HongaarseBeer
Hey hello hi, like the title says: what will happen if I choose an event Pokémon as a starter, for example, Treeko? Will the event disappear, or will there be a replacement for it? Or will I get Treeko twice? Edited March 3, 2017 by HongaarseBeer97 Forgot a word... HongaarseBeer
Hmm, alright, thank you
mde2001
By the end of the game all starters will be available via events or in the wild, so in the long run there is no real disadvantage. Everyone will just end up with one unnecessary event.
HongaarseBeer
Thanks, everyone. I considered doing a new run because I've only ever done one... And I wanted to know if it would make a difference, but it seems it doesn't. So now that that's settled, I'll probably pick Treeko as a starter
Daniel Blackworth
You can try a monorun if you'd like. It's quite enjoyable. I did a mono water run with lower tier mons and it was fun. Edited March 3, 2017 by Mr. Divergent

That sounds challenging and I think I would like it, but I kind of suck at playing strategically at the moment, so I would have to learn that first. After that, I will most likely consider doing a monorun!

Early game was really hard for my mono water team both with the Tangrowth in Obsidia pre nerf and Florinia. Fern and Sigmund were also quite difficult while Blake did take a challenge. Charlotte and Terra were especially easy due to the type advantage though.
HongaarseBeer
But what happens until you don't have a full mono team? I mean, let's say I choose to do a ghost run, it will probably take several gyms before I have an entire ghost team right?

Most types have full teams by fourth or fifth gym I guess. But some like Ghost or Steel are a bit more tough.
HongaarseBeer
I will surely do it on my next run! Thanks for the idea by the way, I hadn't even thought of it
Daniel Blackworth
No problem. There are so many different kinds of challenges you could take aside from monotype such as nuzlocke, chalenge run, generation run, and theme run. Makes replaying much more enjoyable and challenging.
