DarkDreamerLuna
Ahh Field Efects, The thing that makes Pokemon Reborn so special. It also can make or break certain battles. I will be trying to cover Strategies in every field effect eventually, but here i'll start with the elephant in the room. The Glitch Field. So the reason this field effect is so big, is because of what it does to everything in general. It basically reverts the battle mechanics to gen 1 mechanics. Namely, The physical special split, and the Special stat being the biggest part of it. How Ame decided to determine the special stat was to choose your higher stat, between special attack and special defense, and combining them together. So if you have 150 sp def and 50 sp att, you get 150 special. This is incredible, due to how fun it is to abuse it in general. How this works is i'm going to list certain Builds for Pokemon and how they will work, and put them into tiers. Now if all of you want to put Pokemon builds on the list that you don't see, feel free to link them in the comments. I'll add them if i feel like they can work well. Keep in mind that there are no Fairy, Steel, and Dark types, and become normal types, and their moves become normal type as well. The tiers will work like Smogon Tiers, going from S Tier all the way down to A- tier, and Then i'll put gimmicky Pokemon that can be used for some fun. S Tier Goodra is one of the best, if not the best Pokemon on Glitch field, for a few reasons. The Physical special split is one of the reasons. Giving it tools like Outrage, Power whip, and Aqua Tail becoming Special. Then there is the Special Stat, becoming base 150 special, partnered with Assault Vest, boosting it to 657, along with Powerful moves such as Outrage,Fire Blast, Power Whip, Aqua Tail, Thunder, and Ice Beam as well. It does so much damage, especially since on glitch field, There are no fairy or steel types, Which means there are 0 Resists to Dragon. So it becomes so damn strong that it can basically get 2-3 kills with outrage in one shot. Mantine is a Very good pokemon, Benefitting from the physical special split, With moves such as Seed Bomb, Surf and Ice Beam to work with. The reason Mantine is so good is because of Amnesia. Amnesia Boosts Mantine's already great base 140 special stat, to 832 after one use. It can be used both Bulky and Offensively, and also has item options such as Salac Berry, Assault Vest, and leftovers. It has swept me 2 times before (Damn you DemICE) Slowking is one of the Best Trick Room Setters In The Game on this Field. With Options For Coverage such as Fire Blast, Surf, Terrain Boosted Psychic and Psyshock, along with Ice Beam. It is in my Opinion the Best Trick Room Setter in the Game, Taking Hits from The Hardest Hitters in the Game, Such as Goodra, and Mantine at +2. It also has reliable set-up, reliable recovery, Great Coverage options, and many other Great things. A+ Tier So In A+ Rank, Swellow is one of the two Physical attackers on this rank, also being one of the most reliable Offensive Sweepers in the Game. Along with Guts, It Gets Physical Options such as Boomburst, Brave Bird, U-turn, and even Ominous Wind. With Guts boosted Boomburst, it can OHKO easily the whole tier. It is one of the Fastest pokemon in the Game The Reason it isn't S Rank is due to how quickly it gets worn down. That and being walled by the rock and steel types stopping it immidiately. Now Heracross is so good due to how is easily kills half the mons that are used. Scarf Heracross is one of the Hardest pokemon to counter in this metagame. Having Coverage for the common pokemon such as Mantine, Swellow, Goodra, and Slowking. Once it gets one kill you better have something to outspeed or tank a hit or you lose so easily. It usually comes in and just gets a kill, and either switches out or sweeps. Slowbro is basically as good as slowking, but is slightly worse due to being slightly weaker, and is outclassed in roles except for one. The reason why it's even used it the physically defensive set, being able to take moves from swellow, being one of the two good and reliable switch ins to it. The calm mind set is very good, just as good as Slowking, if not better. Serperior, is very good, benefiting from the physical special split, with moves like Aqua Tail. Also benefiting from the special stat, boosting its special stat slightly, along with the Assault vest, makes it a very scary threat in this game mode. Outspeeding a huge amount of the game, with very potent sweeping capabilities. Alakazam is a very threatening pokemon in this, with coverage moves like the elemental punches, psychic, and other options. It's good, since it can either chunk, or ohko everything from stab psyshock or psychic, and those that live, can be covered by the elemental punches. And now Volcarona, probably the best fire type in this field. With moves like Psychic/Zen Headbutt, Wild Charge, Fire Blast, and Giga drain, it can ohko so many things with a