[IC] TTG Chapter 4: Greed

Supernova

Tai was puzzled by Cardinal's resolve, completely baffled. The god just forced herself into his life, completely ignoring his own feelings. And now, he was no longer on equal grounds. He had to submit himself to the god's irrational care, or he would suffer the consequences again.

His eyes rolled down, as he sighed after seeing that his torso was still, in fact, fine. The pain began to fade, as he realized that Cardinal only struck nerves, and nothing else.

"... No," Tai replied, "she won't let me go."

"Your actions... and mine... they had consequences. Yet, I'll be facing them alone."

"I, um, didn't think this, um, would happen. Blink wanted, um, Nil to show themselves." She looked down at herself, eyes flicking to the ground on either side of Tai as she stood over his mech. "I didn't actually, um, want to hurt you. Blink said, um, that she would save you if Nil, um, didnt." She almost seemed to physically shrink as she backed away a step or two. "I'm sorry. . ." She started to turn away, toward her discarded cloak and shoes - not that there was a point in retrieving them.

Blink

"What in the fuck do you mean?" Blink asked angrily. The way Nil had been talking... She sounded like a child who would rather break their favorite toy than let someone else play with it. "When did you let her get a hold of you in the first place?"

Silent Requiem vs. Hunter

Adam allowed the sword to cut into his armor. As soon as it had, he rotated his mech in an attempt to wrench it from his opponent's grasp. At the same time he deployed a blade from his hull such that if his opponent kept her grip she would be pulled against the outside of his mech and cut open by the blade. Normally he would taunt right about now, try to get his opponent to lose their cool. But after the desperate struggle of the last battle, he wasn't quite up to a chat.

Supernova

"She got into my mind after my first match. I accepted her request to crash the competition, because, honestly, I can live without a shortcut to success." Tai replied. "I didn't know she was the Tenth God. She had deceived me up till now."

"She intervened during my match against Temperance. Her reasoning was the same as this time's. She didn't want me to get hurt, for some reasons. I tried to convince her to stop after that, but as you can see, it didn't work at all."

"Boy, do I look pathetic now?" He mocked himself, "she won't stop until I succumb to her demands. I can only be treated like a sandbag so many times before I have to retire."

"You wanted to lure her out, right? At least you got what you wanted."

Silent Requiem vs. LOLI_HUNTER

Koizumi released the handle of her short sword just as her opponent performed the rotation. As she spun from the momentum of her attack, she drew a new pair of short swords from her hip and worked them into her spin, resulting in a twin horizontal slash targeted at her opponent.

Strider vs. Libra

"Hehe... Thanks!"

Morgan made use of her aerial movement to dodge the chunks of metal with ease. It wasn't really until afterwards that she noticed the energy coming from the crowd. It didn't take long until she can feel it in herself as well. The excitement, the exhilaration, the pure ecstasy that comes from the thrill of battle. The feeling was incredible... wait a minute... something was off about this... Well, whatever the case, she was finally having fun, no matter how oddly suspicious the timing might be.

"Y- your slings aren't that bad, either." She said somewhat awkwardly. "... Sorry. I'm not all that good socially."

Morgan closed in a bit, switched over to her machine guns, opened fire, moving over to Libra's right side as she did so. She had a plan. A crazy plan. A plan so crazy that... okay, maybe not that crazy, but she was confident that she could pull this off. She just had to get in close, but not too close too quick.

Blink

"Well, what I wanted was to fight her." Blink confessed, "But seeing how she was acting... I really didn't want to fuck with that." She winced a little. "I'm so gonna get my ass blasted for Lord because of this stunt." She then took a moment away from talking to Supernova and turned to face Hiroki. Since she couldn't properly look the girl in the eye, Blink instead opted to caress her cheek, catching her just before she could turn away. It crossed her mind that she was probably starting a million rumors with the action, but she didn't stop. "I'm sorry I got you caught up in my idiot scheming, Hiroki." she apologized sincerely, "I'll tell the others that I pressured you into it, the only one to take the fall here will be me." She released Hiroki and returned her attention to Supernova. "That goes for you too, Tai. It sounds like Nil tricked you as much as anyone. My word probably ain't worth shit anymore, but I'll use whatever worth it has left to convince the others that you're not at fault."

SR vs. HUNTER

Adam was already spinning away from HUNTER by the time she finished her spin. He only took some light scratched from the attack. The first sword stuck in his hull was flung to the edge of the arena. Unfortunately, due to the terrain, he didn't have time to counterattack again, so he just did his best to put himself just beyond the reach HUNTER had displayed with her shortswords. Hopefully she would have to work more for the next attack, granting him an opening.

