I wonder what each gym leader's signature pokemon is, does anyone know??
FairFamily
I think this is the list, some are easy but it is quite hard to define a signature if you see them battle only once or twice. Julia: Electrode Florinia: Cradilly Corey: Crobat Shelly: Yanmega (not 100% sure) Shade: Chandelure Kiki: Medicham Aya: Dragalge (not 100% sure) Noel: Clefable Serra: Frosslass (not 100% sure) Radomus: Gardevoir Luna: Umbreon (not 100% sure) Samson: Conkeldurr (not 100% sure) Charlotte: Ninetales Terra: Garchomp Ciel: Altaria Adrienn: Florges (not 100% sure) Amaria: Lapras Titania: Aegislash Saphira: Dragonite Edited January 23, 2017 by FairFamily
StrangledFish
Well, I guess it truly is hard to identify one when you only see them once. This list is fairly close if not exactly the same as what I see as the signature, thank you for your response.

While Tania and Hardy aren't 100% confirmed, those are very highly likely the aces they will use based on what they used during their league battles. As for the non badge leaders (they all served as gym leaders during the league season though): Sigmund: Electivire El: Ditto (people say Snorlax, but he's also had Smeargle in his pictures) Laura: Lilligant Blake: Walrien Cal: Magmortar Cain: Nidoking Victoria: Gallade (Emboar in the games though) Arclight: Jolteon (Ampharos in game though) Heather: Salamence Bennett: Volcarona Anna: No idea, but has Gothitelle (likely won't use Jirachi) Lin: Hydreigon Fern: Roserade
Global Mods Dreamy Posted January 23, 2017 Global Mods Share Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) If you think someones mega pokemon is always their signature, the ones after ciel probably aren't correct. Adrienns would be Mawile, and It's hard to know for the unreleased ones, but I think Titanias would be Scizor, regardless of the mega thing or not. I think all the ones up to Ciel are all correct except for Yanmega on Shelly (I think Bugsy the Volbeat was her strongest). EDIT: Commander Ninja'd it also Commander, wouldn't it be Lilligant not petilil? Edited January 23, 2017 by DreamblitzX ninja'd
Global Mods Ice Cream Sand Witch Posted January 23, 2017 Global Mods Share Posted January 23, 2017 Shelly's is Volbeat. Hardy's could be either Gigalith or Lunatone and Solrock. On his trainer cards for the online league, I've seen both next to him on cards.
FairFamily
I know volbeat was the strongest, but the thing with it was that I only saw it once while Yanmega came up a lot more. Also does she even have Volbeat in Ametrine? I really don't know. Its kinda the same reason I think Aegislash is Titania's signature mon. It's so iconic to her that if I think the first mon of Titania .
ZEL
I guess it comes down to how you differentiate between "signature" and "ace". In the game, the ace is the last Pokémon a leader will send out. Or at least they're supposed to. (I think they do now, though, unless it's still not fixed.) A signature 'mon doesn't have to be the same as the ace, as I can believably see a trainer have more than one signature. Shelly is a good example - her ace is Volbeat, but you could argue that Yanmega and Volbeat are both signatures, and that the same goes for things like Tania's Aegislash or Hardy's Gigalith. They're undeniably iconic.

Commander
@ZEL I have to agree with you on that point considering my signature and ace are two different Pokemon. The thing is that those Pokemon are the Signature Pokemon to the leaders themselves, but Ame made them the aces. For example, Luna hardly ever used Umbreon despite it being her ace in the game. Shade often led with Chandelure as well. But as for in-game, most leaders have secondary aces such as Corey's Skuntank which is where the gray area comes in. Not to mention Ame said she was considering giving her Jirachi (before E16 came out). I think that most likely points towards Nostra being her ace. Also IIRC Hardy's most recent aces for the online league was Lunatone and Solrock and for the most part the gym leaders use their most recent aces (such as Amaria with Lapras instead of Kingdra). Though Gigalith, Tyranitar and (I think) Shuckle were also his aces at some point in the online League.
