The Case of the Gearen Lab Fire (Possible Spoilers)

I really think this should become a sidequest.

As anyone of us know, If you have been paying attention to the story, Amber was banned from Gearen City because she supposedly set a fire in the Lab. She Blames Venam for it.

If you have made it to River's End, and Completed the Type: Null Sidequest, you meet Matthew, Venam's Dad. After completing the Sidequest, you can enter Matthew's home and find his Journal. The Journal reveals some of the details. Apparently, both Matthew and Amber were blamed for the Fire. Both were banned from Gearen City.

I don't think that the Fire was the fault of Either Amber or Venam. Matthew recorded that the Fire felt unnatural. He also said that the Fire was like something that he had never seen before. I would doubt that Amber or Venam, who were both 7 years, were entrusted with Pokemon, at this time. And even if they were, I doubt that they could have set a fire of the Magnitude of the Gearen City.

I honestly don't think that this fire should go uninvestigated. It's too intriguing. I think that we should have a Sidequest that involves finding the actual Culprit.

An important detail that I noticed is that an Item that survived was Amber's metal box. It mysteriously survived the Fire. Someone wanted to Frame Amber for the Fire. Either they wanted to specifically frame Amber, or they just wanted someone blamed for the Fire.

Either Way, the Metal Box Survived, and Assuming that it wasn't Amber, I can conclude that it must have been done with the use of a Pokemon that could control Its Flames. A first stage pokemon would have never been able to do such a thing.

The Culprit's Motivation? I don't have enough Info to determine a specific Motivation. Maybe the Culprit doesn't have one.

With the little Info that we have on this case, I only have Two Suspects. If we ever do get to investigate this, than the List of Suspects could increase.

1. Dufaux- This Demon takes pleasure in causing Chaos. It probably would have been sealed away, but it has been shown that It can still conjure illusions of Pokemon. You think it could have Manipulated a Fire Type into setting the Fire, Even if it couldn't set the fire itself. It could very well have been (Ironically) a Chandelure.

2. Karen- If she is strong enough to be in the Elite Eight, she is strong enough to Train a Fire Type and Use it to Burn down Gearen Lab. She is Mentally unstable, and definitely violent. But if she was able to find clues to the Hidden Library, then she has some intelligence, and know how to cover her tracks (By leaving a Metal Box unharmed, thus blaming it on Amber).

Discuss.

EDIT: I thought of a Third Suspect. The Arceus Cult. Indriad could have commanded the Red Gardevoir to cause the Fire. The Red Gardevoir would probably have obliged. Hypnosis would allow Gardevoir to control a Fire Pokemon. The Fire Pokemon would cause the Fire, and Gardevoir would have it cover its tracks. After all, the Cult did wish for the extermination of Ku-Gearen in the Past. Their motivations could still have been the same.

Agreed, I would love to investigate as well. Maybe some post-game stuff? Also, correct me if I;m wrong, but I believe Saki was also involved to some extend.

If it wasn't Venam or Amber, It almost Certainly wasn't Saki. I don't think that she would be entrusted with a Pokemon at that age, and even if she did, she wouldn't have the skill to train it and have it cause a fire that large. It wouldn't have the skill to keep Amber's Metal Box from Burning.

nice theory but the indriad one falls off a bit. In the current time, indriad was probably dead, so we don't know what caused it. And we cant point to the time point paradox event when we found is house in the sewers. That was not his work it was someone else and the red gardevoir wasn't even there. So we can safely for now say that indriad was not apart of this weird fire incident. Although you are right, it does seem too suspicious to not have a side request.

Ok, it looks like Dufaux and Karen are the only real suspects that I have, as if now.

All I know, is that I want the real culprit caught. Neither Amber nor Matthew deserved to be kicked out of Gearen. Justice was not enforced on the real culprit. I know it's a fictional world, but I can't live knowing that.
