Sutoratosu
Noting her obvious bewilderment, he took another sip from his mug "Ditto. Again sorry to just jump over so suddenly. It's.... the hair by the way, and the eyes. The facial structure too. It's kinda easy to spot a noble. I was just curious is all, seeing as how I certainly wasn't expecting to find a Monk from back home among our numbers, let alone a member of the aristocracy. It just.... makes me wonder how things are going back in the theocracy, is all. Been a long while since I heard anything of home... anyway, I can see I've weirded you out more than enough already, so I'll get out of your hair..." With that said, he started to make good on his promise, rising from his chair to leave...
Zetaark
"My name is Marcus by the way," he responds before Marek leaves, chuckling a bit at the whole situation. Looking back towards Elise, she seems to be rather dazed. "Elise? Hello? You still with us here?" Marcus asks trying to get her attention. Twinwolf
Elise started. "Wha... o-oh, sorry for that..." she says. She kinda absentmindedly pokes at her own chin - what had he said? Facial structure?

Zetaark
"Hah. I see now. Not sure if you know, but you have an appearance that some members of Lestlian nobility have. Though in saying that, not all of the nobility there is quite like that, but I guess you looked convincing enough for the lad," Marcus explained while trying to contain his laughter. "Well since it's come up, where are you from if you don't mind me asking?" he asks in a slightly lower voice to keep some people from listening. Twinwolf
Elise thinks about it for a moment and shrugs. "Well... I grew up here. Thing is, my parents found me on the Lestli border. Gale too. I've got no idea where I'm 'from'."
Zetaark
"That right? Seems a bit strange for a girl and a pegasus to be found in such a way. Do you ever think about where you might be from very much?" Marcus asks.
Twinwolf
Elise seems to consider the question for a bit. "Sometimes, I guess. aliettite
"N-No it's not-- it's fine, I can manage it on my own, thank you," Wren stammers out with all the grace and poise of a man who's probably never found himself in a situation where a woman of any sort was more than willing to see his unclothed form. Which was entirely untrue, of course. But that was beside the point. Gritting his teeth slightly, he reveals the wound across his chest, and his haphazard attempt at bandaging it up, already soaked through in most of the lighter covered places. "I tried my best, but the fastenings -- they keep untying themselves, and it was too loose and... well... you can see all that can't you?"
rokubiraijuu
"Fast?" Noah raises an eyebrow, looking the man over again. He's not what he would expect for someone quick on his feet. "Weren't you in all that armor earlier — ohhh, wait, I get it. Handicap, right?" He's seen a few of the other gladiators take on similar things during training. Usually it was imposed by the master, who wanted to make their fighter the best he or she could be, as quickly as possible. Maybe the habit had carried over or something. "Not really my style. I'm more of a — I dunno — take hits, dish 'em back out twice as hard kind of guy. I'd say you and me should go mano y mano sometime to see whose way is better but you've got a sword and all." ---------- The conversation between the three Lestlians suddenly catches the attention of the two men by the table, and one of them gets up, bristling. He stares down at Rokan. "Hey. These your friends or something? Thought you said you weren't any Lestlian dog. You think lyin' to me is funny?" "Dahhak. Hey man, calm down — " But the young man is already stalking off, confronting Marek as he steps away from the table. "Hey, you! I heard what you said back there. You're one of those theocratic bastards, right? What're the likes 'o you doing here, huh? Can't keep to your own damn country again?"