SR vs. HUNTER

Not missing a beat, Koizumi dropped her swords and revealed a pair of spears, which she threw at the opposing mech, cables trailing behind them. At the same time, her bit matrix laid down a curtain of suppressing fire, restricting the ball's movement.

Hiroki squeaked a little bit at the caress. She couldn't really say that anyone had been interested in her before, and wasn't sure if the gesture actually meant what she thought it meant but. . . two people? And both of them were other girls. . .? "Um, thank you, I, um, guess." Unsure of what exactly to do, she threw out a quick bow and then scurried toward her discarded cloak and then the exit, hurriedly scooping up the garment. Not that it would be of much use going forward; it was now going to be known that the feared Hellfire Knight was nothing more than a frightened little girl. Damnit, now nobody is ever going to take me seriously again. . .

Libra vs. Strider

The machine gun fire pelted against Temperance's armor to little effect, small dents and scratches that immediately balanced out. Her scales filled with more metal. The mech's main body began rotating, slowly at first but rapidly gaining speed. The arms raised into the air, the heavy weights in the scales dragging them outwards with a powerful force. The mech then began slowly advancing, pushing its way through rock and rubble in a slow and deliberate march towards Strider. The tension of this creeping attack diluted the crowd's excitement with anticipation.

Tai

Tai simply sighed. "I need a way to stop Cardinal," he said. "A way to prevent her from entering the arena."

He called his mech away, and gazed upon Hellfire Knight's hasty exit. The realization finally struck. Are my eyes fooling me? That's... Double-checking with the drastic change in demeanor and the unfiltered voice, he finally came to the conclusion that Hellfire Knight was, in fact, a little girl.

However, he couldn't help but wonder why she went through all the effort to conceal her gender, as it was quite a trivial quality in mech combat. It was clear that it at least mattered to her, though.

He then thought a bit more about stopping Cardinal. As far as he could see, she was able to disable mechs, teleport, nullify attacks, and inflict mental damage.

... Mental damage... I just have to paralyze my nerves. It should be possible....

Mommo - Giant v Revenant

The grenades the Revenant picked up with his magnetic abilities detonated the moment they were disturbed. Mommo wasn't taking any chances and as she heard the explosion, she fired her main cannon in its direction, bursting an energy blast towards the sound and hopefully Revenant himself. The blast itself was as wide as Giant and would easily blow off a chunk of Revenant if it hit. Aside from that, it also destroyed any obstacles in its wake as Mommo's artillery was a formidable one indeed.

2 grenades have missed - Mommo's special attack is ready

SR vs. HUNTER

The suppressing fire wasn't a big deal to Adam's heavy armor, although extended exposure to it would become an issue. For now he felt he could move freely. Spears were a bigger problem, if one got embedded in his hull he might not be able to get it out. He attempted to avoid the attack by rolling to the side, but the multitude of obstacles in the arena impeded him and one of them pierced his mech. He cursed and tried to dislodge it by spinning to the side like he'd done with the first sword, but it didn't come loose.

Revenant v Giant

Sully and the beast looked on as the blast destroyed the space they had once occupied, still on the move even now, for they had never stopped even as they'd tried to lob the grenades. He hadn't been worried however, for even if they'd still been there to take the blast, he knew full well the unit's generator could handle such an attack and then some... such was the boon of specialty armor, after all. Such was the boon of his schematics.

"Stop playing with her Sully..." The beast chided impatiently in his head. Already, Solomon could feel what he had been secretly dreading, could feel the line between himself and the demon fading ever quicker, one identity finally rejoining to another, even if only for a short time. There was a special type of eagerness in Revenant's voice, the eagerness of a hound sizing up a meal after so many days of fasting "You know how we do things- it's almost time, like the old days. Do it, you called me out here, you wanted my help, it's too late to back out."

He scowled inwardly, but knew he could not deny the Beast's words. The Merge was coming, he knew it. He could feel his blood beginning to slowly boil. Blood pressure increasing. Pulse sky-rocketing. Adrenaline began to flood his veins...

There would be no distinction between them soon. No boundary, no imaginary line, two would finally become one, but one would be more than enough to bring forth the hour of destruction. Nothing but blinding, brutal rage.... that would be all that filled the void...but he did not push against it. He did not exile that part of himself, as he had so many times before. No.

