Seeing as there was nothing else to do, she decided to follow where Radovan went, but as she was heading there, she caught a glimpse of a steelix, among a newly formed cloud of dust and debris, before it was returned. "Mr. Terry, you are free now! Was that your steelix? I can't wait till Suzie evolves too! Do you know where could i possibly find a metal coat?" He says, hurrying over to the Clefairy and returning it to the Aether Ball. He lets out a sigh before speaking up again, just in time when the rope was dropped. "We'll need to secure the girl and see if she's suffered any injuries, so stop movin her around." He says at Cathode and Suzie with a big of a frown. "First aid, please, you know that. What you're doing is dangerous without checking on her vitals first. And yup. T'was my Steelix. He's a lazy bastard but he's a great help too. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a Metal Coat around #05. The Janitors who find 'em there sell them too so there's that. Lots of them get used up for the construction over at #01 though, so the source is dwindling." Waiting for Suzie to lower Uno down, still on her back, not into the water. Putting her into the water would be bad. He takes out his A-Comm and runs it over her to check on everything. "She seems fine but still no Onix acrobatics. We'll have the folks up there help us carry her out..." ... A bit of shenanigans later and everyone is back on the surface, seeing the trees crumbling easily in the Drill's wake. The Employees gather everyone into the vehicle and soon enough, the crew is back at the #08 base, at Zeta's house. "Great job, guys-! We've downloaded the data from your A-Comms and have confirmed the Core has been neutralized. You should board the Drill and get back to #00. Oh, but Emmanuel. Leave the Cores at #08. Bringing them outside the Nexus could collapse it. It's not safe." Ray says through the A-Comm. "Mr. Mason will be awaiting you at HQ, so...err...look forward to that..." And then she pondered on what Terry had told her about the Metal Coat. She had of course seen some used remnants of metal coat in there, and one could also say that she could also melt other junk to create a metal coat. But she knew from her studies that pokemon that evolve with one, only do so by the use of extra clear, top quality metal coats, and she was damn sure she had not seen one yet. Sena sighs in disappointed along with Verna, "don't worry girl, we had done our best here, get some rest and thank for helping me trying to find something that could be useful," as sent Verna back to her Aether Ball. He then trail back to the group, watching them doing their thing. He can't stop thinking about the battle, he knows he wasn't able to do much and it bother him very much. It kinda remind him of his past not being helpful to a certain water type pokemon who protected him. I wasn't being helpful again, no one I should blame for my inability to help and protect everyone except myself. He sighs once again. As such, they were headed back towards #00 to report to Vice President Mason, serving as the substitute for Mr. Shun, who still seems to be busy over at #04. Uno's condition is stable, but both Zeta and Betani seem awfully quiet. Zeta casts one last look at her home before her second ever departure from it. She's helped her new friends save her world, but something was still amiss to the young girl. Betani was probably just jealous though. She sat with her head turned away from everyone else, a slight scowl adorning her face, and grumbled into her chin. Terry climbed aboard joyfully. His demeanor was always so...er...well, he appeared calm as always, but he still had to wipe away a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead as he let out a slight sigh of relief that it all ended well. However, speaking of ending well...Gina was surely not going to be happy to have not been assigned to the group this time as well. Everyone spoke of how great they were and rumors have already begun spreading through the HQ building that they've managed to solve the #08 issue without any trouble at all. However, they were sloppy as all hell. First, that girl, Cathode, she was late to the ceremony. And now this new girl, Nat, was even more late. No, she'd never even shown up at the ceremony to begin with-! After all, the ceremony had been yesterday-! /This manner of behaviour is beyond irresponsible. You'll be kicked out of the Cadets first this in the morning when the administration gets my call-!