Hello Waynolt, can you explain to me what features does this add to the vanilla Dex? If i remember correctly once u catch a pokemon, in the pokedex u see his image and have a pokeball displayed meaning u caught him.

The mod does the same thing for the other mons it can evolve into or from, and to their variants.
For example: if you catch Rattata, you can see that icon in the pokedex also for Raticate, Alolan Rattata, and Alolan Raticate.
(This influences a few things, like the behaviour of the Magnetic Lure)

aha it is clearer now, i learnt smth new, i didnt know that for example alolan rattata had a separate Dex entry

It is not separate, but you can switch between the forms from the third page of any Pokemon's details in the Pokedex

So, having some trouble with the EV Overflow mod. If I attempt to use one of the Friendship berries that lower EV's, they either don't work if the Pokemon has enough EV's for the berry to work normally or they cause a crash if the EV's are low enough for the IV to lower. I used a Kelpsi Berry on the Raticate, and then used a Qualot Berry on a pokemon with 0 EVs in Defense.

The latest version fixes this, thanks! 👍

Unsure what causes this, but trying to load 19.5.9 game with sharedpc mod breaks the game. Works fine if you remove it though

Your shared box file got corrupted
1. delete [saves location]/../Pokemon Shared PC/SharedBox.rxdata

2. load your latest savegame

3. save the game

This will regenerate it.

Fun fact: I've kept a lone Gulpin in the box since forever, trying to catch the cause of this corruption; still, never happened to me. I still have no idea how does it happen and why this often... might be an issue with Windows.

Oh, I see. Me personally, I had the mod back in 19.17, put a few mons in it, updated to 19.5 and then reinstalled SWM. I guess the most obvious cause would be that it didn't survive the update? Thanks for the help fixing it!

Thanks for the mod! The feature to call out types instead of just names of the next pokemon in battle is super helpful.

I cannot seem to get the shared pc box to run on my version 19.5.10 and it seems from the messages here that it may not be working currently. Can someone confirm if that's the case or if I'm just doing something wrong? I have the mod folder with just the shared box and the type message in it, dropped inside my patch folder as instructed.

Thanks and happy new year!

I'm currently noticing a very odd interaction with how my game is handling SharedPC.  Specifically SharedBox.rx doesn't seem to properly update and just remains in whatever state it was in when the file was created.  For example, I boot the game after installing the mod with box 50 empty.  Shared PC will remain empty across all save files, no mater what I put into it or what I take out; depositing something and pressing F12 effectively deletes whatever was in the box.  The game however remembers what I put in as box 50, so deleting the Shared PC mod will allow me to withdraw the 'deleted' mons I deposited.  On the flip side, if I install the mod with Pokemon already in box 50, they're effectively cloned letting me withdraw or move them as many times as I wish.  Like I said, I've tried deleting the SharedPC folder and RXData file, so the only thing I could think of would be if the mod itself was corrupted somehow (both the main download and the updated one from 10/12 for BlueAqua).

I don't want to just jump to conclusions about there being an issue with the mod itself considering I've had no issues with it from the 16-19.16 releases, but that's the only consistency I can find from my testing, and wanted to get your input.  Even tested with fresh install 19.5 (no updates) and it still breaks.

As far as I know, the mod should be working fine. Are you encountering any error messages? What is happening exactly?

It sounds like this might be a file permissions issue. From your description, it seems the mod can create and read the SharedPC data file but doesn’t have permission to overwrite or update it. This would explain why the data remains stuck in its initial state, regardless of any changes made in-game.

Unfortunately, this isn’t something that can be fixed by modifying the mod itself - if it were, it would pose a serious security risk by allowing arbitrary file modifications outside the game's scope.

I recommend checking the permissions on your savegame folder and ensuring that neither your firewall nor antivirus is interfering. Running the game as an administrator might also resolve the issue, but it’s generally better to fix the file permissions directly rather than elevating the entire program.

Hey Waynolt,

Thanks for responding.

No error message but when I put the sharedbox.rb in the mods folder my save file won't load. All it does is play the music with a black screen.

I currently have the battle type announcer and egg move mods in there and everything is fine, but the moment I add in SharedBox.rb, it stops loading the save.

EDIT: I also just tried adding the mod in and then starting a new game incase it was something about my save, but same black screen and nothing loads

Please try deleting the file SharedBox.rxdata - sometimes it gets corrupted (not sure why, I suspect it's something specific to some Windows installations)

Where do I find that?

Looking through the data folder in the patch directory I have 902 map files and one tile file, don't see anything for the sharedbox anywhere.

I'm using JoiPlay on android if that makes any difference

Ah, that makes things a bit trickier since, unfortunately, JoiPlay is a bit of an unknown for me. I’m not entirely sure where it saves the mod's files, but the mod is designed to store the SharedPC data in a folder called "Pokemon Shared PC", which should be in the same directory as your savegames folder.

Your best bet would be to ask for help from other JoiPlay users on the Reborn Discord server - they might have encountered similar issues and can offer some insights into where JoiPlay stores mod files and how to manage them.

I understand, I saw you mentioned JoiPlay as an outlier for you in earlier posts. I will say though that I've been through the entire reborn game directory, save file location included, and cannot find any other file that mentions sharedpc or sharedbox besides the rb I placed in the mods folder. I'll try the discord but is there anything else you could recommend for troubleshooting if it isn't even making that folder as it should?

Thanks again

EDIT: I went and tried the Discord. Someone named enu in there tried to help me but believes that JoiPlay shouldn't be different than desktop in this regard, though they did mention that JoiPlay runs natively in portable mode. Does that make a difference for your mod?

Then "Pokemon Shared PC" is in the same folder as the game's .exe file
Delete "Pokemon Shared PC" and it should load - as long as the problem is indeed a corrupted mod file

Well I'm certainly in a pickle then as there doesn't seem to be a traditional exe for the game, except for a file called "game.exe" in the Reborn folder. I'm assuming it puts things together from other places and that exe is just a placeholder somehow as it's filesize is 0bytes according to samsung file Explorer and there's no "Pokemon Shared PC" folder there or anywhere else on my phone that I can find. I thank you for your help but it seems JoiPlay hijinks is ending this party, no Shared box for me 😢

EDIT: I just tried manually creating a folder called "Pokemon Shared PC" in the Reborn folder... to no change whatsoever 🫠