InnocentSerenity
“I’m sure you got nothing to worry about. I’m not even sure Lestli’s natives are even adept enough at Anima to use one of those things well.” Rokan took another drink from his glass, quickly opening his eyes to find it empty already. “Aw, man.” He nearly got up from his chair to get another glass before the ruckus began. “Yeah, I know ‘em. They’re Lestli?” Rokan took his glass with him, slowly walking over to the man confronting the wyvern rider. “I don’t ask the origin stories of the people I travel with, heck I barely know their names.” Rokan raised his hand up, waving at the redhead with a sarcastic expression. “Hey, sorry, did I get your name? I don’t think I ever did.” Rokan kept calm as he looked back at Dahhak. “But I’m sure you can let out your aggressions towards people in a less crowded room? I don’t think either of us want to get kicked out for making a ruckus. Paid good money for this place.” Rokan instinctively attempted to drink from his glass before finding it empty once again. “Hold on, I’m just gonna get a drink, you mind not tearing each other apart while I'm gone?” Rokan backed away quickly before making his way over to the innkeeper, digging through his pockets for more coins with his free hand. Pyon Pyon Kyuu!~
"There were some strange weight exercises I did when I was still in the arena, but now a days I choose to wear the armor. I still want to get faster and stronger, and it also has the added benefit of being safe. I've never liked the idea of risking anything in battle... Survival is sort of a priority for me." He scratched the back of his head. "That might make me seem a bit egoistical and it's nothing like that I just don't want to die." Arthur laughed it off, attempting to make light of the statement. "I'd be happy to practice with you though. From the little i've seen from the other knights, everyone has a unique style of fighting. We can only learn and get stronger by studying each other." As he said that, he thought specifically of the swordswoman. Even if their styles of fighting were different, he was sure he could learn swordsmanship from her. Sutoratosu
"You're not helpin' here, mate..." Marek muttered as Rokan passed by, before returning his attention to the more immediate issue "Look bud, let's just calm down, alright? Yeh, I'm from Lestli, but I'm just a traveller here, out seeing the world and what not. I got nothin' to do with the theocracy other than being born in it's borders, hell I've done more for folks since I left than I ever did while I was there-" he pulled a string from under his collar, revealing at the end of it's length a simple, lead medallion- the Signaculum from his service days -that he held up for the belligerant sailor to examine. It's details were sparse, but even in the flickering lamp light it was easy to make out; the official emblem and stamp of the Sathori armed forces engraved towards the top with his full name and the words "Royal Dragoons" scribed just beneath it, his unit number following right after... "I'm not looking for any trouble bud, just here to stay the night. Tell ya what, how about I get ya a drink, and we can try to smooth this over?" Bfroger6
Herrman pulls her hands back and nods when Wren unclothes himself on his own. She didn't quite get what the fuss prior to that was all about then, but she let it go. What she couldn't let go was the bandaging. She'd never seen a job done worse, honestly. In her household they were taught how to kill. It was a dangerous job though, of course. She'd known how to handle these sort of things since she was but out of her crib. "L-let me see." She said calmly as she placed the jar and the staff back on the bed and then went on to search for the place the bandaging ended. She'd shoo Wren away if he tried to complain, of course. Eventually, she located the loose end and could finally begin to unravel the mess the bard'd made out of it. Soon enough, his chest would be fully exposed. Herrman examined the wound. It was still bleeding. That wasn't a good sign. She'd need to close it up as best as she could with what she had before even worrying about removing the scarring. She took the jar and opened it. An intense medicinal smell, almost like rubber, filled the room. She didn't twitch, but Wren probably would've from the sudden olfactory bombardment. "S-stand still...this might sting." She wasted no time pushing her small hand into the jar and grabbing hold of some of the ointment with her fingers. She ran it smoothly across Wren's wound from top to bottom, her touch soft but swift and precise, unlike her constant stuttering. As promised, it stung. It stung almost as hard as it stung his nose. But after the quick jolt of pain, it soon subsided and dulled the sensations around the area of his skin and flesh. Herrman pulled a clean rug from her pack, using it and what water she had here to rinse away any blood around the wound. She then took her staff, kneeled before Wren and whispered a short prayer, placing a hand on his chest. Light enveloped the wound, taking away any remainder of pain that might've persisted through the ointment's dulling effects. Had Wren known Herrman better he could've assumed the ointment was probably some manner of poison she was repurposing, but alas, he did not know her well enough at all. She smiled at him as the wound's edges began to wrinkle into themselves, melding with the new layers of skin growing over the exposed flesh. Halfway there, though, she stopped and stood up, leaving his wound quite a bit shrunken but still visible. "I-it's a deep cut...I could hardly do as much with my abilities a-and equipment right now...but I'll w-wrap you up and it should be fine. We can take care of any scars later...i-it should be easy to fix." She gave him a bow.
