A smile settles on his face at Akane's words, like the look of someone who has reached a place of rest. I, too, have things I must uphold. But he also knows when enough has been done. "You face Naoki, and I will not run any longer. All-Mother, guide my hand one more time."

Seeing that this blockade of enemies is keeping them from moving forward to board the adjacent ship, Noah bristles with annoyance. "Ghhrr, get out of our way!! Arthur, I've got him!"

 

Move to H22 and attack Mage 2 with Iron Club.

 

An unprecedented amount of power comes behind the boy's swing, and there's a momentary flicker behind his eye as he raises the club and draws it back -- a flash of a man, as though silhouetted behind him, with the same cocky but stony determination, the same mane of chestnut hair wild in the salted river breeze. He is almost feral in his single-minded rage, and the only difference seems to be years and a pair of golden eyes to contrast with the boy's heterochromatic ones. By comparison, the young boy is a spitting kitten to a stormy, street-wise wildcat, but the face, the expression, even the posture -- they're all the same. 

 

And just as that man had cut down those in his way before he had finally fallen, Noah swiftly dispatches the mage, the sickening crunch of solid iron caving bone spelling his immediate end.

"Thank you, Noah." Arthur says, keeping his breathing steady to calm his heart rate. He took some medicine, and prepared to fight more. "I think we make a good tag team."

It had, yet again, been an utter whirlwind. One moment, he was turning to thank her, and just like that, the Arrow found her, and then... then...

 

Him.

"HEEERMIIIN!!!" but it was too late. even as he shouted her name, the world held it's slow motion. Though he moved fast as he could, it was still nowhere near enough, as the vagabounds axe came crashing into her. Nowhere near enough as the damn pirate sneered with his ratty little grin, her blood still glistening on his edge. And in that brief moment, as she fell to the deck, the two of them locked eyes.

 

And the fucker's sneer grew even bigger. and Marek was even fairly certain he heard him laugh. His entire body shook, grip bone white, the elders beginning to speak to him, resonating with the rising swath of emotion, the destruction, encouraging it, stocking it like devils tending to the fires of hell, showing him how the man might move, how he might react, all the possible paths this fatal encounter might take...

"Wipe...that fucking grin... OFF THAT POCK-MARKED, PISS GUZZLING MUG THAT PASSES FOR A FACE!" and with the ferocity of a wyvern, Marek pounced and descended upon the man from above, teeth bared and eyes burning with violet luminence as he angled his lance to drive right through his heart and down into the very planks beneath him. "YA THINK YA DID GOOD? DO YOU THINK YOU'RE A BIG MAN, YA FUCKING SEA RAT!? CUTTING DOWN A HEALER LIKE THAT... I WILL GUT YOU LIKE THE HONORLESS, GODLESS SWINE YOU ARE!!!"

Akane was impressed at the man's skill, fitting of a warrior of her people. She placed her sword back into it's scabbard and drew the one he had given her. lt was simple... nothing special. lt was built well, balanced, lt was a warrior's sword. At least,the sword of a warrior who didn't feel the need to flaunt wealth or anything of it's value. lt was a tool of battle much like herself. lt felt right in her hand. She steeled herself, and swung. The first slash of her sword not thrown from her sheath this battle. The first real attack. She was grateful that she had learned the man's name. She'd something to give to the tribes... she'd not be able to carry his body back. She wished she could perform the proper rites... she knew them after all. She buried her tribe... all of them. 1 by 1. lncluding an empty grave, for who she once was. Those rites were a part of her...

She swung with all of that pain behind her newly acquired blade. lt would feel the weight of the One Armed Demon's soul.

Equip Steel Sword and attack Myrm 3 once more, this time... with FEELlNG!!!

The world spins out of focus around him, and he collapses to the ship's deck. Looks like I couldn't do anything after all. I'm sorry . . . everyone.