/ Would've been what he'd have said to her. Yet he...no she... What was even up with this girl? Mason glances down at the file he'd brought with himself. Apparently, this was supposed to be Natalie Dot-Delerue. Yet something was obviously wrong from the get-go. Even a blind fool would've been able to see something was terribly terribly wrong with the girl that showed up. "Err...you are Natalie, correct?" Mason asks quietly, trying to keep his voice composed and calm. "You do realize you're a whole day late for your graduation ceremony, young girl?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- #04 PORT TOWN DAMIEN *+ Space Aether Employees* Music: Paradise (#04 theme) The weather was beautiful above the Wailuda island, as always. The sun burned hot, but no one had any qualms with it. The sounds of waves crashing lightly against the shore was only overshadowed by the constant countless voices exchanging greetings down the streets. The inhabitants of #04 tended towards tanned skin and hearty manners. They welcomed everyone equally to this little tourist spot which thrived on Magikarp. Yet there was no time to rest for the Cadets. Damien rushes hurriedly down the narrow streets as he receives an urgent call to arrive at the beach. Something had gone wrong. Terribly wrong. But what!? "Oh thank goodness, we need more backup, quick-!" The Space Aether Employees already at the scene rush Damien towards the waterfront. Music: Magikarp's Revenge There...a horde of Magikarp, seemingly furious, had jumped out of the water and began terrorizing the people at the beach. Screams pierce the skies. Panic tears the air. Damien can barely hear his A-Comm beeping as a familiar voice comes echoing through it. A voice he recognizes as that of Ray-the Cadet dispatcher. "04 guys, you have permission to use your Pokemon-!" She says. "Defeat the Magikarp-! Boss is handling the Gyarados further from the beach, driving them away-! I repeat, you need to defeat the Magikarp and rescue the citizens-!" The boss she referred to was none other than Mr. Shun, the head of the Cadet department. Damien knew of him and he'd worked under his command during this mission at #04. Mr. Shun is still within sight of the bearded Cadet, fighting a Gyarados out in the calm seas with his own Gyarados. Things seem to be going well for the Boss, so there's nothing for Damien to worry about there. So Magikarp it was... !!! And then the situation was secured. "Great job, everyone-!" Ray says through the A-Comm. "It was a real help. Thanks." ... Evening soon descended upon #04. It was a hard day at work but it was nothing unusual. However, Damien had heard tell that a VIP had gotten injured at #08 and was being escorted back to her home at #04 to rehabilitate. Would it be worth looking into? He had the location the Drill was going to be arriving at, so might as well, no? ----------------------------------------------------------- AETHER HQ #00 THE #08 CREW *+ Zeta, Terry, Gina and Betani* The Crew arrived back at #00 HQ after the busy day at #08. The blinds were already slowly shutting on the dome over Aether City, basking it in a lulling nightly atmosphere as the street lamps went on. Gina awaited them all as they landed, along with a medical team. As the Drill landed, they grabbed Terry by the arm and pulled him along with Uno towards the medical bay. Terry only had time to wave at the crew before disappearing, but you're sure you saw him let out another sigh of relief as he's taken to the safety away from his wife's rage. "Kalva, where's Kalva???" Gina screams, pushing Betani away as she rushed to greet Kalva. As she finds the boy, she grabs him into a hug and rests her chin on top of his head, perching like a bird would in a nest. "I heard you fought the Core. I was afraid for you." She says with a gentle tone. Meanwhile, Betani makes a face as if she's going to puke, while Zeta claps happily and greets Gina. Gina addresses the greeting with a slight nod of the head. "We're all fine, you old hag." Betani retorts. "Now leave the boy before you end up smothering him to death or something. We should head to the Vice President in order to report anyways. She was staring directly at Mason's eyes, at the same time managing to look bored, in awe, a bit scared and absolutely unimpressed. "Yes" she said. Her voice was nice and deep. Her shirt was a bit wrinkled, and her suit jacket a bit too small. She had a slight smell of fertilizer. Her makeup and her hair were, however, absolutely perfect. The moment Nicaea had destroyed the Pixie Core, a strange, shadowy creature burst out of the tree. He could swear that he saw it, or at least, its outlines somewhere not too long ago."