StormLord
Spicy HG caught a glimpse of Bridgett heading into the kitchen to do...something, but had chosen to ignore it since she seemed to not like direct confrontation with people and was obviously trying not to be noticed. A few minutes later she heard the cry and smelt the smoke from the oven, Spicy HG got up from where she'd been sitting and immediately ran into the kitchen. She saw Bridgett's weapon pointed at the oven, raised and gathering energy. "What are you doing? Stop, let me get it!" She made her way towards the oven coughing on smoke as she went, once she got there she reached in to pull out the pan of carbonized cookies, closed the oven, and turned it off. She threw the burning cookies in the sink and started dowsing the fire, either with water or her hands if none was available.
Strider
Liliya jogged in the general direction where the smoke seemed to be coming from. Was the castle on fire? It was all stone right? Could she be hallucinating from the poppies or something? She felt fine, mostly, and still had her mental clarity. Probably wasn't the poppies, honestly, but it was worth keeping in mind. She entered the kitchen, slowing from a jog. "What's going on, what's on fire?"
Unlurking Sentinel
With a loud 'SHEONG' and a small light, a figure had suddenly appeared. To those in the ballroom (or in general), it must've looked like a small child in an overly elaborate Halloween wizard costume. Then, in an adult male's voice, he spoke thusly: "Wh-where am I? This i-isn't Horizon..." He looked around the area, and a look of confusion grew on his mostly-obscured face. "...A ballroom? Whose home is this?" Soon after, he noticed the smoke coming out of a nearby door and filling the room, which he soon followed out of mild concern, mumbling nonsense along the way before entering the kitchen. "Hello? It appears that I had some rare mishap in the aether while warping to Horizon. Do you know where this is?" He payed very little visible attention to the burning state of the room. rustytengo
Bridgett stopped her charging and loweredMornings Arrow "I..I..was just trying to make...cookies for everyone but...but then smoke started to fill the room and...and then I tried to get the cookies out buut then fire. I couldn't find the sink....so I was just going to blast it."Bridgett said noticeably flustered.
Unlurking Sentinel
"...muttermutter... You must not have heard me clearly. I was teleporting to Horizon, but I must have had an incident in the aether. I asked you where I am, not to explain the mess you made. ...muttermutter..." This small person was clearly impatient. Yours Truly
By this point in time Solomon's patience had already started to wear a little thin, mostly because the gorgon had already drained a decent amount of his blood into that cauldron of her's already, and the fact that she was now asking for all of his hair was starting to get to him enough to make him ask, "Do we really need to take away all of my hair for this?". Hal Henderics
"Look, it's symbolic, either I get all of your hair, or there's a non-zero chance the book comes out with a hatred and desire for your death." Strider
"Cookies? Damn, that would have been nice. But," Here Liliya narrowed her eyes, glancing around the room. "Why the hell would blasting the fire be a good idea??" She was going to pry into this a bit, because it felt like a bad cover story. The girl was flustered, and her story didn't make much sense. Did they even have flour? And how had she managed to burn the food so soon after they left the last world? It hinted at maybe some form of sabotage, or at least something the girl wasn't explaining. StormLord
Spicy HG thought to herself for a moment as Bridgett finished, "Oh dear me, how terribly pure and innocent for someone who just got through vaporizing eldritch horrors" Then she walked toward Bridgett a bit(and away from the smoke) before speaking again. "Oh, well it, it was probably something in these old ovens shorting out. They look about five decades out of date so who knows? Let's head back to the main room and give this place some time to clear out." She turned and started making her way to the door, only to catch sight of the small wizard person standing there looking indignant and impatient. "Oh you must be another new person, follow us and we'll explain what happened." With that Spicy HG led them back to the main room where they could sit on various pieces of rubble without choking on smoke while they talked. Because really I'm just worried that all of this will end with a bald me trying to fend off a book made out of my own hair as it wraps around my head," Solomon said as he weakly leaned back on his throne of books. Unlurking Sentinel
It was at this point that the small wizard took notice of the man, and the gorgon, and the blood cauldron and assorted dark ritual effects, for what is somehow the first time, and instinctively drew his rod from his back, preparing for combat. A Voidsent, here? Did this man recently summon it, or was it sealed in an artifact and accidentally released? Glowing lines formed a large magic circle around his feet. The former seems more likely, given the surroundings. Oh, why couldn't I have noticed this sooner? I could have prevented the summoning... Dark purple energy formed around the head of his rod... Hal Henderics
"Hello!" Dackly shouts, waving."Oh sweet, you've got Dark Magic? I've been needing some, go ahead and fire it over!" She says, unaware of his intent to harm.
