Surprisingly enough Halley's rope didn't snap! Although she did have to spend an awful lot of time dodging the various gears that allow the steadily descending elevator to slowly make it's way towards her.

Rather surprisingly Izumi would find no traps inside of the elevator shaft, perhaps because not even the Azzies would see the need for one, or maybe they just relied on the fact that their elevator shafts would be properly guarded by something, like the currently descending elevator.

Edmund would find the way blocked by the elevator for a moment, before it continues on its way back down.

The Good Doctor decides that the best course of action, and in fact the best motivator for George would be a sudden and unwarranted burst of Disco Music! Because let's face it, you aren't being cruel enough right now aren't you?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnruGdu9yro

You watch as it reels in horror at the sound of the song "Staying alive", and you continuously film it as it desperately tries in vain to run away from you, and your seemingly endless disco music collection.

Lexiel descends the elevator shaft through the simple means of being able to fly.  She has a Lightkeeper of Emeria help the less aerially adept members of the team.

The party's descent down the elevator shaft could have been said to be the calm before the storm, as nothing of particular interest happened at the entire trip, not even the slow descent of the elevator would bother literally anyone else as they seemed to not know that the party was even inside of the shaft.

They would eventually find a marking near the doors of the elevator shaft marked "B-5", and they would presumably manage to find a way to cut through it, which would reveal a hallway that had appeared to have been ripped straight out of the set of a hospital in a horror movie.

The lights were set to flicker off and on rather tastefully, and the walls of the hallway were lined with what would first appear to be a view of a broken and desolate land that had been consumed entirely by a never ending wave of horrors in various different guises meant to tap into the viewer's innermost fear. but aside from the curious looking many armed high school student in a rather odd outfit shooting a blond man, they assumed various reptilian and spiderlike shapes.

The "glass windows" lining the wall flicker for a moment, before fading entirely as a rather peculiar tune plays in the hall. There is a rather obvious looking pair of double doors ahead of you.

The Good Doctor....Fifteen whole minutes earlier

Your Disco based celebrations/torture was interrupted rather rudely by the needlessly high amount of proximity alarms blaring inside of your lab. Your best friend/creation S.C.I.E.N.C.E. tells you rather redundantly that "The proximity alarms seems to have been triggered Sir"; you roll your eyes at this, and march over to the suspiciously undamaged control console to greet the invading Shadowrunners/Future Replacement Lab assistants properly.

>>>>>>>>Play the song "Staying Alive"

>>>>>>>>Play some ominous organ music

>>>>>>>>You know the sound the horror made that caused some of your lab assistants to shit their pants? Didn't you record it or something?

But before you started randomly pushing buttons in an attempt to make the damn thing play music, you spent a bit of time reopening the hole in space/time you had closed earlier and threw the treadmill and the bound horror at another horror escaping from the portal; which closed with a rather satisfying *pop* immediately afterwards.

Edmond shuddered, horrified by the scenes of terror portrayed on the screens. But, when they dimmed, and disappeared, he drew himself up and stepped forward. "Brace yourselves." Ready to jump back at a moments notice, Edmond gently tugged at the doors. (If that doesn't work, push them)

The Good Doctor had a rather sudden stroke of genius as he resolved to play the apparently horrifying sounds George had made when he first entered this plane of existence.

He spent many moments just trying to find the correct datapad that it had been recorded on, after a while he successfully found the one that S.C.I.E.N.C.E. had marked down as "Research Notes: Horrendous Howling" before plugging it into the console and dramatically slamming down on the button marked "Play".

The Good Doctor would be quite surprised to find out that somebody had already managed to find the time to hack into the system and overwrite all of the data contained within with recordings of some rather dated Pornography.

Edmond would find that the door doesn't seem to be budging at all no matter which way he tries to move it.

And literally everyone in the room would hear the sound "Bow chicka bow wow" before the most 70s and discomforting music played inside of the hallway, as the sound of something rather obscene could be heard quite loudly, but before it progressed past the 1 minute mark it was cut off, and replaced by the sound of a rather angry man with a thick European accent shouting "WHO THE FUCK IS DEUS?".

Lexiel jots a quick reminder down in her notebook:  'Ask Sombra about Deus - Ironic Justice?'  Then she attempts to quietly pick or otherwise open whatever is keeping the doors open, using the thieves' tools and Dimir infiltration kit she carries for just such an occasion.  Should this fail, she attempts to remove the door's hinge-pins, so that it can be pushed down and allow us to enter.  Should this fail as well, she attempts to cut her way in with the lava lightsaber axe.

Lexiel would hack open the door with her lava axe to reveal the Good doctor entering an escape pod with a rather large looking datapad in his hand, and a circle of bloodied lab assistants and humanoid robots that seemed to have been chanting something, although all that could be heard now was the words "After one taste, you'll duck soup the rest of your life".

This causes the ringing of alarm bells to emanate from the center of the circle, as a greasepaint rune encircling a pair of glasses attached to a comical looking fake nose and fake mustache and eyebrows starts to....what is the word for the opposite of glowing? Like when something starts to absorb the light from its surroundings as opposed to emanating it? Well that happened as the ringing was slowly replaced by the sound of trumpets blowing.

Eventually the glasses rise up as the greasepaint forms into the shape of a not very tall man with receding hair in an old looking suit jacket. After spotting the group of intruders he says in a rather rapid tone of voice "Don't look now.....but I think there is one group of shadowrunners too many in this room, and I think its you".

"Outta the way, mister!" Halley stepped forward and fired a paralyzing shot at the enchanted man.