... The Abravator," he let the words slip out of his mouth, as if realizing something. He rushed straight to the Abravator before Radovan could presumably drag him to get more ice cream. He felt responsible. Really responsible. Despite how no one so far had even considered saying a thing about it. He hoped that he could lift the weight off his heart somewhat if he could get some answers from the gallery in the Abravator, and from the eccentric duo, Abra and Kadabra. Solosis protested, having attempted to calm Emmanuel down all the way from #08 to #00, but in vain. She found herself less and less able to control the child. Yours Truly Posted March 18, 2018 Share Posted March 18, 2018 Radovan decided that it would be wise to try and get most of the group away from Kalva's #1 fangirl before Betani managed to trigger her somehow, and he quickly settled on fulfilling his promise by trying to convince everyone to, "Why don't we go to Jenny's ice cream shop again? I mean I did promise to buy you all some ice cream didn't I?." As in all honesty while a part of him wanted to drag some people over to the Abravators and hopefully coerce them into providing some more answers; he realized that there was nothing preventing him from doing that later, and that everyone must be feeling quite exhausted (and possibly a little bit dehydrated) after their little excursion. On the way, Damien stopped to get something to eat and a bottle of water. He looks at Rooey's pokeball, then decides maybe it would be best if she waited inside. She was tired, the weather was warm, and she wanted to sit and relax for a moment. But more importantly, she loved ice cream! To the point she was forgetting her social awkwardness. "Thanks for the treat, Radovan!" she smiled at him while crossing her fingers near her chest. "Let's go everyone!" she piped, up, and made for the ice cream shop, only to halt short a moment later after coming to a sudden realization that made her turn bright red and all bashful once again. He signalled for everyone who wanted ice cream to come with him by simply raising his hand and moving it down towards the direction of the shop as he smiled warmly at Cat's direction, "You really shouldn't run off like that if you don't know where you are going Cat~, so you should just follow me." While he was trying to think of what he should do for now, he heard Emmanuel says "Abravators", as he rushed straight to the Abravator place. He seems to be troubled with something, I better follow him. Without leaving a words, Sena follow Emmanuel and when they were a bit further from the group he decide to ask Emmanuel. The day's recollections whirled around him. The exploration of 08, the death of Wailord, the fight with the Cores, for the first time being unable to protect Quina...and a burning desire for strength. When he was released from the hug he signed, "I missed you Gina. It was tough, it was scary. But we pulled through in the end." Kalva then took out Quina's Aetherball. "I learned a lot of things too." He looked at the dormant ball, taking a deep breath and releasing it in a huff. "I couldn't protect Quina this time - we weren't, I wasn't strong enough." He and Sena find the door open, with Abra and Kadabra standing by the sides, ready to greet them whilst still wearing their masks, obscuring their visages. "Welcome, Young Masters Emmanuel and Sena, we've been expecting you." The two speak in tandem, perfect intonations. The room beyond them is pitch black. Only two piercing black alien eyes stare back at the two young Cadets from the darkness, reflecting the light from outside. "You've defeated the core and brought balance to the natural cycle of life and death just as was foretold. The first step has been set." "You've done well." Abra smiles, breaking the monologue, as she cocks her head to the side, offering a hand to Sena. Kadabra bows and offers a hand to Emmanuel. "Won't you come with us? We need to talk." ------------------------------------------------------------------ SPACE AETHER HQ #00 RADOVAN & CATHODE *+Jenny* "I'm coming with you for the ice creammmmm-!" Zeta ran after Radovan and Cathode. "I'll be going to check on Uno." Betani leaves in the direction of the medbay. Music: The World Jenny lives in Radovan and Cathode find Jenny leaning against the ice cream stand with her face in her hands, groaning in displeasure. She notices them approaching and quickly straightens her posture with a perky smile and a wave. "Oh, ah, good day, customers-huh? It's you, I know you-! You're the new Cadets!" She seems to relax. Zeta smiles happily and stands next to Radovan, holding his arm by the sleeve. Every once in a while she glances over at Cathode excitedly as well, though she seems a bit tired too... "I bet ya came in for some ice cream after a busy mission. So what'll it be~?" "Uhm, what was it I had last time? Cathode, you pick for me-!" ----------------------------------------------------------------- SPACE AETHER HQ #00 KALVA *+Gina* The two of them left alone at the landing side, Gina looks at Kalva directly in the eyes. The