quiver dance up. After a quiver dance, it also can live hits from alot of things on the special side, like mantine's surf for example. A Tier So People Be Sleeping on my boy Probopass aight? That's fine in every other time, but here, oh boy here, never sleep on this monster. It got 150 sp def, so it has goodra special stat, it has options like stealth rock, pain split, volt switch, elemental punches, discharge, and even explosion. Nobody remembers this thing getting the Elemental punches, and it really helps this thing. While it's basically a pure rock type, it's still a very very good option. Tangrowth is basically the most bulkiest thing in the tier list. Having bulk of 100/125/110 with reliable recovery, giga drain, it just will never die. It's got bulk that can rival Mega Venusaur, and can run an item, such as leftovers, rocky helmet and even assault vest. Clefable is probably in people's nightmares back in gen 6, where it terrorized the metagame, and never god damn dying. Here, it's really good aswell, while not as good, still a great pokemon. With Cosmic power, giving it effectively +1 in defense special attack and special defense. With BoltBeam coverage (Thunderbolt and Ice Beam) it can really just stall out the whole game honestly. Gengar is a pokemon that both got better and got worse from the special split, losing elemental punches, but gaining a thing called usable STAB. Here we go back to the days of RSE, and bring back the glory of Gengar. This thing is the best ghost type on here, and by some distance. Omastar is good from being both a suicide lead, and a sweeper. With good all around bulk, it has 70/125/115 bulk, and has shell smash with coverage moves like Surf and Ice beam. In my opinion i think suicide lead is much better, since we have effectively none in this format that get benefits. A- Tier Now Dusknoir is a good Pokemon, not as good as gengar, but is still a good Pokemon thanks to trick room. Trick room along with the calm mind set is a very good option. With The Elemental punches and psychic, it poses a pretty big threat to your opponent. Tentacruel is good thanks to rapid spin, along with things like tspikes to set up. It deals good damage, with moves like giga drain, surf, and ice beam. It takes little damage from the offensive water types, such as mantine, and other threats like serperior. Salamence is not available, but i don't think it's right to not include it on this list. With moves like hydro pump, dragon pulse/outrage, and fire blast, it can put a real dent in your opponents team if they are not prepared. Gyarados is quite gimmicky, but i put it here due to it's movepool. Having Surf, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, and Ice beam, it can really put a team in a bad position if they go into their physical wall. Nidoking is great. With Sheer force Physical Shadow Ball, Earth Power, Sludge Wave, and Rock Slide, it can really tear through a team late game. While also being able to run Special Flamethrower, Ice beam, Thunderbolt, Confusion, and Water Pulse. Gimmicks Tier Sudowoodo is complete FIRE (also trash) in this Field. With Calm Mind Wood Hammer, Fire and Ice Punch, it can deal a good amount of damage if you let it set up. It's bad because its calm mind Sudowoodo, i needn't explain myself further. Biberal is kinda fun, having Simple Amnesia with Thunderbolt Surf and Ice beam, is actually deadly in trick room, but it's not good enough to be anything more than a Gimmick. Hitmonchan Gets the elemental punches. Stantler can be used with Calm Mind Energy ball, Psychic, and thunderbolt for some decent coverage, but isn't all that good. Unreleased Category (Gen 7/Legends) All Of these Pokemon Here will be very very broken in this field for there own reasons. Either due to huge Special Defense stats making them have decent offenses, incredible coverage or both, no matter what these mons will be ridiculous once they come out. Until then, we can have decent Balance. So That's it, it kind of got sloppy around the end of it, if you guys have any suggestions of what i should put on here i will, or any recommendations are appreciated. I'll probably be doing a different field around the weekend, Here's a poll for the options: http://www.strawpoll.me/13261919/r Go Nuts People
ShadowStar
I really like the idea of investigating which Pokemon prosper the most in specific Field Effects. Personally, I voted for Chess Board because I feel as if not enough people have actually looked into the destructive forces of that Field and how fun it is to abuse. HUEnd
Wonders Toxapex on Glitch Field... Please ban. 1 hour ago, DemICE said: Also Shuckle is dope if you let it set up. Also, if Shuckle could learn Ancient Power/Power Gem and Bug Buzz, it would be really OP. Edited June 23, 2017 by HUEnd
DemICE
no because those are physical moves, except if you have power trick shuckle in mind, which most of the time will fail to be very useful