aliettite
The assault on the senses leaves Wren sitting there looking slightly dazed by the time Herrman finishes with her bow. First the prodding, then the examining -- which, although he'd consider himself a fine specimen of a man, still made him slightly self-conscious -- and then that utterly foul smell that nearly had him gagging (if the action wouldn't hurt his wound more), and then the stinging pain that felt like an elfire tome ripping through his chest... by the end of it he barely registers the wound has closed at all. When he does however, he wraps an arm about himself for modesty as he tugs his tunic back on properly, dipping his head in thanks. "Th-thank you Herrman. This was most appreciated." There's a pause, and he clearly looks like he wants to say something. Then he finally does. "I'm... sorry. I want to apologize -- to you, and to the others. B-but since you're here first I... I was, well, I was a damned fool, thinking Lord Leofric was as noble as his birth when in reality he was nothing more than a dog. I should have listened to the boy before leaping to a conclusion like that, and my inaction and fear could have lead to someone being killed." It nearly had lead to himself losing his own life, after all. "I hope to be able to move past this, and right myself anew in all of your eyes." Bfroger6
Herrman gives Wren a long look. She clearly had never even given the slightest thought to the situation Wren was describing. She wasn't much concerne over opinions nor did she consider the bard to have been acting cowardly or anything. She smiles at him softly "N-no need to apologize. Y-you did what you thought you should...r-right?" She nods as if understanding fully what he was talking about. "Y-you've not wronged in my eyes....y-yet..." She smiles mischievously for the first time, putting a finger to her lip. "A-and make sure you come again tomorrow s-so I can work on your wound some more..." rokubiraijuu
Noah gives a shrug. He hadn't thought Arthur was being egotistical at all. "Survival's what you fight for at the end of the day," he replies dismissively. Any gladiator can understand that mentality. No one wants to die out there. Probably. He looks back at him at the suggestion of training together. "Me, train with a Queen's Knight? . . . You're not just pulling my leg, are you?" But then, he'd gotten a look at how they are in that scuffle and they hadn't seemed like anything he couldn't at least rough around with a little bit. Cracking a slight grin, he nods. "All right, deal. You and me, sometime." And then, after a pause: " . . . Guess maybe I misjudged you too, back there. Thought you were . . . well, you weren't whatever it was. You're not too bad." ---------- Wrinkling his nose in disgust at Marek's offer, he recoils. "Don't try t'insult me. All you types ever do is look down on others — offer 'em gold in one hand and then stab 'em in the back with the other. As if I don't know how it is. Buy me a drink, tch. I'd rather drink poison. At least it'd be faster." "Dahhak, calm down. You've had enough to drink tonight, I think — " "And you two!" Lurching forward a little, he jabs a finger at Marcus and Elise seated at the table still. "Same goes for you. The Nogu in me'll never forgive you for what you did. Y'think we're all happy to live under your thumbs? Hah!" Rubbing a hand over his face, the other man steps up to gently guide his friend from the others. "It's late. We've spent too much time talking, and you need to sleep." Turning to Marek, he shakes his head. "Sorry about this. He's the paranoid sort but not usually like this — blame the drink. I'll sort him out." Sutoratosu
"Uh... yeah, it's fine man. Don't worry about it." He said with a nod to the other patron as the man- quite literally -set about helping his drunk buddy home. He stayed there and watched the two leave, looking down at his own reflection in the tankard he carried, wondering aloud once they were gone "Nogu... like... those nogu? I mean, I guess it makes sense the guy might be a little resentful for his ancestors, but... damn that much hate? That's something I'd expect from someone who was actually alive to fight and lose that war. Is being a Nogu in Lestli really that bad these days? I mean, they were given citizenship after all, even allowed into the interior for formal education and study...that's stuff usually reserved for natives. Maybe shit's really not that simple though..." He downed the rest of the mug before turning to the monk and the noblewoman, sliding the empty cup along the main counter where it could be collected later "Anyways... that's over now I guess. I uh... look, I think I'm just gonna head on up and turn in. See ya in the morning."
aliettite
Wren manages a small smile. "Thank you. And I will." Wait, "yet"? Pushing himself to his feet, he teeter slightly before righting himself fully and heads for the door. "I'm going to catch some sleep then, now that I'm no longer dying of a grievous wound, haha." His attempt at humor... falls a touch flat. "...And I meant what I said, about the apology. So... thank you, Herrman." Making his way back up to his room, he turns in for the night properly, boxing himself in with couple of pillows stolen from the bed and a nearby chair to make sure he didn't inadvertently roll over onto his injury in the night. The last thing he needed was to wake up in a puddle of his own blood from something as stupid as that -- especially when none of them knew what the next day would hold. They were fugitives now, no doubt. Where could they run? He'd never been outside of Sathor before -- why would he want to? the queendom was the greatest country there was -- so he wasn't exactly even sure what sort of places were out there. But he supposes he'll just have to deal with that tomorrow...

"I suppose you wouldn't know, and to be fair even some Lestlians don't know much of the story, but recently members of the newer generation of the Nogu tribe have been taken in so that they can become fully assimilated into Lestli culture. Not like it improves their status much..." Marcus explains, muttering at the end.