Ralts lay there, snoring softly, and Gina returns her gaze to Kalva. "Being strong can mean accepting that your partner will have to get hurt at times." She signs. He then spun around slightly to get a better look at the menus before he said, "I think I'll have three scoops of that Nanu Cocoa ice cream on a waffle please." But Kalva had only just a few hours ago learned how fragile this peace was. "It's confusing." Kalva at last signed. "I'm trying to be strong to protect her...but I need to accept that she will get hurt?" Kalva's stomach hurt from the prospect of losing Quina again - and not just once, but thousands of times more. But he had resolved to seek strength, and determined to not break down in the case of loss. If getting stronger meant having to see her get beaten over and over...if it meant in the end, he could stand up against not just the forces that could harm Quina, but all pokemon too - then he must at least try to pursue this path. "I'll try to understand. I really will try." "But how do I get stronger? In the battle, I couldn't do anything to save her. All I could do was just watch. I need to try help her - how can I do that?" But when Kalva signed his question, he noticed Gina's gaze quivering from their natural steely might. It was but a moment, and for others might seem trivial, but Kalva had very rarely seen Gina waver so. Regret? Is it regret? There's something paining her. Kalva knew that Gina wouldn't tell him. Gina had always kept her faults under a tight padlock - and not even to him, would she tell the contents of what was behind the lock. If he wanted to help her, then he'd have to find out for himself. After hearing Zetta's question she decided to do what every person does in those situations, and shove her own tastes onto her. "You are really going to like these Zetta! My favorite combination is a 3-ball cup icecream, with the three different flavors being mastic, peanut, and caramel, with extra caramel syrup on top! I will get one for me and one for you! Figure there's going to be more problem," he sighs. As Abra offering her hand to Sena, back away a little, he feels it would be inective if they decide to plot dump only just 2 out of 5-7 person. "Come with you? sure but, what do you want to talk about? If it related to the previous event and a possible connection to the future one, would it be okay to call for our friend first? I feel like our other friend that was involved would also need to know." Sena asked, he feels that his other friend and Radovan would probably have a lot of question that they would like to ask to them. He needed to try his best in whatever little way he could help - and if he should become the best that he could be, and if Quina became the best that she could be, then he trusted that everything else should follow. This time, Kalva returned Gina's piercing gaze, light brown eyes as burning with passion as much as her's. "Alright. Please tell me as soon as it's completed!" Kalva signed, filled with determination. As soon as the training camp was open, he would be sure to go there. Kalva gently took Quina's Aetherball back off Gina and returned her. "For now, I am going to the medbay for Quina's treatment." Kalva informed her, in case she needed to find him. Then Kalva broke into a hopeful smile, as if all that he had experienced and lost were but a bitter-sweet dream faded half gray into memory. She says as she steps through the open door and into the dark room beyond. "All shall realize the truth no matter when and how. That is how this goes." Kadabra remarks, bowing before he follows her as well. Were the boys to hesitate, they'd feel a gentle touch to their backs, after which their vision would go blurry and, opening their eyes, they'd find themselves standing next to Abra and Kadabra, inside the strange room. "Thank you, Alakazam." Abra says as the doors close behind the boys. ... Nothing happens in the dark at first, but as the boys' eyes grow accustomed to the darkness, images start flickering in front of their eyes, the very tiles making up the walls spinning, revealing new hidden truths. Before the two know it, the room is brightened to the point it stings their eyes abruptly. "Welcome to the Abravator Society." The hosts speak together, taking a bow. The walls bear the same symbols as before. The symbols appearing the same as the beast that came from the Tree of Life. "Legends speak of the bringer of Death and the perpetrator of Life. She shifts her eye to glance at Cathode as she makes a remark on her wellbeing, but says nothing. She says nothing else as she prepares the ice cream, eventually placing the two cups onto the table. As Jenny walks away from the table, she returns to the stand and starts cleaning the surfaces.