He accepted it.

Sasha, I know you'll probably give me shit for this... but I'm done playing with these kids. "Fine." he uttered in a low growl

Spoiler

The sensor array bloomed before his eyes, as his mind became a whir, calculating the variables of the killing field, examining the signatures that had been scattered, until at last, he saw it, the path to take... the one they'd never be expecting.

It was finally time to fight like he meant it.

Not long after the Giant fired it's main cannon, the whirring that had been softly droning on in the background rose to a fever pitch, overwhelming all other sounds as it echoed off the cavern walls. It seemed as if it were coming everywhere at once, and with the amount of electromagnetic interference that permeated the area, it might as well have been. Something fleeting roared past in the darkness, and as it did, there was a massive peel of thunder, a flash bright as a small star as a spherical wave of electromagnetic force blasted outwards off to the side of the Giant, showering the massive FAD with an ungodly pounding of disruptive force that while it wouldn't do much of anything in the way of actual outward damage, already the burst would've been working it's way through the mech, sending a massive shock through it's electrical systems, frying, zapping, bringing chaos and electrical destruction from the inside...

The Tesla Pulse at it's finest. Meant to cripple, meant to derelict, without even touching. Used as as it had always been intended, as it was done justice.

"We will show you why we hold the first seat. We will show you the old ways."

and indeed, as the mech broadcast the message across the battlefield, voice shifting back and forth between mania and nigh eeary calm before finally merging into one, chaotic voice calling out in a war shout, there in the black outskirts of the arena was a crimson blur of light and energy, growing faster and faster as it wove in and out of the countless stalactites and obstacles, still taking care to stay beyond the range of the minefield momo had laid down. With the massive spike in the EM levels as it did so, it was becoming painfully obvious that it was the source...

"LETS GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUMBLE!!!!!!!"

The light surrounding the mech began to bend and distort, the sheer force of it's fields rising to their full levels, making it even harder to track the blur of color as it maneuvered about the arena. At any moment, about to close in, about to come for the kill....

the whirring in the arena had stopped as well.

Mommo - Giant v Revenant

Mommo's eyes widened in surprise. In a flicker of a sensation, the whole world seemed to stand still, coiling around her, entraping her in static. Yet she held onto the heartrate stabilizer-the pendant she'd received from Ares-all the same. Her years of drowziness were coming to an end and she had to see it through. Even as the pulse travelled through the Giant's circuits and she lost what little contact she had with the outside world through it, Mommo felt herself breathing slowly and deeply. Suppressing any and all panic from setting in as she focused on what was important.

She wanted someone to just pat her behind the ear, like in good old days when no worries were on her mind.

Such a future was within reach. Yet the Giant's reach grew stiff. The pulse had damaged her visual perception, broken down the fine aiming automatic controls, the Giant's legs left completely immobile and it dropped to its knees. Mommo waited though, despite her sight being taken now, despite the approaching and impending assault, the Giant held onto its cannon-its wishes.

"Show me."

-was all she muttered into the speaker.

Strider vs. Libra

Morgan responded to Libra's advance with her own, taking her shotgun in hand now. Of course, her movement was impeded by the terrain a bit, but that wouldn't stop her. In fact, she actually used that time. "System, take the energy from the other weapons for the EAS."

Command Accepted...

EAS activated. Points transfered from Firepower: 4. It is now 2 from 6.

Speed is the unchanged.

Armor is increased by 2. It is now 5 from 3.

Once she got close enough, Strider made a slight change in her course, initiating a maneuver to circle around to Libra's left flank and fire a few blasts into her wheels. While she did want to deal some damage, Morgan's real motive was to freeze the wheels over a bit with her shotgun's cryogenic rounds. In all honesty, she doesn't normally use it solely for this purpose, so she's not entirely sure how well this is going to work. All she can really hope for is that it has enough of an effect to work the way she wants it to.

Strider vs. Libra

Strider's maneuver was largely successful. She did manage to dodge around and fire the shot off towards Libra's wheels. But as she went Temperance had fired off the slings. Due to the way she'd been spinning, only one was able to be directed at Strider, but it struck her with massive force. Temperance attempted to move again, but the mech's wheels were completely stuck. Her best option now was to spin up the slings again and attempt to pelt her opponent before they recovered. For once she said nothing, the feeling of anticipation was peaking in the crowd and consequently in herself.

Revenant v Giant

"Show me."

