Team Darker Than Black

Poetic

Alright, I have recently began watching a rather awesome anime known as Darker Than Black and I was browsing along the wikia of it when I saw a list of powers. Being me, I decided to pick six powers that would translate easiest to Pokemon and try and make a halfway decent team. So, without further ado, Team DTB!

There is a sixth Pokemon, it is a Dewgong. When I went to post it, Dewgong magically became a Metapod. I don't know how, but it did. So yeah.

186.gif @ Leftovers

Trait: Drizzle

EVs: 160 Def / 252 SAtk / 96 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

- Attract

- Scald

- Swagger

- Toxic

And this is probably when I lose you all because you're all tired of seeing this little frog. But, the powers/Pokemon I've chosen seem like they'd work best on a rain team, and so I need a bit of permanent weather up. And April's specialty is making it rain. Attract for a chance at haxing my opponents. Toxic for residual damage that can't be washed away in the rain. Swagger for more hax. And finally Scald for STAB. You may notice I don't have Perish Song. That's because I hate the move and find it cheap, so it won't be on this team.

Dewgong @ Life Orb

Trait: Hydration

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

- Icicle Spear

- Aqua Ring

- Waterfall

- Rest

Following April is her partner, November 11th. This icy fellow will be more than happy to hit you hard repeatedly. Restdration for healing, Aqua Ring so I don't have to constantly rest up. Icicle Spear for STAB and for a bit of an homage to November 11th's primary use of his power, and Waterfall for things that resist Ice.

Trait: Aftermath

EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Thunder

- Taunt

- Hidden Power [Psychic]

- Mirror Coat

Anyone who's watched Darker Than Black knows Hei is the main character, and in this team it's no exception. Taunt so he can deal with things that'd like to set up, Thunder for incredibly accurate STAB, HP Psychic because I couldn't think of anything better. In all honesty, I'll probably make it HP Fighting to deal with Steel types that'd otherwise wall. And, if it looks like he's about to take a heavy hit, Mirror Coat to bounce it back.

Trait: Hydration

EVs: 92 Def / 164 SDef / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Double Team

- Rest

- Baton Pass

- Hidden Power [Fighting]

What's this, an Accelgor on a rain team? That's right, Poe's mixing it up. I found out this little guy can also abuse Restdration and with that speed, he'd be perfect to be named after Parcel the teleporter. It's a simple set. Double Team up so they can't hit you and Baton Pass it to something else. Rest for healing and HP Fighting for a general coverage attack.

398.gif @ Life Orb

Trait: Reckless

EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Brave Bird

- Close Combat

- Double-Edge

- Retaliate

Azusa's power is called "Sonic Kicking" which is pretty much high speed, high power kicks. I figured the best thing that could capture that sort of power was an Adamant Reckless Staraptor. Brave Bird for STAB and Reckless abuse, Close Combat for Steel/Rock types, Double Edge for more Reckless Abuse, and Retaliate for if she comes in after a teammate dies.

400.gif @ Silk Scarf

Trait: Simple

EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Def / 80 SDef

Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)

- Aqua Tail

- Last Resort

- Curse

- Hyper Fang

Rounding off the team is Genma, the armor maker. I've seen this guy pull off some truly amazing stuff. Curse to pump up his attack and defense, Aqua Tail and Hyper Fang for reliable STAB moves and then Last Resort for the real power.

So, that's my attempt at an original rain team. Please, leave your comments and suggestions below. And, because I'm a nice guy, there's an importable there for ya if you want to test it out.

If you have Hyper Fang on Bibarel, I don't think it'd be wise to have last resort aswell. It's frankly a bad move, and forces you to attack in patterns that may not appeal in the situation. Switch out for Superpower or Super Fang, cuz Super Beaver.

Other than that, electric types destroy nearly the entire team. I know that this is based of characters in DTB (which is awesome as awesome, I know), but I recommend maybe switching your Electrode's Hidden Power to Ground, so that Staraptor isn't the only pokemon who can take out the slower Electric types.

Also, it's a horrible idea to have both Swagger and Attract on the same moveset. You can remove either (seeing as both will make you roll the dice of luck), and replace it another special attacking move for coverage, if you hate Perish Song that much.

Staraptor won't need both double edge AND retaliate. Retaliate might seem like a good revenge kill, but any of your other moves on it will do, since Double Edge does the job for Normal powar. Replace it with U-Turn for coverage, or Pursuit for switch assumption.

While I like the idea of a rain team which doesnt see the same pokemon all the time (and a team that actually USES Bibarel!), there's a lot of luck involved in your strategies. Who knows though, give some testing and then check back and improve.

Darker than Black is awesome

Originality on the team is awesome

Probably won't be super competitive but I don't think that was the point so awesome job, really like the hydration accelgor
