Cool Girl
Platinum Strikers Hello everyone, today, I'm bringing you a electric monotype team. The team is centered around using Electric Surge Tapu Koko + Surge Surfer Alola Raichu (which is the idea I had for the team). + Surge Surfer is an ability that allows Alola Raichu's speed to double when there is a electric field present. Tapu Koko activates an ability called Electric Surge, which activates an Electric Terrain which boosts electric moves by 50%. Also, Nature Power can become Thunderbolt or any Electric move and pokémon are prevented from sleeping therefore Rest will fail (I've studied pokémon just deal with it) Now, then without further ado, let's get to the team! Tapu Koko @ Life Orb Ability: Electric Surge EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Thunderbolt - U-turn - Dazzling Gleam - Grass Knot Tapu Koko activates Electric Surge, which will boost all Electric types on my team by 50%. Then, U-turn will allow it to switch out while also dealing damage after it activates Electric Surge. Dazzling Gleam also allows it to deal massive damage to Dragon types. Raichu-Alola @ Psychium Z Ability: Surge Surfer EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Psychic - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice] - Focus Blast When Electric Surge is activated, Surge Surfer doubles Rachu's speed, therefore making it the fastest pokémon on my team. While Raichu is an Electric type, Alola Raichu is better with its Psychic attack, as it can deal massive damage and it will always go first due to Surge Surfer. It's also why I thought of putting a Psychium Z on it. Zapdos @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 180 SpD / 16 Spe Calm Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Volt Switch - Roost - Defog - Heat Wave Zapdos is my defogger. Not much to explain here. Golem-Alola (M) @ Normal Gem Ability: Sturdy EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Stealth Rock - Explosion - Earthquake - Heavy Slam Alola Golem is my stealth rock setter. It can also help counter electric type weakness, which is ground. It's also not going to 1 KO because of Sturdy. After that happens, Normal Gem + Explosion should 1 KO most pokémon. In a battle, it manage to kill Mega Venusaur with Normal Gem + Explosion so I'm very grateful to having it on my team! Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 SpD Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Volt Switch - Hydro Pump - Will-O-Wisp - Pain Split Same here, not much to explain. Use Will-O-Wisp or Pain Split on a pokémon and then Volt Switch to switch out. Magnezone @ Choice Specs Ability: Magnet Pull EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Thunderbolt - Volt Switch - Flash Cannon - Hidden Power [Fire] Magnezone can KO any fairy-type pokémons. Flash Cannon + Choice Specs guarantees 1 hit KO. Also, Magnet Pull prevents it from switching out, therefore it can kill the faith type on the field. Hidden Power Fire helps deal with Steel types without having to switch out to another pokémon on your team. Importable Team Spoiler Tapu Koko @ Life Orb Ability: Electric Surge EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Thunderbolt - U-turn - Dazzling Gleam - Grass Knot Raichu-Alola @ Psychium Z Ability: Surge Surfer EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Psychic - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [Ice] - Focus Blast Zapdos @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 HP / 60 Def / 180 SpD / 16 Spe Calm Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Volt Switch - Roost - Defog - Heat Wave Golem-Alola (M) @ Normal Gem Ability: Sturdy EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - Stealth Rock - Explosion - Earthquake - Heavy Slam Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 SpD Bold Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Volt Switch - Hydro Pump - Will-O-Wisp - Pain Split Magnezone @ Choice Specs Ability: Magnet Pull EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Thunderbolt - Volt Switch - Flash Cannon - Hidden Power [Fire] Okay, so there you have it folks. If you like this "team post", be sure to give this a like! Thank you and tune in next time! I would like to give credit to FraRPetO, DW, and all of you out there for helping me with this team! Thank you!
IntSys
Alright so, here's some feedback. A very glaring problem that your team faces is the lack of physical attackers. Alolan Golem is your only physical attacker and it doesn't even use a STAB move. The rest of your team is shut down by any special wall, and especially Chansey/Blissey. Now, onto the individual mons: Tapu Koko: Special Tapu Koko isn't that good. A physically-oriented set could help your team way more than a special one, with Wild Charge/Brave Bird/Volt Switch/(Taunt or Nature's Madness) as its moves. Volt Switch would also help with getting Alolan Raichu into the field. Alolan Raichu: Max Speed Alolan Raichu on Electric Terrain is lightning fast, hitting a grand 700 speed. The amount of speed is excessive, though. A Modest set would still be able to hit 638 speed, outspeeding all relevant scarfers. Alolan Raichu also lacks in power, which will most certainly be a problem once you use up your Z-Crystal, but that can be partially remedied by using a Modest nature instead of a Timid one. For the Z-Crystal, I'd personally consider Fightinium-Z, as it would allow you to bypass Focus Blast's shaky accuracy once and deal massive damage to Ferrothorn, putting it in range for an Electric Terrain-powered Thunderbolt to finish it off. Zapdos: You're using a standard defensive set. Not much can be said here. Alolan Golem: The way you're using this thing makes it look poor. It cannot benefit from Electric Terrain at all, as it lacks Thunder Punch. Normal Gem Explosion is gimmicky. It's either going to be useless due to not being fast enough, or dealing less-than-satisfying damage due to the nature you're running. For starters, don't run max speed Alolan Golem. It's outspeeding nothing with that awful speed. Try Max HP, Max Attack instead. Secondly, Sash + Galvanize Explosion hits harder than Normal Gem Explosion, so consider that an option. Third, if you really want to hold onto Sturdy, use Custap Berry instead, so it can set up Stealth Rocks AND explode most of the time. Lastly, if you're using Sturdy, take out Heavy Slam for Thunder Punch, so it can at least have some sort of synergy with its teammates. Rotom-Wash: I'm personally not a fan of full-blown defensive Rotom-Wash, as it can't really do much aside from burning things. With the burn nerf, it might just be a sitting washing machine against a specially-oriented team. I suggest a max speed Rotom-Wash with Trick + Specs/Scarf. Magnezone: Standard Magnezone, nothing to nitpick about.