That was all it took to fully set the fiend off. No longer was there any division between man and doppleganger; Two split halves of a single whole had finally merged once more, and all the creature known as Revenant could feel was a haze of red as it howled, nothing human left in it's voice as a sickening cackle carried across the arena. The Crimson light burning around it- the aura of pure, unbridled rage, only grew more intense, as the spheres powering it were thrown into overdrive just as they had against strider.

Berserker Mode- Active. 15 seconds before total degradation.

Cracks bloomed on the exterior of its black armor, the beginning of the end, as even more light poured forth, barely controlled, barely contained. It drew something in it's hands, a circular blade which the very moment it had let out it's war cry, began to whir with a nigh religious fervor- the very same noise that had been so audible before. Many things lay between the beast and it's prey- the many stalactites, the bomb field... but it did not matter to a monster such as this.

Predators could pounce.

And Pounce the revenant did. With the Electromagnetism it gave off distorting the light around it to nigh unrecognizable degrees, there was a massive boom, one which shook the entire cavern, as the mech launched forward like a speeding bullet, a blurred mess of shifting black and red that smashed into and through several of the rocky obstacles as it flew up and over the grenade field that had been set up, heading straight for the giant. Though the obstacles did serve to impede it's movement which each one it destroyed, more massive booms resounded all throughout its flight, as the fields wound up and violently propelled it even further, again, and again, and again. one crash and explosive burst of sound after another, so quick in their succession that it all melded into a single noise...but even before that noise had ended, the Revenant was bearing down on the Giant, massive blade preparing to slice down into the massive machine, its cackling still going strong, and as it drew ever closer, it was now obvious what the whirring was- the circle it held, the outer edge was spinning so fast the very air around it was alight with orange light, the product of it's ungodly friction...

At such speed, with so much augmentation behind it's impact, the amount of damage the beast would do if allowed to connect would... be quite far from minor, even against as well armored an opponent as this one.

Quite far indeed.

But the cracks were spreading. Slowly, but surely... the end drawing ever closer, only precious seconds standing between the beast and either victory, or defeat...

Mommo - Giant v Revenant

All it took for the Revenant to attack was Mommo's taunt, and all it took for the girl to act was for the Revenant to start moving. The heartrate stabilizer, one thought of Ares, held her composure as the beast approached, echoing in her ears over and over, ever stronger as it drew near...and as the Revenant would pass above the grenade field set up by the Giant, the entire circle would explode simultaneously, launching clusters of destructive power upwards with enough force to gash through a moderately hard armor and more than enough potency to start causing the ceiling to collapse. Mommo took the stiffened controls in her hands. She couldn't see the enemy but she could still time their approach by their screech...by the grenades' explosions...but by the time the grenades would've exploded, possibly hindering the Revenant's approach, the cannon was already charged and ready as the girl smashed it into the ground below.

In a moment of static silence cutting the banshee's roar, the ground beneath the Giant's feet exploded into an erupting shockwave that shook the entirety of the arena to its core, its epicenter Mommo herself and her determination. The shockwave spread outwards and upwards, pushing the Revenant and causing the rest of the weakened ceiling of the cavern to start collapsing on both mechs. If, even through this chaos, the Revenant still managed to reach her, he's find that breaking through Mommo would not be so easy, as the assault would be easily shaven off by the Slumbering one's defenses. Stopping the initial assault would leave Mommo with enough time whilst cutting the Revenant's berserk timer short. Even further, as this duel played out, Mommo escaping the first attack unscathed, the ceiling kept crashing down and within moments it'd become hard for even the Revenant to break through as the entire weight would be pressed against the both of them, possibly further slowing him down.

Mommo didn't mind the weight. The Giant could bear it. But the Revenant couldn't last long and with all the obstacles in his way, would he manage to break through Mommo fast enough after she'd deflected his initial assault and therefore bought herself valuable time? Mommo also readied her escape system, positioning one arm to be able to fire a laser through the debris and build herself a retreat by using her mech's special ability.

Using Giant's signature attack to crush the entirety of the arena down on the two.

Using Armor six point bonus to nullify Revenant's attack on the Giant.