Edmond did not recognize the comedic genius whose presence he was in, and was simply confused by the man's appearance. But it was now a battle. Edmond powered up the suit, to launch an attack.

Edmond uses gambit perk to sacrifice 25% MHP to increase INT by 5 for two rounds (INT is now 15). Then use weld which is basic attack 2d6+ INT and adds 3d6+INT to next strike against Marx.

"A test subject!  Excellent.  I was looking for a guinea pig for my latest spell.  This will do nicely," Lexiel declares, pulsing her aura towards herself, Visrii, and Edmond to grant each of them +1 initiative.  "Come on, let's drop this fool and get to the objective!  Double time!"  Pairing action to words, she shoots him with her narcojet rifle, activating its special ability Narcojet Payload to debuff Mighty Marx's dexterity and intelligence.  Speed control wins battles.

This guy doesn't look like he's an easy opponent. Caution is advisable.

"Move over." Visrii commanded, though he fully expected the opponent to ignore any talking.

He readied himself for any battle, channeling power into his armor.

Black clouds bleed into existence, swirling around Izumi as she launches forwards, a miniature storm with muzzle flash for lightning, and gunshots for thunder. Hitting wasn't the priority, hitting seemed to jack shit anyway. She'd like it to harm, but everyone would like a lot of things and will be getting none of them, no, the objective of this was to simply apply pressure, and keep that pressure up until something breaks be it him or her.

Tempest Bloom II on Mighty Marx. This inflicts Overwhelm with a Duration of 3 Turns and a Cooldown of 3 Turns. Overwhelm reduces the victim's RES by the user's DEX (=9).

Round 1

The Mighty Marx takes out a cigar and puts it in his mouth, and he examined Visrii, Lexiel and Edmond before saying "Well I'll show you a thing or three" before throwing something at their current positions.

Edmond and Lexiel succeeded in maintaining grip on a nearby surface and thus not getting sucked into the vortex generated by the rapidly disintegrating device but they were thrown around the room for a bit after the vortex decided that it wanted to explode instead, with Lexiel taking 10 points of damage and Edmond taking 9 points of damage. although Visrii was less fortunate and experienced getting his face vacuumed by a small hole that deals 10 points of damage

Lexiel proceeded to shoot The Mighty Marx in the face dealing a whopping 0 points of damage, although she did manage to lower his Int and Dex by 2 and boost her teammates.

Visrii is currently stunned

Edmond succeeds in dealing 16 points of damage to the man, and setting him up for a rather devastating attack much later on.

The Mighty Marx shakes his head at Visrii and attempts to throw another thing at him, he misses the man, and causes the bomb to miss the Bullet instead.

Halley fires her blaster at The Mighty Marx, causing him to lose a total of -3 RES -3 DEX and -3 Str

The Bullet spends a moment to dodge the man's attack

Izumi reduces the man's res by an additional 9 points for three rounds.

Edmond was utterly bemused by the...man they were fighting. Hmm. Visrii was the only one impeded...I suppose he's still recovering from his ordeal?

Lexiel switches to her healing aura, restoring 3 HP to herself, Visrii, and Edmond.  She then summons her goblins, one in front of her and one in front of Visrii, and orders them to block.

Round Two, First Phase

The Mighty Marx threw a grenade at Halley, Visrii, and The Bullet with a cry of "You got it alright, and you can keep it", dealing a grand total of 5, 7, and 11 points of damage, and succeeding in stunning The Bullet.
Lexiel heals her one? competent party member, the guy who keeps getting shot, and herself for three points of damage before shielding herself and Visrii with a disposable minion.

Edmond's welder was working overtime tonight, as the combination of his pinpointing and searing of weak spots...along with Visrii's helpful assistance with hitting said spots repeatedly led to the boss suffering a rather fiery fate as he was dealt a grand total of....186 damage to the silly little man.

But before he exploded into a million little bits and pieces...he had enough time to say "Go, and never darken my towels again". You are not really sure how to respond to that, but his glasses were left on the floor....it looks rather ridiculous though.

The room itself was rather unremarkable, and the cultists/lab assistants have already started to leave the building, although the remains of the already dead lab assistants were strewn all over the place...the man with the data slate had rather unfortunately found the time to buckle up and push a button, but he appeared to have left a rather evil looking book on a pedestal in the middle of the room.

You can tell that the book is evil simply by looking at it's horned cover, and how it seems to be emanating a feeling of corruptness, constant change, and it seems to suffuse the area with an odd feeling of purple. You also hear the sound of heavy metal music mixed with the beating of war drums while a rather slimy voice hums the same tune over and over. That and some douche seems to be completely and utterly unable to decide what instrument he wants to use and randomly changes his and other people's instruments only to randomly not change his and other people's instruments sometimes. Look....it just doesn't make any sense whatsoever, and you feel that it would look much better when it is on fire and not being weird and magical.

The room itself is filled with an almost unreasonable amount of pillars, overturned and thick tables, and for some odd reason somebody decided that this room really needed some sandbags....there is also a rather large console that wouldn't look out of place in a nuclear plant, it was almost a dozen meters side to side....there is also the remains of a robot lying in a disorganized pile.

Edmond and Izumi would receive a message on his phone from...someone, maybe they should check it?

"Well, that was...unusual." After ascertaining that the strange man was well and truly gone, Edmond stepped over the the glasses, and picked them up off the floor. Odd, since everything else was destroyed... He inspected them for a moment, then moved on, and searched through the assorted parts, papers, and general contents of the room, looking for items that might be of interest to himself, or to the Councilor.

"So, I guess we shoot the book? Finish the job and get out?"

Loot the glasses, and check the room for interesting parts. Also, check the phone message.