Unlurking Sentinel
...And with a flick of his arm, the dark energy dissipated, and a jagged emanation of ice was summoned towards the Gorgon. (Cast Blizzard on the gorgon) And with the same flicking motion, the small wizard brought the rod back towards himself, as more dark energy consumed it. Yours Truly
Solomon does what any reasonable person would do and instinctively shields himself and the cauldron he is standing right beside with a wall of books just in case the magic cast by the killer midget and the gorgon led to a classical explosion "Whhen did we get killer midgets". Unlurking Sentinel
With the next flick, he threw a large fireball centered around the gorgon, hoping to catch some of the dark artifacts with it. Powder Miner
Navin had sort of been aimlessly wandering the castle -- with the momentousness of the previous battle, and with the goddess' earlier failure to actually soothe his issues with the bloodiness of the battles, he found it hard to settle down without simply curling up into some corner somewhere, and he felt that if he kept doing that it'd be a failure on his part, at some point. The thing was, it... wasn't like he really had anything else of worth to contribute, then and there. The fighting was over, and Navin was only good for fighting -- had only been good for fighting since the invasion of Earth. And since he was no longer on that horrible battleground and was instead back in the castle (it seemed almost like it had been forever), there wasn't exactly going to be any fighting for him to deal with. ...or, so he'd thought, anyway. His wandering took him to the ballroom area of the castle, and from there he heard the sounds of energy attacks (a wide category, in superhero parlance) being thrown around, and of impacts -- and he promptly watched as some sort of strange, childlike, wizard man gathered magic and then flung a ball of fire at the other occupants of the room. "Wh--" Navin cut himself off, as a pair of loud POPs sounded out as small explosions blossomed from Navin's hands, lengthening his stride as both feet were in the air for portions of time. Moving this way through a combination of running and blast propulsion, straining his joints and stumbling with the strides he couldn't quite keep up with, Navin managed to get himself into the middle of room in time to intercept the fireball far short of its target, the spell instead exploding across his back. Some of the fire splashed across the white armor plates attached to his equally white jumpsuit, and the suit itself was also fireproof thanks to the need for it with the nature of his powers, but the intense blast of heat was completely unimpeded, and Navin let out an "Rggghhhh!" at the pain of it, breathing heavily, before turning around in the direction of the wizard. The wounded superhero slowly raised his hands, palm out, in a supplicating gesture, and spoke, an undercurrent of pain in his voice. "Hold on, hold on, there is no need for violence... stop casting spells... what is going on here?"
Hal Henderics
"Wait, they were attacking?" Dackly says, putting a finger to her chin, confused."Yes, Dackly. They were attempting to slay you." "Oh.""And destroy the crackpot." "YOU WHAT!?" Dackly erupts, being held back by Gozer.
Unlurking Sentinel
The jumpsuit-clad man's display of both athletic and swift magical ability shocked the small wizard, who had never seen such dynamic use of the latter before. "B-begone, foul cult! Your dark m-machinations end here!" Except that the jumpsuited man most certainly did not look like a cultist of any sort... perhaps he was possessed? Or deceived? Still, hesitation briefly came over the mage... but only for a moment. Hesitation gets you killed in his profession, and he had just managed to get into a groove. Still, he expected immediate retaliation, and quickly put up a protective barrier. (Cast Manaward). He then flicked his rod again, and another Fire Blast was launched, this time twice as strong as the last, but he intended to miss the jumpsuited man with this one, instead attempting to launch it behind him. (Cast Fire Blast, still targeting Gozer, Dackly, Solomon, and the Crackpot) Edited November 17, 2018 by Unlurking Sentinel
StormLord
Spicy HG stepped into the main room and turned around to start explaining what was going on when the short wizard completely lost it. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" She watched somewhat stunned as he launched a chunk of ice at Dackly and followed up with a fireball only to have it cut off by Navin's quick thinking. She reached for her glaive but paused a second, from what she'd seen and knew of Navin he could probably handle this on his own with less chance of any real injury, so instead she held back, waiting to help should things go bad. Yours Truly
Solomon decides that as the second most flammable person in the room with the most flammable choice of magical implement standing near an extremely flammable person, he should probably do something to not get hit by the second fireball the other wizard was casting, which is why he decided to yell out something along the lines of, "I don't know! He just attacked us out of the blue!" Before he took the crackpot and attempted to nudge Dackly into going along with him as he fucked off somewhere less toasty. Powder Miner
The burn on his back stinging, Navin watched as the wizard proceeded to continue to be aggressive, shouting something about dark machinations, as Navin muttered a "Dēvā śappata..." Navin began running at the wizard, bearing down upon him as the wizard already had begun to cast another spell. The forward movement of the wizard's rod was interrupted suddenly, as Navin set his hands low, reached the wizard, and promptly sent them shooting forwards, palms outstretched wide, as small, directional explosions left the back of each of his palms in what Navin called his Rocket Shove. The wizard would find himself propelled into the air a couple of feet as he was pushed upwards too quickly to process, almost comically moved a couple of feet into the air, and then dropped onto the ground on his back. Navin crouched down, preparing to attempt to pin the wizard's wrists down, but he spoke as he did. "Come on, if you do not stop escalating this I do not think I can fully stop it! Do you think that this is working out for you? I have been actively trying not to hurt you, but I cannot promise the same of the others!"
Unlurking Sentinel
The Manawall had further prevented any physical harm to the wizard, but it hadn't prevented made the wind any less knocked out of him. So much so that it took a moment to even speak, much less begin to stand up. It completely threw of his hold on the Astral Cycle as well, unfortunately (or rather, fortunately for the others). "Y-... You are being deceived... am I wrong? Th-that voidsent... and those who summoned it... have deceived you..."
Powder Miner
Navin let out a long sigh, still crouching over the wizard largely to ensure he didn't get tagged by an attack from one of the others. "I am afraid that you really do not have a full grasp of the situation, and you should not have responded to that with violence in the first place. Nonetheless, what is done is done and now I can only now hope that I can defuse the situation and inform you properly." Navin took in a hissing breath -- that fireball could certainly have been far worse, and seemed oddly weak for a wizard type, but it certainly was not fun to get jostled around by his own explosions and then to directly absorb a fireball. "Alright, our position, all of us, is such: we have been gathered from various worlds, realms, dimensions, universes. whatever term you use for these, because there is a threat far greater than any one of our individual worlds' foes. You have essentially been teleported by I believe a cosmic force in order to defeat these monstrosities and brought here... and no, we do not know a way back. But I have got some level of experience both with this whole conflict and with other dimensional traveling myself, and I know enough to know I am not being deceived. You probably have questions; please do not preface them with fireballs."