Revenant v Giant

The explosive bursts from the grenades went off one by one, succeeding to impeding the path of the black mech. Already on an aerial course, the force of the attacks managed to force Revenant up and over top of the Giant, causing the massive blade he wielded to only glance the armor, not that it seemed to have any real effect. The beast ground his teeth with malice as at the same moment as the grenade burst, there came the peel of energy fire, and with it a shockwave that propelled it even further, until it hurtled right into the far wall of the arena not even a half-second later, but in the moment after the beast had been repelled he had already begun to ready his second approach and counter, even with the ceiling beginning to collapse immediately after. It had managed to turn itself around to face the FAD...its fields preparing themselves in a frenzy

blow the 2 pt Reflex bonus to prepare an nigh-immediate reaction after the impact of Earthquake, rather than try to dodge it

The Giant's shockwave had both helped and hindered her little strategy. It may have well succeeded destroying the arena, and putting distance between her and the Revenant. But having been thrown so far from the epicenter of the destruction and with his back literally to the wall, the rubble that had fallen around the Revenant in the short span of time- not even full seconds -before his cracking mech making impact and it's reaction was not enough to stop the beast's rampage... and he launched himself right at the spot where the signature of his prey had remained stationary through this entire match.

Six Point Speed Bonus- TP Once per Match

No screech this time, no bellow, and the brilliant lights had ceased, though the cracks exposing them remained. He had been there one moment, and the next he simply was not, as his mech rocked forward with such inertia it would've easily broken a person's entire being, smash and rend their very flesh into bloody pulp, were they not protected by favor.

Hate, fury, wrath, pride, all pathetic excuses for the raw forces of nature driving the monster. Pale descriptions for sensations people tried to equate with language, but no one ever truly knew the actual meanings of until they were so consumed by it that all that remained was the all consuming desire to cause pain, to kill and destroy. Because those were the only powers that really mattered in the end, because if you can't kill, you would always be subject to those who can, and nothing and no one would ever save you. His father had known that, his father's father had known it, and his father and so on. Even Tesla had likely known it, whenever she would leave them, say nothing of where she'd be going or doing.

And it had taken nigh 26 years for the beast that had once been Solomon Ryke, not to realize this simple truth...

but to finally embrace it as it was. And Embrace it he did.

The time between the grenade detonation, the triggering of the Giant's Signature, and the Revenants subsequent counter was utterly miniscule. As Momo would be preparing to  arm her escape system and her laser, what would've greeted both her mech and her ears would've been a massive amount of force slamming directly into the back of Slumbering Giant, as more and more rubble continued to pile around them as the very sky itself fell.

"viaminveniamautfaciam" The words, rapid-fire latin that was barely intelligible with the manic speed it'd been delivered, would've rang out through the sounds of the arena crumbling.

The whirring from much earlier in the match was back, and it would not have taken a rocket scientist to realize what was going on- the Revenants blade, the frequency of it's oscillation so high it seemed to sing as it ate through metal, whirring as the motors and hidden spheres powering its rotation, greater than any saw blade could hope to achieve- backed up by physical force so great, only a unit as heavily armored as the Revenant was Armed could hope to withstand it, without the use of a certain trick of Armor

A trick the Giant had already blown.

There was no denying it, the blade known as Ragnorok was back for seconds now, and with the ravenous fervor, becoming ever clearer as it continued to cut its way through the various layers of Armor, it became clear that the Giant did not have very long at all until it cut through to the cockpit, and end this mess. And yet despite it, some part of the beast found that it simply had stopped caring. The cracks in its armor had accelerated greatly when the emotional storm driving it's current state had given up control even further, completely given into the primal secrets of fury, and what might they may bestow. It mattered not how many precious seconds had passed anymore...

Spoiler

For one way another, it would be the last attack the beast made.

Could Momo do it? Could she triumph over this demon, so quick, so ruthless? Could she save herself from the power to kill and destroy, could her will surpass the beast, and let her take the victory without firing even a single shot more? Could her calm, her meditation, prove to be stronger than the raw storm that weathered against her shores now?

Would what she'd been given by the gods themselves give her the strength to act fast enough, coherent enough, to perform her Escape before it was too late? To get away, and watch as the beast would crumble and break under with the power of it's own hatred? Fall apart?

Fall apart, and be crushed by the ensuing rubble when it did?

**********************

Asmoedeus had tried every method he knew of to re-enter, all the backdoors, all his emergency codes, all the ingenuity he could muster.

Not a god blessed one of them had done anything.

Whatever state the mechanic was in, whatever raw force was defying all the safeties and protocols the man had designed him with, it was far greater than anything Asmodeus had even seen the Tinkerer unleash before, even during the battle in Lust when he'd claimed to have put the Spheres into overdrive. What he sensed was nothing but utter wrath, its merciless firewalls so great, he was uncertain whether the Solomon he'd once known was still alive beneath the surge, if what he would find would be the boisterous bastard, and not some construct of hate.

But he kept working.... over and over again. Attacked the great walls of Solomon's kingdom with every ounce of artificial will he'd been bestowed with since his creation, fired one bomb of ungodly complex coding and junk logic arguments after another.

He would not stop, he could not stop. It was clear that in his absence, the revenant- that thing -that had always claimed to be part of the fighter, that he'd never trusted, never let out of his sight even during the few times when Solomon had unleashed its chains and given it partial control. He could feel himself beginning to break through, but by the gods if it went any slower he was certain he would go mad with frustration....

"I should've never left him....Someone is going to die here, and it will be because... I left him. Just as his Mother did. Just as Tesla did. Just as Sasha will."

SR vs. HUNTER

As Koizumi confirmed that her spear had found its mark, she rushed in after the weapon, closing the distance and wrapping cables around the shaft of the weapon to anchor her to the sphere that was her opponent's mech. Moving quickly, she equipped a pile bunker and brought its tip to bear along the surface of the sphere, firing off the stake at point-blank range.

SR vs. HUNTER

The pile bunker smashed clean through Adam's armor and passed out the other side. His armor quickly healed itself, but a stray shot from that could easily smash something important. With his opponent holding the spear stuck in his hull, he couldn't move away from them or rotate against them. That left him little choice. He rolled towards the HUNTER, attempting to force her underneath him while at the same time extending two blades directly towards his opponent. Should he be lucky, his opponent would fall underneath him and his mech's weight would shove the blades into her. If not then at least she'd be forced to release him and give him an opening to do something more productive.

Strider vs. Libra

The impact from Libra's sling sent Strider into the stalagmites behind her, causing her to take a bit of damage and fall over. Then the second assault came in. The first one landed a good hit, but she was able to recover quickly enough to just barely dodge the second, bumping into another obstacle in the process. Afterwards, Morgan took notice that Libra's wheels were iced, just as she planned. Good. Now, she just needed out of here, as in this specific spot, she's bumping into too many things. She jumped up and out of her spot using her jets to control her movement mid-air. She spoke an order as she did so. "System, turn off the EAS."

Command Accepted...

EAS deactivated. All stats returned to normal.

Just as the shield flicked off, Morgan switched to her railgun and fired at the wheels that she had just frozen, looking to shatter the lot of it with both the heat and impact of the projectile.

Mommo - Giant v Revenant

Her plan wasn't an entire success. Whereas it bought her some time, it was not nearly enough to stop the Revenant's destructive approach. Had she not had Aries with her now, she would've broken as easily as the Giant's armor. But she remained calm and collected, even in face of the onslaught. Even if she died, she knew she wouldn't even blink. There was no need for her to give any time to this person's maddening screeching, the blade's repetitive ramblings tearing through the air, through the metal, through fate itself. But as she broke down, so did the Revenant, and she knew she had it.

The impact to the mech's back shook it into the debris falling around. Mommo had dropped the main cannon already, allowing it to be crushed by the rocks. The chainblade cut the armor, but would slip as it struck the main hull of her escape. And by then, a considerable amount of time would've passed already. The lowest layer of her armor was designed exactly against slashing weaponry. Had the Revenant known this, they could've countered it, but as the two outer shells collapsed and the laser was fired, Mommo turned in her cockpit-a black egg of sorts, as she felt the blade slip to the side of the alloy's polished and rounded surface. And as soon as it fell to the side, the remainder of her armor broke apart and she was free. One last look at the other mech's tarnished mad form, she propelled herself backwards using the blasters in her hands and feet, waving farewell to the monster.

Strider vs. Libra

The energy of the crowd erupted again as the fight came back in full force, the oil of anticipation igniting a wildfire of excitment in the forest of brain cells... Or something like that. Shrugging off ill-fated metaphors, Temperance snatched her hammer and jumped for the door. "Let's go Kayli!" She announced cheerfully.

The railgun fire smashed the ice to bits and even mangled a wheel, but for the most part Libra's maneuverability was unharmed. Meanwhile, one of the slings had spun up and fired another shot. But this projectile wasn't just a clump of metal, it was a tiny girl with an oversized hammer. And that tiny girl was careening towards Strider at blistering speeds. In the half-instant it took her to close the gap between herself and Strider, Temperance swung one end of her hammer so that it would smash into Strider's right shoulder. The force of the swing combined with Temperance's already physics-defying speed caused the air around the hammer to ignite as it moved to obliterate Strider.
